"Well, I'm always here for you, Cloudfeather." Boneshatter meowed. "I do understand... but everything will clear up." He shook out his fur as he stood up. "I was never as close to my parents as you were, but it was anything but pleasant. Things will get better. I promise."

"They'd better," Jadewhisper meowed. she cast a wary look at the forest on the other side of the border.

Chain pricked his ears, tilting his head to the side as he watched Batear cautiously. "Erm... Did you hear something? What's wrong?" He peered into the trees around them, but didn't see anything. 

"I-." Batear trailed off for a moment, "I think It was just a bird." I hope it was a bird...

"Lets just get away frmo their border as quick as possible for right now." Shadefang said, picking up his pace slightly.

Cloudfeather flashed a smile, "thanks, I appreciate it, really." ((GAH fail))

"No problem," Bonehshatter replied, heartbeat pulsing in his throat. "Now. Why don't we walk to a stream or something? I could use a little excersize."

Jadewhisper nodded, trotting quickly so she could get away from there. The shadows looked darker; the angles of the forest sharper and more refined. She knew it was just her imagination, but Stoneclan's territory scared her.

"Oh. Alr-" Chain was cut off by a loud yowl, which ended abruptly. He stopped, as did Ravenfeather and Tessa. They looked around at each other, startled. "What was that?" he asked, turning to Batear for guidance.

Tessa felt her blood run cold. "Where's Deathnote?" she asked.

"State your name and business," growled a harsh voice in Deathnote's ear. The teeth that had clamped on his throat released him. He stared at the three cats surrounding him; all were build like Ravenfeather, large and threatening.

"T-travelling," he stuttered, eyes wide. "Name's Deathnote." He swallowed, shivering from head to toe.

"Now Deathnote," a large grey tom with amber eyes meowed slowly. "We're not going to hurt you... but we need you to be very quiet." He nodded at the orange tabby and white tom behind him. "Get the other ones." 

Batear pinned her ears back to her skull, "Not good, thats what it is." she hissed. She saw a dark blur alongside her, and Tiger tumbled into the undergrowth, hissing angrily.

Tiger slashed the muzzle of her attacker, and the black she-cat looked shocked, "Now do not fight me, or I will be forced to fight back." Tiger puffed up her fur and batted at teh she-cat again, and was struck upside her head from another cat, an orange tabby tom. Tiger blinked a few times, trying to clear the fuzz from her mind, but was stuck in a daze.

The tom started to head toward the rest of the group, but befroe tiger could call out to them, the black she-cat covered her mouth with her tail, "be still." she warned with a hiss.

Dawnshadow looked around, she saw the rest of the group not far off, but she had been basically on her own when Deathnote had yowled, she looked around her and nervously stepped backwards, unsure of what do do.

Shadefang let his shoulder lightly brush Jadewhispers, in an effort to help her relax.

Cloudfeather nodded her head, "that sounds perfect."

Ravenfeather went down- hard. Just as he had turned to help Tiger a white tom larger than himself pinned him down and stared into his chocolate brown eyes with oddly frightening dark blue ones. "You will be quiet," he hissed. "Or we will have to harm you. And we really don't want to do that." 

Ravenfeather glanced sideways at Tiger, relieved to see she was okay, simply exhaling and nodding at the tom.

Tessa's eyes were wide, head turning from side to side. "We're being picked off one by one," she squealed, fluffing out her dark brown fur. "I can't see Dawnshadow, or Tiger... or Ravenfeather or Deathnote!" She pressed herself against O'Brian, taking comfort in his size. "What's going on?"

~

Chain pressed his side against Batear's thinking nothing of it at the moment. "Where is everyone?" he hissed, eyes darting from side to side. "It's like we're being...ambushed." He fluffed out his pelt, arching his back.

His next words were cut off as something latched onto his back, leaping on him from behind, and flipped him backwards into the thick brush. He tumbled end over end with the mystery attacked, lashing out with unsheathed claws.

"Stop fighting," a feminine voice commanded him. "Or we'll be forced to retaliate. And you wouldn't like that, would you?" He stared up at the source of the voice- a sleek, attractive marbled brown tabby with golden eyes that practically glowed. She glared at him like he was some sort of thorn in her paw. 

"Yes, Ma'am," Chain mewed, looking around for Batear and the others. They were nowhere in sight.

Jadewhisper leaned into the gesture, making the gentle touch turn into one a little more... physical. She purred gently, but kept her eyes on the forest as if she didn't know what was going on.

~

"As I thought it would," Boneshatter purred, pointing with his tail towards his left. "Come. I can collect some herbs while we're there." He remembered hunting on his midnight runs with Dovepaw, when they'd sneak out without Mud'paw' and Falcon'paw'. Neither knew about their meetings, even to this day.

But this wasn't the same thing. He was a Medicine Cat.

"Hush." the Calico she-cat commanded, "River where fish jump will explain in time."

The old tim blinked in surprise, then and then an easy smile came across his face, "Welcome Dawnshadow, to the home of your mother. Is she well?"

Dawnshadow's gaze went to the ground, "she passed away a few moons ago." she said sadly.

The tom frowned, "I am sorry for it." he was quiet a moment, "I apologize, for my lack of manners, my name is River Where Fish Jump, but you may call me River." When Dawnshadow dipped her head in greeting, and River turned away, "Tribe of Starless Skies! These cats are not our enemies, in face, two of them are our kin." he yowled, a purr rumbling from his chest, then he looked back to Dawnshadow, "sorry for any inconveniece."

Tiger jumped to her feet as the Black she-cat stepped away, and immeadeately looked toward Ravenfeather, eyes quizzical.

O'Brian blinked in surpise as the brown tom simply stepped away from him. For a moment, he just stayed on the ground, then he jumped up, looking for Gucci, seeing her unharmed not far away, he relaxed.

The Calico she-cats blue eyes grew friendly, "See? I told you River would explain, we just had to make sure you weren't dangerous." she purred, "I am Blue Of The Sky, but you can call me Sky."((Shes going back, I might bring a tom with her, not sure XD))

Shadefang enjoyed the sounsd of the forest, the birds chirping as they headed back to their nests, the mice scurrying around, and the crickets beginning to chirp.

Cloudfeather nodded her head, "I guess that makes sense, but how can you even pick their scents out from the smells of the forest, there is jsut so much going on at once."

Ravenfeather pushed the white tom off of him, curling his lip in aggrivation. 

"The name's Cloud that floats in sky. It's nice to meet you...?" The white tom purred.

"Ravenfeather," he replied hoarsely. Immediately he pressed his nose into Tiger's fur and inhaled, unable to help but noticed his scent-StikeClan scent-was starting to rub off on her. "Are you alright?"

Chain got onto his paws, staring down the unfamiliar female cat who had pinned him down. "I am Chain," he muttered, eyes open and friendly. 

"I am Nettle that pricks paw. What's it to you?" she hissed. 

Chain gave Nettle a dirty look, and then turned to look for Batear. "Batear? Oh!" he padded up to her with a smile, Nettle that pricks paw, hot on his heals. She gave Batear a cold look. "There you are! Are you alright?"

Deathnote nodded at the brown tom that had kidnapped him, and smiled. "I'm Deathnote. Nice to meet you."

"I am Hawk that stalks prey. It is nice to meet you too."

Ignoring him, although he dipped his head, Deathnote wormed his way back towards the group, wanting to see if Batear and Dawnshadow were okay. He seethed silently when he saw Chain and Batear.

That tom was going to get it soon.

"H-Hello sky. My name's Tessa," she meowed. "It's nice to meet you... You aren't Clan cats, are you? Your names are different and you smell weird."

Jadewhisper said, quietly, finally breaking the silence, "So. This is nice."

Boneshatter smiled. "Dreamsplash taught me how to do that. She was..." he swallowed slowly, feeling the weight of her death again. "She was a wonderful mentor."

Sky laughed((shes a sweetheart, she should be nettle's sister XD)) "No, we are Tribe Cats, we know of the clans, but we are different. I'm taking it you aren't of the clans either?"

Tiger let a quick purr escep her throat, "I'm fine, and you?" Her amber eyes were full of concern, and she wondered how much more their small group could take, the storm, the wolves, the river, now these stange cats, what was next?"

Dawnshadow glanced over at Deathnote, "River," she padded over to her clanmate, "THis is Deathnote, he's the leader of our little group here."

River dipped his head, "Greetings, so may I ask, what is the meaning for your quest?" he asked.

Batear flashed a smile, "I'm just fine."

Shadefang smiled, "I couldnt agree more." he purred, "its a pity we have to head back to camp soon."

Cloudfeather smiled, "I'd believe it. She was a great cat, has she spoken to you at all in your Dreams?"

"No. I used to live with Two-legs," Tessa replied, making a face. "But I hated it so much I managed to escape. The Clan cats here have been welcoming enough."

"I'm better now," Ravenfeather confessed, turning up his eyes to look at the black she-cat that had bowled over Tiger. He kept his eyes even, making sure his claws were still sheathed. "Hello," he said curtly.

Deathnote dipped his head in reply, happy to see that Dawnshadow was still intact. "We're searching for two cats that were taken from our Clan. My brother and sister." He smiled. "Our ancestors have been leading us towards the mountains for a few weeks now."

{ No dumb Deathnote. >:C Essentially, Starclan sent you guys mixed messages because you're really just getting a bunch of Cats, and creating an army-like thing for when StoneClan attacks so StrikeClan will WHOOP. TAIL. }

"That's good to hear." Chain purred heartily, turning to glanced at the gather Clan cats, and the gather Tribe Cats. Nettle snorted from behind him, padding away to take her place beside her Father, River. {YEAH BRO. I WENT THERE.}

"Perhaps we could go for another lap, then?" Jadewhisper suggested lightly with a smily. "Or we could just spend the night out here somewhere, under the stars."

Boneshatter shook his head with a frown. "I haven't spoken to her since the day she died. It is almost as if she lies elsewhere. All that remains is her scent in my den." He shrugged. "The only cat that usually visits me in dreams is Wishcomet, and sometimes Wolfstar." 

Sky purred, "well you guys are welcome here too it seems." she said, "twolegs don't come up here much. and if they do, they dont stay long. I guess they don't like the cold." she said with a laugh.

THe black she-cat dipped her head, "greetings." she said, "welcome to Tribe of Starless Skies." she didn't bother introducing herself, but didn't feel the need to.

"Pardon her rudeness." came a friendly voice, out of the shadoes stepped a silver tabby tom wtih a white muzzle, paws, belly, and tail. His eyes were the same shade of Blue-grey as a stormy sky, "I am Storm On The Horizon, that charming she-car there is Shadow Of The Eagle." Shadow just snorted.

"My name is Tiger, and this is Ravenfeather." Tiger said, dipping her head politely.

"So I see." Rover said, contemplating momentarily, "It is getting dark, these mountains are dangerous at night, would you like to stay with us for the night?"

Shadefang sighed, "tempiting, but don't we have to report back to Eagletalon? Wouldnt want him to worry."

"Sometimes I wonder what it must be like to meet StarClan cats in your deams, I would love to get the cahnce to speak to my father again, or my mother now." CLoudfeather sighed, "but I suppose I will again someday."

"Speaking with the dead is like cutting open an old wound, Cloudfeather," Boneshatter said softly. "All it does is bring more pain. It solves no problems, and nothing you can do can bring them back."

"A little more worrying can't do him any harm," Jadewhisper purred seductively. "Besides, we all know he'll be busy watching over Mudstar tonight."

Deathnote thought for a moment, unsure of whether or not he should make a decision like that. "Well... yes, thank you. We'd love to stay the night." He dipped his head. "Let me gather my cats for a moment to share the news."

Tessa giggled, and seeing Deathnote come close she figured it'd be best to go see what he wanted. "I have to go, Sky," she meowed. "But I hope to see you again soon!" She padded over to Deathnote and smiled, though he didn't return it.

Ravenfeather dipped his head, though the gesture was not a warm one. "Deathnote wants us," he murmured to Tiger, seeing the other tom cast them a look of importance. "Come." He stood up and brushed past both Trive cats coldly.

He immerged from the trees, pale lamp-like yellow eyes trained on O'Brian and Gucci. His solid gray coat glimmered in the light given off by the setting sun. "I am Soot that comes from fire." he greeted the cats in a flat tone marred with an odd accent. "Your cats are gathering together, and I saw you sitting here alone. I thought it would only be polite to bring this to your attention."

Chain nudged Batear. "Come, I think Deathnote is calling some sort of gathering!" he got onto his paws and padded over to the gathering Clan cats. He looked back at his friend and smiled.

"Your parents are very proud of you," Boneshatter insisted. "Your mother especially."

"Someone sounds like he doesn't want to," Jadewhisper teased back. "You afraid of the big bad wolf or something?"

Deathnote cleared his throat, feeling a bit awkward posing as the Clan cat's "leader" (a role he felt more suited to be Batear), and shifted his weight back and forth. "We've been invited to stay with the Tribe Cats for the night," he meowed, ignoring the small groan that earned from Ravenfeather. "So that's what we're going to do. Any objections?"

Ravenfeather looked miserable, but said nothing. He just glanced sideways at River, with his daughters standing on each side of him. Both Sky and Nettle were attractive she-cats, making his gaze linger a little longer than necessary.

Nettle curled her lip and shot him a dark, menacing look, making him flush and turn his attention back to his Clan-mates. 

Chain shook his head. "No problem here."

Tessa grinned, looking over at Sky. "That sounds great. Good thing I've made a friend already."

Soot smiled graciously, looking amused. It was hard to tell because his eyes were extremely hard to read. "Eh. I tink it vould be unvise for me to meddle in ze affairs of your little Tribe." He got onto his paws. "I vill accompany you over dere, though, seeing as I must speak to my friend Hawk who is not too far avay." He nodded, and starting to pad in that direction. "Come, little Tribe Cats."

"Those cats are nothing but trouble," Nettle complained to her father and sister. "They will do nothing but bring harm upon us! I know it! They're all rotten." She snorted. "A few of them may have Tribe blood, but they are only half. A disgrace." 

Cloudfeather sighed, "maybe they are now, but what about in the future? What If I make mistakes?"

Sky rolled her eyes and looked over at Nettle, "I really don't see the harm in letting them stay one night, they don't seem lik ethey have anything against us, and two of them are even our kin!"

River looked at the small group, "Do not be an Ungracaious host Nettle." his gaze was on Ravenfeather, "that one is of as strong Tribe blood as you, I can sense it in him. Cougar of the Mountain's spirit is within him."

Tiger nudged Ravenfeather with her shoulder, "well someone likes you." she teased, referring to the hostile gaze he had getten from Nettle.

Batear dipped her head, "sounds great, a safe place to spend the night sounds great."

Gucci cuckled softly, enjoying Soot's accent, "sounds good."

O'Brian flicked his ears, "seems like we are staying here tonight, from what I can hear.

River glanced over at Sky, "show them the way back to our camp, and make sure they get some food in their bellies."

"Yes father." Sky said, getting up and padding over to Deathnote, "follow me, so we can get back befroe dark." she said, with a friendly smile.

River then turned his attention to Soot, "The Clan cats have always been intresting, but what intrigues me about this group is they are made up of jsut as many loners and kittypets as warriors." he said, tailtip twitching.

Tiger chuckled softly, "oh thats too bad, she seems to really enjoy your company."

Shadefang twitched his tailtip, "are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked.

Cloudfeather sighed, "I hope you're right." she muttered quietly.

The Russian blue tom nodded. "Dat is very true as vell." His tail curled up pleasantly as he purred lightly. "I remember coming to de Tribe as a loner myselv ven my Two-leg's ship sank. Very sad... I vonder how dey found each other. Dey all seem very far avay from home."

Deathnote smiled back, nodding. "Lead the way."

Ravenfeather gave Sky a dubious look, staying close to Tiger as they began to follow the pretty she-cat. "Who doesn't enjoy my company?" he teased under his breath to her. 

Tessa stuck to O'Brian like he was honey and she was a bee. Being around more large cats was making her uneasy, as they had been hostile for mere moments before. "I'm scared," she confessed in a whisper to him.

"I'm positive," Jadewhisper purred as she disappeared furth into the heart of StrikeClan territory. "Come on!"

Boneshatter nodded with a ghost of a smile. "Of course I'm right," he meowed. "I'm a medicine cat." He paused, gazing upwards for a moment. "We should probably get back to camp," he mumbled. "It's getting dark and I'm sure cats will start to get suspicious." On the inside, he wanted to sit here forever but he knew he ought to return back to camp. He wouldn't want Cloudfeather to get in trouble.
