Don't apologize? The statement from Callie ran through my mind in confusion. She was in the middle of a vampire war, we could say, and she was telling me not to apologize for getting her involved? She could die!

If I had just stayed at the cavern, this wouldn't be happening. Callie would still be oblivious about vampires in the world, and probably find a guy that has much more... Self control. In all areas. 

My mind came back to the present at her offer. It sounded like a good place to stay for a while.
"Of course I'll be there, Callie." 

I said softly before setting her down. "Would you rather go by car?" Going by car might be easier then running at full speed with her directions.
