"Oh alright, mother," Ravenfeather muttered playfully before growing silent. A dull, hollow feeling throbbed in his chest as he remembered his mother; she gave up her existance for him. He didn't say anything else, hopping onto the last stone as Chain began to slide down the slope. _ "So what do we do now?" Tessa asked Batear and Deathnote quietly. "Should we stop and rest or just cross now?" __ "I'd like to see a fish take me down," Chain boasted, sliding after her. He landed lightly on his paws, flicking his ears at Batear and the others to acknowledge their presence. ___ Jadewhisper nodded, lost for words. She wasn't sure what else to say to him, so instead she just stared into his eyes, looking for the answers to her questions. _ Of course you wouldn't mind, Mudstar thought to herself with a small smile. "Well, go ask them then. I'll go fetch Lonestar and bring Darkwing's body out." She brushed past him and padded into Boneshatter's den; the white and silver tom was nowhere in sight, but blood and claw marks took up a whole portion of the stone walls. She ignored this, giving Lonestar a long look. "You'll be staying with me now. Go to my den; if you try to run or go anywhere else you'll be killed." She commanded, grabbing Darkwing's scruff. Lonestar left, and she followed a little more slowly, dragging out a bloody, cold and lifeless tom with her.

Cloudfeather locked eyes with Lonestar the moment he left Boneshatter's den, and the grey tom looked uncomfortable in her gaze. If he had been thinking about escaping, he had changed his mind. __ Honeywhisker quickly joined Mudstar, helping to lift her brothers body. Another pang of grief washed over her, and she had to bl
ink back her tears. She wouldn't cry. They couldnt make her. __ Tiger snorted, "sorry for having a concience." she replied with a flich of her ears. _ Batear shrugged, "I'm not sure, theres isnt much shelter here, so its up to Deathnote." __ Dawnshadow chuckled, "okay, I'd like to see you not fall in when the fish is almost as big as you are." |

Mudstar blinked at Honeywhisker quietly, knowing she shouldn't speak. She set Darkwing down in the center of camp, and dipped her head at the other she-cat respectively. __ Ravenfeather rolled his eyes, sliding clumsily down the slope. He landed with a dull thud on the ground next to Deathnote with a small laugh. _ Deathnote shifted his weight to one side, trying not to feel awkward. "There seems to be some trees on the other side," he said. "So we'll cross and then stop to rest." He glanced at the river. "Everyone should pair up; the smaller cat should be on the left, the larger on the right. That way if someone gets swept up by the current or falls someone is there to catch them." __ Chain rolled his eyes. "Well then, you're in for a surprise." He listened, quietly, as Deathnote spoke. It sounded smart, actually. He hadn't thought of the smaller cats, like Tiger and Tessa, and how easy it would be for the fast-moving water to carry them away. "Care to accompany me, then?" he asked.

Honeywhisker looked at Mudstar, "I never got to tell him I'm sorry." she said in a quet voice, eyes filling with hurt and regret. __ Tiger quickly joined the rest of the group, white fur standing on end, "well I'm glad thats over." she grumbled, "lets cross then." she said. _ Dawnshadow smiled, "sure." she purred, "want to go first?" |

"I think he already knew," Mudstar said softly, hoping to comfort her. "He'll be watching over you from the Stars; I hope you'll be twice the warrior now for him." ~ Deathnote looked around. "Tessa, you'd be best to go with O'Brian. Gucci, you can go with..." He looked around, only feeling slightly disappointed when he saw Dawnshadow and Chain together. "Me, I guess. Will you be alright on your own, Batear?" ~ "You can come with me, Tiger." Ravenfeather mused, flicking her ear with the tip of his tail. ~ "Alright. Don't fall, now. I'd hate to have to pull you out of the water." Chain laughed quietly, brushing past the other cats. As soon as he put one paw in the water, he shivered. It was cold; and the current was strong. He walked until he was up to his belly, then turned around and waited for Dawnshadow. ~ Tessa glanced at O'Brian. "Hey there," she meowed playfully. "I hope you don't mind getting a little wet."

"It doesn't matter if he knew or not," Honeywhisker said, "I just never gto to tell him, it would have meant so much more if I had." she breathed a heavy sigh, "but your right, I need to do something big, in his honor. But what?" __ Batear shook her head, "I'm fine on my own, just be careful you guys." she warned, looking at teh fast flowing water." - Dawnshadow splashed into the water after Chain, "I was made for this!" she said, lovingthe chill of the water as it soaked throgh her fur, "dont you fall now," she teased, "wouldnt it be embarassing if I had to swim over there to get you?" - O'Brian made a face, "oh it just sounds like a blast." he said, in a sarcastic, but playful tone, "so how big are you when your furs all wet? baby mouse sized?" - Tiger sighed, "oh this day just keeps getting better." she huffed, "do you think I'll even be tall enough to keep my head above water?" she asked with a nervous laugh. - Gucci nodded, "well lets hurr and get this over with." |

"Make things right," Mudstar said quietly. "It's up to us to make peace between StoneClan and StrikeClan... and Lonestar. And Honeywhisker..." she paused, eyes unable to hide her raw emotion. "Don't ever be afraid to love. I think he'd like it if you had a family of your own one day." __ - "Wouldn't it be embarassing if I drowned you right now?" Chain shot back, splashing water at her. A good portion hit her in the face. He laughed, hurrying up so he wouldn't have to face her retaliation. - Tessa rolled her eyes, unable to hide her smile. "I'm slightly bigger than that, you know. I'm like, mouse sized." She flicked him with her tail. - "I hope so. It'd be awfully lonely if you drowned now; I'd have nobody else to make fun of." Ravenfeather said affectionately. "Don't worry; if you're too short, I'll just carry you across." - Deathnote nodded to Batear, staring at her for a moment before beginning to wade into the water after Dawnshadow. "Come on, Gucci." He shivered, fluffing out his fur. The water lapped hungrily at his stomach, attempting to drag him deeper. He was like a stone, though, unable to be moved.

"How can we make things right between our Clans, I mean, the rivalries go back to our great-great grandparents, and StoneClan have always had a history with corrupt leaders." Honeywhisker said, "I'd liek for the war between our clans to be done fro good as much as you do, but it doesnt seem possible." She ignored the last part, just for lack of having any reason to go against it. ___ Dawnshadow squeaked loudly when the water hit her face, and her fur puffed out on end, "oh now your just asking for it!" she yowled, taking off after Chain. _ O'brian shrugged, "Okay, half-grown mouse, dont exaggerate." he teased. _ Gucci stepped into the water beside Deathnote, then turned her head to look at him," you okay?" she asked. _ Tiger laughed, "oh yeah, because that wouldnt be embarassing at all." she said sarcastically. |

"Anything is possible," Mudstar purred, pressing her nose into Darkwing's fur. "Your brother is proof of this. After his accident, there was not one cat in this clan who thought he would become a warrior, myself included. And yet, not long ago, I had the honor of proving myself wrong." Lifting her head, she looked around for Eagletalon; Lonestar had gone into her den without struggle. "Sometimes I think you would have been a good choice for deputy," she whispered. "But I think Starclan helped me choose Eagletalon for a reason. Perhaps they have something else in mind for you." ___ Boneshatter was searching for watermint along the Sunclan border, right beside a large drop-off into a water fall/cliff. He couldn't find any around, but there was a large deposit across the border. Carefully, he picked his way across the border, crossing the stones that pushed out of the high part of the river, and began to harvest the watermint. He jumped, however, when a voice sounded behind him. "Who are you?" He dislodged the rocks at his feet, nearly tumbling over the edge of the cliff. The mystery cat hauled him to his feet. "Boneshatter. Medicine cat of Strikeclan. You are?" his voice was apologetic. He scanned the tom over; he was a handsome ginger/gold tabby with one green eye and one blue eye. "I'm Goldburn; former Stoneclan warrior." Now he looked familiar. He was the cat he'd knocked over in his rush to get to Darkwing. ___ Chain's chest ached because he was laughing so hard. He sprinted through the water as fast as possible- his fur was weighing him down and he kept slipping on the rocks. "Come on then, pretty princess! Come get me!" _ Tessa grinned. "You're not half-bad, O'Brian. But you're going to be half-dead if you don't hurry up! It's our turn to start crossing the river!" _ "Yeah," Deathnote said, pulling his ears back as he began to walk through the water. "I don't like water, is all. It makes me nervous." _ "I dare someone to make fun of you," Ravenfeather snorted. "I'll claw their ears off."

Honeywhisker sighed, "I just wish they would be more clear about what they want." she said, shaking her head lightly, "and why they chose to let this happen to Darkwing, its not right." __ Dawnshadow pounced, and even though she was dragged down by ther soaed for, she managed to land right beside Chain, the water around her splashed up into the air and completely soaked him, "haha! Take that 'Pretty Princess.'" she taunted, bolting off. - O'Brian laughed, splashing out into the water and shivering lightly as the inital cold got to him, his fur, unlike the majority of the clan cats, was thin and the water soaked it quickly, "a little cold, dontcha' think?" - Gucci chuckled, "that makes two of us, but its not too wide, so the quicker we walk, the quicker we get across. _ tiger laughed, "awe thats aweful sweet of you, but I don't think you would have to." she said with a shrug. |

"Only the good die young," Mudstar chirped, sitting down. She wrapped her tail around her paws. "Darkwing, perhaps, had another kind of destiny waiting for him. Starclan needed more than we did." They must have needed him a whole lot, then, because we're on the loosing end of a war. "Starclan has always been mysterious. I think it's their way of letting us know that they have no more power over us than a meager kit." __ Chain shook out his fur, and then pelted after her. He lunged, just as she reached the bank, both of them rolling in the pebbles, mud and sand. "Hope you like cleaning yourself now," he taunted. - Tessa followed him out, staying on his left so the current pushed her towards him. "Ugh. I'll die of sickness before I drown in water this cold." Shivering, she felt fear grip her as she had to begin to paddle when she could no longer touch the bottom. - Deathnote laughed. "You're right. Let's hurry." He waded through the water, not pleased with how high up it came on him. _ Ravenfeather rolled his eyes and stepped into the water, waiting for Tiger.

Why are we showing him mercy? You and I both know he wouldn't do the same for any of us." ____________ Dawnshadow gasped, "see? now this is why we cant be friends!" she teased, pushing him back toward the water and laughhing when she made him fall down into it. _ Gucci's teeth started to chatter as she tried to pick up her pace, "eyes on the prize. we will be out of here before you know it." she said, more to reassure herself moer than anything else. _ O'Brian nodded, too cold to say anything. Chain stood up with a gasp, ice cold water seeping through his fur. He was chilled to the bone. "You're done for now!" He took off after her again, fluffing out his pelt against the cold. ~ "You alright?" Deathnote asked, slightly concerned. She seemed stressed out, and freezing half to death as well. ~ "Why shouldn't we show him mercy?" Mudstar inquired gently, sounding wise beyond her years. "All will become clear in time. I think StrikeClan needs to wait a little bit before the answers are revealed."

Dawnskadow squaked loudly befroe turning and dashing away, looking for somewhere to hide, and choosing to take refuge under a fallen log in a tiny space that Chain hopefully couldnt get to. She looked at him and stuck her tounge out at him. __ "I don't like water." Gucci said quickly, "so this isnt exactly a fun experience for me." __ Honeywhisker lashed her tail, "tahts what they always say, 'it will all become clear' but it almost never does, it just gets more complicated. However this ends, its not going to be easy, and I can just tell that more bad will happen and we will all be miserable a little while longer." |

"Cheater," Chain grumbled, tail lashing back and forth as he tried to claw his way under the fallen log. "I can't fit under there! Come out!" __ Ravenfeather glanced at Tiger, not liking how high the water was on her. "You doing alright?" he asked timidly, not wanting to damage her pride or offend her. __ "I don't like water either," Deathnote muttered, pleased to see that they were past halfway across. "But you look like you're about to pass out." __ "Perhaps we will be," Mudstar mused, turning her head to look quietly at Eagletalon. "But I don't think we'll be completely miserable. Besides; Deathnote and the others will return to us in time. I can feel it." Inhaling deeply, she tilted her head back and gazed at the clouds. "You just have to look at things calmly, and think of the future. Every storm must end some time."

Tiger instinctively lifted her head a little higer, "well, so far I am, and as long as it doesnt get much higer I should be good." she could feel the rocks under her paws getting slipperier and her heartbeat quickened and she could head her pulse in her ears.((Ever have that feeling? its the most traumatizing thing in the world.))

"I think I'm good, I'm almost across." Gucci said, feeling the water leven get sligtly lower.

"But a tornado leaves nothing but death and destruction in its path, leaving the survivors to try and put their lives back together." Honeywhisker said, voice low, "I'm not sure how much more of this the Clan can take, I mean, look at Cloudfeather, she seems to have snapped. Shes nothing like herself. Her gaze is pure hostility at the world. And Darkwing's death caused a change in Boneshatter too, he didn't let me see it, but I could feel it." she shuddered, "I have a feeling the twister will strike soon, and it will eather destroy us all, or severly hurt most of us."

Ravenfeather only nodded quickly, realizing they were approaching the very center of the river. Where it was most likely deepest. "Well, just tell me if you need any help." { I hate that feeling. o3o }

Deathnote smiled stiffly. "Alright." ______
"Cloudfeather has been pushed to her limits: her brother left without saying anything, and her mother perished not long after. She will cope with the help of her clan. Her brother will return, and she will change back to herself." We hope. Mudstar's head was now tilted downwards, staring at the bloodied gash on Darkwing's throat. "Boneshatter has always been delicate; after what happened when we were both apprentices, he was always touchy. Do you know what happened, Honeywhisker? Do you know why he suddenly decided to become a medicine cat? Why he drowned himself in herbs and lonliness?" Shaking her head, Mudstar felt older than she should. "I fear you're right, though: nothing good is coming. StrikeClan is in for a lot of hurting before we can be healed." __ Boneshatter slid into camp, Goldburn hot on his tail. His head was ducked, his ears pinned back, as if he were guilty of something, but the foreign tom was trotting through the camp as if he'd lived there for years. "I don't understand why you want to speak with Eagletalon," he muttered, glancing sideways as they slipped into his den. Nobody had seen them. "Mudstar's in charge around here." "I think Eagletalon will be a little more... ready to take action." Goldburn said, settling down near the entrance with a smile. Boneshatter left to fetch their Deputy, eyes darting back and forth in search of Eagletalon.

"well you're going to be there a while." Dawnshadow sniffed, resting her head on her paws and closing her eyes, "Cuz I'm not ocming out until you leave." __ Tiger nervously twitched her tail, "I'm thinking I might need that help." she squeaked as the water level rose to her chin, and the bottom wasnt showing any signs of getting shallower. __ Honeywhisker tilted ehr head, "what happened?" when she had been an apprentice, she had mostly stuck to herself, prefering to ignore everybody except her mentor, a decision she was coming to regret. __ Eagletalon glanced up as Boneshatter came into camp with a strange tom besdie him, hsi fur bristled uneasily, "what is going on here?" he asked, "who is this and why did you bring him here?" |

"You have to come out some time," Chain said simply. "And you'll find that I'm a very patient cat." __ Ravenfeather grunted, biting down on Tiger's scruff gently, lifting her above the surface as best as he could manage. The muscles in his neck felt sore almost immediately, but he didn't say anything and concentrated on trying not to slip and fall. __ Mudstar laughed, though it was not in good nature. "I was always a little bit of a trouble maker, you know, and one day Bone'paw' asked to come along. So we snuck out of camp and went exploring near the StoneClan border." Cringing, she couldn't look at Honeywhisker anymore. "We met a nice she-cat there. Dovepaw. She and her brother Falconpaw had snuck out as well. We started talking, and then we began to play and wrestle together. We'd sneak out every chance we got and played near the border." Wish a sigh, she glanced up at the other she-cat. "Please keep in mind that we were young and very stupid back then." Continuing, she meowed, "One day, a large silver tom found us playing with Dovepaw and Falconpaw near the border. He attacked Bone'paw'... But Dovepaw jumped in the way." She shook her head. "To this day, Boneshatter blames himself for her death. The guilt from that and Darkwing's death, well... I think it's pushed him over the edge. And Falconsight's attitude towards us doesn't help. He acts as if we have never been anything but enemies." __ Boneshatter glanced backwards at his den, where Goldburn's keen eyes were glowing in the shadows. "His name is Goldburn," he replied quietly, a small thread of fear working it's way down his spine. "He... he saved my life. And he wants to talk to you. About what, I'm not sure, but... he's from StoneClan."

Honeywhisker blinked, "I had no idea." she whispered, "and he still blames himself?" she looked down at Darkwing's body, "something we have in common then." her voice was low and mournful. __ Eagletalon stared into Holdburn's eyes, wary, but not hostile, "well wlets head what he has to say." he said, slinking into Boneshatters don, wathcing Goldburn every step of the way. ___ Tiger felt as helpless as a kit, shervering lightly un Ravenfeather's jaws and trying to swim to help him along a little. __ Dawnshadow snorted, "well then I hope you're forgetful." she teased. |
