Cassie looked up at the school and smiled. She closed the door to her brother's old red Mustang, now that he dudn't need it anymore, she got it. She locked the door and breathed in one good time." It feels good to be back again.", she proclaimed. She stepped out with her boots on, her skinny jeans down stuffed in her boots, her scarf around her brown and black striped abercrombie shirt. She was eager to meet new people, and not so eager to see her ex boyfriend. She sighed and got a bit sad but thought about her new day and smiled again. She walked up the stairs to the office and grabbed her new class schedule and found her locker. she rounded the building and was too busy staring at her classes that she bumped into another person.

"OMG I'm so sorry !", she rubbed her head and looked up to see a tall guy still standing, black hair and a gorgeous face. 

Cassie stood up slowly and blushed a bit, playing with her hair a bit and watched him walk away as she decided to walk around the campus. she was mebarassed due to her incident but decided to be more attentive to what was oging out. Just the she heard it. That voice she'd hoped she wouldn't hear...David. She turned with a disgusted look on her face.

A few minutes later she screamed as loud as she could, scared for her life and hoping someone closeby would hear her and help. "Help someone please!!!", she yelped and cried. Tears streamed down her face and she yelled more. 

Kasey looked down at the girl in his arms when he began to hear her cry into his chest and pull herself closer into his body. He looked back up when they had made it to the office which is where the nurses office was. He opened one of the double glass doors. The people who worked in the office looked at them before returing to their work. All they did all day was stare into computer screens and type really fast. He turned a corner and whent into the nurses office. He had been in here many times before and the nurses didn't seem to mind at all. She was way nicer that the rest of the facultie. Kasey set Cassie down on one of the beds in the room before he went to the door leading to the nurses break room where she ate lunch and..well...toook her break. He knocked on the solid metal door wincing when he realized he used his bruised hand. After a moment an old lady with white hair waring white jeans, shoes, T-shirt, and round metal rimed glasses, "Ooo." she winced as she walked over to the counter getting some cotton balls and doused them with some anti-infectant and handed it to Kasey," Lets see what else we have here." she walked over to Cassie, "Can you tell me what hurts sweety?" she asks sitting down on the bed parrallel to the one Cassie is one. Kasey used the cotton balls to wipe the blood from his mouth and noes before tossing them into the trsh can and sitting down in one of the chairs that was lined up next to the dooor.

"Ok. I'll get you an ice pack. You should proabably stay here  till you start feeling better. Or do you want we to call your parents to come pick you up?" She patted the girl softly on the shoulder as she stood up to go get an ice pack from the freezer and came back handing it to her softly as she waited for her responce.

Kasey gave Cassie a sympathetic smile as he absentmindedly pressed on the bruises on his hands. He didn't wince when the pain from the bruises came though because it didn't hurt much anymore. He couldn't imagine how much pain she was in. He got beat up pretty good but he was pretty sure she got most of the damage. He couldn't help but wonder why David would be beating her up but he could wait to ask her when she wasn't in as much pain.

She turned to him and looked at his knuckles. "I'm sorry...it's my fault your hurt.", she frowned. She thought back to David, then the fight, then...Kasey. she turned and studied his figure, his hair, his eyes, and his bruises. She winced at the thought of his bruises and how much they must hurt. She touched his hand a bit. "Here...let me see it and i'l show you something. I've never shown this to anyone else.", she smiled. She took his hand in hers and she closed her eyes. a Light blueish light began to glow under both of their hands. She held his hand for a few good seconds then let it go. " I can heal any injury, but when I heal injuries, it becomes my injury. See ?", she showed him the bruise on her knuckles in which used to be his. She smiled at him and looked in his eyes. "It's the least I can do. I can take away your pain.", she grinned.

Cassie smiled. " i don't mind...I wanna make sure you're ok.", she blushed. She looked at her hand as the bruises' pain began to subside. She looked in his eyes and blushed more. "You made me feel safe back there...in the hallway.", she grinned a bit. She made sure he knew about her powers. she wanted to keep him safe and otu of harms way. "Why do I feel so protective of him?", she thought to herself. She watched as he made a small flame on his finger. She gasped and smiled widely. She watched him put it out.

"Don't worry about me...I'm fine. If I can take away your pain...I will.", she blushed more and giggled a bit.

"I'm fine." He insisted. He watched as she smiled at his tiny flame, ":It's really useful in the winter." He said jokingly, Though it was true. Sometimes it was useful like when he was skying one day he got really cold...but not the point. "No you don't need to take away the pain. I'm good." He kept wondering why David would beat her up though. He had to ask, "So why was David...you know." He didn't want to say it for fear that it might her cry again.

She looked at his hand then her's and felt a spark. She let go of his hand abrutply and blushed. She turned back at the remark of David's name. she looked at him. "We used to be together...but ever since last year. Things had changed. He became a jock. He was arrogant and had no respect for me or my feelings. He would go out and party with all his friends, who were my friends as well but He never used to be like that. He used to be sweet and nice but when he joined the football team, he changed. He used to try to get me to have sex with him but I refused. I told him I was saving myself for someone special. He didn't care though...he proceeded to rape me. I was so glad my best friend was there. He stopped David and made David walk home. Andrew drove me home that night. Ever since then David has tried to rape me...any chance he got.", she held back tears she was fighting and looked at Kasey. " That's why I'm glad you're here...and you were there back then.", she smiled.

Kasey's cheeks turned a bright red as she put her head on his chest. His heart began to beat a faster as a wierd sensation started in his stomach. After a moment his heart rate whent back to normal. He held onto her hand. He picked her up careful not to wake her up and lyed her down on the bed her head on the pillow and placed one of the blancket on top of her. He st down on the other bed his back up against the wall his legs extened in front of him. He still held onto her hand her hand though. Soon he started o drift off too.
