Adderstrike padded into camp, "for what? Slipping? Just stay awaay from the river when you are alone." he growled, padding over to a large, sun-soaked, flat rock and laying down, licking the water from his fur.

Dreamsplash awoke with a delighted purr. Tigerstar was pleased, and he had told her about another cat in the clan who was under his teachings. She was to help him become leader, and control the whole forest.((this is so unlike the usual Dreamsplash!!! XD))

Snakepaw said quietly to him, "There was something shiny on the bottom of the stream. I wanted to se what it w-w-was." He shivered again, and then walked away from his mentor. A few cats gave him a startled look, and he could almost imagine he looked like a half-drowned rat.

He stopped half-way to the medicine's cat den. He had almost forgotten that Dreamsplash ran it now. He hovered outside the entrance, a little uneasy, before he padded inside.

Dreamsplash purred when Snakepaw entered her den, "just the apprentice I wished to see." she meowed devoisly, she looked him over once, and gathered a small bundle of herbs that would help warm him up, "now lick your fur dry." she instructed, "I have a job for you, I want you to....." she trailed of as Wishpaw padded into her den.

"Snakepaw!" Wishpaw gasped, "are you okay? I watched you walk into camp, what happened?" concern laced her voice and her eyes seemed scared.

Dreamsplash smiled at Wishpaw, but her smile was bitter-sweet. She alshed her tail and padded to the other end of her den, "once your fur is dry, eat those." she hissed.

Wishpaw shook her head, "what would posess you to go after a shiny ob
ject in the water?" she wondered, "toms. They will never make any sense." she teased.

"What if it had been a twoleg trap? it could have killed you." Wishpaw squeaked, the thought made her shudder.

Once Adderstrike was dry and warm, he padded to the Elder's den, and over to Limefeather, "are you happy now? I almost drowned saving Snakepaw. He wouldnt have taken off if you had talked to him." he hissed.

Limefeather looked up at him with a flat, emotionless ex
pression. "He would have ran off anyways. Tigerstar has been mentoring him for quite a while." Her eyes grew cold and icy. "I don't care if you almost drowned; it's the same as if you almost drowned saving another apprentice. I could care less about Snakepaw. And you, for that matter." She turned her face away from him.

Snakepaw pressed his nose in her fur. "I-I'm f-f-fine," he muttered, pulling away to look at her. "D-don't worry about it."

Adderstrike rolled his eyes, "why are you being so stubborn about this? Why wont you just become a warrior. If would sure teach Dreamsplash a lesson." he said, flexing his claws.

Wishpaw sighed, "well still you are lucky!" she gave his ear a quick lick, "I don't want to lose a friend." she meowed.

"I don't want to be a warrior," Limefeather mumbled. She refused to comment further.

Snakepaw nodded, eyes flickering. "I'm tired," he mumbled, blinking warmly at her. He got on his feet shakily, not bothering to look at Dreamsplash. But he could sense that she had something to say to him. "Let's go lay in the shade somewhere."

Adderstike sat down, "and why not?" he asked.

Windpaw nodded in agreement, "okay." she purred warmly, padding out of the den.

Dreamsplash watched Snakepaw, "come talk to me at Midnight, or I will come to the apprentice's den and drag you out by your tail." she hissed to him.

"Because I don't," Limefeather muttered.

Snakepaw nodded his head at Dreamsplash reluctantly, eyes meeting hers for a moment in a flurry of confused emotions, and then followed after Wishpaw. "Where do you wanna lay?" he asked.

Adderstike twitched his whiskers, "well thats no reason at all." he muttered.

Wishpaw stretched her muscles, "anywhere comfortable." she purred.

"So? I don't need a reason. I just don't." Limefeather added after a dew seconds, "I don't see why you even care, after the way I've treated you."

Snakepaw nodded, and tried to stretch himself out; he was tight and sore. "How about next to the elder's den? There's some shade there, and some gras s too."

Adderstrike, "your my friend. Of course I care." he said simply.

Wishpaw purred, "sure." she lay down in the soft gras.s.

Snakepaw stretched out beside her, pressed himself against her for the warmth. He sneezed, and then shook his head.

Limefeather only snorted. "Yeah. Okay. Whatever." Her tail tip flicked.
