Markus shrugged one shoulder. "Sometimes. But I do have a little birdie friend." One corner of his lips quirked up into a smile. "She helps erase the pain of being lonely."

Just a bird? I couldn't help but smile at his own smile but I still felt sorry for him. "I know I'd still feel lonely..." I mumbled before leaning back on my chair. "So... Tell me something in Greek." I said, while crossing my arms.

Markus pretended he didn't hear her mumble, when he actually did. Having his raven friend around made him feel less alone, but she couldn't talk back. Though, at her strange request, he cocked his head to one side. "Thélo̱ na sas kratí̱so̱ sfichtá kai na sas kaloún orycheío," he whispered.
[[ "I want to hold you tight and call you mine." Is what he said. ]]

My smile reached my eyes as I heard him speak in Greek. "What did you say?" I asked, leaning forward again on the table, intrigued.

Markus tilted his head down slightly to let his hair cover his eyes. "I want to hold you tight and call you mine," he said in that same soft tone as before. As she leaned across the table, he could smell her sweet scent. The female, strawberry, and ambrosial scent that made his mouth water. Though, he quickly swallowed that and his fears of someday losing control around her.

Well, that was bold. I almost wished I hadn't heard what he said. With a swallowed, I looked down at the table; ignoring my cheeks and how they burned hotter then ever before. "I..." Oh gosh, what was I supposed to say to that? I looked back up at him, a smile covering my face again to hide my embarrassment. "...How's cleaning the cafeteria going?" Changing the subject was my only way out.

Markus wasn't surprised with the change of conversation. He could smell her embarrassment even though she tried to smother it with a smile. Though, at her question, he shrugged. "Long. Boring. Uh... Time-consuming..." Markus said, though trailing off at the last one since he wasn't sure he said it right... Or used it in the correct context.

[[Gotta go. ]]
Just as I was about to respond - glad that he kept going with the change in conversation - the bell rang for next class. I didn't get much information that I was supposed to get about him for Adam, though I didn't care. "I'll see you." I said before getting up from the chair and getting to class.

Markus nodded, signalling that he heard her as she left. He sat there for several more minutes, disregarding the next bell. Then, he stood up, grabbed his backpack and walked to his next class. Markus didn't really care if he was going to be late or not as he rubbed his throat again. The constriction had come back.

"I don't feel comfortable with this, anymore..." I whispered with a frown through my phone - Adam on the other end of the conversation. He was asking me where Markus was right now and I was starting to have enough of this. "Just follow where he drives, he won't see you..." I slammed my locker angrily when I was finished getting all of my homework books. "You asked me to get some info about him and come back to you. You didn't tell me to... Follow him home!" I said the last part through my teeth as I grabbed my back pack and started walking outside. "Oh, come on. What if I payed you?" Money wasn't much of a good bargain for me, and I didn't hesitate to say, "I'm not following him home." "Please? Everything we need to know could be right at his house..." "First of, it's what you need to know, I truly don't care. Secondly, I'm not going to stalk him to his house. I'm done, I don't want to do any of this anymore." A long pause was on the other end before a more low, flirtatious voice came from the other end. "Sweetie, can't you do this one little thing for me? Markus won't see you. And if he does... Just leave. Nothing will happen to that pretty head of yours." "... I don't have a car." I mumbled. It was embarrassing to say that I was the only one in my class with no license but it had to be said. I could never follow Markus home with that motorcycle of his. "Then trick him into giving you a ride and getting to his house." "How am I supposed to do-" Adam hung up. I sighed angrily, the wind blowing harder then usual as I crossed my arms to keep them warm.

Markus was straddling his bike, letting it balance beneath him since he had already pushed up the kickstand. Then, he patted his leather jacket for the machine's keys. Muttering choices phrases in his ancient tongue, he smirked when he finally found it. Slipping the bike's key into the ignition, he started the engine and it purred to life beneath him. Backing out of his parking space, he slowly drove the bike towards the exit of the student lot.

Just as I heard Markus's engine, I was thinking of how I could do this without looking stupid. But as he started driving away, I could only think of one solution. One that would most likely make me look stupid. "Markus!" My voice was so naturally quiet, I doubted I could get loud enough. I started for a run, ignoring how many times I almost fell flat on my face from the ice.

"Markus!"
The vampire stopped when he heard his name being called. The bike purred gently beneath as it paused its rolling. Markus glanced in the direction that his name being called. It turned out that it was Paradise who said it. Blinking once, he waited until she came close enough before speaking; "Yes?"

While taking deep breaths for a moment to calm my beating heart from the running - I truly was out of shape - I put strands of hair behind my cold ears. "D-do you... think you can... Give me a ride?" I had no idea how that would help me get to his house but I thought it would be easy enough to say I lost my key and somehow had to come home with him. Easy enough, right?
It was then that I realized what he was riding. And how much I was against motorcycles. I frowned at the bike before smiling up at Markus.

Markus cocked his head to one side. "Of course. But, where you live?" he asked as he scooted forward slightly on the seat of the bike before motioning Paradise to get onto it.

My heart only started beating faster at the idea of getting on this bike. It was either that or his accent, but I ignored it either way. I'd never even touched a motorcycle before, and now I was going to do this... Just for Adam? I knew I was going to throw up if I even got on it. "Uh..." I took one more look at the motorcycle before getting in behind him. "It's close by." I whispered, feeling sick before wrapping my arms around his waist so tightly my shoulders ached. At that moment, I didn't care if it hurt him - though I highly doubted it did.

Markus grunted at the tight hold Paradise had decided on when she wrapped her arms around his waist. Glancing over his shoulder he said with a smile curving his lips; "Relax. Tell me the directions as if I were a horse. Poke right to turn right, poke left to turn left. Poke both sides to stop." Then, he cocked his head to one side. "Similar, just left out the pulling." Then, he released the clutch and slowly pulled out of the student lot before launching down the road at a semi-moderate speed.

Though Markus wasn't one of those speedy types, I could only relax my grip on his waist slightly. "Fine..." Was all I could muster as he pulled out of the parking lot. I did as he said and poked him right as he pulled out, but for the most part I wanted to keep my eyes closed. Why was I such a goody - two shoes? If I was more risky, I wouldn't be terrified right now. And, to think, this was all for Adam. I made myself sick sometimes.
