"You were supposed to be in the assembly room for the orienation." the teacher said stifly, handing Avalia a detention and motioning for Mukura to come after waving away Avalia. Avalia stiffened and crumpled up the detention, shoving it in her pocket with a look of disgust. She never served detention, she just didn't. Plus, how was she to know that she was supposed to be in orientation, nobody ever told her things. She was a nobody...

Mukura rolled his eyes, and stood up, walking casually to the head of class. He'd probably get a detention. Then again, what difference did it make? He had no plans of showing up. In fact, he was surprised he'd even shown up for his first day of school. That was highly unlike him. He stopped in front of the teacher, his eyes slightly below level with the mans. He stared him down wordlessly, unblinking, his face vacant of any ex
pression, save a slight sneer in disgust.

"Take it and go." She snarled, shoving a detention into his face.

As Avalia walked away, she thought of how much that teacher seemed like a demon. She bet other people saw her differently, but to her, the teacher had red eyes and curled rams' horns on her head. She was fat and had no hair. Her clothes were non-existent and she had a demon's tail. Avalia shivered at the thought of what the teacher's true form looked like and she suddenly wondered, as she walked into Choir, whether or not she knew she could see the true form...

((Maybe, like in mine, they can see the true forms of demons.))

[[Hmnmnmnmn... ok. Sounds good to me. 83]]

Mukura glared at the demon. Man, she sure was ugly. Short, fat, rams horns, red eyes that glow with a fire like no other... yup, pretty damn ugly. ''Well?'' He asked, arms crossed. He had no intention of running around like some teachers pet for a demon. Hell, no intention of running around like a good boy for any of the teachers, be they human, demon, or even angel. That... was never going to happen.

"Your going to be in detention with Avalia after school in this room. We're going to be practicing music and if you're not here, your life will be miserable." She flicked her tongue out and licked the side of his face with it, leafing long red scratches.

"Avec le Jour..." Avalia muttered to herself as she was handed the pece that they would be singing. She stared at the choir teacher in her long white dress and angelic wings and sighed. This class, she could already tell, was going to be easier than band. Her mind wandered back to the boy and band and wondered how he had gotten so good at piano. He mind furthered its' wandering by going back to the person she had gone past on the road and realized that the two people were actually the same. She shook her head to get out of the daydream because she realized the rest of the choir was singing. She joined in, her high soprano voice drifting over the voices and then blending to make a nice chord with everybody.

Mukura glared at the teacher. ''So. Teacher is threatening a child. That'll go down well with the principal, huh?'' Mukura said, glaring at her before rolling his eyes and, once again, heading back to his seat and sitting down. He had absoloutely no intention of leaving this room. The demon wanted to play hardball? Well, so could he. He wouldn't leave this classroom until music class was over, and he sure as hell wouldn't turn up to detention. Why should he? He had done nothing wrong, and so refused to serve the detention. Plus, he would get rid of that demon. Implicating adults, demon or human, into both things they had and hadn't done, was easy for him. He had had enough practice at it over the years.

Pretty soon the day was over and, laden with homework, she wandered back to the band room to get her instrument, tripping over the boy she had played with in the early wmorning. "Oof." she said, the breath getting knocked out of her. She shook her head and picked up her instrument, turning to leave. The instrument was pushed from her grasp and she was shoved violently into her chair. "You can both see me." she muttered angrily, her forked tongue slithering out of her mouth...

Mukura had been bent down, trying to get a pencil he dropped, when he was tripped up over, getting kickedin the head at the same time. ''Ow...'' He muttered, standing up and rubbing his head. Before he knew what to say to the girl with the french horn, he was shoved into a chair, as was the girl next to him. ''Umm... what? I should imagine I can see you. You're not invisible, are you?'' He asked, his eyebrows arched slightly in mock amusement. His voice was placid and clear, although he was both worried and excited, all at the same time. She had said they both could see her. Firstly, how did she know they could see her? And most importantly, could that other girl actually see the same things he could?

"I don't know what your talking about Ma'am. To me, you look like an ordinary school teacher." She could've slapped herself as she slipped up. She never should of said anything after the first sentence. The teacher's eyes widened as she tripped up and then narrowed again. She folded her demon arms and glanced at the other boy.

"What do you see me as?" If you were like Avalia and Mukura, you could only see their true forms, their illusion was hidden from you. So unless he was a really good guesser, they would be found out...

''I see you as a middle-aged, over-appreciated, under-worked school teacher.'' Was Mukuras cocky reply. He had a slightly amused ex
pression on his face still, and his mouth was slightly turned up at the corners. Ticking teachers off could be fun. And his hunch had been right. Judging by the girls choice of words, she was definitely able to see this teacher like he could. She sure wasn't nearly as skillful and smooth with words as she should be by now, though. I mean, hiding your Sight for all those years should've given her plenty of practice, but no, she has to slip up with her first couple of sentences. Perfect. Just perfect.

"Asses." She snarled, shooing them away. Avalia glared back at the smart-alec boy and raced out of the classroom, her french horn back in her hands. She ran through the forest, greeting the old ghost of the indian man as she went. She put down her horn and her backpack and changed back into her wet suit to go swimming again. After a day like that, it was good to just let go and swim...

Mukura wandered out of the room casually and down to the forest. He saw an old indian man, and did a sign of greeting to him, a strange symbol with ihs hands. He got there just as that girl was in her wetsuit and heading to te water. Hopping up onto a thick branch of a nearby tree, he ran lightly along it with ease, all the way out to the end, where it hung over the water. ''So, you're not very good at lying, are you?'' He asked, hooking his legs over the branch and hanging upside down like a bat. His shirt was slightly folded down, though not by much, since it was pretty stiff.

"I am better when there's not an ass in the back of the class." She snarled, fleeing back under the water. An ass who is exceptional at piano. She thought to herself with a bit of a grimace. Her head popped up above water, straight through the moaning figure of a young girl. She glared at the girl and she floated away, sitll letting out moans...

''Hey. If you're just going to insult me, I may as well leave.'' Mukura replied. He wasn't one to just sit there and take crap from someone who was just ticked that they hadn't been better at lying. Lifting himself back up, his hair was damp at the ends. It had been trailing in the water as he had been sat there. He stood up on the branch, and did a light jump to the other bank, landing lightly on his feet, making barely a sound. What right did she have to call him an ass? She was the one who had nearly got them both killed with a demon. If you're gonna lie to a demon, at least lie with style and class.

"Fine leave, I didn't ask for you to come anyway. You think I'm happy to actually see these things, to see him and her." He pointed at the indian and the suicidle girl. She folded her arms and sent an apologetic glance at the indian who dipped his ghostly hat in an uncaring way. "If you hadn't stayed in that classroom all day. If you hadn't made her angrier than she already was, we wouldn't have been in that situation. You've been here longer than me, why didn't you say something about orientation." She growled, almost feral, like a cat...

''Hey listen, you stupid, idiotic girl. Today was my first day of school. Call that longer than you? Ah-huh. And you think I'm happy seeing these damned things either? Contrary to your beliefs, you are not the most important thing on this earth, the one who has it worse than everyone else. Lots of people have it worse than you. Believe me.'' Mukura shook his head in disgust. Did she really think he enjoyed seeing these things either? Being hounded by someone who's lost their lover, simply because he could see them? Yeah right. He picked up his bag he'd dumped on the bank when he went this way, and walked back into the forest. He wasn't going home. He hated his so-called 'home'. He was going to cool off, maybe climb a couple of trees. He ran up an old oak, and proceeded to run along the branches of the treetops for a while.

"I missed regisration, that makes you having been there longer." she muttered, diving back under the water. Great, shehad finally met someone like her and they now hated eachother. Stupid big mouth. She wished she hadn't even opened it. She wished her dad hadn't moved to this stupid town. She was ready and willing to just go to him and tell him she was leaving and never coming back, let him deal with his stupid writing. She sighed and realized she couldn't do that, she wasn't the center of the world, but she hated moving all the time. Clambering out of the water, she settled back into her normal clothes and took out her french horn. She sat down on a logand warmed up with a few notes. Then she played the sad song from Mulan, her music drifting over the treetops...

Mukura ignored the sound of her playing, the sharp, sweet notes doing nothing more than aggravate him. Why was she such an awkward drama queen? Running back along the treetops, he considered heading home. When he got within earshot of his house, though, he gave that idea up. Robert and Moll, his new 'parents', were arguing again. Just great. Grumbling away to himself, he headed further up the river, to where the water and currents were turbulent, choppy at best. He sat on a rock and let his feet dangle into the water, wondering what exactly he'd done wrong to deserve the 'gift' of the Sight.

When she was done practicing, she placed her french horn carefully back in its case and wandered back home, letting the wind push her hair around her face. "Hey dad, I'm home." She shouted, but there was no answer. Figures... she thoguht to herself, sitting down at her desk to draw. She hated her life and wondered exactly what she had done wrong to be born seeing dead babies. And her father wondered why she was a troubled child and cried so much as a little child. Avalia, calm down my sweet. Don't be mad at the boy, he's just like you. A vocie said from behind her. She was about to get mad, but saw that it was her dead mother. Her face softened and she sighed. "Mom.... He's nothing like me..." She said. You are the elder, you must stop being such a child. The ghost chided her and then dissapeared leaving her daughter in lonliness...

Mukura leaned over the water, thinking he saw something in there. No, it must've been a fish or something. But he culd've sworn he saw something... There it was again. Definitely something in there. He reached his hand down and held onto another rock, leaning dangerously close to the water. Something was in there. Was it another ghost? He couldn't be sure, but he was curious.  Just as he reached his other hand out over the water, about to stick it in to the icy depths, something leaped out of it, making him lose his balance. He fell into the churning, deep water, and started gulping in water. He had never been the strongest of swimmers, and he had his heavy bag on his back now. He barely made it to shore, and sat on the bank, coughing up a little water. He was shivering. It was freezing out here now. A chill evening breeze had set in, and from what he could see, a storm was coming. ''Great...'' he muttered, ''Just great...''
