Zera watched out of the corner of her eye as Zane packed up the tent and the things that had been set up for the night that they spent there. She crossed her arms and waited patiently, going through a tune that had been put into her head by the maids that used to walk around the castle.
Her eyes drifted to Zane as he walked up to her. He had a grin on his face. Though it wasn't a very big one, she could still see it. Her lips threatened to turn up into a grin of her own, but she fought it back. It wasn't noticeable, though.
Zane offered to carry her again, the princess noted. So it seemed he wasn't bothered by this. By toting her around like a sack of potatoes. Heck, if she was getting a free ride to the falls, she would take it.
Though, the slightly scared, more thoughtful part of Zera was resistant to going to him. Zera didn't want Zane to notice this, so she returned his grin quickly and said, "You're still going to carry me, mister." She grinned and moved closer to him, angling herself so that she would be easier to pick up.
Ooc:// Feel free to power-play him picking her up and walking to the falls.

Zane grinned as Zera moved closer to him. He put a hand under her arms, the other under her legs, carrying her bridal style. He pulled her close to his body, close, but not enough to hurt her. Never enough to hurt her....
Zane began to walk towards the falls, as it wasn't very far away. His mind was wondering what exactly the witch would say. He had so many questions for her. Like, what was the strange electrical feeling he received everytime they touched? Or why wasn't he able to drink that other man's blood? More likely, why did the man's blood make him sick? Why was the sun effecting him more?
The list went on and on.
"Are you comfortable?"
Zane finally asked the girl, realizing he had been ignoring her for a few minutes. And his attention wanted to be on her all of the time.
"It'll only been a couple more minutes..."

Zera let herself relax as Zane pulled her up and against his body. She was perfectly fine right there. In fact, she didn't ever want to get down. But she was sure that Zane's large, muscular muscles had to get tired sometime. No matter how strong he was, if he carried her around enough, surely he had to get tired, right?
Hm. She'd have to ask that later.
If he would never get tired, then she'd never need to walk. But then her legs would get all flabby and... Yeah. She'd still walk. No lack of walking for her. She brushed some of her hair, which had dried into loose waves, behind her ear.
When they had been walking for a while, Zera's thoughts were broken as Zane spoke.
Was she comfortable? Was she comfortable!? Ha! She was as comfortable as she'd ever be! As comfortable as she'd ever been, in fact. Well, other than that time that she slept with her head on his chest. That was when she was the most comfortable. But they hadn't even kissed each other, then. They hadn't even known that their feelings were shared.
The princess put her head on his shoulder and laced her arms around his neck. "I'm perfectly comfortable," she said, smiling slightly up at him. She was glad that it would only be a few more minutes before she got to see this 'old friend' of his. She wasn't even sure if the person was old and a friend, or if it was just an old friend.
Strange how things like that were hard to distinguish when someone said it, right?
"So, who is this 'old friend' of yours, anyway?"
The question had been killing her. She had to ask it.

Zane gulped at her question. He had really, really hoped that she wouldn't ask that. He knew it was his past and everything, but he couldn't help but feel guilty about it. I mean, when he said in the past, it had to be about 80 years before Zera was even born. But, why did he feel guilty, then?
"Well, Zera..." Zane started, biting his lip nervously about that. "There's something that you should know about The Witch, my old friend. She's more than just that... We used to be..." He paused. What had they used to be? Not a couple, not anything that was more than physical stuff. "We used to be lovers."
Well, that sounded bad. Zane shook his head at the word, even though it was completely accurate. They weren't romantically involved. She was his physical release when he needed it the most. Which, about a century ago, was a lot.
"But that was way before you were even born." Zane added quickly, trying to make it not sound so bad. But, was he saying she was old? No. In fact, the Witch was quite young, and beautiful. One of those sexy, creatures of the night. Her dark magic had kept her living, and young, for a very, very long time.
Zane paused, biting his lip once more. He really shoved his foot in his mouth this time. Thank God they were at the falls.

Zera watched as Zane gulped right after she asked her question. She almost furrowed her brows. Every time that man gulped at one of her questions, she knew something was about to be said, and that either Zane didn't like admitting to it, or that he thought she wouldn't like the answer. He either lied or told the truth.
When Zane spoke, Zera listened intently. So his old friend was a witch. She was more than what? They used to be?
Lovers? Zera's eyes widened. This man. The one that she'd spent all of her time hugging and holding and loving- Woah. Wait. Loving? Zera bit her lip at the thought. Was that what this was? Or did they simply provide one-another comfort when it was needed? Act upon primal impulses? Well, so far they had done nothing more than kissing, and Zera really preferred to keep it that way until she was married- if she could help it.
But this man. Zane. He was leading her to some ex-lover of his? She thought she'd never live to see the day that a man admitted to such things. Though, she did give Zane credit for saying it. If the witch had told her, the princess probably would have ended up getting so mad at Zane for not speaking up that she wouldn't kiss him for weeks.
And then she'd break down and kiss him until she passed out most, likely.
The fact that it happened way before Zera was born didn't help the situation, though. It was good to know, though, when it had happened. She was thankful for him telling her all of this. It must have been hard.
She looked at the sheet of water rocketing off of the top of a cliff and pounding onto the water below. It was so gorgeous. Why were they at the falls, anyways? She didn't know, but, seeing as how Zane's last answer had surprised her so much, she decided not to ask another question. She may faint this time.
She unhooked her legs from being in Zane's arms and placed her feet gently on the ground, moving so that she wasn't in Zane's arms anymore, but standing beside him, her bicep brushing against his lightly.
"You lead the way," Zera said, offering Zane a small, but concerned smile. What would all of this lead to? What would the witch be like? Would she still be the lover that Zane once had? Zera hoped not. She hoped that the hag had aged, and that she no longer had Zane's attention anymore.
Wait. Why was she acting jealous?
Zera shook the jealous thoughts off.
And then it struck her that around sixty years from now, Zane may tell some other girl about her, and how they were.... she couldn't describe what they were in words. It was an odd relationship that they shared.... Well, he may tell some other girl about her years and years from that day, and that girl may hope that Zera aged, and was old and wrinkly.
That girl may also hope that Zane's previous... whatever she was to him, no longer held his eye.

Zane wordlessly let Zera climb down from his arms. He probably wouldn't have wanted to be in them either, after hearing that. He still couldn't believe she was standing that close to him. If she had told him they were going to one of her old lovers, He would be pissed. Pissed, jealous, and not going.
You lead the way? Zane's mouth twitched, attempting to form a smile. One wouldn't come. He was worried about this meeting. Not for the Witch. No. She could hold her own just fine. But he was worried for Zera... Who knows what the girl was going to encounter.
Would the Witch notice how Zane felt about her? But of course. She noticed everything. She would also probably go into great details about what she had done for Zane in his, ahem, time of need. She would probably try to seduce Zane once again, attempting to make Zera jealous.
Zane shuddered at the thought. He reached down and grasped the Princess' hand in his own. If he needed her at any moment, this would be it. He silently walked towards the falls, keeping Zera's hand in his. He stopped at the edge of the falls, looking at the small rock slabs that led to behind the waterfall.
Zane reluctantly let go of the girl's hand, disappearing into the water and coming back from behind the falls. He wiped the water from his face, pushing his wet hair back. He was not looking forward to this almost as much as he was.

Zera's smile disappeared as Zane didn't return it. Perhaps he was still upset about admitting to what he did in the past... She wasn't angry. Just a bit jealous.
No. No jealousy, Zera. Bad Zera!
She was glad that clasped his hand over hers, though. It was a comforting touch. Perhaps he also had odd feelings about this visit. She was beginning to believe it was so. Of course, those odd feelings would be about the witch right. Or possibly her. She never could read Zane very well. Of course, Zera wasn't ever really able to read anyone very well.
Sure, she was intelligent, but when it came to matters of emotions and facial expressions, Zera could only learn to distinguish a few of them, and what they meant.
Her eyes watched Zane curiously as he released her hand, and walked towards the falls.
What was he doing?
He walked into the falls.
Perhaps he wanted to cool off? Zera's brows furrowed with confusion.
And then he walked past the falls, disappearing somewhere on the opposite side.
Zera's eyes widened, and she swore she heard her jaw land somewhere on the ground. Her mouth hung open, and she searched the wall of water before him. Where did he go? Did he use some sort of magic?
Deciding to actually feel if Zane was there, Zera put her arm into the waterfall. The water was pounding, but it didn't harm her, nor did it make it hard for her to move. She stuck her arm in further and further until she had her arm in up to her shoulder. She felt that no water was hitting from her elbow forward, so she decided that perhaps there was some sort of cave behind it. Though, she was still skeptical.
She put her other arm through and held her hands out to ensure that she didn't run into a rock wall or Zane. She came out on the other side of the waterfall looking like a sopping wet zombie fish. it was rather funny. When she realized that she'd walked through to the other side, the girl opened her eyes, pushed back the hair that had fallen in her face, and looked down at her drenched clothes.
Her dress clung to her figure, much to her dismay. She disliked overly-clingy clothes. And most men seemed to love them. Still, the dress fanned out around her waist. It only clung tightly to her torso. The princess pulled her wet hair over one shoulder, and looked to Zane, a sheepish grin on her face.
She could only imagine how she'd looked when she first came through.
She thought she'd looked like a drowned rat.

Zane looked at the wall of water curiously. What in the world was Zera doing? He saw the girl's arm pierce through the water. He just... didn't understand what in the world she was doing! Then her other arm came through the water. Finally, the rest of her came out.
Zane bit his lip to keep from laughing as Zera emerged from the water. She... She looked like a fish out of water. Her hair was dripping wet, as was her dress... Oh no. Zane, though a vampire, was still man. And that top was tempting him in the worst ways. The very worst of ways.
Zane clasped his hands behind his back, adverting his eyes from the girl completely. Otherwise, he'd find himself staring. And, well, that would be entirely embarrassing. Plus, Zera would probably be very, very uncomfortable with that. Though, he couldn't speak for her completely. She might just love his oogling her chest.
Zane finally started walking towards the girl, eyes on the ground. He stopped when he was right in front her, finally bringing his eyes up. Zane cracked a crooked smile, taking a loose strand of wet hair and tucking it behind the girl's ear.
"We're almost there, love," The vampire said, reaching for Zera's hand. He needed that little support system of holding hands for this trip. He really, really did.

Ooc:// That wasn't so bad. :D

Zera watched as Zane averted his eyes from her quickly. It was actually a bit funny. Was her dress that tempting? She discreetly dropped her eyes to look down at her torso. Hm...... To some men, that would be quite the interesting thing to stare at. But she was glad that Zane was kind enough to keep his eyes from straying to odd places.
She had just finished ringing out some of her hair when she saw Zane begin to walk towards her. He kept his eyes down, only bringing them to her face once he reached her. She returned his crooked smile with a small one of hers, and felt chills rise on her skin from both a mixture of being soaked and Zane's light touch.
She was glad that they were almost there. Perhaps the witch would have some cloth that they could dry off with or something. That would make her day. Her dark grey eyes dropped down to her hand as she felt Zane's fingers lightly brush against hers. She laced her fingers through his and looked up at her captor again.
She moved forward and lightly tugged him away from the falls. "I sure hope the witch's home is warm."

Zane followed the girl, his mind off in lala land. It took him a moment to process what Zera had said, but after he did, the man gave off a shaky, nervous laugh. That house was going to be hot, in more ways than one.
They walked about 100ft when a little cottage came into view. Weird, for being inside a waterfall, but there nonetheless. The door flew open, revealing a woman... The witch. She stood at her tall height of 5'9", her trim body that was curvy in all the right places accented by a tight, short black dress. Definitely not appropriate wear for any noble ti tle.
Zane's eyes made their way to the Witch's face. He sucked in a short breath. She had grown prettier. Her long, blonde hair hung in loose curls down to the middle of her back. Her sapphire blue eyes shone brightly, accented with black eyeliner. And her full lips were painted red. She was... breathtaking.
"Oh, Zane!" The Witch said, smiling her stunning grin, showing her perfectly white teeth. "And friend." She added, throwing a short glance at Zera. Though, she paused, glaring at the fact the two were holding hands.
The Witch walked her way to Zane, throwing her arms open and pulling him into a tight, chest pressing hug. One which he did not return. Though, he couldn't help but bite his lip as the girl pressed her perfect body into his. She always knew which buttons to press. Or unbutton, back in the day.
"Come. Come," The Witch said, taking Zane's hand in hers, entwining their fingers as she pulled him to the door, who in turn pulled Zera. They made their way to the door, a short distance, then entered the cottage. The little home was much, much more spacious than it appeared to be. It was like it had been expanded by magic...
"Zane, darling," The Witch said, dropping his hand and turning to face him. She cupped his cheek in her hand, right before leaning in and kissing it. "Tell me, why've you come? Is it because you couldn't resist me? I can heat up our nights like I did nearly 90 years ago."
Zane frowned, rubbing the red makeup off of his face. He glared at the Witch, shuffling closer to Zera. He eyed her suspiciously as the woman walked towards him, circling to his back. The man stiffed as he felt the Witch drag her hand up his pants.
"And this girl can watch, no?"
Zane blushed. For the first time in centuries.
"No, Witch. No."
Zane said, his voice hard, demanding. He pulled the girl's hand off of his trousers, putting it back at her side.
"We have a few questions we need answered..."
The Witch took her hand back, throwing another glare at Zera, whom she obviously didn't like.
"Fine. Go to the couch. I'll boil some tea. Since you refuse to have a little fun."

Zera allowed Zane to lead her, only half-conscious of the fact that Zane hadn't answered her. Before long, she realized that there was a cottage up ahead. It didn't look like the place to house a witch.... Was that the witch's home? It was odd to think of such a place meant to hold a dark-magic user.
No sooner had they gotten close to the cottage than when the door flew open. The absence of the door revealed a sight that would make most men drool, and possibly go to their knees. Was this Zane's ex-lover? Why had he ever left her? What had occured?
The witch didn't address Zera, but she immediately seemed to recognize Zane, the princess noted. Then the witch looked to her, and glared at the connection of their hands. What was her deal? Was she jealous or something? Zera was the one that had been jealous before, and she still was jealous of the woman. Such good looks must attract men like flies to a carcass.
But such beauty hid uglier truths. Zera was willing to bet that all of that beauty came at a price for the witch.
Zera's face stiffened as the witch pulled her vampire into a chest-pressing hug. Perhaps she'd have to try that some time. If she wanted Zaniell to tell her something, perhaps. She clenched her teeth as the witch grabbed Zane's hand, and tugged all of them into the cottage.
The cottage was odd, Zera noticed. It seemed more roomy on the inside than it had appeared from the outside. Magic. That was the only explanation. Zera settled it at that, brushing some of her still-damp hair behind her ears.
Darling? The witch called Zane darling? Zera was the one glaring daggers at that moment, though the witch seemed so caught up with Zane that she didn't notice. Her face reddened when the witch kissed Zane's cheek, and paled as she spoke about 'heating' up nights. She drew her hand away from Zane's, a bit uncomfortable with all of this now.
Her face paled again as the witch circled Zane, and put her hand on his trousers. Her cheeks reddened again as she mentioned Zera watching. This witch just wanted to be torturous. The princess licked her lips to keep herself busy. Also, her mouth had began to feel dry ever since she saw the woman interracting with Zane.
To Zera's advantage, and seemingly to the witch's dismay, Zane declined, and Zera let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
As the witch left, Zera could feel her eyes on her, glaring, but she was looking down, so she didn't even see. She placed both of her hands in her lap as she moved to the couch, the one the witch had referred to, she guessed, and sat down.
She didn't look at Zane for a while.

Zane folded his hands together, his now free hands. He was slightly upset that Zera let his hand go, though he could understand her reasoning. The Witch... She wasn't exactly making this visit easy. In fact, she was purposely making it more difficult than needed to be. I guess they called her the witch for no reason...
Zane made his way to the couch slowly, making sure to not step on anything or bump anything as he did so. He didn't want Witch to start going all crazy on him. Which, of course, she would. She'd demand payment then expect it to not be in money, but in years of life or... favors. Neither of which anyone was willing to give her.
The vampire plopped on the couch, careful not to hit Zera. She wasn't even looking at him, so, he assumed that she was angry. Of perhaps disgusted. He probably would have been both. In fact, he was. With himself, not her.
"Drink up, Darling," Witch said, setting a tray of tea down on the small table. She sat down in the chair across from Zane and Zera, sipping her own cup of tea. She eyed the space between them curiously.
"Is that what you're here for?" Witch asked them, pointing to the space. "That electricity, that isn't actually electricity?"
Zane frowned, looking at the space. She could physically see their connection? Odd. Even for a witch. "Well, that, among other things."
"Oh, you mean why other's blood makes you sick? Or perhaps you becoming weaker in the sun? Maybe we should talk about your connection."
Zane stared at the Witch, eyes wide. How had she known...?
"Zane. You forget what I am." The Witch replied, setting down her tea. The woman clasped her hands together, looking only at Zane as she spoke. "Interesting, you know. That you have this connection. I haven't seen one in over a thousand years."
Zane looked at the witch like she was crazy. What was she talking about?
"You see, Zane, before you bit the girl, you were her guardian. I know that doesn't mean anything to you. Guardians are vampires whose fates are entwined with that of a human's they are to protect. Zera, here, is your human."
The Witch paused, a sparkle of mischief blazing in her eyes.
"Unfortunately, you've made a blood connection when you bit her. Feels good, doesn't it love?" That last question was meant for Zera, referring to the bites. "Anyways. You sealed your fate with that connection. And... Because of that, either you both will live forever, or die in eachother's arms."
...
"Zane. I swear. Sometimes you are so dimwitted, love." The witch said, rolling her eyes. "It means, if your love here dies, so will you. If she gets an injury, you will sustain it also. And the list goes on." The witch pursed her lips thoughtfully. "That is unless, of course, you decide to change her. Tell me Zane, do you love Zera enough to live with her forever? Or, should I be asking Zera if she loves you enough to live you you forever?"

Zera felt the couch sink as Zane sat beside her. She didn't look at him yet, still a bit uncomfortable with all of this. How could someone blame her for feeling that way? She was stuck here with Zane and his ex-lover, who'd already tried to get him in bed with her again- and asked that Zera watch. Plus, she was the only human in the room. She felt like a fish out of water.
When the tea was set down, and the witch returned, Zera kept her gaze low. She was afraid she would see Zane and the witch sharing heated glances. That would really make her leave. She didn't take the tea that was set down. The witch could have poisoned it or something.
When the witch mentioned the electricity that wasn't really what it seemed, Zera's eyes flickered up, a surprised look on her face. How..... How did she know that? It was odd that she knew that already. Impossible. All of this was impossible. She shouldn't be here. She should be out in the woods with Zane, not having to stand to have some other woman seduce her vampire.
She didn't hear what Zane said. All of her attention was focused on the witch. That, and she was trying to comprehend what the lady had said. It was difficult to understand. When the witch mentioned the other man's blood making him sick, she turned to face Zane.
He hadn't told her that he was sick. Had he hidden it from her? She let him feed from her not long after that. Did that help any? And he was getting weaker in the sun? More than usual?
Connection?
Her eyes flicked back to the witch at the word. She had just said that there was a connection. Zera had been smart enough by now to figure out that all of these things had a connection to one-another, but-
She was wrong. As the witch explained, Zera found that it wasn't only the events that shared a connection, but it seemed that she and Zaniell shared one, also. Her eyes widened. This was.... Was that what all of those electric feelings were? The ones that overtook her body when her vampire fed from her? The ones that she received when he touched her?
And better yet, the witch hadn't seen one in a thousand years.
She was a thousand years old? Zera furrowed her brows momentarily. Magic-users and their age-cheating magic.
When the witch addressed Zera with a question, Zera gulped. Zane's bites did feel good. Wonderful, really. It was just..... they made her so calm and serene. How had the witch known what it felt like?
So now it seemed that Zera and Zane shared a blood connection.
When the witch finished speaking, the most awkward silence that could have ever occured ensued shortly afterward, but was broken by the witch's voice once again.
When the witch finished speaking again, Zera's face paled.
You will be the death of me.
Zaniell had said that earlier that morning.
She didn't want to be the death of him. Tears almost threatened to prick at her eyes. To know that when she got hurt, she would cause him pain.... He would be just as fragile as she was. It was a terrible feeling. One that Zera wished she didn't have to go through.
But living forever did sound nice. Especially if it was with Zane. When the witch asked her if she loved Zane enough to live forever, she let her face harden. Time to show this bi- She meant witch- what she was made of. That she wasn't just some timid girl.
"I'm not going to speak of love to a woman who has no concept of it," she said, narrowing her eyes at the tall blonde.
From what Zera had seen, the woman knew nothing of love. or how it was to be respected. She'd tried to seduce Zane, yet she could obviously see the connection they shared.
It made her want to strangle the woman.

The Witch smiled cruelly at Zera's comment. Oh, no concept of love? Well, when you were old as she was, with a career as dark and dirty as hers... Love wasn't an option. Love made you weak and susceptible to danger. The Witch would never allow herself to get attached. That's why she was thankful when Zane had broken it off.
"Zane, I see you've gotten yourself a fighter... You always did have a thing for the feisty ones."
Zane glared at the Witch for only a moment before turning to Zera. He, hesitantly, reached over and gently put his hand on the top of the girl's knee. He shook his head at her, hoping she wouldn't say anything more. Now, in front of the Witch, was not a good time to be making comments.
"I thank you, Witch," Zane said softly, turning to make eye contact with the woman. His face was devoid of any emotion. This woman no longer had anything he wanted. She was... just another pretty face. Amazing, that not too long ago, she happened to be so much more.
"And what do you require for payment today, Witch?"
This question brought a large smile to the Witch's face. She clasped her hands together, pulling up out of her chair. She pursed her lips for a moment before replying.
"As you know, Zane, I require years as my payment. You're what? Stuck at 19 at the moment? How would you feel being stuck at 22? You know three years is my average payment." The Witch turned to look at Zera. "That is, unless your precious," that word sounded like poison from her mouth, "Zera wishes to give three years to me."
Zane stood, taking his hand off the girl's knee. He stood in front of Zera, as if he were protecting her from the Witch.
"Never in a million years will I let you touch Zera." Zane growled at the woman. And he meant it. She'd just take everything the man loved about the girl away. He would never allow that to happen.
