Dawnshadow shook her head, "this is really confusing." she whispered quietly to Deathnore, pressing closer to him.

Cloudfeathers blue eyes widened, "no! He-he couldnt wan't to leave." she said, shaking her head, her voice got hushed, "what happens when Cougarstar is gone? Who will I have then? And don't tell my mother, but I know that she's on her last life. I was there when she lost it, but I was sick too, and she thought I was asleep." She closed her eyes and bowed her head, "he cant leave. I don't know what I'd do."

Tiger tilted her head, "Boneshatter told me something intresting, you need to earn the right to be bitter, what has happened to him to make him so angry?" she asked.

Honeywhisker ran into Ravenfeather as she brough back the rest of her prey, "whats wrong now?" she asked, tilting her head.

"Why would you care?" Ravenfeather spat, lashing his tail at her.

"I'm not sure," Jadewhisper said. "He took his Father's death pretty roughly, but he was nasty before that. He just got nastier." She sighed. "There's one in every bunch, Tiger. My older half-brother Snakefang was pretty mean too."

"The rest of the Clan would still be here," Mudsplash said. "And besides, wouldn't you rather he be gone and happy, than here and miserable?" She sighed. "Nobody said he was going to leave. Perhaps he will stay."

Deathnote backed up a little bit. "I'm leaving," he said loudly. "I've have enough of these...lies." He frowned, turning his back on Elder.

Elder only called a goodbye and wished them goodluck. 

Dawnshadow dipped her head to Elder, "may we someday meet again, and may StarClan light your path." she purred. For some reason, she trusted the old cat, even though she had no idea why. She turned and followed Deathnote. Once she was outside the tunnel, she jumped over the rail so she was outside the bulls ben, she looked at the huge crature, completely and utterly confused.

For once, Honeywhisker didnt jump at the opportunity to get in a fight. She just shrugged, "well, usually I don't, and I want to try something new for a change. You might want to try it sometimg too, like maybe you could smile." she sneered sarcastically.

Cloudfeather sighed, "your right, I'll talk to him tomorrow. We better let him calm down from this whole rouge incident first." she said.

__

Tiger chuckled, "and what about Honeywhisker? She just seems like a happy little kit all the time." she said. She was grateful to Honeywhisker, if she hadent stumbled upon Tiger, she would have died. She owed the grumpy black and gold she-cat her life. And she wouldnt soon forget it.

Deathnote followed, hopping on the rail with one last look at the bull. It snorted, shuffling around in its pen. For a moment, he felt bad for it because it was locked up all the time, then a wave of anger swept over him. That bull had killed his mom and dad. Why should he care about how it felt?

Hopping down, he trudged through the pig pen soundlessly, climbing back out the window. He felt dull.

"There's nothing to smile about," Ravenfeather hissed. "I'm stuck in this dump of a clan with cats like YOU." He brushed past her, disappearing into the forest.

"We should," Mudsplash said, yawning slightly as she watched the entrance of the camp.

~

"Honeywhisker is grumpy," Jadewhisper said as she sat down. "But she has a heart, and feelings. Ravenfeather would slit a cats through in their sleep if he wanted. The only reason he doesn't is his sister and mother." She frowned. "Cougarstar is his mother; he gets away with anything he wants because she can't banish her own son."

She sighed. "And I don't blame her. I wouldn't be able to either." 

HOneywhisker hissed angrily, spinning around and bolting after him, "cat's like me? I'm sorry, but you hardly know me. Its not like I've ever really talked to you before, so where do you get off catogorizing me with them?" she snarled.

Tiger nodded, "Who would? I mean, hes her kit, hes like, part of her." she asid.

__

Dawnshadow had to run to keep up with Deathnote, "are you okay?" she asked softly.

__

"Not really," Deathnote mumbled. "I'm pretty confused and mad." He blinked at one of the cows, fur standing on end.

Jadewhisper shrugged. "I'll never really understand until I have kits of my own, I guess."

"Oh just bugger off," Ravenfeather snapped. "Since when do you care what I think of you?" He snorted, turning off onto an old two-leg trail. "Go back to camp, Honeywhisker."

Homneywhisker bit back a sharp retort, and stared at the ground, "I always cared." she muttered under her breath. The realization hitting her like a monster on steroids. She did care what everyone else though. Tears stung her eyes, all her anger and frustration was her pretending she didnt care, it was masked pain. And now that pain lashed at her with sharp claws. They thought they had seen anger. THey hadent seen anything yet. Now she was pissed.

Tiger nodded in agreement, "I'm right there with you." she said, letting her guard down a little bit more.

__

"Well I do't think it was Elder's foult your parents died, nor is he at fault for your missing siblings. Maybe Boneshatter knows something, he always seems to know everything."

"That's because Boneshatter has some freaky psychic powers or something." Deathnote joked, smiling weakly. "Perhaps he knows if Elder was telling the truth."

Jadewhisper chuckled. "Well then look around. There's a lot of toms in StrikeClan that are open." She winked. "I've already got my eyes on a specific one though."

Ravenfeather stopped walking, thinking about the many times he'd wonder where Honeywhisker was, or what she was doing. He cared too, but not enough to say anything. "Always?" he asked, not turning around to look at her. "You've always cared?" 

"only one way to find out." Dawnshadow purred, trotting briskly toward camp.

Honeywhisker snorted, "yeah, but not like it bothers you at all. Don't let me cramp your style." she hissed, turning and padding toward the river, her favorite place to sit and think.

"Care to tell?" Tiger purred, nudging Jadewhisper with her shoulder.

Tiger chuckled, "well what does he look like?" she asked. glancing around camp.

Dawnshadow looked up at the sky, the sunlight glimmered off her sleek, tawny fur, "It's like StarClan speaks though him." she said softly.

Hanoeywhisker stared blankly into the waters surface, "Life hurts. And then you die. Thats kind of how it works. My aunt, Poppyseed, had a total meltdown when her mate Birdfall died. My dad told me about her, he said I was kind of like her. Poppyseed wouldnt let anyone in after a pack of dogs killed Birdfall. She wouldnt talk to anyone, she hardly ate, and didnt even hunt. Do you want to be miserable your  whole life?" she asked, "Don't you ever get lonely?"

"No." Ravenfeather said. "Not really. I prefer to keep to myself anyways. My sister's always there but..." He sighed, dipping a paw in the water, watching it ripple and mess up his reflection. When it cleared again, he saw a cat peering over his shoulder.

With a yowl, he whirled around, striking with unsheathed claws. The tom didn't move, and only blinked his harsh yellow eyes at Ravenfeather. Blood dripped from the new claw marks on his shoulder. "I'm looking for Deathnote and Dawnshadow," he rumbled. "They'll be coming this way soon; they're coming back from the Horse place. Tell them to come see me."

Boneshatter turned around and left, leaving Ravenfeather to fume. "He shouldn't scare me like that..."

"For a powerful tom," Deathnote meowed, thinking of Boneshatter's bulk size and muscle tone, "He's awfully gentle." He trotted towards the river.

"Shadefang is a thickset tom with charcoal-gray fur that is full of Jet-Black stripes. He has intense blue eyes, and its like looking straight into his sould when you look into them. He's pretty muscular." She sighed, blinking at Tiger. "Don't tell ANYONE what I think of him though, okay?" Her fur burned warm.

Honeywhisker bit back a laugh, "he does that to everyone in case you haven't noticed."

Tiger laughed, "dont worry! who am I going to tell? its not like I have many friends." she pointed out.

Ravenfeather snorted. "Then remind me to hit an eye next time."

"I'm your friend," Jadewhisper said, smiling. "And so is Honeywhisker." 

Honeywhisker laughed, "Or you could try being nice."

Tiger was shocked for a moment, "wow. Even in StoneClan I didnt have many friends." she said with a short laugh, "you guys are already better than them."

Dawnshadow smiled, "but at least he isnt mean." she said.

"That's not hard to accomplish though," Jadewhisper laughed.

"Thank StarClan he isn't mean. I heard Limefeather was a tough Medicine Cat, and so was DreamSpash." Deathnote meowed, drawing close to the river. "Hey Honeywhisker!" he called, smiling as he ignored Ravenfeather.

"Hi to you too," he hissed. "Boneshatter is waiting for you two in his den. You might want to go see him." Ravenfeather pawed at the water a little more viciously now. 

Honeywhisker dipped her head in greeting to Deathnote and Dawnshadow, "hes right, Boneshatter said he was expecting you two." she said.

Dawnshadow laughed, "see? I told you so! He knows more than he should!" she said, shaking her head.

Tiger smiled, "very true, but they took me in when I needed a home, so I guess I'm pretty grateful. They trained me to be a warrior of their clan, I know the warrior code, and I followed it, but for some reason, Lonestar said i couldnt be a warrior there." she said with a sigh.

Deathnote rolled his eyes. "Whatever Dawnshadow." He smiled at Honeywhisker again. "Thanks for telling me!" He trotted off with Dawnshadow again, tail tip twitching.

"He likes you," Ravenfeather said, staring into the water. "You can tell by the way he talks." Slight jealousy prickled his fur.

"Why would that be?" Jadewhisper meowed. "You didn't do anything wrong did you? Or did you say something to Lonestar that he didn't like?" 

Tiger looked at her paws, "well, I might have mentioned that Rainstar's death was a little unexpected. and he kind of freaked out."

Honeywhisker blinked in suprise, then looked at Ravenfeather, "really? Well by the look of it, Dawnshadow likes him." she said.

Dawnshadow's whiskers twitched with anticipation, "I wonder how much Boneshatter knows." she purred.

"I bet he knows as much as StarClan does!" Deathnote said, smiling as they entered the camp.

Ravenfeather said, stretching out, "I wouldn't doubt it." He blinked lazily, tail flicking back and forth across the ground. "And what a pair they make."

Jadewhisper was silent. "You mean he killed Rainstar?" she squeaked, glancing at Tiger.
