"Barely any of us fully understand that history reference." Ebony said.
With a slight fizzle a tall white figure in a gas mask materialized with a short haired female in tow. On closer inspection the girl's hands were cuffed behind her back and she had a profusely bleeding nose and a rapidly swelling eye. The masked man's white fedora was slightly askew and there was a light splatter of blood on his suit jacket.
"Hello friends and potential friends." The man said. "I was about to go out for dinner with my wife and I got the 'I need a lift' signal through time and space from this young lady here. I decided I'd be nice so I went to see what the sender wanted to find a stranger. I asked who she was and what she wanted, and she tried to stab me. Subduing ensued and she's been silent ever since." He dabbed at a blood spot on his suit. "Care to explain, Scarlock?"

"Okay, two more is too many, guns coming back out again." The Gas Man yelled, pulling out a third gun from inside his jacket. Bow Wielder, Sword Master and Black Sword all simultaneously yelled; "No!". Sword Master snatched the gun away from him, unloaded the large revolver and tossed it into the bushes. "Okay, fair enough." The Gas Man replied, raising his hands in mock defeat.

Ebony bounded over to the newcomers and pulled both of them into a hug. "Alex, Esmond, you're on the same side at the moment, chill." She then took a step back and addressed the female. "What's the matter?"
"You've been grinning again." Alex replied with a frown.
"And you've been to Pavoros land and back." Ebony said with a shrug. "Where's Nycabar?"
Alex nodded to her right pocket. "He's been in and out of consciousness ever since we got back from limbo. Pulling us through the void was too much of a strain." She snapped her head around and addressed Sword Master. "Does it go snicker-snack?"

"No stabbing." Esmond said, removing Alex's hand cuffs.
Alex produced a limp white mouse from her pocket. "He can't even manage to hold his essence together properly." she said, motioning to his tail, which had the appearance of a wisp of grey smoke.
Ebony gently picked up the mouse. "He should just be low on power." She trotted over to Sword Master and held out the rodent. "I'll trade you a mouse for those wounds." She said, motioning to the injuries the flying concrete had given him.
