They rounded a few more corners, Sword Master and Bow Wielder expertly checking each, before they first started to hear the chanting. It was low and ominous, plus it didn't seem to be in any earthen language. Bow Wielder hurriedly loaded his bow and Sword Master took out a glowing greenstone kopesh. (those egypatian swords)

They reached a T-intersection and the noise seemed to be coming from the right, although now the sound of screaming was added to the chanting. Sword Master checked the map of the catacombs on his watch (yay for tech-hacks watches!) and sighed. He checked the left corner then quickly ducked back again as a guard walked past. he checked again to find the guard had gone. "Quickly." He whispered and went around the corner. "How come there are so many thugs patrolling the catacombs, surely someone would notice." Bow Wielder commented. "A company known as Acurso Corporations bought a huge section of the catacombs for 'restoration' despite the fact the company is almost entirely devoted to energy, not construction." Sword Master grumbled. "Well, these are certainly the strangest looking builders I've seen."

Sword Master checked the next T-intersection, nervous that the guard might come through here again, but there were no thugs. Sword Master turned left, heading towards the noise. Up ahead there was a tunnel that diverted off the tunnel they were taking and it was evident the noise was coming from there. There was also a bright orange light coming from the tunnel.

Sword Master moved to the far wall and quickly dashed past the tunnel to avoid being detected. Bow Wielder, extremely curious, couldn't help but crouch down and look down the tunnel. The tunnel was actually a massive room which, sadistically, was carved to look like the inside of a skull. There were several armed thugs standing on the walls, watching out for trouble. In the center of the room several dozen men and women in long, tattered cloaks were kneeling, chanting to evil gods. There was another man in a cloak wearing a silver mask who was walking around a stone table, reciting an unholy speech from a large blood-stained book. On the Stone table was a burning skeleton-however, the skeleton was not dead. The skeleton struggled against the chains that bound it, screaming in pain. Bow Wielder pulled back and gagged, struggling not to be sick.

One of the thugs noticed movement out the entrance. He gestured for one of the other thugs to follow and they went to investigate.

The thugs saw a shape move past in the tunnel and looked at each other. They raised their shotguns and headed out the door. As the Thugs exited the skull-shaped room they turned left-the direction the shape had moved. They noticed there was something sticking up out of the ground a few meters ahead. As they approached it they realized it was a bizzare arrow. One of the thugs-a brutish man in a hoodie-bent down to pick up the arrow. When he grabbed it it released a puff of foul-smelling smoke, which rendered the man unconscious almost immediately. The other thug, a fairly ordinary man who had once sold drugs in venice, backed away from the arrow, waving his gun around like something was going to pounce on him. The second arrow was shot, hitting him in the chest and releasing the same gas.Bow Wielder quickly recovered his arrows before heading back after the others.
