Cassie could hear beeeping. She was just noow lying in bed. she wasn't awake, but she could hear beeping and she could smell the cleanness of the place. She couldn't move because everything was hurting but her throat was on fire. The constand beeping was aggravating her, but she could feel someone's hand on hers. Her hand twitched a bit as she began to reawaken.

cassie opened her eyes slowly, looking up at the ceiling, still hearing the beeping noise. She groaned slightly, her throat still burning in pain. She turned her head a bit to see Kasey. Never again would she have thought she'd see his face again. She wanted to jump out of the bed and hug him, but it owuld only hurt her more. Suddenly the pain of everything hit her. She began crying. "K...Kasey....", she frowned.

Kasey frowned with her knowing that she was in pain. He hated to see anyone in pain but her expecially. As Cassie woke up a nurse came in, "Are you alright?" she asked her vioce shy and soft. It was obviously her first day. "I'm pretty sure she's in pain." Kasey said turning to the nurse. "Right...I'll be right back." she said leaving the room to go get some pain medication.

" Where am I kasey...", she stumbled to catch her breath at all. Her throat was on fire and her whole body was tingling with pain. She lay there thinking about what had happened and she turned and looked at Kasey as well. He didn't look good at all. His eyes were dark, his hair a bit scruffy, and his eyes drooping a bit. She closed her eyes. "I did this didn't eye...you could've left you know...to get a shower. Or sleep some", she struggled to talk. The water beside her bed was completely gone. She watched the nurse walk back in.

Cassie looked at Kasey, still tired. She moved her body over a bit and left room for him to get up and lay down with her to sleep. "Sleep...you need it.", she grinned at him, still happy he had stayed with her. She looked at him after the nurse switched her I.V's and she left once more. Cassie hadn't coughed since she woke up. She was glad and that made her smile even more. she wanted Kasey to sleep with her. "Please ?", she begged a bit, her throat cooled down to a mild burn.

Cassie smiled and cuddled up close to him. The nurse came in and almost ruined it by saying something, but Cassie glared her down. The nurse backed out of the room without a peep. She wasn't going to be able to ruin it for Cassie. Cassie hugged and smiled as she slept. She heard footsteps walking around outside but knew that it was doctors and nurses doing their jobs. She wondered what had happened to her but knew the answer and story could wait until Kasey was rested up enough. She finally fell asleep after thinking about everything.

Kasey woke up with a wide yawn. As he opened his eyes his stomach turned. He remembered that he hated hospitals. He looked at the arms that were wrapped around his neck and kept him close to Cassie who was still sleeping. The light from the sun outside filtered in through the smallest cracks of the tightly drawn blinds that covered the windows. He heard the rythmic beeping of the machine that monitored Cassies heart beat. Kasey looked at Cassie's sleeping form. She had her arms around his neck and her body as close to his as possible. Kasey's hands had drifted around Cassie's waist and helped keep them close together. Kasey couldn't help but smile as he looked at Cassies. He leaned in and kissed her lips gently, "Morning." He said his voice not much higher than a whisper.

Cassie awoke from sleep as he did and she yawned as well. She was dizzy and didn't feel good. She kissed him back and smiled. "Mornin", she countered. Her heart monitor was still at a steady pace. She rolled over and fell back to sleep. Cassie could barely keep herself stabilized from all the drugs they were giving her. She hadn't meant to fall asleep but her body was so exhausted. She yawned once more before she was knocked out again.

Cassie dreamt of horses, grazing lightly in the plains stretched out before her. She in a white dress on top of the hill watching the graceful animals graze below her. She smiled and sat down on the hill and pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She looked at the dress and it wasn't any normal dress. it was a wedding dress but she was still the same age. She stood in her dream and walked down the path to the pasture and walked up to the horses. They all greeted her with cheerful neighs and playful whinnies. Cassie patted them and rubbed their big strong necks almost like she would to a small kitten or dog.

Kasey looked over at Cassie who had a small smile on her lips as she slept. He smiled a little and then looked back to his drawing. He flipped the page to a new cleane page and began to draw again.

Cassie awoke a few hours later to the sound of a heart monitor again. She didn't want to hear that. She wanted to hear the pounding of many galloping horses beneath her and the wind flowing through her hair. She wanted to be in that white dress again, andn the sun shining down on her. She awoke to it's calm yet steady beeping and blinked a few times. She yawned, stretched and looked around. Kasey was not to be found, but she didn't worry. "Maybe he went get food", she said aloud to herself. She sat up in her bed, feeling much better than she had before and looked around. Flowers covered the counter in front of her, and shiny balloons over in the corner floated around while the breeze from outside swayed them in the wind. She rubbed her eyes and yawned once more. She got a bit bored so decided to turn on the TV. she flipped through the channels but nothing good was on so she turned it off as it was before. She layed back down and thought about what her dream might have meant.

Cassie smiled as he walked back in. She looked at the food and picked up her fork as well. she was hungry but not as hungry as he could've been. She ate her food a bit slowly, and wondered about the dream she had. She knew it was rather strange but she didn't want to worry Kasey about, so she said nothing of it. She looked down and before she knew it her food was gone. She pushed the tray away and yawned more. She looked over at Kasey.

"I feel tons better", she smiled. She watched him sit back down in the chair and she pulled her hair back into a ponytail after searching her arm for a wristband. She sighed and looked at all the needles in her arms and the beeping noise of the heart monitor. She looked up at the ceiling. she closed her eyes and could smell the hospitals cleanliness.
