The first day of summer vacation, was always one of the most memorable ones. You were done with school, waking up early, and extra unneccessary homework. It was about midnight, but Nikki didn't care. Her and her friends were partying it up for what its worth.
"Hey Nikki? Shouldn't you be home by now, your parents are going to freak."
Nikki's parents were very strict. So strict that it completely ruined any relationship between them.
"They won't mind me out for a couple more hours."
Nikki said with a smile as the music blared louder.

I was never the type to party. Or be with friends for that matter. At school, I was known as the one that stayed to himself. I was friendly when people came by me, but it did nothing but make myself feel better for reminding myself I wasn't a monster.
I stared through my apartment window at a party happening next door. I used to be invited to those types of things. I used to be the jock. Best on the team. Best with the girls.
Best with anything.
That all changed after I changed my life. Being a dog wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Deomi tossed her long blonde hair over her shoulder and took another drink from her cup. Best party of the year? She sighed, not even close. She looked over at Nikki, "hey, if your parents like, kick you out, you can always stay at my place." Her parents were the exact opposite of Nikki's, she basically grew up on her own. She doubted her parents even knew she existed, and she knew for a fact that they would have no clue if she had a friend over, her mom was always too drunk to do anything and her dad was never home.

Liam walked into the party as if it was his place, not that anybody would notice. He didn't go to school with these kids, he hadn't been to a school in over two years, but he was okay with that. For those two years, he lived basically on his own, and now he even had his own apartment. Sure, it wasnt much, but it was enough to get by. He looked from person to person, some of these kids had just graduated, others still had a year left, and once again, he found himself wondering what his life would have been like if he had never changed, if he was still a human.

Nikki looked over at Deomi and did a small laugh.
"My parents are just really strict. I never break the rules, so I don't think they will kick me out for this one time. But, I'll keep your suggestion in mind."
She did a wink to show that she was kidding, and noticed a guy come in. She smirked while biting her lip and did a nod at Deomi and then a nod at the guy, and asked,
"Who's that? Never seen him around..."

Rolling her eyes, Nikki said,
"Let's go say hi. Introduce me or something..."
She said, already grabbing Deomi's hand to get her up. She tended to be shy, so she wasn't the best at meeting knew people.
"And, then, I will go home. Even if my parents kill me. Promise."

Deomi laughed then started to walk through the crowd toward the boy, who was leaning casually against the wall, talking to a skinny blonde in a tight miniskirt and a practically see-through shirt. She rolled her eyes at the girl, and she smiled when she saw the boy looked over in her direction and turn away from the girl.

"Hey there, my name's Deomi, I was just wondering, who are you here with?" she asked, seeing if he was here with friends or a girl.

"Myself." Came Liam's response, "why?"

"Because I've never seen you before, and a face like yours is easy to remember." she cooed with a wink.

Liam laughed, "well, thanks, but I'm not from around here." Liar. He thought to himself, "the names Liam." he looked over at Nikki, "who's your friend?"

Nikki's face flushed as Liam looked at her. She wished she could be better with conversation like Deomi, but it never worked out.
"Nikki."
Nikki said with a smile, turning crimson as she talked.

"Nice to meet you Nikki." Liam said with a friendly smile. He fought the urge to laugh as she blushed, "So is this what you high schoolers do for fun?" he teased lightly.

"Arent you in school?" Deomi asked.

Liam shook his head, "graduated." he lied smootly, "I just got an apartment here." Stop talking you idiot. He thought. You don't really want them thinking they are your friends and coming around all the time do you? He contemplated it for a moment, then he ended up staring directly into Nikki's eyes, yes. Yes I do.

Just the stare from Liam forced her to stop breathing.
"Nice...Nice to meet you too."
She said. When he explained how he graduated, it crushed Nikki's spirits. She had one more year left of school. Nikki was the joke to him now.
"Maybe I should go now..."
She whispered to Deomi. "I guess I'll see you later?"

"Yeah of course." Deomi said with a smile, "See you later." She turned and sauntered away, heading back to her little circle of friends and glanced back at Liam for a moment longer.

"Want me to give you a ride home?" Liam offered.((GAHHH fail XD))

At first, Nikki didn't realize that Liam was talking to her. Was a guy like that, offering a guy like her a ride home?
It was a dream. No where near reality.
"I...Sure." She said, with a smile.

Liam smiled, "alright then, lets go." he said smoothly, walking out into the night. His car, a dark silver 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse,(**drools**) was parked a little ways down the block, as he walked past the neighboring building, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys, hitting the unlock button and watching the car light up.
