River wrapped his tail around his paws, "Chance maybe?" his silver-blue eyes went up to the sky, "or maybe Deathnote's warrior ancestors have somethign else in mind for this group."

Tiger thought for a moment, "Mice. I don't think they would like to be in your company for very long."

O'Brian tilted his head, "why? These cats can't be any more dangerous then the CLan cats."

Shadefang chuckled and shook his head, following her deeper into the forest.

Cloudfeather snorted, "jsut because you are a medicine cat, doesnt make you always right."

River nodded, "I'm sure Sky can handle it, but that seems like a good idea." he said, rising to his paws.

Tiger laughed, "I'm so sure joy is the feeling they have around you." she purred, flicking his ear with her tail.

O'Brian shrugged, "maybe its just because you are so small." he teased lightly.

Sky stopped at what looked like a sheer wall of rock, "we are here." she purred. She padded along the wall until she reached a mossy boulder that had a space behind it just large enough for a cat. Once through, it widened into a tunnel, before finally opening up to reveal a huge cave, with a large hole in the top, where the sky was visible, but a layed of clouds bocked out the stars, "Welcome to the Tribe of The Starless Night." she purred in a voice that sounded almost magical.

"Because we all make mistakes." CLoudfeather pointed out, the humor back in her icy-blue eyes.

Sky pointed to the far side of the cave with her tail, "see those little Den's over there? Any one that you find open is yours." she said, "at least for the night anyway."

Tiger's amber eyes were wide with amazement, "wow." she breathed.

Storm entered the cave beside Tiger, "Breathtaking isnt it?" he purred, "but not so much as you forest she-cat." he said with a wink. Tiger felt her face grow warm as she looked from the cave to the handsome tom speaking to her.

O'Brian nodded in agreement, "Well this is something you will only get to see once in your life." he said, "Unless of course you're a tribe cat."

Cloudfeather nodded, "Its easier to find faults in others than to see them in yourself sometimes."

{ Ravenfeather is about to go INSANE on Storm. :I He doesn't like to share. }

Deathnote nodded, and began to walk that way, looking for the company of Batear to calm him down. She seemed to be close. "What do you think?" he asked her quietly.

Chain walked in with Dawnshadow, in an oddly pleasant mood. "You're half-Tribe they said, right?" he asked with a smirk. "This must feel like a second home to you then."

~

Ravenfeather's snarl seemed to echo in the cave as he whipped his head to the side, glaring at Storm forcefully. "Your face isn't going to be very breath-taking when I'm done with it." He fluffed out his fur, glad to see that he was about the same size of Storm.

~

Soot nodded his head at Ravenfeather and Storm as he and River entered the cave. His laugh was quiet. "Dat vun, he haz Tribe spirit in him, no?" he seemed amused. "I can see dat he and Storm vill get along very nicely."

~

Tessa jumped at Ravenfeather's snarl, but remained impassive. She replied to O'Brian instead, "The view is romantic. I almost wish we could stay a little longer." Then, realizing what she'd said, Tessa flushed under her pelt. "I-I mean... Let's go find somewhere to rest."

~

Nettle's eyes glinted as she watched the large grey-black Clan cat snap at Storm. She knew that they would be trouble. But had River listened to her? No. He never did.

~

Boneshatter paused for a moment, locking eyes with her. He had to physically remind himself to breath by pressing the stumps of his claws to the ground painfully. "And what faults do you see in me, Cloudfeather?" he asked cautiously. Oh StarClan what am I saying?

Batear looked around the cavern once more, "I think we should be grateful for the Tribe's hospitality, but let's not stay too long," she glanced pointedly at Ravenfeather, "I don't think all of us are happy to have found a place to stay."

Dawnshadow blinked, "it feels weird to be here, something about these mountains just makes me feel more alive. I wonder why my mother ever left."

__

Storm smirked, a cocky grin on his face, "Is that a threat?" he asked, keeping his composure, "because it sounds like a pretty weak one." he taunted.

Tiger pinned her ears back, unsure of what to do, "Ravenfeather, don't." she pleaded, but her voice was really quiet, "I don't think its a good idea to start fights." she doubted he even heard her, over the whispers coming from all around them as the Tribe Cats watched.

__

River chucked softly, "Storm was just itching to start something, I have a feeling his arrogance will get him into trouble one day." he shook his head, "Its best we don't interfere, unless it gets out of hand."

_

O'Brian fought the urge to smile at Tessa's words, "why leave just yet? I like it out here, I might not even go into the caves." he purred.

Cloudfeather studied his eyes fro a moment, "I see a lot of secrets, and pain. You hold back too much, and blame yourself for things that were out of your control." she said, sounding wise beyond her years. Even after she stopped talking, she couldnt look away.

Dawnshadow shrugged, "Mym other had sight when she arrived at the Clans, but lost it soon after, maybe she just didn't want to come back and not be able to see this."

Batear laughed, "I suppose you're right."

__

"Couldnt be looking at my reflection." Stars said wtih a grin, finally unsheathing his claws, "I've never been that ugly." He knew he was heading for a fight, but that was just the way he liked it.

__

River's eyes glimmered, "I may not be as young as I once was, but I could still outfight any of you kits." he teased lightly.

__

O'Brian shrugged, "taht makes two of us I guess." he said with a grin, "they don't pay much attention to me either."

Cloudfeather looked up at the sky, what am I thinking? This is not a good idea, I should be in the warriors den, like a good cat...Her thoughts trailed off, "yeah, I love beign able to see Silverpelt on nights this clear." she purred.

"That feeling is called jealousy." Storm hissed, not wavering a bit, "You must be pretty used to it by now." He kept the arrogant grin on his face, and besides unsheathing his claws, he made no move to attack, preferring to use snarky remarks for as long as they lasted.

River looked between Storm and Ravenfeather a moment longer, "no, lets test their patience, both seem to be waiting for the battle to come to them, and I'm rather enjoying this battle of wits." he said with a slight chuckle.

 "two, if you count Sky." O'Brian pointed out.

__

Dawnshadow dipped her head to Deathnote and Batear, "i don't think Ravenfeather and Tiger will be joining us anytime soon.

Cloudfeather shrugged, "I guessed. You're eyes are guarded, so you obviously have scars to hide, and I notice little things, and how they affect you, like Darkwings death, it wasn't your fault, yet you vanished after, no doubt thats when you did that damage to your paws." she said without ever once looking from the sky.

Storm laughed, "You're right, my mother didn't love me, otherwise I wouldnt be here, I'd be a rouge jsut like that little she-cat whose honor you feel the need to defend." His eyes went from enjoying the argument, to guarded and hostile, "So maybe I haven't felt love, but I know jealousy." he hissed.

River tensed his muscled, "I think Ravenfeather unwittingly crossed a line." he muttered, mostly to himself, watching Storm's mood change.

__

O'Brian smiled, "well, thats one more than I had yesterday."

Cloudfeather shook her head, "No, I don't have my mother's ambition to be leader. I was quite content to leave that to Mudstar when she became deputy, I just want to be the best I can be, nothing more, nothing less."

"Your mother made the right choice," Ravenfeather continued coldly, feeling no need to leave him space to breath. His intimidating brown eyes narrowed. "It's a shame this Tribe didn't do the same." He braced himself for Storm's blow, something in the back of his mind pulsing brightly like a light.

Soot shook his head sadly. "Perhaps. Dis vill be very interesting to vatch. Niether seems very inclined to strike first dough." He watched closely, tensing. 

~

"And I have two more than I had yesterday," Tessa meowed brightly, sitting down. "We're making new friends all the time, aren't we?"

~

"You are already the best you can be," Boneshatter informed her warmly. "You have yet to show your true potential though. Sometimes I feel like you are holding something back." 

Storm bared his teeth, "I'm going to make you eat those words." He snarled, lunging at Ravenfeather and knocking him over backwards. He lifted his paw a brought it across Ravenfeather's face as hard as he could, grinning maliciously when he saw blood.

River's eyes remained calm as Storm attacked Ravenfeather, "Allow the warrior to retaliate before splitting them up, an eye for an eye." he said.

__

O'Brian chuckled, "thats always a good thing, back at the twoleg place, even when we did get let outside, we almost never talked to the other cats, they were all stuck up."

"Like what?" CLoudfeather asked, turning her head to look at him curiously.

Ravenfeather gritted his teeth, closing his left eye as blinding pain and blood ran through it. He dug unsheathed claws into Storm's belly, throwing him off easily. Rolling onto his paws, he only staggered slightly, as he was unused to battling with one eye. He puffed out and hissed.

Soot rose to his paws. "Now, River?"

~

"I never stayed in one place for long," Tessa explained wistfully. "I was too 'wild' for any of the Two-legs to keep me."

~

Boneshatter could hear his heartbeat in his ears. For once in his life, he didn't have an answer. "I-I don't know," he stuttered quietly. "I can't think of anything specific." 

River nodded once to Soot, a simple gesture that was hardly noticeable, but its meaning clear.

_

O'Brian laughed, "well mine found me on the side of the road, I was hurt so I couldnt leave right away, and by then I had realised Gucci would be lost without somebody to look after her, so I stayed."

__

Storm smirked malevolently, "THat all you got warrior? Come on, I expected at least a slight challenge." he taunted, a few droplets of his blood falling from his belly to the ground. The wound stung a bit, but he didnt mind, the adrenaline pumping through his body, he knew it would bea lot worse once the fight was over.

"Some cats are just not made to battle," Boneshatted replied thoughtfully. "Not all warriors enjoy fighting... perhaps you should stay with me next time there is another fight, then, if you're frightened of hurting another cat. You could help me pass out herbs and such; I have no apprentice, after all."

 Ravenfeather struck with one paw; his claws sliced through the fur and flesh at the base of Storm's neck. They came back stained red, and not one to wait, he lunged and pinned Storm down.

Soot padded over calmly, the other Tribe cats watching wide-eyed, and pulled Ravenfeather off like he was a small kit. He stood between the two roughed-up toms, pale yellow eyes unwavering. "Vu two should know better dan dat," he grumbled at them. "Now both of vu go to your dens; vun leetle she-cat is not vorth any bloodshed."

Ravenfeather only snorted, lifting his head. He glared at Soot with one eye and got onto his paws. He padded towards the entrance to the cave; brushing past Nettle, who was watching him with pleased eyes.

Nettle joined her father just as Soot did, sitting down next to him. "I told you," she purred.

Soot gave her a long look; he had no respect for River's first-born.

Tessa chuckled. "Gucci's lucky, then," she purred. "...Where is she, by the way?"
