As soon as the elk hit the ground, Sapphire stood up as if she were shocked by lightning. Her ears were straight up and alert. She crept backwards, searching the sky with her eyes.

Shadow let out a loud screech before alnding and keeping her talons lifted.

Sapphire looked around the forest where she was, and... Where Dark slept. She leaped into the air for a quick survey. Either that elk was a trap from the first humans she had seen in years, or someone was actually there.

But its not mine, I think thats from that one family in the caverns, visiting some relatives down in desert country, coming back tommorrow. They called the midwife to take care of the egg. You probably took the egg when she was sleeping."

Sapphire stood infront of the sleeping Dark, because the last thing she needed was for someone to die unaware of the threat. "A visitor." Anther hissed at Shadow, his feathers and fur standing on end. "Visitors aren't welcome here anymore."
