She shook her head and looked at him. "I wouldn't make you soft.... And, I wouldn't get in your way, for you to even think I'm an enemy?" she snorted. She quickly felt her heart drop as he mentioned the creature... "Y-Yes..." she stuttered and put her hands in her pockets. Her face turned pale and she looked up at him. "What about it?"

He stood and went to the window, looking outside at the night sky. "That creature................." He wanted to say it, but was afraid to...afraid of even more rejection. He then did the only thing he knew. He went to the door and left. As he left, he said it...he admitted to her a part of what he was even though, that creature wasn't a full shift. "That was me." He was then gone, returning back to fight the war that had started centuries before.

She bit her toung and watched him leave. She didn't know what to say even though he wasn't their, and she didn't know what to do. She sat their and thought for a second. Then, the tears began to stream from the pain that began to rush inside her. She was calm on the outside, but she was screaming like hell on the inside. He had plotted to kill her once, what about next time he was like that.... What if it got to far, and he did kill her...The thoughts began to pile in her mind, and the trail of tears began to rush even more.

-Five Months Later-
He returned to the cabin that she was at. He didn't sense her or the dogs. He knocked on the door and waited for an answer. When he didn't hear one he hooked a moon flower in the curved handle of the door and went and sat at the top of a nearby tree, hiding amongst the branches. He really wanted to see her, but was afraid to see her reaction.

She returned from a long trail ride, that lasted all day long. She put her horse in the stall and took off all the tack. She called the dogs, and they came running. She sighed and began home. She was alone now, no one to really trust since the night he had left. She walked to the house, looking at her feet the whole time. Soon, she made it to the steps and trailed up them. She turned round, and the dogs wasn't by her side. "Chance! Sadie!" she called. Still, not even a russtle of moving snow was to be heard.

He saw the dogs under the tree looking up at him with tails wagging. He put a finger to his lips, telling them to be quiet without a word or sound. He then pointed to their master and they ran back to her. His smiled as he watched them, and her.

She smiled a little and turned back to the door. She looked at the handle and raised an eyebrow. Someone had been at her house and left a flower. She unhooked the flower from the handle and smiled a bit. She had a clue who it was from, but then had her doubts. Why would he come back? At least why would he come back with no warning, or because of what had happened that night. She sat at the door and covered herself in her heavy coat. She then began to wonder if he was still their. She stood back up and spoke german to the dogs, telling them to stay. She then headed out to find him. "Hello?" she called out, holding the flower by the stem, tightly in her hand, scared he'd be gone already without a word spoken.

He grinned and dropped to the ground in front of her, holding a second moon flower but this one in a small pot. The flower was also a pale blue, almost purple, in color. "I'm sorry it took so long for me to return." He looked away. "I'm sorry about how I just left you that night...without waiting for a response. I know that you probably hate me now...but if that is the case..." He looked up with a determined look in his face. "then I'll just have to find a way to win you over." A smile threatened to show itself to her.

She looked up at him with concern, and yet a slight bit of anger. She looked down and smiled at the words that had so swiftly fallen out of his mouth, and yet, smiling at the flower at the same time. She looked up at him and a small laugh blurted out. "I was alone for 5 months... You were gone for a long time. Yet, I didn't even hear a word from you, needless to say, I thought you died without knowing where you went. I started searching for you, but not even a sign of you turned up." she growled. "You could have at least sent a letter..." she sighed. She bit her lip and looked at the glowing snow, reflecting off the moonlight. "I don't hate you.... I just wish you'd have said something, or done something to let me know where you were, and that you were OK." She sighed and looked away, shivering a bit from the cold. "Winning me over would be hard..." she said and turned from him and started off to the house.

"Then should I start by chopping fire wood for you, and getting a fire started to heat you up?" He felt bad. He should have let her know how things stood.

She shrugged " Sure... Come in when your done." she sighed and began into the house, carrying her flowers at rest in her arms.

He got a bunch of the logs and summoned an ax. He then went to work. In no time he had it all chopped and stacked neatly against the house. He set seven of the wood pieces aside, covering the rest with a tarp in order to keep them dry through the winter. He scooped the wood he had set aside and carried it into the house. Three he put in the fire place and the rest he put in the wire basket meant for holding the wood for later. He started up the fire causing the house to quickly warm up.

She sat on a stool in the kitchen and heard the door shut. Soon she saw the living room light up in the corner of her eye. She jumped then walked into the room carrying a glass of tea in her hand. She watched and studied him for a moment and shook her head. "I might loose my house.. You would have known earlier. But you were gone.." she mumbled and looked down… "If i do, ill have no where to go..." she said and bit her tounge. Trying not to say anything else.

(missed you too. I was worried that something might have happened to you since i haven't seen you on.)
His head whipped in her direction in shock. "And why would you possibly lose the house? You've been here...what? forever?" His mind tried to grasp this sudden news. If she lost the house then what? He wondered if he would be able to whip something up for her to stay. He nodded inwardly to himself. If push came to shove, he would make sure she had a new place that was even better than this one. He continued to look at her, his whole body now facing her. His back to the fire. If she looked behind herself, she would see that his shadow looked more like a winged beast. Almost like a gargoyle or dragon.

(Honestly, not much has happened. My leg healed but now the theirs something wrong with my ankle. If theirs wasn't Anything wrong with my ankle, ix still be on crutches because my leg is so weak.)
She shook her head. " Its too much land for me to handle. I haven't paid the bills since you left.... I was so worried for you, I did not hardly do anything but try to figure out where your a** went." She growled. She shook her head and her skin turned pale. She looked down and bit her lip to try to keep her eyes from tearing up.

His eyes went wide in shock. "So is it like rent or are you just paying it all off. If you do that will you not have to worry about bills?" The weels in his head turned. He hope that her answer would be to the latter. |
