Zera watched as he stood silent for a few moments. She could only imagine all of the crazy expressions he was probably letting loose under the secrecy of that hood shadowing his face. She felt a small smirk spread onto her face.
But as her captor spoke, her ex
pression was traded for one of anger, and then one of confusion. What? What did her father have to do with this? Why was he bringing her family into this. And then he just left without another word.
Audibly growling, Zera knew that his plan was to lure her out there, using her own curiosity to his advantage. She knew his plan, and she followed it anyways. Darn that stupid violet-eyed boy. She stormed out of the door after him.
She had left the blanket in the room, and the knapsack was in her left hand. Her face was twisted in an ex
pression of frustration, curiosity, and anger. "What on earth does my father have to do with this?" She put her hands on her hips.

Zaniell turned back to face the girl. "You didn't want to bring your blanket along?" He asked, ignoring her question about her father completely. "Nevermind. I'll get it. It's going to be cold where we're going; you might need it." Zane walked past the Princess; he was so close they nearly touched. God forbid their shoulders touch!
Zane walked quicker than any normal human would as he retrieved the blanket the girl had left behind. He returned with the same speed. Secretly, he hoped she would be confused as to what he was and would shut up. Dreams die young, especially his.

Zera couldn't keep up with her captor. He moved way too fast, and she was beginning to wonder if he had some sort of magical powers. Surely not. There had to be a reasonable explanation for his ability to move so quickly, and with a predator's grace.
When he returned with her blanket, she snatched it from him, folded it in half and wrapped it around her shoulders much like a shawl. Her eyes were narrowed again. "Why can't you just..." She growled and said, "Fine. But if you don't tell me, I'll hop right off of the horse." She pointed her index finger at him for extra emphasis.
She hadn't ridden a horse in a long time, and she wasn't sure if she could remember how to properly mount the beast. Her grey eyes skimmed over the black horse warily.

Zaniell shrugged at her threat of getting off of the horse. Of course, he was still going to tell her; she hadn't needed to threaten him about it. His mind wandered to what he was going tell her. He wondered if he would end up telling her the truth, or just an alteration of it. She didn't need to die knowing her father gave his only child up for his own wishes.
Zane's eyes drifted upwards and caught Zera staring at the horse warily. He concealed a chuckle as he watched her, not knowing if he should offer or not. She may not like his touch, but chivalry won. "Princess, would you like a boost?" Zane then asked, his tone as if he were reluctant to touch her as well. |

Zera watched as Zane caught her staring. Perhaps he would think nothing of it. Though she really was quite intimidated by the beast before her. She wasn't familiar with this horse, and she didn't know if it would be agitated if she mounted it a different way than Zaniell did.
Princess, would you like a boost?
She turned her head from the horse, which she was staring at again, to Zaniell. Her cheeks reddened slightly, but it wasn't noticeable unless you had a good eye. She raised her nose. "No. I do not need a boost. I am quite capable of mounting a horse by myself." She huffed and turned back to the horse. A cold sweat beaded on the back of her neck.
She stuck her foot into the stirrup and slung her other foot over the horse's back. Upon getting settled, she unhooked the tip of her foot from the stirrup. That was by far one of the most difficult things she had ever willed herself to do. But now that she thought about it, it hadn't been that bad...

If Zaniell hadn't been a vampire, he might have missed Zera's cute little blush. He stopped and blinked, shocked by himself. Did he find the Princess cute? He looked at her from the corner of his eye. The pale skin and freckles suited her well. And those eyes, those gray eyes. Mesmerizing.
Zane watched with a hidden smirk as the Princess climbed her way up the horse. If she didn't hate him, he might have walked over there and lifted her up without her permission. But he might have liked that too much. Zaniell liked his mission much more than he should have at this point. They needed to move quickly before he accidentally made a snack of her.

Zera allowed her eyes to look down on Zane. She felt so tall up here! She almost forgot how wonderful it was to ride a horse. She gently stroked the black horse's mane, the coarse, dark hair falling through her fingers.
All was well. The question was fine. Until he put that extra word before Princess. Her face turned red with both anger and embarassment this time. But mostly anger.
"I am not your princess." Zera's grey eyes searched the shadows that hid his face. "Do not put that word before my ti
tle." She hoped that she looked intimidating. though she doubed that anything would look intimidating to this man.

Okay, so calling Zera 'his' Princess was an accident. But after seeing her reaction, Zaniell was prepared to continue using it the rest of the time they were together. That, and possibly as many pet names that he could think of.
Zane pulled off his hood, revealing a bright, smug smile. He bowed deeply, dramatically to the Princess. "I'm sorry, darling, but you are a princess of my family; hence, a Princess of me. I believe that makes you 'my' Princess." With eyes twinkling full of mischief, Zane grabbed Bears reigns and pulled the horse forward. The vampire was in prime hitting range for the Princess, but he could manage a few hits from her, if she threw them. [[ This is so love hate right now. o.o ]] |

Ooc:// Just give it some time. XD Zera's still a bit angry from being kidnapped. Just wait until the full realization of what's happened hits her. She'll have some sort of emotional breakdown, and after that, she'll soften up. :)

Zera raised her head when he apologized, but then he continued with the sentence, and she found herself staring back down at him, her mouth set into a firm line, and her eyes narrowed.
She noticed just how attractive he was again, and she found herself staring for a moment. His violet eyes were the things that intrigued her the most. That, and the way that cheekbones fit in with his face so perfectly, even if they were high and sharp.
When he said the last sentence, her eyes widened and a blush appeared on her face again. She wasn't his princess. She never would be, and she would not allow herself to be called that. She leaned down, holding onto the horse's mane for stability, and lightly thwacked Zaniell on his shoulder- the first place she thought to hit that wouldn't anger him.
"I'm not your princess." She sat up straight again

Zane couldn't help but smile as the Princess hit him in the shoulder and argued with him. It had been so long since someone had the audacity to challenge him like that. Of course, she didn't know what he was and how dangerous he could be, but for that moment, it didn't matter.
"We'll see about that, Darling," Zane called back to Zera. Without even thinking about, the vampire brought his hand to the shoulder Zera had hit. For some reason, it was tingling, like her touch had some effect on him. He held his hand there for a moment, then realized what he was doing. Zaniell quickly dropped it and kept walking, trying not to keep glancing back at the Princess. That was a full time job for him.

"And don't call me 'Darling', either." Zera bit her lip. "You may call me Princess. There is no 'my' before that. And I have no clue where you got the audacity to call me 'Darling'..." She shook her head, scratching the horse's mane lightly.
She let her eyes drop back down to her captor. He was holding his shoulder. Had she hit him too hard? Perhaps she was stronger than she thought. She decided not to ask about it. Most men got defensive when a woman asked if they injured them.
"Is it safe to be travelling out here, just you and me?" She raised a brow. "Surely there are predators in the woods- possibly even some bandits."

Zaniell smiled when the Princess told him what he could - and could not - call her. Did she really think she could order her kidnapper around? Obviously, she did. Zane shook his head with disbelief, though a smile lingered on his lips.
"Robbers?" He asked, as if it were the stupidest thing he had ever heard. Suddenly, the boy burst into a fit of laughter, one that made him hold his stomach from the pain. "Oh, dar- Princess, when you're with me, we don't have to worry about bandits. And animals of the predatory nature avoid me anyways."
Zane snapped his jaw shut with an audible click. Whoops. Oh well, Zaniell would just avoid the topic by talking about her father, which he wasn't prepared to do just yet. He sighed softly. What had he gotten himself into? |

When her captor laughed at her fears, Zera crossed her arms. So he thought this was funny, hm? She could very well die in such a robbing. She had never been in combat with another human being in her entire life. Her mood wasn't helped when he nearly called her darling, and then put emphasis on her ti tle. She sucked in a deep breath and let it out.
But then Zaniell said the most curious thing... He seemed confident, but not cocky in his abilities. But that wasn't what made her curious. He claimed that predatory animals avoided him. And that made Zera's brain run crazy.
"Don't you think you're being a bit irrational. I mean, you're muscular and strong and all, but if it's you against ten bandits, I'm betting on the bandits. And why do predatory animals avoid you?" She furrowed her brows in confusion.
Her trip just got more interesting by the minute, didn't it?

"Animals avoid me because of my stunning looks and muscular arms, which I see you've noticed," Zaniell's voice was light and teasing, and a smirk played on his lips. So, the Princess had noticed his physique. How interesting.
"And you have little faith in me, Princess," Zaniell continued, keeping his eyes straight on the path. "If it were only 10 bandits, it would be a rather boring fight." He paused to sneak a quick look up at Zera, who looked lost in thought. "As a kidnapper, I have to be trained in certain... How should I put this? Certain qualities which will prepare me for an unfair fight." Sure, you could put it like that, if you must. |

Zera's cheeks reddened again, and she wished that she could find something smart to say to him about that cocky remark, but no smart things came into her head. For once in her life, she had nothing smart to say.
"Why would I harbor faith in my kidnapper?" She gave him a smirk. "And if you think that ten bandits are not hard to beat, then what would happen if you were to encounter a group of knights who were to save me? Hm? My father could send every knight under his power for me." She grinned triumphantly at him.
"And you are very unfair. That much is true." She made a tisking nose. "Kidnapping me in my sleep," she murmured.

Zaniell stayed quiet at her first comment. Why would the king send an army to fight a man he hired himself? He opened his mouth to say something to the Princess, but quickly shut it when he noticed how much she had faith in her father. She wouldn't believe what he told her about the king anyways. It was a little piece of hope that she could still cling to; the thought her father might come to rescue her.
Zera's last remark sent a wide grin to Zaniell's face. "I am but a kidnapper, Princess. Would you have expected me to take you in broad daylight when you could yell for guards? That wouldn't make me very good at my job, which I take pride in." Zane flashed a smug smile Zera's way, the same one she wore when talking about her father's troops. |
