Liam stayed silent for a moment, carefully thinking what he would say. "If you're thinking I killed someone, you're wrong. It was my own blood. It was on my shirt too. But I changed that before talking to the cops." He sighed heavily. It was the sigh of someone who had been holding a secret for years, and needed somebody to tell it to. But what would he say? By the way, I was there when you got attacked, yeah, I kind of saved your life. And oh yeah! I can also turn into a wolf. Yep, that will go over great.

Annabeth sighed. ''Well then, how exactly did you manage to get blood on yourself ? Did you get in a fight or something?'' Her eyes were steely, and a scowl was upon her face. ''I still want to know exactly what you did, Liam. Whether it was your blood or not.'' No wonder the cops questioned him, she thought. He really is bad at hiding things.

Liam kept his eyes on the road, "I-" he shook his head, "I can't. Some things just can't be told. At least, not yet." His brown eyes were guarded and his face showed no emotion. He was still angry with himself, and he wanted to tell her, but she would need to prove that she wouldn't spill his secret to anyone. This kind of thing was a secret you took with you to your grave.

Annabeth at that point grew, plainly and simply, extremely irritated with Liam. ''What the hell do you mean 'you can't'? You tell me you had blood on your pants, and now you won't tell me why?'' She raised her voice ever so slightly, and narrwed her eyes at him. Gritting her teeth, she turned away from him and looked out the window. ''Fine, have things your way.'' At that point, she clenched her jaw, and decided not to speak to him.

"I didn't mean to tell you that." Liam growled under his breath, "Obviously." He saw they were getting close to their destination and wondered what her plan was now, if she would go through with it or not. After a few more moments, he spoke, quietly, unsure of himself, "I wish I could tell you. Really, I do. I just.....cant, and thats the truth."

Annabeth remained ignoring Liam, rolling her eyes and glaring out the window. ''Whatever...'' She muttered, shaking her head. Of course he could tell her. No matter what it was, he had told her enough already that he should have no problem telling her the rest. In fact, she figured it must have been something bad, if he was willing to let her think about what it was herself, and there were plenty of bad things that it could be.

He didn't say anything for a while, just brought the truck to a stop as they arrived at Sanchez Cliff. He debated getting out of the truck and showing her what he was. But would she run? Well she hadn't the night before, even when he'd so obviously urged her to. He kept his hands on the steering wheel, gripping it so tight that his knuckles turned white, "Still want to go Cliff Diving?" he asked.

Maybe.'' She replied, trying to lighten the mood a little. Glancing over, she saw him with a pretty strong grip on the steering wheel, and wondered what was wrong. ''Hey, you ok?'' She asked, looking up at him.

Liam forced himself to relax, "Yeah I'm fine." he said, letting go of the steering wheel and opening the door, "just thinking." he said, jumping out, "So you ready to hike to the edge of a cliff and jump off into freezing cold water?" he asked, forcing a smile. Maybe someday he would be able to tell her. Hopefully someday soon. He glanced at the sun, and guessed it would only be a few more hours until sundown, and then all he hoped is that he wouldn't have to tell her too soon. ((Teehee, So how fast should vampires be able to recover? XD )) |

His eyes darted between trees, something about the forest seemed....off. Like they weren't alone, but his sensitive hearing didnt pick up any bird songs, no scuffling of rodents in the bushes, nothing. It was eerily quiet, yet he couldn't shake the feeling that the shadows were watching him. |
