I walked with Aven to the carriage, finding it ironic that William would ask such a question. Seeing as Aven had found someone, she had called 'nice'. I smiled at William, seeing as Aven ignored him, and said, "I wouldn't say that we didn't find someone." I said, referring to Aven and Lancelot. Actually it was more of teasing Aven, seeing as she made no sign of liking him. I went into the carriage, and layed my head back. "Who knew these things could be so exhausting." I said as I closed my eyes.

((Thats what I was thinking ^^ Great minds think alike XD))rnrn A grin spread across Williams face and he peered inside the carriage at Miss Aven who burried her face in her hands to hide the creeping colour in her cheeks. He shook his head and closed the door after Dawn and stepping to the front. He flicked the reins and started off the horses.rnrn Aven looked over at Dawn and nodded. "I know." she said looking outside the window at the building as they rolled along. The spend most of the ride in silence, seeing as most of it Aven had tried keeping awake, but her head bobbed and she was awoken by every bump in the road. When they reached the house it was dark. "Gee Dawn, I can't let you do hom alone with Cotton tonight." She said as she stepped out of the cariage and looked around. She looked over at Will then back at Dawn. "Why don't you let William take you home and you can come for Cotton tomorrow, I can promise he'll be in good hands for the night."rnrn She really didn't want Dawn to go home alone, there were all sorts of strange people out at night, no matter what area. William had to admit he was in agreement, it would be no problem for him to take Dawn home and return the horse to her the nest day.rn

After noting that Aven was interested in sleeping the ride home, I chose to do the same thing. I was a pretty deep sleeper so the bumps didn't bother my sleeping at all. But, finally, the carriage idled, and I opened my eyes to see it was dark outside. Already? I had been planning on going home at a certain time so that I could ride alone with Cotton. Oh boy, I sure didn't want to have William take me home for various reasons that I couldn't name. "I don't know. That's a lot of riding for him, since you have to get Callista and Mrs. Hardwicke too."
[Ahh. Sorry. I didn't want her to just be like 'sureeee!' lolll. ]]

((Lol.))rnrn Aven smiled slightly. "I'm sure my sister can talk a man into giving them a ride if he's late." She grinned, which caused the man to grin too. "Have some faith, I'm a great driver, your house is on the way back anyways, I'll get you home and be back in no time."rnrn Aven looked up at Dawn pleasingly, she didn't want the girl to go home alone. And she wasn't exactly sure how her mother would react to having Dawn stay over, Aven had a feeling she was going to get a scolding tonight. "C'mon Dawn, please?"rnrn "Yeah, please?" William said mocking Aven's pleading tone.

"Alright. As long as you're sure it's okay."
I said, looking to William.

When Aven awoke in the morning she was delighted she didn't run into her mother. She had fallen asleep before her mother had come home, no doubt missing the lecture she was going to receive. She sat up in bed and rubbed at her blue eyes and yawned. There was a slight knock on the door. "Come in."rnrn In entered her mother beaming. "Oh lovely you're awake." Aven sucked in a breath as she was ready for her mother to yell at her, but instead she placed a New dress on her bed. It was a simple light blue dress that had a large neckline meaning it was to sit under the shoulders. Aven crawled out from the blankets to pay more attention to the pretty lace detailing she looked at her mother an eyebrow raised though the only smiled. She reached over and pinched her cheek. "You humored me by dancing with Mr. Ashford, I think you deserve this." And with that the woman left Aven dumbfounded. rnrnIt was probably around noon when Aven made her way downstairs. Her mother was sitting in the parlor doing some needle work. She smiled when she saw her daughter in the dress though she made a face when she looked at her hair. It wasn't messy, but she hadnt done it up, leaving it out in it's natural wavy state. Aven looked at her. "Is something wrong?" Her mother quickly shook her head, she couldn't say anything without giving away what she was planning. rnrn"Oh no Dear." She said quickly before mo too it to the piano. "Dearie why don't you play your mother a song huh?" she smiled and Aven complied and sat at the instrument, it was the one thing she didn't mind doing for her mother. When she played she was happy, and it seemed to make everyone else happy too because you could hear her playing even if you were outside the house. rnrn - - - - - - - - - rnrn William had gotten Dawn home in no time last night with no trouble. He even made it back in time to get the rest of the Hardwickes. He was no in the stable brushing her horse down. "Hey buddy." he said as he slowly slipped the bridle back into it's mouth. He smiled and patted it's side. "Good horse." He said. He began to lead the horse outside. He already had another horse ready and planned to ride it there then have Cotton follow, that way he'd have a way back. And he wanted to get back in time to see whatever Mrs. Hardwicke had up her sleeve. rnrn ((Sorry if it turns outweird. I'm on my iPod.))

I had been told after the dance that I was to visit the Hardwicke State with my mother that next afternoon. Though, inwardly I felt reluctant at walking up the porch stairs and knocking on their door gently, I kept my usual demeanor. “Lancelot, would it hurt to smile just a little bit?” I heard my mother say as she smoothed out the fabric on my arm gently with her hand. I kept my hands behind my back as I stood and waited for someone to answer the door. “I find juvenile hooting and unnecessary cheery attitudes to be infantile and maddening. I don’t find anything wrong with being more sober then others.” (At least one of the characters has to be snobby: D) I heard my mother scoff at my response, as if I wasn’t right. I chose not to respond, and she didn’t either. Until, finally, she added, “So what do you think of Miss Aven Hardwicke?” The tone in her voice said all I needed to know. So, to show that I had no interest in the woman who couldn’t meet my eyes, I said, “She seems shockingly indecent in behavior.” Again, I heard a scoff from my mother, before we remained silent.

“... To the garden, and get to know each other. You two will have something special, I promise…” Ugh. My mother was giving advice to my sister about Samuel in the other room as I knitted in the family room. Apparently, my sister had talked about me at dinner last night, the one I didn’t attend to since I was too tired from the ball; saying I was throwing myself at Samuel at the ball and I shouldn’t go to the next ball so that Samuel could focus on my sister. My father was furious, saying that I lost my chance marrying the man, declining his request more than once, and I had to give my sister a chance. I don’t think he realized how ridiculous he sounded. Especially, since I did nothing of the sort at the ball. I danced with many men, the proper thing to do at the ball, but I would never ‘throw myself’ at them and beg for their attention. Especially not Samuel; no matter how kind he may be. I found myself rolling my eyes at the things my mother said. “…Samuel doesn’t realize that Dawn is not good for him. Once he keeps you in his mind, he won’t think twice about your sister…” Funny, they don’t realize I’m in the other room. I rolled my eyes, feeling slightly disgusted at the situation I was in. And wishing I could get to Aven to tell someone about my predicament.
