Zera gave him a fake smile. "I love to make things as hard as possible for you, can't you tell?" She felt her stomach ache slightly from hunger. It didn't growl, though, and Zera was grateful for that.
She enjoyed the moments of silence that passed, though she wished she had something to distract her from the aching in her feet. She ended up chewing on her lip and running her fingers through the horse's mane to pass the time.
When the silence was broken, it was something that Zera actually enjoyed. When he mentioned food or drink, her thoughts immediately went to wine. Though the princess had never been drunk before, she had neard several of the knights talking about it. Apparently, it was an experience that was to be had.
She immediately reached back into the saddlebag and grabbed a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine, which visibly lit up her features. Seeing as there was no goblet, Zera was a bit skeptical to drink straight from it at first. However, the thought of the pain-relieving side-effect of the wine made her open it up and take a long drink of it without further adieu.
She bit into the bread, making sure that it was chewed and swallowed before she said, "Are you not hungry?" She looked down at Zane.

Zaniell watched the Princess curiously as she dug through the bag. Surprisingly, she pulled out the bottle of fine wine. Zane furrowed his eyebrows together in concentration. The Princess, well, she couldn't have been older than what, 15 or 16? And he certainly didn't like that she was drinking anyways. But, she had been kidnapped... He'd give her a break, for once.
Zane's eyes grew wide as the girl took a swig straight from the bottle. Very lady-like, it seemed. Then came a very humorous question to Zane. "Hungry?" He repeated, thinking of a good response. "Not for anything in that bag," He said with a sigh, gesturing to the pack on the horse. Perhaps, he thought with a grin, the lady in front of the bag would satisfy my 'hunger'. |

Zera watched as Zaniell spoke. She furrowed her brows and looked down at him. What was he hungry for, then. "If not for anything in the bag, then what are you hungry for?" She raised a brow at him. "Tavern food? Roasted chicken? Or perhaps a nice piece of baked venison." She laughed.
"You're going to have to eat sooner or later, or you'll pass out." She looked straight ahead again and took a smaller swig from the bottle. "I mean, what good would you do as a kidnapper without your strength?" She gave him a mischievous smile.

"I'm hungry for a pretty little lady like yourself, Princess," Zane said to Zera in a teasing voice, winking at her over dramatically. Okay, it wasn't a lie... But sometimes the truth was the best cover.
Zaniell shrugged at her comment. What could he do without his strength? Not much. "Well, if you do recall, Your Highness, I've already eaten a large meal today." 'Eaten' was the wrong verb for what she had done, but saying he fed wouldn't have gone over well at that moment. "Are you worried about me?" He teased her, giving a crooked smile to match her mischievous one. |

Zera paused in mid-bite when Zane said that he was hungry for a lady like herself. She gave him a blank stare for a good few moments, and shook her head dismissively. It was best for her to ignore that. It was quite horrifying. She took another bite of bread, washing it down with the wine. She hadn't made much progress in the bottle, but it didn't take much to get her drunk.
She nodded at his talk about having already eaten a large meal. She did remember that. But he'd done... much between that time and what time it was then. She pursed her lips and looked down at him. Pursing her lips had become an ex
pression of habit for her. "You wish I was worried about you, don't you, Zaniell?" Her tone took on a teasing one.
"After all, it's easier to get a 'pretty little lady' like myself if they worry about you." She matched his crooked smile. Okay. Maybe she was getting a bit bolder now.

Zane raised his eyebrows at Zera's blank stare. What? Did she think he was serious? Oh wait. That's right; he was. But she ignored the comment, only to eat and drink more. Zane was just thankful she was eating bread with that wine. Maybe she wouldn't become sick from the beverage later.
"My Highness!" Zaniell said, fake gasping. "I care of nothing more than your thoughts of me!" He grinned back at her, flashing his white teeth. "And hey," He said, frowning in her direction this time. "I said I was hungry, not that I wanted to get you." He paused, only to smile again.
"Unless that's what you wanted, Princess." Zane raised one eyebrow at her, a mocking grin still playing on his lips. |

Zera laughed at his display. She giggled a bit afterwards and took another sip of the wine. She was beginning to feel dizzy now, but the pain in her feet wasn't gone. She licked her lips after swallowing the drink and looked down at Zaniell.
"So you're hungry for a 'pretty little lady like me'," Zera said, "but you don't want to get me?" She raised a brow in his direction. "And that's completely what I wanted," Zera said, making sure that her tone was joking.
The last thing she needed was this man knowing that she had a slight curiosity for him.

Zane couldn't help but laugh at the Princess' behavior. Her laugh literally brightened her whole face up, and her smile... And when she licked her lips, it was almost too much for Zane. She should drink more often, he thought with a wide grin.
"It's completely understandable that you'd feel that way, Princess," Zaniell teased back, puffing out his chest slightly. "I am deviously handsome." He winked at her then burst out laughing.
"You know, Your Highness," The vampire said, still grinning, "that people often say what they feel when they drink wine." His comment referring to her last. |

Zera giggled when he acted again. He was so animated! She was also much looser due to the fact of being just a bit on the tipsy side. She popped her neck, immediately regretting it. The muscles there were still sore from the way she had slept. She rubbed the skin there tenderly.
When Zaniell completed his last sentence, her cheeks reddened slightly and she tried to thing of something to retaliate with. She just ended up sitting there atop the horse, lost deep in thought for several moments, her cheeks still scarlet. No matter how hard she tried to think of something, she just couldn't. The winewas messing up her train of thought.
Finally, she decided that a semi-smart comment was better than none. "People often say many things, Zaniell." She drawled his name out a bit. About a quarter of the bottle of wine was gone.

Zaniell watched the Princess with curious eyes as she sat upon the horse, lost in thought. And she was blushing, it was almost too cute. And the way she said his name... If Zane's heart had a beat, it would be pulsing way too fast.
"Is your neck sore?" He said, watching as she rubbed it. "I can give you a massage when we stop?" He shrugged his shoulders as if it was the most casual thing ever. Inside of his mind, he was screaming at himself. -No. No. I can't do this. She's a Princess. I'm getting afflicted with my duty. No neck massage. No back rub. No. No. No! ... Well, one neck massage might not hurt anyone. But just one. Maybe.- |

Zera let a grin spread across her face as he offered to give her a neck massage when they stopped. She looked down at him, her eyes struggling a bit to focus on his. "Really? You'd do that for me?" she asked. Her voice had noticeably slowed down. She pointed her index finger at herself, raising a brow. She dropped her hand and leaned back to look at the sky for a moment.
When her eyes returned to Zaniell's, she acquired a serious look. "You're too nice to be a kidnapper, Zane. You need to find a different profession." She finished off the bread and took another sip of the wine. the bread had filled her up, but she wasn't about to put down the wine. No way, Jose.
"I mean, you carry on good conversations, patch up my feet, and even offer to give me a neck massage." She put up a finger for each thing she named off, but in the end, due to her half-drunken state, she ended up with all five fingers of her right hand up, and the thumb of her left hand. She wiggled them in front of her face before looking back down at him.

Zera had to be one of the most comical drinkers that Zane had ever encountered. She couldn't count, she couldn't speak, but she could have fun. She would actually smile, and laugh, and not mind that he kidnapped her. That last one really mattered to the guy.
The girl had finished off the bread, but was still going strong with the wine; didn't she know that was powerful stuff? Apparently not. Then came the counting. Zane couldn't help but burst out laughing as she wiggled her fingers in the air. What in the world was she doing up there?
"Princess," Zane managed to gasp through fits of laughter. "I think we should rest. I fear you're going to fall off that horse in your state!" |

Zera was surprised when Zane started laughing. What was so funny? Her eyes focused on his, and she furrowed her brows in confusion. However, she didn't ask the question that was on the tip of her tongue. She didn't have time to before he managed to spit something out in between his laughing fits.
She cocked her head to the side, and was vaguely aware with the pain that came with the motion. She wouldn't ob
ject to resting here. Heck, the sooner they rested, the sooner she'd get her neck massage. She rolled her shoulders and said, "Alright. If you're that worried for me, we'll stop." Though she didn't understand why he was really worried for her.
She wasn't even drunk yet, she thought. Or perhaps she was, and didn't notice it. Zera took that time to put the cork back into the bottle of wine and place it back into the saddle bag. She yawned and stretched, becoming a bit sleepy. Alcohol would do that to you.

Zane wistfully watched Zera replace the wine bottle back into the saddle bag. Alcohol no longer had an effect on him, but he couldn't complain. Watching others, much like Zera, was fine enough for him. She didn't even know the effects the wine was having on her!
Zane grinned up at the Princess, pulling on Bear's reigns to put him to a stop. "Princess, I'm always worried about you. Haven't you figured that out yet?" He teased her, another crooked grin on his lips. "Can you get down by yourself?" Another teasing comment, this one accompanied by a wholehearted laugh. |

Zera scoffed. "Oh, you tease!" she said, batting her eyelashes prettily at him. She laughed and let her shoulders shake with the noise, placing one hand over her heart and the other over her stomach.
When he asked if she needed help down, she caught the teasing tone to the question, and the laugh. "Actually, I do..." She held her hand out for him to take. She prayed she wouldn't land on her feet. Anything but her feet. Preferably right into Zaniell's arms. Yeah.... That would be good.
She grinned at the thought and didn't mentally scold herself. Heck, she was drunk. Why hold herself back?

Zane rolled his eyes, but with a grin on his face. She was tipsy, to say the least. Her body shook with her laugh; it was contagious and the vampire couldn't help but chuckle with her.
Zera offered her arm out for Zane to take, and he did, reveling in the pleasure of the mysterious tingling. [That sounds so dirty. O.o] He grasped her arm firmly and opened his other arm, as if an invitation for her to jump into them. He had given her the option before, and she wasn't under the influence then. Surely, she'd need his help if she wanted to get down from that horse in one piece.
"Just trust me," Zane said, smiling up at her. "I'll catch you." |

Zera felt the strange sensation spread up her arm and she smiled as it reached her shoulder, stopping there. She was surprised at his audacity to tell her to trust him, but she would. She was drunk enough to trust her own kidnapper now. What had the world come to?
She slowly slid off of the horse's saddle, not wanting to unexpectedly land on Zaniell. She felt herself fall completely off of it, and she bit her lip as she felt the free-falling sensation that always came for that split second between when you fell or jumped off of an ob
ject and when you hit the ground- or when someone caught you.
She prayed that the latter would happen to her.

Zane watched the girl fall from the horse as if it were in slow motion. He could see her hair whipping through the air, her dress flaring at the bottom, the way she bit her lip, her body gracefully dancing though the wind, and if Zaniell hadn't been there, she would have dropped like a rock. Luckily, for Zera, he was.
Zane took a step close to the horse just in time to catch the tipsy Princess. He grinned down at her, a playfulness sparkling in his eyes. "I'd set you down Princess, but your feet are still hurt." Zane paused and grabbed the blanket that was hanging off the side of the horse.
"That, and I don't really want to put you down." He winked at her and gave a quick laugh. But, to spread the blanket out, he had to. Making sure Zera could stand in a soft patch of grass, Zane set the girl down, keeping a hand on her back for support.
The man spread the blanket on the softest, flattest piece of land he could find. He sat down on an edge and patted the spot in front of him. "I do believe I owe you a massage, Princess."

Zera was glad that he had caught her. Not that she had doubted him in the first place, though. The feeling of his muscular arms around her actually made her relax even more. If that was even possible, being drunk and all.
She grinned up at her captor. What could she say? His grin was contagious- she couldn't help it. Her feet were still hurt- and he was still a flirt. Zera grinned even wider at his comment and wink, her cheeks turning a slight pink color. She was so drunk she didn't think she had a reason to blush vividly anymore. At least not until she was sober.
She watched as he sat down on the blanket he had spread out, and a crooked grin crept its way onto her lips. She put her hands on her hips and said, "I believe you do." She limped over to the spot on the blanket in front of him, with her back to him, and pulled her hair back over one shoulder, leaving the majority of her neck revealed.
