Boneshatter pushed himself to his paws, looking around his abandoned den. His sister wasn't here, his mentor was dead, and he had no connection to Starclan. He was almost to the point of telling somebody to be his apprentice. He stared longingly at the entrance, as if wishing Batear would walk in. ~ Mudstar paced back and forth on high rock, ears pinned to her head as she mumbled angrily to herself. She wished Eagletalon were here to comfort her; he always seemed to know what to do. ~ Darkwing lunged, but his teeth met nothing buy air as the forest he was in disolved into blackness. Invisible claws made their way up his spine, and an eerie voice broke the silence, "I knew your father," it hissed, "I can make you great. I can make you... a leader. A ruler of the forest. You just have to listen closely..." "Who are you?" he called into the darkness, eyes wide. Something huge and brown with tabby stripes threw itself at him, and as he plunged into darkness he let out a terrified howl... and woke up in the warrior's den, panting and afraid. ~ Jadewhisper stared at her reflection in the river, waiting for something to happen. All she could see was a pretty silver she-cat with bold green eyes, waiting for something. She took a moment to wonder idly what her father looked like; he'd died before she and Eagletalon were born. Outside the clan: Ravenfeather was still limping, was still in pain, but was alive and happy to be so. Since his run in with the wolves he was unnaturally laid-back, not fighting or beign hateful at all. It was almost as if he wasn't there. The only thing he was aware of was Tiger next to him, and the ugly scars forming on his body. ~ Chain walked calmly next to Dawnshadow, not listening to whatever Deathnote was saying to Batear. He wanted to cut him some slack; the brown and black warrior had seem rather flustered whenever either of the she-cats from his clan were around. ~ Deathnote murmured under his breath to Batear, discussing with her whether or not they should stop and rest or not. ~ Tessa limped weakly through the forest, brown head held high despite her injuries. She'd escaped the two-legs yard, but not fast enough to avoid Marcy's sharp teeth. Her left shoulder was mauled almost raw, and with every step her eyes watered.

Batear shook her head, "I don't want to stop if we don't have to." she murmered, "whenever we stop, strange things seem to happen." ~~ Dawnshadow sniffed, then tilted her head, "Do you smell that?" she asked, "I can smell blood, and a cat. But she reeks of twolegs." she said, amking a face, "whats a kittypet doing in the forest?" ~~ Tiger flicked her ears, "how you feeling so far?" she asked Ravenfeather quietly. ~~~~~ CAMP: Cloudfeather jumped up onto Highrock and sat down, watching Mudstar, "I got a nagging feeling to come up here." she said quietly, "like, in the back of my mind, I was told to go here. The voice kind of reminded me of your fathers." she said, not quite looking at Mudstar, seeming to stare through her. |

Deathnote nodded, but continued. "Ravenfeather's still not completely better yet, and neither is Dawnshadow's leg. Chain's herbs may have helped, but... we're all tired. We've been moving since early this morning." ~~ Chain shrugged his heavy shoulders, angling his sharp ears towards the smell. "Perhaps she was attacked by something, and fled?" he suggested. "Maybe we should find her, Dawnshadow. I wouldn't want to leave any cat injured." ~~ Ravenfeather only continued frowning, and just as it became evident that he wasn't going to say anything he managed a near-silent, "Fine, I guess." He was too busy thinking about home, where his sister and Honeywhisker were waiting for them. It dawned on him that none of the other journey cats knew his mother was dead, but he didn't think to bring it up. He didn't want to talk about it. ~~~~~ CAMP: Mudstar tried not to cringe at the memory of her father. Wolfstar... she swallowed against the lump in her throat. Was he proud of her for following in his footsteps, and becoming Clan leader? Flicking her ears, she said, "Maybe it was Oakfeather. You know how alike they were..." She sat down, then, not looking at Cloudfeather.

CAMP: Cloudfeather shrugged, "which one it was is beside the point. Something must be bothering you, and I felt that you might need someone to talk to." she said. ~ Eagletalon sat beside his sister and stared at his own reflection in the water, "want to know what I was thinking about?" he asked Jadewhisper, looking at the golden color of his eyes in the water. |

Dawnshadow nodded in agreement, "should we tell Deathnote and Batear? I don'tthink they have notces yet, they seem rather distracted." she said. __ Batear sighed, "maybe for a little while, but I wasnt to travel tonight, when we can follow the Star Tiger has been telling us to." _ Tiger sighed, "are you sure you don't want to turn around and go back to camp? I don't think anyone would blame you. You almost died. I'm still not sure how you didnt." she muttered, shaking her head. She didnt want to think about it, about how scared she was when she thought Ravenfeahter was dead, and how glad she was that he was alive and walking beside her. |

Cloudfeather shrugged, "which one it was is beside the point. Something must be bothering you, and I felt that you might need someone to talk to." she said. ~ "Of course," Jadewhisper responded immediately without hesitation. The presence of her brother soothed her annoyance. "Tell me all about it." ~ When her shoulder could no longer support her weight, Tessa collapsed on the bank of a small stream, half of her body immersed in water. She swallowed her pride, only for an instant, and called out for help. "Is anyone there? Hello!" Chain grinned. "No, I don't think we'll be gone that long. Besides, I don't think those two will miss us very much; they won't even notice we're gone." __ Deathnote nodded. "It's better to travel at night anyways. Less likely to run into two-legs and such. Everything is sleeping." _ Ravenfeather had to literally bite down on his tongue to avoid snapping at her. "I don't know how either," he lied. "Maybe I'm just the surviving type. But all I know is I definately don't want to see another wolf as long as I live."

"I was just thinking about the stories we heard about our father, about how he was quiet, sneaky, and stubborn, but I realised, had anyone ever told us what he looked like? And now, there is nobody to tell us." He was still staring at his reflection beside Jadewhispers, and his eyes widened in shock as his reflection changed. The Deep, amber eyes stayed the same, but the fur greq dark silver, almost black, wtih tabby stripes. And three, jagged scars displayed themselves across his eyes. The tom in the reflection was large and muscular, much like Eagletalon, but resembled Jadewhisper, "am I the only one seeing this?" Eagletalon whispered, although he knew his ex
pression was shocked and alittle scared, the tom in the water who looked back at him was realaxed and mellow. ~ JOURNEY Dawnshadow nodded, "okay, then lets hurry." she said. Once they were away from the group, she heard the kittypet calling out, and began to limp sligly fater. She looked back at her injured leg for a second and silently cursed it. ~ "Good then, we should rest when we find some water, a river perhaps." Batear said. ~ Tiger chuckled softly, "that makes two of us." she said.

Jadewhisper let out a scared squeak, leaning over the water. The cat reflected in it looked exactly like her, but with her brother's build and three scars. "D-do you think...?!" was all she could stutter. He fur was standing on end, and she knew it. So that was him; the tom who'd eluded her, her entire life, was now an image before her. Why had her mother never told her what he looked like? Why hadn't anyone told them anything about him? How did he die? What was his background story? Where did he get those painful-looking scars? Adderstrike... Warmth spread through her. It was nice to think that she had two parents watching over her; not just Limefeather and a shadowy tom with no face. ~ JOURNEY Chain frowned. "I'll treat that leg as soon as we find the kittypet, alright Dawnshadow?" Just as they broke the trees, they saw Tessa laying half-drenched in the murky stream. Her eyes were shut and she wasn't moving. "I hope we're not too late.." ~ Deathnote noddedd, lifting his head to tell this to the others, but Chain and Dawnshadow had disappeared. He cursed allowed. "I'm sure they haven't gone far," he said. "Perhaps just looking for more herbs or something." ~ { Irony. He gets eaten by wolves on the way back. ;( LOLOL } two of us. The three words made his insides tingle with warmth, and he didn't know why. He'd felt this way, often enough, whenever he was around Honeywhisker. The tingling stopped. Honeywhisker... what would she say to him when she saw the scars?

pression and all, "wow." was the only thing he could manage to say. ~~ Dawnshadow twitched her ears nervously, "hello?" she called out tentatively. |

Tessa moaned quietly, but didn't move any more than that. Chain grimaced as they got closer. "Look at her shoulder, Dawnshadow..." He padded closer, unafraid, eyes focused on the muscular brown she-cat with the solid green collar. ~ Jadewhisper got up, about to say, "I have to tell Shadefang about this!" but the words died on her lips. Why should she tell him, when he didn't tell her what she wanted to know? She sat back down. "What do you think it means, Eagletalon?"

"I think it means he is listening to us, and watching over us." Eagletalon said, suprise leaving his face. __ Dawnshadow shuddered, her injuries were almost as bad as Ravenfeather's had been, "you should go gather the herbs you need, I'll stay here and watch over her." she said. |

She peered into the water, as if she were waiting for her mother to appear. Getting to her feet, Jadewhisper grinned. "I'm glad," she said. "And I'd also like to think that I look just like him." ~ Chain nodded, bounding away to gather what he needed. Tessa peeled one eye open, gazing at Dawnshadow. "Who are you?" she asked. "Am I dead? Did the two-legs find me again? I don't want to go back there..."

Dawnshadow shook her head, "NO, you are in the forest, my name's Dawnshadow, and I'm here to help, my friend Chain jsut went to go get some herbs, they will help with the pain and will make you heal better." |

"Alright," Tessa murmured. "As long as I'm not back there." ~ Jadewhisper snorted, shooting him an angry glare, and started back towards camp.

Chain was back, then, mouth crammed full with bitter leaves and juicy-looking berries. "Alright," he said. "What's your name?" "Tessa", she replied roughly. "Okay, Tessa. You're going to eat these berries while I chew these up and apply them to your wounds, alright? No matter how much it stings, keep eating the berries. They'll help with the pain." He gave her the berries, which were blueberries and had no healing properties whatsoever, and started to chew the leaves into a pulp.

Dawnshadow smiled, recognizing blueberries. Her mouth watered thinking of their taste, and her stomach growled, "um, maybe. I should do a little hunting, food might get your strength up a bit."

Chain smiled, despite a mouth full of bitter herbs, and nodded silently. Tessa's stomach grumbled in response; the young cat hadn't eaten the kibble her two-legs had set down for about a week. The silver tabby spit the herbs on her shoulder, ignoring her protests, and started to smear the liquid over the wound. It didn't seem to be as bad as it looked, thank goodness.
