Goldburn sat down next to Cloudfeather pointedly, smiling at her. His shoulders were relaxed, his claws sheathed, and his eyes open and friendly. "Hello," he meowed, not waiting for her to give her name. "My name is Goldburn."

Mudstar nodded, and with a grim smile, climbed ontop of high rock. She paused, thinking for a moment, and then let out a very loud yowl; a few birds in the distance fled from their perches.

Jadewhisper slid into the clear and sat down, not noticing Goldburn, as the camp reaked of StoneClan anyways. She didn't looked for Shadefang, though she desperately wanted to.

~

Boneshatter heard Mudstar's yowl, but figuring it was about Goldburn, cared not to return to camp. He sat near his favourite oak and stared blankly at one of the leaves that had fallen on the ground. StarClan, he thought numbly, Why has thou forsaken me?

I'm forgetting someone lol.

Ravenfeather frowned. "When I was... well, when the wolves..." he shook his head, unable to get the words out right. "When I was dying, Tiger... I saw my mother. She was there with us. Cougarstar died after we left the Clan. S-She said she could help me... but she'd never come back again or whatever. She said she was going to enfuse her life force into me or something..." He shook his head. "I feel like it was a dream, but I know it was real. Should I tell the others, though? That Cougarstar is dead? That she's not in StarClan?"

Chain shook his head. "No offense, but Clan cats aren't very careful, are they? So willing to go to this 'StarClan' you speak of..."

"Of course!" Tessa said, giggling. 

Cloudfeather flicked her ears, to show she heard, but not answering him for a moment, "Cloudfeather." she said after a while, looking up at high rock to see what Mudstar had to say, no doubt it would be about Goldburn.

__

Honeywhisker slunk back into camp after hearing Mudstar's yowl. She sat down near the camp entrance, choosing to keep out of view.

__

Shadefang sat down a short distance from Jadewhisper, glancing over at Goldburn, then back to Mudstar, awaiting an explanation.

Tiger tilted her head, "Cougarstar is dead?" then she shook her head, "Personally, I don't believe it would have been real, you mothers dead spirit coming to you and saving you? Doesn't sound like anyhting that could be real."

Batear shrugged, "its the way we were raised. The Clan is put above yourself, you give whatever is necessary, even if it is your life. But our dead are never really gone, they go to StarClan, and watch over us. Sometimes, we can even speak to them in dreams, or feal their presence when we need them. Mostly, they only speak with Medicine Cats and Leaders."

Tiger shrugged, "maybe its jsut a gut feeling telling you something happened, and then your subconcious made it into a dream."

"Careless? Not really. Not being afraid to die for a cause is different than not caring at all. Its different when you're defend somebody else, helping the helpless." Then she smiled fro a moment, "I think StarClan is watching over you right now, seen as how we would have gotten nowhere without you. Especially after the wolves attacked."

Shadefang glanced over at Goldburn again, but not wanting him to feel uncomfortable, he just rose to his pawsn and padded to the freshkill pile, grabbing a small mouse and padding to his favorite spot in camp to eat his meal.

Cloudfeather turned her head to look at Goldburn, "well well," she began, "A hero. Are you going to join in a fight against your own clan?" she asked

Eagletalon nodded, "you wont even know I'm here." he said with a laugh.

Tiger shook her head, "I jsut dont see how its possible," her tailtip twitched as a random breeze that rustled no trees or leaves ruffled her damp fur, "but if you say so."

"But Dawnshaodw was injured in the fight too," Batear pointed out, "not nearly as bad as Ravenfeather, mind you, but enough that she needed a few hours rest, she would have been unable to help as quickly as you did."

__

Shadefang shrugged, "Just decided it was finally time to eat, I'll probably talk to Eagletalon about taking dusk patrol, care to join me?"

Eagletalon smirked for an instant, then sat down outside the den, looking out at the camp with a somber ex
pression.

Cloudfeather lashed her tail, then rose to her paws, looked up to Eagletalon, "I will come back to take your place at Moonhigh," she told the brown tabby, who dipped his head in response. Cloudfeather slipped silently out of camp, her white and silver fur gllimmering in the fading reddish-orange light that filtered through the trees.

"What's a Boneshatter?" Chain asked, slightly confused. "Sounds morbid. Is that a Cat from your Clan?"

"Alright," Jadewhisper purred heartily. "Then go ask Eagletalon and we'll get this show on the road."

~

Boneshatter froze, closing his icy blue eyes slowly. She had smelled him. He cleared his throat, as if searching for his voice, and called out calmly, "Is that you, Cloudfeather?" Of course it was. He knew that. "I could ask you the same thing, you know." 

Batear couldnt help but laugh, "Boneshatter is our medicine cat, hes the one who taught Dawnshadow about herbs, his name may seem rather morbid, but hes really not that bad, he gives really good advice if you need it."

Shadefang nodded, before trotting over to EAgletalon, "did you set up a Dusk partol?" he asked the deputy.

Eagletalon blinked at him, "uh, no, actually, It slipped my mind, It's been a rather intresting day." he said, shaking his head

"Want me to set it up for you?" Shadefang offered and Eagletalon breathed a sigh of relief. Takin that as a yes, Shadefang bounded back to Jadewhisper, "Alright lets go."

"Touche." Cloudfeather said with a laugh, "but I asked you first."

Chain grinned. "Your names... I find them interesting. How do you aquire them?"

Jadewhisper clambered to her feet and grinned widely. "Alright." She started towards the camp entrance, nearly bouncing with energy each step she took.

~

He peeled open his eyes, watching as she walked into view. Boneshatter's chest released it's previous tightness, a slow but weary smile working its way onto his muzzle. "Looking for cobwebs for my paws," he confessed. "Though I got a bit side-tracked with my thinking." Glancing down at his torn claws, he winced, and blinked at her. "Now it's your turn to answer." 

Batear shrugged, "well, out parents give up the beginnings to out names, followed by kit when we were born, Like I was Batkit, and Dawnshadow was Dawnkit, and so on, then when we become apprentice's, we become 'paws,' I was Batpaw. Then we get out warrior names, I was givne the name Batkit wbecause I had huge ears that made me look like a bat, then when I got my warriors name, Wolfstar gave me the name Batear."

Cloudfeather sighed, "I needed to clear my head, I miss my mother, and Ravenfeather has gone who knows where, and I can't prove it, but I know Lonestar is responsible for Cougarstar's death, I jsut need to find some evidence that it was him, and now with both him and Goldburn here, I have a feeling we are going to get into some trouble"

Shadefang twitched his ears, "well someone has energy today." he teased gently.

"So your name is a combination of your parents choosing, and the Clan leader's choosing? How odd." Chain chuckled. "Though, I must admit, it is very suiting to all the Clan cats I've met. Each name seems to fit each cat perfectly."

"Goldburn saved my life," Boneshatter mumbled quietly, unable to find a way to comfort her any other way. He knew what she was going through, though his pain had had greater gaps between. His sister, Batear... had left him here as well. His parents were both dead. He felt sorry for her.

"It will be okay..." he meowed softly, listening as birds chirped loudly in the trees above them. "I swear on StarClan everything will turn out just right." He fought the urge to press his nose to her fur, his eyes growing shielded. "Would you like to sit with me? I'll be as silent as a mouse, if you wish me to be so."

"I'm always the happiest at the worst of times," Jadewhisper said, turning to look at him with a small smile. "It feels wrong to be cheerful after what happened... but I can't help it. I'm just happy to still be alive." 

Batear nodded her head, "I think StarClan helps with that, finding the perfect name I mean."

Cloudfeather sat and wrapper her tail around hr paws, looking at the ground, "I seriously doubt that, I mean, this wont end well." she turned her gaze to his, looking right into his eyes, "We both know there will be more bloodshed in the end, and there is almost nothing we can do to stop it."

Shadefang chuckled, "well somebody has to brighten us all up." he purred.

"How so?" Chain asked, watching as the sky began to change into a gorgeous pink-orange and darken.

"Almost nothing," Boneshatter replied solemnly. "If we fight with all we have, won't it turn out better for all of us, rather then if we just gave up?" He licked the soft, silky white fur on his chest. "Yes, there will be bloodshed... but significantly less if we just believe in StarClan and band together as a Clan to face whatever's coming."

"And you're going to leave that task to me?" Jadewhisper said with a snort. "Thanks." She laughed lightly. "So what do you think of that Goldburn character? He's a handsome tom, don't you think? I wonder why he really left his Clan." 

"Well, there are so many options, like Deathnote, it could have been Deathsong, but he was named Deathnote, which just fits so much better, so maybe StarClan helps leaders, but I'm not sure." Batear said with a shrug.

"Thats hard to do when we are missing half the clan." Cloudfeather said wtih a sigh, "I jsut hope they hurry back."

"I don't think hes handsome," Shadefang said with a laugh, "but thats for obvious reasons." he shrugged, "maybe he was driven out like Tiger was."

Chain smiled. "That's very interesting."

"I hope they do too," Boneshatter agreed sadly. "I miss my sister terribly. I want her to return back to me in one piece very soon." He sighed. "My den seems so much emptier when she isn't here to check in on me every so often."

"Maybe," Jadewhisper said thoughtfully. "But it was very nice of him to stick his neck out for us like that. How ironic that the Clan we have the worst rivalry with... is the Clan he comes from. Maybe not all StoneClan cats are bad like we think."

{ I say they run into the Tribe Cats and almost get attacked, until they see Dawnshadow. Cause Dawnshadow looks like her Aunt Cougarstar, right-O? }

((GENIOUS!! lol but yeah, Dawnshaodw looks a lot like Cougarstar, except she pas light tabby stripes, which Cougarstar did not XD I know how to get the tribe cats too.))

Cloudfeather shrugged, "Ravenfeather may not have been the most friendly of toms, but I still miss his complany."

Shadefang shrugged, "Just like Not all StrikeClan cats were as perfect as everone thought, I mean, just look at Dreamsplash, Tigerstar had total control over her."

Batear flicked her ears, "I thought so." she said wtih a laugh. A quick movement in the distance caught her eye, but she shook it off. A Bird maybe? She watched the spot for a moment longer, probably. Still, she couldnt shake the feeling that it hadn't been, and that they were being watched. Quit beign paranoid. She told herself, those wolves are long gone, and theres nothing else around here.......right?

"We don't know what we're missing until it's gone," Boneshatter said wistfully, giving her a once-over. Cloudfeather looked so much like Dovepaw... painful memories clawed their way through his mind, forcing him to shake his head and get rid of them. He tried to unsheath his claws, but as there was nothing left of them but some bloody flesh, he winced. 

"Perhaps you should seek company with other cats, then." he suggested airily. "Honeywhisker is quite distraught over... well... what happened." He couldn't say Darkwing's name. It forced his throat closed. Boneshatter smile weakly.

Jadewhisper thought of her older half-brother Snakefang, and smiled. "Not all is as meets the eye," she purred, wondering what Shadefang's secret was. Everyone had a secret... right?

Nobody noticed the sound. LOL
