Aven rushed around the house frantically, half dressed. She was doing so many things at once, that she really didn't need to do. She was watching one of the maids finish off her blue dress, while her mother was following her around prattling on about so unrelevant topics. "Aven Dear, it is about high time you got married. Honestly." "Yes mother." she said through gritted teeth as she marched up the hallway trying to shake her mother off. She was wearing nothing but her petticoat, and her corset was undone. She went from room to room trying to remember where she has put the new silver hairpin her father had sent her. "Really dear, you're not getting any younger, no man will want to marry and old maid."Aven rolled her blue eyes and dug around in a drawer until she finally found what she had been looking for. She smiled when she pulled out the twin butterfly pins and examined them. They were simple, and adorned with small diamond that twinkeled when they caught the light. She brushed past her mother who was still trying to talk to her.

"Aven, would you listen to me for a second?"

"Really mother, no need to worry. I will marry when I'm good and ready." She said spinning around to face her mother which earned her a look. SHe quickly clamped her mouth shut, that was so out of character for her. She was Aven, the good child that didn't ob
ject. Her mother opened her mouth once more and spoke again; "Atleast try and be socialbly dear, I'm not telling you to be like your sister." Aven inwardly cringed at the thought of her sister. They could have been twins, if it wasnt for the fact that Callista looked ten times more glamorous than her, and that she was a shameless flirt. They had finally reached back to Aven's room. "I will try if it puts you at ease." Her mother smiled and patted her cheek fondly before allowing her daughter to go into her room.

Aven sighed as she closed the door behind her. She turned to the maid. "Jannie will you please lace me up?" She asked referring to the half done corset. Her maid smiled and nimbled did up the lace before helping to pull the blue dress over her head. It was simple compared to some of the other dresses that would be ther, nothing to eye catching. It was an azure blue that complemented her eyes and had a golden lace around the sleeves, neckline, bottom and the folds. She smiled happy with it, her smile growing larger when as she thought about the over the top ball gowns that would be there tonight. "Sit miss." Jannie had said motioning to the spot next to her on the ivory coloured chaise long. Aven nodded and sat down and allowed the woman to take her long wavy hair. "You know your mother cares for you, you worry just as much as that sister of yours." Aven smiled at that. "Iknow." She said. The two of them sat in mostly silence as the maid did her hair simply, not doing it in that ridiculous updos that were suddenly in style.

She had somehow managed to make a french y-braid into a chignon. And stuck the pins through the sides. Aven went to the mirror and smiled. "Thanks Jannie." She smiled at the woman giving her a big hug befor rushing outside and down the big staircase. She ran into one of the servants on the way down. "Misses, your friend is here. I showed her to the parlor." She smiled a thanks and turned and walked into the room. "Evening Dawn." She smiled, she knew it would only be her to visit, seeing as Aven really had no other friends. "Your dress looks lovely."

Aven smiled when the girl metnioned the horse, she knew how much the girl loved that horse. "This dress is pretty." she said looking over her friends dress. "Though, I guess looking at the other one wouldn't hurt." She said with a shrug. If it was and older dress, she was sure the other would poke fun at her if she had worn it recently. Honestly some of the girls there drove her mad.rnrn

"Aven Dear~" Came her mothers voice from upstairs.rnrn

Her faced blanched and she looked at Dawn. "Lets go to the stables." She said in a hurry already running out the doors.rnrn
