My shoulders were slumped as I gazed out into the room to where Eddie was. It wasn't his fault, not really... But, for the first time in a long time, I actually worried whether or not Eddie would do anything to hurt me.

Sighing, I twisted my arm around and held it under the tap, watching as the crimson liquid mingled with the water and swirled down the drain. There were still a few small, broken chips of glass in the cut, so I pried them out carefully with my fingers and dropped them on the side of the sink with a soft clatter, my jaw clenched.

Once I was satisfied I had done all I could to 'clean it up', I turned off the tap and stood in the doorway for a moment, watching Eddie. I hesitated for a moment, but shook any worries I might have had aside and walked into the room, flopping down next to Eddie and leaning forward to look up at him.

''All clean.'' I said, smiling.

''Don't worry about it,'' I replied, wrapping my arm around his shoulder and smiling still. ''Just next time, I'm driving.'' I laughed, leaning my head against his shoulder as well.

I closed my eyes and tried to listen to his heart beat, wondering if he had one or not. I couldn't hear one, but I still wasn't certain. ''Eddie...'' I said, wondering how he'd respond if I asked him. I thought better of it and changed my question.

''Will you tell me more about other kinds of people that most people don't exist? Like werewolves and wizards and stuff?''

I felt myself go cold as Eddie said he didn't think he'd survive against a werewolf. He'd said that before, of course, once when we were at my house. It just scared me, anytime I heard him say it. That there could be a creature on the earth at all that could hurt my Eddie seemed a ridiculous notion in my mind, and I brushed that thought aside.

''Wh-why? Aren't vampires stronger than werewolves?'' I swallowed, gripping Eddie's shoulder tighter as I raised my head slightly to look up at him. I quickly looked down again, not wanting him to see the ex
pression in my eyes.

I sighed as Eddie removed my arms from around his shoulders and stood up, asking if I was tired. That was normally his cue to leave and go off doing... whatever it was that Eddie did when he wasn't busy saving air-headed girls from other vampires. I smiled at the thought, standing up too.

''Not really.'' I replied, hoping that would make him stay. ''Why, are you?'' I wasn't sure if Eddie needed sleep at all, so it would be interesting to find out.

Although, something made me doubt that a vampire who was always wide awake any time I saw him could possibly be tired, or even have any need for physical sleep at all. Maybe he meditated instead or something.

I glared at him as he started smirking. It wasn't my fault I wasn't as well-versed in the ways of vampires as he was. It wasn't like I could be expected to be, now was it?

''Yeah, well... I'm not tired.'' I replied, but I couldn't keep myself glaring at him any more and ended up smiling up at him.

''Now you know I'm not tired, will you sit back down?''

[[D'aww. -snugs-]]

I wrapped my arms around Eddie's shoulders as he sat down, as if to make sure he couldn't get away. ''Yeah, well... Shuddup.'' I replied, not bothering to argue back. Instead, I rested my head against his shoulder and smiled, once again trying to listen to his heart-beat from where I was positioned.

''Haha, very funny.'' I replied, not very much humour in my voice. I closed my eyes, thinking, but couldn't think of anywhere to go. Funny. I guess it didn't matter anymore, so long as Eddie was with me.

''Not really...'' I mumbled. ''Might work better if you'd let me do the driving...''

I yawned, chuckling. ''That's a good point, actually... Next time, you can run out in front of me on the road and I'll drive... Great exercise for you, and a great anger management thing for me...'' I trailed off, my eyes still closed.

I was sound asleep by the time Eddie was smirking away like a big gloating goat, but stirred slightly in my sleep as he placed the covers over me and sat down on the edge of the bed.

I mumbled something utterly incoherent, something along the lines of ''Shuddupkitty...''

Yeah... I really must have been more tired than I had first thought.
