A group of people quickly hustled into a huge, beautiful meadow. The group had been traveling for many days, searching for a place to live. They had finally moved to this area, thought to be uninhabited. The people would start building right away, they would make a brand new civilization here! They would need to start right away, and this meadow was perfect. First things first, the people must hunt. Half the men went off to go hunt, while half the women went to forage for nuts and berries and edible plants. The area was large and beautiful. There were trees of many kinds all around in a thick, beautiful forest. This huge meadow would be perfect for starting to build houses and buildings and the like. There was a large river near the meadow that was within walking distance, and it was slow and lazy and was even good for swimming because it wasn't dangerous. The calm river seperated a forest and the meadow from a plain. It was quite impressive. Almost unbelieveable, actually, that a river could split two different places with almost no things in common. he forest would be named Samuel Forest, because a man named Samuel Hall was the first to spot the forest. The meadow in the forest would be named Julienne Meadow because a young girl named Julienne - Jules for short - had found it. Julienne was only 14 and had been running after a dog that had strayed away chasing a rabbit. Jules had caught the dog, and had discovered the meadow, which the dog had run into. Some could argue that the dog was the one who had found it, so the full name was actually Julienne and Pogo Meadow. The dog's name was Pogo. He was Jules's cocker spaniel. The plains were named the Endless Plains, because they seemed to go on for miles and never end, but of course, there was always an end to everything. The villagers didn't cross the river yet, but there were some large boulders in the river that could easily be used as stepping stones. The river was called Boulder River because the stepping stones had been the first thing that was noticed in the big river. As the men were hunting, there were some other people hunting as well. Except they weren't part of the villagers. No, these were natives. Natives of a tribe not yet discovered that were named the Zestoke tribe. They were a fierce and powerful people, and they made sure that any invaders didn't survive. Neither knew of the other's existence because the Zestoke tribe lived on the Endless Plains. They visited the Samuel Forest often though, because they had built a camp there whenever they went to the forest to hunt. The Zestoke tribe hunted in the forest for deer as well as fishing in the river as well as prowling around for buffalo in the plains. They were lean and fit and always ready for battle, because the Elders of the tribe had decided that this place must remain a secret. They did not want any white villagers to take away their land like they did to the other natives! They wouldn't allow that to happen! Will the two groups meet in battle and destroy each other? Or will someone find love in the fiercest of battles...

[[Yeah, they are. Let's pass on the bios, unless you're willing on waiting an hour on me to make one xD I'm guess you would like me to play the boy in this?]] The bushes rustled around as humans stumbled about, looking for food. If Zeak didn't know better, he would have thought that a heard of elephants were in the forest. But Zeak didn't know what elephants were, so he immediately stepped forward to investigate. His brown skin with green paint splattered about made him almost look like at tree himself. His steps were as quiet as the wind rustling in the leaves above him. Zeak practically lived in this forest, he knew the name to every tree and always could tell where he was in the forest by just looking at his surroundings. He was a predator, almost like the jungle cats that stalked its pray for hours before moving in and catching it. The bushes shook wildly again, surprising Zeak into raising his spear. He could hear unfamiliar voices and words being mumbled. The leaves shook a final time before another human stepped out. Or, at least the boy thought it was human. The person was taller than him by about a foot. He had blonde hair like the honeysuckle flower that was abundant around these parts. He had blue eyes that glittered with surprise. His clothes were of a brown cloth that looked like something Zeak's tribe would trade heavily for, and over that was a sheet of silverish metal. What stood out the most to the tribe boy was the man's skin; it was... A sort of whitish color with a natural bronze hue.

Julienne sighed and gazed at her dog, Pogo. Pogo waggled his tail and barked happily. As usual, being only a 14 year old girl, she couldn't do anything except sit around, waiting for all the men to do the work. Snorting, she got to her feet, angry. Women could do anything that men could do! Usually even better, in fact. She gathered her platinum blonde hair into a ponytail and her dark, forest green eyes flashed with determination. She whistled softly to Pogo. He followed her willingly and eagerly, his tail still wagging. Jules quietly snuck away, making sure no one noticed. She was going to do something big! Something to prove that women could do whatever kind of crap men could do! She would not allow herself to be treated like some sort of dainty little fool that needed protecting. She would look out for herself. That was final. --- "Who are you?" Sam said, aggravated. His ice blue eyes were harsh and suspicious. "Tell me your name. I have never seen you before. I thought these parts were empty of other people." (Fail post for Samuel. xD)

Zeak blinked and took a step back. He didn't understand the man's words, but he could tell the anger in them. "I am Zeak of the Zestoke tribe." He told the man in his language. Zeak pointed to his throat for a second, then moved his finger to his ear. He dropped his hand and tilted his head and prayed to the gods that the man would understand that he couldn't speak their tongue. Zeak pointed at his chest. "Zeak." He said his name before pointing to the man's chest in a questioning manner. Zeak realized that he still had his spear raised, so he lowered it so then the tip was pointed to the ground. He would've layed it on the ground, but he didn't trust the strange man and he wasn't going to risk his life to show some type of diplomacy.

Sam tilted his head. He saw the boy make signals, but he didn't understand. Suddenly, it hit him. The young boy didn't speak English! Laughing a little, Samuel pointed to himself and said very clearly, "Samuel," He had calmed down a little now, but he was still a little suspicious of the spear. He dipped his head in acknowledgement, and pointed to the spear. He motioned with his hand to put the spear down. Then he yelled out a few names. Two more men came. One had brown hair and amber eyes, the other had black hair and blue eyes. Sam explained to the two men that this was a stranger that had appeared out of nowhere and he told the men to introduce themselves. "Kevin," said the brown haired one, pointing to his chest. "Wilson," said the black haired one, pointing to himself. "That's Zeak," Samuel said, glancing at the boy. There was paint over him, and he didn't know why. It was going to be hard, talking, when they didn't even speak the same language!

Zeak dipped to carefully lay his spear onto the ground. He still didn't trust them, especially since there were two more now. The new men could easily overpower him either way, so it really didn't matter. He watched as they spoke in there strange language. He wanted to know what they were saying. He wanted to be able to speak their language. Zeak suddenly had an idea. He could make up a game like the ones he played with his younger sister when she was learning how to speak. The boy walked over to a large tree a few feet away. He put his hand on it and said "árbol". He looked to see if the men were watching and listening. "árbol" He repeated again. ((I can't speak Spanish for my life. xD Uh, how modern do you think the villagers should be? Like, Mayflower and the pilgrims modern, or today modern?)) ((Fail post! I have writer's block. :3)) "Tree?" Sam asked, pointing to the tree. "Tree, arbol?" He pointed at the tree, more insistently this time, and said, "Arbol is tree?" --- Jules crouched, glancing around. She had brought a shotgun, and she planned to go hunting. There was one small problem. She had never hunted before! She didn't know how to shoot a gun! But she had to try. She had overheard that the kickback was extremely rough, but she didn't care. Anything to prove herself. Anything.

[[Lol, they only teach Spanish, German, and French at our school. I want to learn a Nordic language, but I'm stuck with Spanish. I don't care how modern it is. It could be in the future and on another planet if you want!]] Zeak nodded happily. "Arbol! Arbol! Trr... Trrree!" He rolled his tongue over the 'r' the first time, but quickly corrected himself. This game was fun! He stood on his tiptoes and snatched down a branch, making sure that it bent and didn't snap. "Hoja" He said, pointing at one of the green leaves. The leaves on the tree were large, easily bigger than Zeak's hand. [[I'ma listening to the Swedish version of 'Colors of the Wind'~ ]]

"Hoja...?" Kevin said a little confusedly. "Uh, is that a leaf?" "I'm pretty sure that's a leaf," Wilson said. "Ummm... Leaf! Leaf! Leaf! Hoja!" "Hoo.... ja..." Samuel said slowly. "Hoja." --- Jules overheard three men conversing with another man, a stranger. She paused, considering whether or not to go in. She recognized Samuel, Wilson, and Kevin. But the last voice, saying a word in a language she didn't know, was a stranger. Gritting her teeth, she hid behind a few bushed behind the three villagers, trying to stay out of sight, hoping that the stranger didn't see her. She wasn't eavesdropping! She was investigating. Yeah, that's right! Investigating! "Aruuf!" Pogo barked quietly, staring at the stranger. "Shhh!" Julienne hissed. She clamped a gentle, but firm, hand on Pogo's short muzzle and felt relief when the villagers didn't hear it. She hoped that the stranger didn't hear it either.

[[And my dad keeps giving weird looks because I'm singing to it c: ]] [[Noo, It's a bug!]] "Leaf! Hoja!" He could hear a noise to his side and he turned around and saw a girl and dog. His ears were trained to hear the slightest noise that didn't fit to the sound of the trees. He lost all interest of the men and started walking forward towards the girl. She was pretty, though Zeak couldn't tell if he thought that way just because she was different from the woman in his village, or if he really saw her as beautiful. He could hear the men behind him trying to follow him in the thick underbrush, but he really didn't care. Zeak was about five feet from the girl now. He tilted his head, looking at her in wonder. Now he really wished he could communicate to the new people, she was obviously not one of his villagers. Zeak pointed to himself. "Zeak." He stuttered out shyly.

((xD lol)) Jules tugged her ponytail out, blinking. Crossing her arms, her straight, blonde hair fell around her shoulders, framing her heart shaped face. Jules glanced at the stuttering boy. Suspicion filled her, and she could tell he wasn't a villager. He also didn't seem to speak the same language as her. "So, you don't speak English? Of course you don't. I'm Julienne, but my friends call me Jules. This is Pogo, my cocker spaniel. I'm trying to prove to the men that women, even a teen 14 years old, can do whatever guys can do." Sighing, Jules tugged her hair back up in a ponytail, tighter, and her green eyes grew softer. The boy was kind of handsome for a stranger native dude who didn't even speak English. "Julienne," She said confidently, pointing to herself. "Pogo," She said, glancing at Pogo. Pogo barked a confirmation.

"Julienne?" He murmured. He avoided her eyes and leaned down to pet Pogo. "Hola, perro..." He quickly stood up and spun around when he heard something behind him. It was just a magpie, and Zeak quickly relaxed. The boy suddenly remembered that he still had a job to do. His tribe was counting on him to bring home meat, and it was noon and he still had yet to find anything. "I have to go, goodbye." He murmured to the girl, even though he realized she had no idea what he was saying. He walked past the men and mumbled a quick 'goodbye' to them. He didn't pause to grab his spear, instead snatching it up while he was still walking. He glanced back at the strange people before taking off into the dense undergrowth.

Julienne smirked slightly. Sighing, she whistled and Pogo waddled over to her. The chubby puppy barked and Jules picked him up. The three men were looking a little confused, and they all reported back to the villagers that were waiting. After reporting back to the villagers, there was a huge commotion where some people accused the strange boy of being an invader and that they should find more about his suspicious behavior. Why didn't he speka their language? Why was his skin so different? Why was his appearance so different? Samuel had to try and calm everyone down with the help of Kevin and Wilson. After the commotion had died down a little, they went back out to go hunting again. Jules recieved quite a bit of scolding for sneaking out, and she promised to never do it again. The thing was, her fingers were crossed. So, during the commotion, she snuck out again with Pogo. She went to the river and sat down, glancing at her reflection briefly. She saw Pogo's shadow, and it resembled a small bear cub. Laughing, she picked up Pogo and left the river, wishing she had a spear or something of the sort to fish in the river. She had left the shotgun somewhere in the forest. She supposed she had to get it back. Gritting her teeth, she trudged into the undergrowth, watching out for snakes and the like.

Zeak, unlike the new people, hadn't gone straight to his village. He, in fact, had no interest of tell everyone else. This was like his new secret, so why would he ever tell someone else. Less than thirty minutes of meeting Samuel, Zeak had caught a young deer. The deer was small, coming up just past his stomach, and the teen guessed that it was only a year or so old. His spear had caught it's stomach, wounding it enough that it couldn't escape. When the young deer dropped to the ground, Zeak sat beside it and removed the spear. He whispered to it in his language until the deer passed away. The boy made a few signs with his hands before heaving the deer onto his back and carrying it back to his village. [[/fail, sorry]]

((xD I have less and less inspiration for some odd reason. I have had writer's block for the past week. I wish it would go away! D8)) Jules was trotting through the undergrowth when there was a vicious snarl. A huge mountain lion was prowling around on a huge cliff. There were a few rocky mountains that were kind of small and seemed to be good hiking trails, but Julienne hadn't gone there yet. She had been closer to it than ever searching for the gun, and a mountain lion was now glaring down at her, its fangs bared. It looked hungry, and its ribs were showing. Its starved eyes were nightmarish and terrifying, and Jules let out a wordless cry, her lips parted silently. Stumbling back, she screamed for real this time. Screaming for help. The mountain lion leapt down from the cliff and landed on all four paws neatly. It stalked toward her, and Jules began to run, feeling terror coursing through her body. Pogo let out a whine and stood his ground. The mountain lion hefted a huge paw and sent the little dog bowling. Yelling and shouting, Jules ran over to Pogo and picked up the injured and bleeding dog. Crashing through the undergrowth, she didn't make it very far until the mountain lion caught up and sliced a huge gash in her shoulder. Falling, Julienne instinctlively held up arms to block her face and released Pogo, yelling for him to go back to the villagers. Pogo limped away, whining, a large but shallow scratch on his flank. Panting, he hobbled away, pain in his every step. The mountain lion paid no attention to Pogo. It was looking for bigger prey. And that prey was Jules. Jules closed her eyes and prayed for the end to be fast and painless. She also prayed for help.

Zeak had jumped when he heard the scream. On instinct, he dropped the carcass of the deer and prepared his spear for fighting. He paused and looked around for where the noise had come from. He couldn't see anyone around him, but he could hear some human-made sound coming from not too far off. It was coming from the few rocks that jut out of the ground in the forest. Zeak's mind flashed the dead mountain cat he had seen in the tribe one day, and of the warning his father had given him. 'The mountain cats only will attack a human in dire need they won't go out of the way like their forest cousins or the tree snakes. They will also not give up their pray easily.' The boy had never seen an alive mountain cat up close, he usually avoided the rocky areas. Zeak heard more shouting and started running. Whoever was unlucky enough to find a cat was obviously unprepared. It was easy for him to suddenly jump over a fallen log or dip under a branch without faltering his run, so he found Julienne quite quickly. When he saw the mountain cat, it reminded him of all of the nightmarish creatures that inhabited the Other World. No food was ever passed over into the Other, so all of the monsters there look half-dead and thin. They were dark and shadows, and when you looked into their eyes, you could see all of the souls they have devoured screaming for help. The mountain cat, though, was very real, and it was about to kill the young girl under it. Zeak yanked back his spear before throwing it at the cat. He missed his original target, which was the neck, but it slid in under the spinal cord behind the cat's shoulder blades. The cat snapped it's attention from it's pray to Zeak before stalking forward towards the boy, who was slowly pulling the steel out of his belt. The sword was short, one of the sides was dull and meant for blunt hitting, the other sharp as a snake's fang. It was thin as well, agility was the best use for it. In Zeak's hand, it was shaking. The boy had almost no practice with steel because it was awkward for him, it was a danger to the forest, and he was already a natural at using a spear. But his spear was already lodged in his target, and it was doubted that he would be able to retrieve it while the cat was still moving. The mountain cat made a lunge at him, and Zeak dived to the side. It's paw almost caught his foot, but thank the Gods it didn't. The boy spun around to meet the cat again. [[Other World, as in a place from his religion where evil spirets go, it's their version of an underworld of sorts, where there are a bunch of monstrous souls who'll eat, attack, or torcher anyone who is sent there. ((Whaaat?! Neverrrr... That would be meaaan. :3 Okay, maybe. Let me have a go. :D I suck at fight scenes too. So I'm not very literate right now.)) The mountain lion hissed and lunged at Zeak, pain lancing through it. A huge paw came flying at Zeak and bowled him over. The mountain lion was angry, even though it was wounded. It would take a little more to kill it. Julienne, meanwhile, held her shoulder and got up. Pogo was hidden in a pile of leaves behind a bush, and he didn't seem to be able to go any farther than that with his wounds. Blinking, Jules quietly snuck away, deciding that if she found the shotgun and used it, it would be much more useful than throwing rocks at it. She remembered where the shotgun was and quickly foraged for it, searching desperately. The mountain cat was now extremely angry because Jules ran away. It roared in defiance and barreled into Zeak furiously, its eyes hungry. But its wound stung with a pain it had never experience before, and the mountain cat bared its teeth, weakening from blood loss. Still, it found the strength to bite down on Zeak's leg, quickly withdrawing when the pain kept stinging. Snarling, the mountain cat realized it could not fight the pain, and was about to kill Zeak and eat him when Jules appeared again, this time with the shotgun. However, Jules had never operated a shotgun before, and her shoulder was messed up. Oh well. She'd just have to deal with it. A guy was dying, so you know... Just as she held it up confusedly, not even knowing what to do with it, a body pushed her out of the way and grabbed the shotgun. A shot rang out, missing the mountain cat. It hissed, swiping a hefty paw at the new attacker. Then another shot rang out, and it hit the mountain cat in the leg. One last shot whizzing by the mountain cat's ear made it go away, spitting with anger. "Uh, thanks?" Julienne said, still really confused. It was Sam, and there was anger in his eyes. Almost as much anger as the mountain cat had. "What were you thinking?" Sam spat. "Were you trying to get yourself killed?" Shaking his head, he muttered something under his breath about women. "Hey!" Jules muttered angrily. Even though she was grateful that he saved her life, she wasn't useless like the men treated women. "Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't do the stuff that men do! At least I tried. I was willing to die just so that women would at least be treated with respect. That's how bad it is!" She crawled over to Pogo, whom she lifted out, and she rolled her eyes at Samuel. She went over to Zeak, her shoulder still bleeding. Sam muttered something about ungrateful women and glanced at Zeak. Pausing, he left, going back to the villagers for help. A few minutes later, he arrived with some women who were the healers of the villagers. The villagers took the mauled boy back to their camp. Sam and Jules were at the back of the group - Jules was holding Pogo - and Samuel was scolding her roughly for running away and almost getting killed. He was still ranting about it when they got to camp, at which point Julienne left, muttering "Thanks for saving my life and complaining about it." She followed the women to a tent where Zeak was, but was quickly dismissed because the healers had to take care of Zeak quickly, and they didn't want any distractions. She gave Pogo to a healer who said that they would manage to fix up the dog, but Pogo would have a scar forever.
