{ Not Limefeather or Snakepaw... but how about POPPYPAW? I'm rather appealed to the idea that she falls in love with Birdfall <3 , and she hasn't done much in this RP yet anyways. }

Poppypaw, who hovered over Birdfall uncertainly, finally prodded him gently with a paw. "Birdfall?" she said nervously. "I was wondering if you wanted to go hunting or something..."

Lionpaw shuddered, and frowned. "I would be terrified if something like that happened to one of my siblings," she said, thinking mainly of Hawk, the runt of the litter who she missed sorely. "Although, I don't think I would've dragged it on."

~

He slipped out of the hole in the barrier outside the elders den, small body weaving through the trees with incredible speed. His paws hit the ground with muted thuds, and the forest smelled crisp and bright all around him. He wanted to run off his pain and worried. With a bounding leap, Snakepaw cleared a small stream, where his mother and Adderstrike were hunting much further down, and continued running.

Oakfeather grunted, looking down at it. "Still attached to my body, I'd reckon," he said with a small chuckle. "How's your paw?" he asked Feralwind sarcastically.

Sablepaw squirmed away, and wiggled into the apprentice's den, where Wishpaw was curled up. She settled her blind eyes on her. "Wishpaw? you okay?" she mewed, sitting down on the ground in front of the entrance. She added as an afterthought, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to..."

Limefeather lunged without warning, teeth closing around a squirrel's throat with a sickening crunch. She stood back up again, flicking her ears as she heard something farther down the river. Rogue, she thought to herself pas sively.

Birdfall opened one eye, "what about your mentory?" he asked.

Windpaw shrugged, "well Cougarfeather did. And most of us just let her be." he smirked, "but she is a great deputy."

Feralwind laughed, "the same." he said with a smile.

Wishpaw sighed, "I don't really want to talk aobut it." she muttered.

Adderstrike slipped away from Limefeather slowly and silently, he grabbed his Sparrow and his nerly caught rabbit and padded into camp, setting the rabbit on the freshkill pile, then taking the sparrow to his small secluded space in camp where he used to share meals with Finchtail. When he got there, the ground was littered with feathers. A birds tail feathers. He sniffed the feathers, they were from a finch. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as a wave of pain overcame him. He opened his eyes again and realised the feathers were a trail, he began to follow them, and soon, could smell the familiar scent of Finchtail. He felt a lump form in his throat. Then he heard a kind, but strong voice.

"Adderstrike?" Finchtail blinked her eyes, "you found me." her green eyes glowed, "Its been so long, I thought you had forgotten me. I thought you would never find the trail, or not care enough to follow."

Adderstrike looked at her, awestruck. There she was, his first love, right in front of him. Yet, somehow, it was unbelievable.

Oakfeather chuckled, slipping into the elder's den, "That's good to hear,"

Sablepaw nodded, saying, "I understand," and slid into what would normally be Snakepaw's nest. She somehow sensed that he wouldn't have been welcome there.

Poppypaw smiled down at him, glad to see him awake. "I have his permission; I asked Wolfstar himself." She purred, waiting for him to get up.

~

Lionpaw nodded, "She'll be a good leader some day; I just hope not a day soon. I'd hate to see Wolfstar disappear..." She frowned.

~

Limefeather turned around, confused. "Where'd he go..." she mumbled to herself, abandoning her kill as she started to follow his scent carefully. She followed it back to where he had seen the feathers, which confused her as well for a moment, until she followed them as a trail. Poking her head out, she saw Finchtail and Adderstrike, but said nothing.

She retreated, dashing back to her spot in the elder's den with a heavy heart and broken trust.

Snakepaw, angry, stopped at the river he had nearly drowned in, swiping a paw at the surface angrily. His claws snagged on something, and he flung it a little ways down the bank. He went to investigate, curious to see what exactly the silver band was.

He poked his paw through it, and it contracted to fit snugly around his leg. He sniffed it thoroughly, but smelling no two-leg scent, shrugged and kept wandering the forest. It wasn't hurting him, so he didn't care.

Wolfstar was skulking in his den, mulling over everything that had happened recently. 

Birdfall twitched his ears, "somehow, I find that hard to believe." he said, standing up with a yawn and stretching his stiff muscles.

Windpaw nodded, "Wolfstar is a great leader, and Star Clan willing, he will stay our leader for many more moons."

Adderstrike bristled his fur, "what are you doing here?" he demanded, "and where is Eagletalon?"

Finchtail blinked in suprise, "well hello to you too. I'm a Strike Clan member, I'm welcome here." she said, green eyes glimmering, "and lets not talk about Eagletalon."

Adderstrike tilted his head, "are you here to stay?" he asked, "but, everyone thinks you are dead, they think that the Twolegs took you away and that you are never coming back."

"well, I'm here arent I?" she said, "I esacped." she purred, padding over to him and rubbung her face against his cheek, she suddenly bounded forward with a jubilant yowl, ((lets asay wolfstar wasnt leader yet when she disappeared, what was his warrior name??)) "Moonpaw! Cougarfeather! Feralwind! Oakfeather! Longwhisker(imaginary former Medicine cat)! Wolfheart! Dreamkit! Russetstar! I'm finally home!" she called as she ran into camp, a bewildered Adderstrike trailing after her.

Poppypaw frowned at him. "Are you calling me a liar?" she teased, pushing her way out of the warrior's den.

Lionpaw nodded, sweeping her tail around her paws, which kicked up a small amount of dust. "Who do you think Cougarfeather would pick as deputy?" she asked, wondering faintly. She believed that the older she-cat would choose Oakfeather, who she seemed to be close to, but she didn't say anything.

wolfstar padded out of his den, silver fur gleaming. He let his icy blue eyes settle on Finchtail, cold gaze sweeping over her. "My name is no longer Wolfheart," he said, ears flicking gently. "I'm now Wolfstar, leader of this clan. What brings you here, Finchtail?"

Finchtail dipped her head respectfully, "Congratulations Wolfstar. Its a shame that Russetstar had to join the ranks of Star Clan though." SHe blinked, "I am here because I was able to escape the twolegs." she knew her fur smelled of twoleg rubbish, she had been living in their camp for a while, going from den to den in search of food, "finally." she smiled and purred.

Feralwind looked at Finchtail in shock, most of the Clan had been told she was taken by Twoleg, he, Adderstrike, and now Limefeather were the only ones who knew the truth.

Windpaw flexed his muscles, "Definately me!" he said with a laugh, "well, she wouldnt pick Oakfeather, I know that much. Because they are too close, many cats would be angered. She would pick a friend no doubt, but not Moonsong or Oakfeahter"

Birdfall chuckled and slipped out of the warriors den, ignoring the commotion and the crowd that had gathered around Finchtail.

Poppypaw let her eyes flicker in that direction, confused. "Who is that?" she asked Birdfall as they padded in the opposite direction. "I've never met her before." It was true; Finchtail had left before she and her brother were born.

Lionpaw nodded, thinking for a moment. "I think Feralwind, Birdfall or Adderstrike would make a good deputy. But Birdfall's younger than them, so it isn't likely he'd be picked, would it?"

~

Wolfstar, flicking his ears, studied her over carefully. She looked awfully thin and underfed compared to the average kittypet, and surely she hadn't been stupid enough to starve herself? He only nodded, "You will see there is still a place for you in the warrior's den."

Turning back around, he padded back to his den, not bothering to grab anything to eat on the way. He couldn't eat; he couldn't manage to swallow anything. He was too grumpy, upset and flustered.

Limefeather slid out of her temporary den, sitting down next to Feralwind. "So she's back," she said to him quietly, unable to hide the venom in her tone. After everything...Adderstrike was still picking that two-faced pesky she-cat over her.

She didn't say anything else, her green eyes burning as she stared maliciously at Finchtail and Adderstrike. Of course, she should have expected this. Of course she should have...

Birdfall glanced and twitched his ears in momentary shock, "Thats Finchtail. She must have gotten away from the twolegs." he continued to look at his sister with a suprised ex
pression, but continued to walk out of camp. Finchtail may have been his sister, but they never got along.

Windpaw thought fro a moment, "Well, Birdfall is too cocky in my opiio, Feralwind is a bit of a prankster, but I think he could do it. And I dont think Adderstrike would even want to. But it wont be a while untill Cougarfeatehr becomes leader, who knows, she could even choose Wishpaw or Sablepaw." he purred.

Moonsong slipped past all of the other warriors silently and into Wolfstar's den, "Wolfstar?" she called quietly, tilting her head, "are you okay?" she asked.

Finchtail smiled brightly at Adderstrike, "It will be just like old times again." she purred. Rubbing her head on his chin.

"yeah, I guess." he said, still in a state of shock that she was here. He glaced over at Limefeather guiltily, but his ex
pression read, If you had a second chance with Chesnutclaw, wouldnt you take it over me?

Feralwind shrugged, "untill the next Clan gathering where she will meet a new tom, yep, shes here." He said.

Limefeather's cold, hurt eyes meeting Adderstrikes. No, her ex
pression read as she stood up. Because I learned my lesson the first time. She muttered to Feralwind, "Let's take this conversation somewhere more private. I can't..." she sucked in a deep breath. "I can't watch this."

She padded past him, and into the elder's den, where he hoped Feralwind would follow.

"Or you," Lionpaw said with a purr, smiling. She would never become deputy; Cougarfeather's dislike for her was plainly obvious.

Poppypaw only nodded, lapsing into silence, which was unusual for her. Usually she was chattering away non-stop. Being around Birdfall was nice, and the silence was something that made it more peaceful and less awkward for both of them.

Wolfstar lifted his head heavily, looking at her. "No, not really," he said glumly. 

~

Oakfeather sat down next to Cougarfeather, paw aching badly. "Finchtail," he said cheerfully, he bright mood false, but believable, "I thought you'd never come back." he gave Adderstrike a stern, unhappy look, but the smile returned. He said with a fake purr, "Seems you two have picked up where it left off." 

Feralwind looked at his brotehr, then shook his head and got up, padding after Limefeather siltenly.

Windpaw, "I dont know, I'm walking on eggshells with cougarfeatehr right now. She looking for a reason to hate me. And she will take one as simple as I choose a mate she dislikes." he said with a shrug.

Birdfall flicked his tail, "so, your an apprentice now, have you been hunting at all yet?" he asked.

Moonsong lay down next to him, "care to talk about it?" she asked.

Adderstrike shrugged, and Finchtail purred, "Of course! Since i was taken, not a day has gone by that I havent missed him." she said.

Wishpaw lay in the apprentices den, unable to sleep. She rose to her feet wtih a sigh. She shook out her fur and blinked to get her eyes used to the dim lighting. 

Lionpaw could feel her blood turn to ice in her veins. "she'd...hate you?" she said slowly, staring at her paws. Guilt prickled her fur. "Well, that wouldn't be very nice...It's not really up to her..."

Sablepaw looked at Wishpaw. "So you're awake," she said quietly. "I've been listening to the commotion from here; my ears can pick it up." she paused, "Finchtail is back..."

~

Limefeather hissed, slashing at her nest with unsheathed claws to shake her frustration with him and finchtail. "Your brother," she said quietly to Feralwind as he stepped in. "Is the stupisdest, most simple-minded cat to-"

She cut herself off with an apologetic look at him. "Sorry, I shouldn't speak poorly of him around you. He is your brother." She stood back up and started to pace, tail tip twitching rapidly.

Oakfeather only said, "Oh. Well, i hope he felt the same way then," With another angry look at Adderstrike. He rose to his paws. "I have to go get this paw checked out again by Dreamsplash; it hurts." 

Saying a hasty goodbye to Cougarfeather, he limped across the camp to Dreamsplash's den and waited outside.

"I feel like I'm being shut out," he said gloomily. "Cougarfeather won't tell me anything, I think Finchtail is lying, something is up with the apprentices, and Limefeather is definately hiding something..." He paused, frowning, "But I'm left in the dark; the last to know. In fact, I'm pretty sure no one ever plans to tell me."

He added on as an afterthoguht, "And Windpaw certainly wasn't in a pleasant mood when I spoke to him. He looked as though he was going to swipe at me. Certainly spoke to me as if he was going to."

He sighed, tail tip flicking gently. "I think I'm loosing my touch. I think...maybe I'm not a good leader anymore."

Poppypaw frowned. "Once," she said. "With my brother and Wolfstar; but my mentor has been too busy lately, I guess, so he keeps shoving me off on other cats." She paused for a minute. "Do you think he just doesn't want me as an apprentice anymore?"

~

Snakepaw curled up in a short spruce tree, purring gently as the light breeze tickled his black fur, which was hot to the touch from the bright sunlight.

Windpaw shrugged, "She would get over it, I'm too good of friends with Oakfeather for her to hate me for vary long." he pointed out.

Wishpaw tilted her head, "Finchtail? I was just a kit when she disappeared." She said, "I thought she would be dead by now."

Feralwind chucked, "no go ahead, go on. He is a mousbrained fool! He knows exactly what she did to him last time, and it's likely that it will happen again. He's setting himself up for it." he thought for a moment, "and you have to change his mind, when he was hanging out wiht you, he was happier than I had seen him in moons, you have to make him realise that she will just hurt him agian, he wont listen to me." Feralwind shook his head.

Moonsong blinked, "no, your a great leader! Cougarfeather wont tell you anything because maybe she doesnt want to be judged. Did you think of it that way? She's always careda lot about what the Clan thinks, and wont tell you personal things until she is absolutely sure. She's always been that way, and as for the apprentices, Poppypaw and Lionpaw got in a fight, and Windpaw was dragged in, he's really kind of upset about it, so is Lionpaw.  And Limefeather is probably just hiding in general." she said.

Birdfall shrugged, "He is kind of busy lately, look at everything that is happening, Limefeather isnt Medicine Cat anymore, we have a fox problem, and I'm pretty sure RushClan and LakeClan are just waiting to attack us, they usually are." he said, "but if he doesnt want to be your mentor, I would train you."

Poppypaw's fur prickled happily at his last sentence, and she flushed under her fur. "That'd be great..." she paused, and said, "But wouldn't that make me your first apprentice, wouldn't it?" she perked up her ears.

"What about Snakepaw and Dreamsplash? You've noticed something there, haven't you?" He paused, frowning, "They've snuck out a few times to be alone. They're together much more often now. I'm worried their plotting something."

Limefeather, who had been nodding in agreement, stopped. "No," she hissed, eyes wide. "No! No! No! I'm not talking to him!" she bristled, claws sinking into moss. "That...That piece of foxdung dropped me like crowfood as soon as Finchtail walked in without a second thought." She closed her eyes, sighing, and struggled to calm herself down. "He can deal with this himself. He's so willing to give her a second chance, he can take the pain again I guess." She frowned.

"And I won't be there to mend the pieces of his heart again."

Sablepaw shrugged, curling up again with her headache. "Tell me if anything interesting happens, please." She yawned, blinking a few times. "Thank you."

Lionpaw cocked her head to one side. "What does Oakfeather have to do with Cougarfeather?" she asked, slightly confused. 

Birdfall nodded, "yes it would." he said.

Moonsong shrugged, "I Overheard them arguing before, Snakepaw has a little crush on Dreamsplash that she doesnt return, and hes always following her around and perstering her."

Feralwind shook his head, "but you are the only one he will listen to. He may become the friendly Adderstrike again, but he will still be stubborn."

Wishpaw twitched her wiskers, "will do Sablepaw." she purred.

Finchtail flicked her ears, so her homecoming wasnt at welcoming as she thought it would be. At least she was here right? And now she wouldnt starve. Here, the cat gans werent hoggin all the food. Not like in the twoleg camp. And this way she  wouldnt have to join a gang to stay alive, like Eagletalon...or should she say, Talon had. Once he had joined a gang, they changed his mane, sayint that Eagletalon was too long, and too forresty. They wanted to change her name to just Finch. And that was why she left, she didnt want to change her name, it was the only thing she had left of fer past. Her kits, Sone, Cloud, and Cobra had all joined the gangs and didnt know anything about the clans, and now Talon had left behind the Warrior ways. So Finchtail left and went back to StrikeClan.

"Hrm..." Wolfstar mumbled. "You'd think he'd learn from his mothers mistakes..." Pausing, he added, "And I thought he had a thing for little Wishpaw."

Limefeather shook her head, looking at Feralwind with a destroyed ex
pression. "Why do I owe him kindness? Why should I try and help him,  when he has done nothing but hurt me?" Her voice broke, and she started pacing again. "And Finchtail...lying to wolfstar! I'm disappointed..."

Sablepaw nodded, slipping into a light sleep.

~

Poppypaw nodded, dropping the conversation as she spotted a mouse. She crouched, drawing herself forwards slowly, until she was close enough to lunge. She sprang, teeth closing around it's body. Her jaws bit down, crushing the life out of it. It kicked once, then grew still.

She straightened, looking pleased with herself.

Oakfeather pushed his way into Dreamsplash's den adn sat down, looking around for her. "Hello?" he called, frowning. "Well, that's weird. she doesn't seem to be here..." 

Dreamsplash padded out of a dark corner of her den, seeming to appear out of nowhere, "Didnt I tell you to rest that paw?" she mused.

Birdfall purred, "nice job." he praised, "not bad for an amature." he teased.

Feralwind shrugged, "you don't owe it to him, its just the right thing to do. And her lying doesnt suprise me at all." he said with a yawn, "do you think Wolfstar would let her back if he knew the truth?" he asked.

Moonsong shrugged, "who knows. I think hes just usin Wishpaw. She deserves better." she said, shaking her head.

___

wishpaw slipped over to the small group of cats surrounding Finchtail and chattering exitedly. Rushfoot(random) and Finchtail were chattering about Rushfoots youngest kit, who was now a warrior, Hawkwing, who stood by them looking embarrased. Adderstrike was alying in the sun, not accustomed to all the attention, and wanting to leave, but not being willing to leave Finchtail's side.

"Yeah," Oakfeather said glumly. "sorry about that. I got bored." He looked at her, frowning. "so, what do you think of Finchtail coming back? I see no good in it...none at all..." He scowled as he stretched his paw out for her to examine.

Poppypaw snorted, while burying it, and said, "Yeah? Wanna show me how a real cat does it, then?" She winked, tail tip flicking.

~

"Yes," Limefeather said rather matter-of-factly. "He let me stay in the Clan even though..." he paused, shaking out her fur. "What she did isn't much worse. He's a forgiving cat, that one. Bless his soul."

"But Adderstrike..." she hissed, eyes narrowing to slits. "Why do I have a feeling your brother never learns his lesson?" She frowned. "Well, I hope you don't turn out like him, Feralwind. you're a good cat indeed."

Wolfstar bobbed his head, flicking one ear. "Curious, though," he said. "How he so tiny, so premature, but he knows things cats my age wouldn't..." He glanced sideways at her, thinking. "What would he use Wishpaw for, though? There's not much around here he could want at his age."

Lionpaw sighed, standing up, "Let's get back to camp before we're missed." She added on teasingly, "Wouldn't want Cougarfeather to badger you." 

Dreamsplash prodded his paw in several places to makesure he hadent done any further damage to it, "well. Her being here cant make this clan any wierder." she said with a shrug.

Birdfall shrugged, "okay." he said. Padding over to a bush where some birds were chattering, he crouched, and sprung, landing on top of a large dove, "and that my dear." he said, picking up the bird and turning to her, "is how a bird falls." he said.

Ferlawind chuckled, "thanks. I think. I dont think he will learn, love is an odd thing ya know?" he said, "when your in love, its like there is nothing that can really hurt you, because as long as your together, it will be okay in the end."

Moonsong shrugged, "a scapegoat. He could be getting into trouble, and Wishpaw will vouch for him, and maybe even lie for him. Shes that kind of cat. She will do anything for a friend. Which has got WIndpaw and Snakepaw at a disagreement. The first night Snakepaw was an apprentice, they got in a fight because Snakepaw was ungrateful after Wishpaw gave up her nest for him. He treated her like dirt and just let her sleep on the ground. And Windpaw didnt like it." she shook her head, "Snakepaw gets himself into all kinda of trouble doesnt he." she chuckled.

Windpaw laughed, "she probably will anyway but okay." he purred, 'accidentaly' brushing up agianst her as he walked by.

"Weird?" Oakfeather laughed coldly, which was different than his normal cheeriness. "That's only the tip of the iceburg."

"It didn't fall," Poppypaw said with a snort. "You crushed it." She chuckled, eyes scanning the area around them.

~

"And if you're not together in the end?" Limefeather said bleakly, thinking about her relationship between her and Chestnutclaw, and her relationship between her and Adderstrike.

Wolfstar nodded, flicking his ears. "He nearly drowned earlier; Adderstrike had to pull him out." He paused, and added, "He'squite the stealthy trouble maker. Maybe that's why Tigerstar has been contacting him..."

Lionpaw purred, trotting after him with a swish of her tail tip. As they approach the camp, though, the air tasted of different emotions; joy, confusion, happiness, guilt, bitterness and hatred. She wondered what was going on.
