[[Hahahaha <3333333
Sorry for the fail. I can't even remember what weather it is so I'm going to pretend it's uber freezing so Ed can be cute.  <33333333333333 ]]

I squeezed her hand a couple times as we walked in silence, knowing there wasn't much to say. She was probably exhausted. If not that, then freezing. The idea made me realize that I could be making it worse, just by holding her hand.
With a frown, I slipped my hand out of hers. Missing the warmth of her touch.
"Gosh, where have my manners gone. Are you cold?"
I asked, though not waiting for her answer. Mostly because I knew she was half the reason for me losing all of my old fashioned manners. I took my jacket off and set it on her shoulders. Then walked a few feet away so that I wouldn't make her more cold.
"You let me know when you're tired."
I mumbled with a crooked smile her way before walking again.

[[D'awww, Eddie be such a cyootie vampy~]]

I smiled at Eddie as he slipped his hand out of mine, before draping his jacket over my shoulders. After that, he started walking again, a few feet away from me, and I couldn't help but wonder if it was because he was upset with me.
Even as I thought this, though, something strange happened. A glowing red mist seemed to be forming upon the ground near Eddie's feet as he walked, and I looked on with morbid fascination for a moment before speaking.
''Eddie...?'' I whispered, unsure of what the mist was. For some reason, something seemed... something seemed terribly wrong about it.

~~~
Baba Yaga began muttering silently under her breath, pleased with the way the quick-mist was working. With a flourish of her wrist in an upward movement, the mist that had previously been flowing smoothly over the vampire's feet solidified, creating a glass-like substance that trapped the man's feet in place up to about his knees.
He could do what he liked now, as far as the witch was concerned. There was no way any vampire, no matter how strong, could break the quick-mist. With that thought in mind, she draped a cloak of shadows over her shoulders, walking out onto the dark road without so much as a whisper of noise.
Beneath her cloak, she was invisible to the world; perhaps only a faint shimmering in the shadows could be seen, at the very most.
[[Sorry, bahaha. I'm a bit slow today... D: ]]
I turned toward Song, about to smile at her but her tone didn't portray any happiness in it.
"Ye-"
Before I knew it, something wrapped around my lower legs. Keeping me from moving.
"Song..."
I whispered, confused and, honestly, a bit scared. I tried using my strength to overpower the glass-like wrapping around my legs but it wouldn't budge.
"What the..."
And, as I turned my waist to look around, I tried to keep  my mind off of what I thought was happening. When Song had asked what else was out there - other then Werewolves, Vampires, ETC... - something came to mind. I didn't want to worry her, or make her think I was crazy for believing in such things, so I chose to not say it. But, now, standing here with my legs frozen to the ground, maybe I should tell her what else was out there...
"Run, Song."
I said in a hurried tone, as I kept trying to look for what I guessed did this to my legs. The last thing I needed was Song in the midst of the calamity coming ahead, if I was right.
"Now."
[[Lawls, 'tis fine. xD]]
''Huh? Eddie, what's- what's going on?'' I heard my voice break halfway through my sentence, but ignored that and ran over to him, holding onto his arm. There was some kind of red glass, or something, surrounding Eddie's feet, and I didn't want to think about what it was.
Or, more importantly, why Eddie hadn't broken out of it already.
He seemed to be looking for something, his eyes trained on the shadows, and I turned around to see if I could see anything. I was about to give up, when I saw something... move. Shaking my head, I decided it was just my imagination, and turned back to Eddie.
''Eddie? Are you okay?'' I didn't get the chance to hear his reply, though, because a harsh voice called out from seemingly no where.
~~~~

Baba Yaga, sure now that the vampire couldn't break free and that the girl would be no threat, removed the silence spell, but kept the shadow cloak over herself. Stepping right up to the strange couple, so she was mere feet away from them, she grinned a crooked, cruel smirk before clearing her throat and speaking.
''Oh, he's fine for now. Not that he will be for long...'' Her voice was ancient and hoarse, like the sound of leaves being crushed underfoot. Happy that she would have instilled enough panic into the pair to make things easy, she muttered another spell under her breath and laughed as the girl fell to the floor, unconcious.
If things went well, the vampire- who appeared to care for the human, for whatever reasons- would be so panicked and disorientated about her currently unconcious state, that he wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight.

Things had never gone wrong before, and Baba Yaga did not think they would now.

Just hearing Song's panicking voice worried me even more.
"Shhh, Song. Whoever it is can hear-"
Before I knew it, I heard the persons voice.
The person I was praying wouldn't be the one I thought was here. Doing this.
"This can't be happening..."
I muttered, covering my face with one hand while feeling the touch of Song on my other arm.
Without being able to respond, Song was on the ground.
"Song!"
My voice roared and echoed as she fell to the ground. Now I had two options. Let this be the end, let both of us die together...
Or fight.
I tried again to get out of the red glass covering around my legs while trying to find the source of the voice.
"Whoever you are... You won't win."

Baba Yaga's laughter echoed along the road. ''Really? Well, I never lose.'' She said, chuckling still. With a whisper under her breath that would send shivers down your spine, she cast a spell that formed a thousand tiny blades of ice, each about as long and wide as her bony finger.
Minute, but when they all drive through someone's skin at once, the pain would be enough to cause any human to pass out.
With that thought in mind, Baba Yaga sent each and every blade straight at the vampire, laughing with glee as they ripped through clothing and pierced skin. Oh, this would be fun!

[[<3 ]]

I watched the women with a look of distaste and anger. All I could think about was Song though my eyes stayed carefully one the bony women. Just as I was about to respond to her being 'sure she never loses', when sharp, serrated - like blades came at me. I could hear them rip through my clothing and bite at my icy skin as the woman's ominous, sinister laugh rang in my ears.
I could feel as the jagged blades gnaw at my body. One went straight through my shoulder, and came out the other side. My bellowing roar echoed as I tried blocking more from cutting right through my skin. Another came at my sides from all angles. Tears threaten to befall but I refused to appease the women at fault before me.
"This isn't over."
I mumbled, pulling out three blades that were in my arm as I hissed in pain. They dropped to the ground and shattered as I threw them. Ironically, all I could think of was, if this women killed me, Song was left all by herself.
"It isn't until I win."

''Oh, really? I'm afraid that day shall never come.'' Baba Yaga replied, her lips curled up in a horrific grin that revealed yellow, jagged teeth. She was quite confident, mostly because she believed her weakness to be one none knew and that none would guess.
She did, however, have to be exceptionally careful because of this 'weakness' of her's. It was perhaps because so many things these days are made out of a substance that she hoped would be replaced, but sadly it was not. You see, Baba Yaga's only problem in life was that she was allergic to iron. No, she did not 'break out in hives' if she touched it. In fact, if it touched her skin, it did nearly nothing.
If iron happened to reach her bloodstream, howeer, be it from a knife or injected directly in, Baba Yaga's pale skin would become grey, her pupils would cloud over until they became snow white, and perhaps the most gruesome effect of all would be that, when the iron reached her heart, it would quite literally tear it in two within her chest.
Yes, iron could be a deadly substance to her, if anyone were even able to get close enough to use it, or if anyone even knew about this disadvantage of her's.
''You see, I've been rather hungry as of late, and we all know vampire flesh is particularly nourishing. Must be all that human blood you consume.'' With that, the ancient crone muttured under her breath again, and cast a spell that would have rather intrigueing effects.
She grinned as hundreds of spheres of blue flames, each about the size of her fist, sprung out of thin air all around her, and closed her eyes for the briefest of moments before sending the balls of fire in the direction of the vampire.

I was still taking out the blades from my sides, hissing quietly at the pain, and keeping my eyes on her. Watching her every move - so she wouldn't get close to Song.
But, as I listened to her words, I realized Song wasn't what she wanted.
It was me.
I kept trying to tell myself that this wasn't over, but the second I saw the fire coming towards me, I couldn't help but feel defeated.
"I'm sorry, Song."
I muttered. Though I was giving up, I couldn't help my instincts to kick in as my arm went up to try pushing away the first blue flame. It sizzled my arm and a wrenching cry escaped my lips from the pain. And the cry turned into another bellowing roar as the flames came at me at all sides.

Baba Yaga laughed at the sound of the vampire's cries of pain, relishing every moment. She decided she'd play with the vampire a little more before she finally killed him, and hopefully crush his soul at the same time. The more hopelessly filled with anguish and despair someone was, the more delicious a meal they made, after all.
With every one of her victims, Baba Yaga found something precious. With the last vampire she'd destroyed, it had been a locket belonging to her mother. Once the precious thing was discovered, Baba Yaga would release the victim, making them believe they had a chance at saving what was precious to them.
After a while- sometimes hours, once or twice, even a few days- of torment, the witch would crush and destroy the thing the person held dear to them, before killing them with one swift blow. This method of killing meant that every victim no longer had a reaon to live, and had fresh misery in their spirit for her to feast upon.
With that in mind, Baba Yaga released the vampire's feet so he could move, but didn't stop the flames until she had moved the thing she figured he held precious. She'd never met a vampire who's precious thing was a human before, and was curious to see how it would work out.
Shadows that fell upon the road twisted into grotesquely clawed hands, before reaching out and grabbing the girl that lay unconcious on the floor. The shadows twisted and shifted into a tall human-shaped figure, and stood holding tightly onto the girl.
Baba Yaga, satisfied that the vampire woud not easily 'rescue' the girl, stopped the flames and began to taunt the man.
''You know, I normally only eat vampires, but... If you've been protecting this girl, there must be something special about her. Perhaps I'll feed on her as well, eh?''

You would think that the overwhelming, staggering pain would diminish as the flames stopped coming towards me. But the words coming out of the old woman's revolting mouth just brought more anguish. Vampires weren't supposed to have hearts. I was still wondering, to this day, why I was able to feel such agony.
"You... You can't..."
I was starting to feel weak from her torture, though I gave up on... Giving up. Until Song was certainly taken from me, I wouldn't give up.
If only I had that strength physically and mentally to outwit the witch.
"You can't touch her!"
I finally found the words though my skin was still scorching from the sting of the flames. As I turned my feet and ran toward Song, that's when I noticed the shadows holding her. Defeat lay  like a burden on my shoulders, but I refused to give up once again.
"Give her to me."
I said angrily as I stared back at the old woman, my eyes red, and my fists clenching, so tight I'm surprised they didn't crack into a myriad of pieces.
That's what I was going to become. Just a myriad of worthless pieces, while Song was all alone.
I ignored the failure that was slapping me right in the face as I glowered back at the woman.

[[Ty thinks. That torturing Eddie is far more fun than should be healthy. o _ o]]

''Oh, can't I? Look at you. You're pathetic, worthless. Why would I give her to you, when I could devour her instead? Don't worry, you'll soon follow. You can tell her how much you failed her in the afterlife.'' The witch laughed again, muttering another spell under her breath and about to send the girl the vampire held dear up in flames, before she had a better idea.
Perhaps outright accusations would fill him with more anguish than her simply dying.
With that thought in mind, Baba Yaga changed the words of her spell into an awakening one instead, casting it upon the girl before grinning a viscious smile at Eddie again.
''Hehe... Although, perhaps you'd rather tell her how much you've failed her right now?'' She cursed the ground around the vampire's feet, sending vines with thorns that resembled razors up from the ground to twist and wrap around his legs, tightening and piercing into his flesh.
At that moment, the shadow placed Song onto the floor and stood behind her as she opened her eyes and sat up.

~~~~~
When I saw my love, scorched and with wounds and blood all over him, my face contorted into one of anguish and despair. Someone had done that to him, tortured him like that, and I wasn't able to do anything to stop it.
Scrambling to my feet, I was about to run to him when the something gripped my arm, holding me in place. I glanced back, and my eyes widened as I saw what looked like nothing more than a demonic shadow.
''Eddie...?'' I whispered, unsure of what was happening, and just wanting to hear his voice.
''Go on, vampire. Tell her how you've failed her.''
[[HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh,  Ty. You're the only one on this site that can literally make me LoL. <333333 ]]
".... tell her how much you failed her in the afterlife..."
I tried to get those words out of my head, though was unsuccessful. Why did it bother me, how she said that? How true the words were. How I realized I wouldn't really see her in the afterlife.
My thoughts came back to the current situation as I felt pain strip down my legs from vines clenching my calves. I pressed my teeth and lips together, holding out another cry of pain. I would ask myself why she was doing this to me, but I already knew the answer.
She was right. I had failed to save Song, completely. Anything I ever tried to do, would save her for the time being, but more bad things always happened in the end. Like right now. We got away from the wolf, but by me wanting her to be as far away as possible from him, we were now in this situation.
I couldn't hold back anymore as tears streamed down my face and my voice cracked with another cry of pain. Why wasn't anyone hearing my echo?
And then I heard the angelic voice of Song. For that one moment, one beautiful second, all was  okay. Like this was all a dream.
Like I wasn't betraying Song unintentionally.
"Song..."
I whispered, though I couldn't smile. Knowing that relief of hearing her voice wasn't going to last for ever.
"I'm so sorry..."
I started, following what the woman ordered. Seeing as these were our last moments, I wasn't going to spend them crying, shouting, or cursing mentally at the woman.
I'd savor every breath Song took, every sound of her - for right now - beating heart.
"She's right, Song. Everything I've done has hurt you somehow. I know you don't like me making the decisions for you, but sometimes my instincts make me protective. I had to somehow know you were safe, and leaving America was the only way to satisfy me. I'm..."
I shifted, my lips trembling from the vines, my whole body weak and defeated.
"I'm sorry. I only did it because I love you. I'll love you until my very last breath, and no magic can take that away."
At the last part, I couldn't help but do a weak glower at the woman. My voice cracked many times through out my confession of love and apology for Song,  mostly because I was tired and still in pain in my legs. But, it was done. I said it, she was going to take Song away, and I would never have her in my arms again.
[[Mai apologies for that. Computer spazzed and deleted everything. - _-
Butanyway. Well, that's the power of the Ty, y'see~ xD Also. How can you Lol when Eddie's gonna be KILLED?! Looks liek Ty's gonna have to be the mature one for once. >:c
-laughs- Lol is such a funny word, though. The way it sounds. Llll-ooooooo-lll. xD]]
I listened to what Eddie had to say, my heart aching. His voice was cracked and strangled, as if she'd been torturing him... Something told me she had, and that made my blood boil.
At first, I hadn't understood what his explanations were for. When he apologised, said he was sorry, though, I knew instantly. He was apologising for something that the old hag had done, apologising for not being able to be the superhero he'd been for so long.
And when I heard those words, it was clear to even me that he'd given up. One thought ran through my mind, and one thought only. That thought was how much of an idiot Eddie was if he really thought he had to apologise for anything. True, I wouldn't be in this position if I'd never known him, but even if I'd survived the attack that first night... I'd never truly have lived.
I'd never lived at all, not really. Not until I'd met my Eddie.
I'd never expected to die like that, and I doubted Eddie had either. I don't know how I had expected to die, but it wasn't by being killed by some witch. More importantly, the one way I didn't want to die was with the knowledge that my love was going to die shortly after.
''Don't apologise, Eddie. There's no reason to. You didn't give up, and that's enough.'' To be honest, I wouldn't have cared if I died right there, if it wasn't for the fact that Eddie would be hurt. Before I did die, though, I had to make sure he knew how I felt.
''I love you too, Eddie. Don't ever think that not being strong enough for something will ever change that.'' I smiled, although I don't know why. Maybe it was just in the hopes that I could convince my love to be happy, if I smiled, even if it was a longshot.
~~~~~

Baba Yaga, disgusted at how Eddie and Song were expressing their love for each other, decided her games had gone long enough. Reaching to her hip, she pulled a dagger out of it's hilt, walking towards Song and intending to kill her slowly before the vampire's eyes.
''Tch. Let me tell you, vampire, by the time I'm done with her, she won't be able to feel love for her own mother, let alone you.''
The shadow creature held Song's arms behind her back and stopped her from running, and despite looking at Baba Yaga with a look of defiance in her eyes, she couldn't help but lean back slightly as the dagger was raised.
Perhaps the only downside Baba Yaga had then, though, was that her back was to the vampire.
