Damon looked at her for a long time, having an internal battle on whether or not he should tell her. Even though he only just met her, he really liked her. And telling her could scare her away from him forever. Not that that would stop him. "He killed me. Technically." |

"It all started because of a young Katerina Petrova." Damon's tongue rolled over the name with a perfect accent."Of course, then she was known as Katherine Pierce. She led me and my brother on, claiming to love both of us. She was a vampire." He chuckled humorlessly, his eyes glazed as he relived it. "She would come to me, and I was completely entraced by her. She was so beautiful... I should have known. Our father was a vampire hunter; but then again, so were all of the adults in the town. One night, she was discovered drinking from Stefan by my father. She, along with the rest of the vampires in town, were captured. Stefan, being the little valiant one, demanded that we save her. So, trying to be a good older brother while trying to hide the fact that I loved her, I obliged. We were both shot while trying to open the cart they held her in. And we both died with vampire blood in our system. But that's not how he killed me, no that wasn't it. If you die with vampire blood in your system, you have to drink from a human or you'll die permanently. And that's what I set out to do. I had no desire to become a 'monster'. But Stefan begged and he pleaded, eventually forcing me to drink from a human to save my life. It wasn't what I wanted. So I vowed to make his life hell for the rest of my existence, because he decided to make the choice that would make mine."

"But....Without Stefan you wouldn't be here," Calyx said finally. So...Damon was a vampire? She shook the awkwardness off. Her heart beat quickened a bit.

"But without Stefan, I'd still be alive." Damon retaliated. He heard her heartbeat quicken, and scolded himself mentally. He shouldn't have told her.
