The large machine-like mutant stood crouched in an alley way as his wounds on his right side began to smoke and leak a thick black liquid, as if his entire body was made out of smoke and gasoline. Engel listened to the male who was holding Jacklin hostage and cursed to himself as he hid in the alley way, making an attempt to calm his nervous as he poked his head around the corner of the alley. "Will you let her go if I go with you willingly? For your research?" A dry and dark voice called out to the human male, the S.W.A.T. team still holding their guns, ready to fire whenever they were given the signal. Engel wasn't too certain how all of this was going to work out, but either way he was sure to pay back his debt to the female mutant he had met a while ago. Stepping out a bit further from the alley, his large lifeless eyes gazed at the humans as he took a step closer. A few of the men moved their weapons, positioning them exactly at the beast in case he was planning something. In all truth though, Engel usually never had a plan when he got into dangerous situations. Vicious fangs were bared as the large three headed mutant snapped at the humans, several of them getting caught in his jaws. His attention was pulled away from the powerless humans as he caught sight of Adi ducking out of the line of fire as he ran towards an injured mutant further down the road. The sight of the brown headed figure made his mutant blood come to a boil and he began to go berserk on the small humans, taking out a great number of them. Burke gave a roar that seemed to be filled with multiple voices and he was able to scare off a few humans who dropped their weapons and frantically ran down the street, away from the large creature attacking them. Three sets of narrowed eyes glowed as Burke's heads turned, snapping at several scattering humans that were still there, and were making an attempt to bring him down by firing at his thick skin. Large paws crushed the fallen soldiers under him and it wasn't long before only a few enemies were left. Their eyes wide with fear as they glanced nervously at each other. Burke watched them with a low menacing growl, almost tempting them to fire at him once more. Within moments, the large canine-like mutant had taken care of the few individual men that had once stood before him, too frozen with fear to even move. The bodies around his large paws were trampled and crushed, the fresh smell of death brought an eerie feeling to the air as Burke shifted back into his human form.
The fierce and heartless look was still in his eyes as he marched towards the alley way where he had seen Adi pull the injured mutant to. Grabbing him roughly by his arm, he pulled him to his feet and walked him around the corner, a small snarl on his face as he shoved him angrily against the wall, perhaps a bit harder than he intended. "What do you think you were doing!? I gave you one job, JUST ONE! And that was to go hide but then I see you wondering around in the line of fire LIKE IT'S NO BIG DEAL!! Did you think the humans wouldn't shoot you just because you look like one of THEM!? Is that it!?" Burke's tone was low and harsh as he glared at the other male, giving several curses as he spoke with him.

Jacklin shook her head no to Engel. "Don't." she told him. She looked at the man's arm around her neck. She bit him as hard as she could, causing him to drop his gun and scream. She round house kicked him in the face, splattering blood on the pavement. Jacklin quickly ran over to the whited haired boy and looked to the ground. "My apologizes." She said in a gentle voice. "I left my self venerable and wasn't thinking for your sake." she said. Jacklin wasn't quite sure if he was mad or not. She hopped it would be not. She wanted to stay by his side, not enrage him while doing it. Jacklin was ready to run from these guys, but wanted to wait for the white haired boy.

Adi laughed softly, and watched her with sincerity in his eyes. "Why would I tell anyone, silly? I'm a 'mutant', too." The youth explained, his lips curving slightly to give a tilted smile. His brow furrowed ever so slightly as he listened to her. Not only did his concern heighten at her demeanor, but also at the sound he'd heard. A thunderous roar, so loud it seemed to shake the very atmosphere. By the sound of his bellow, Burke sounded angry. Livid. Adi hoped that he was alright. Just before the young man could agree to Spirit's comment, he was snatched up and light brown eyes moved to glance at his provoker. The orbs widened slightly as he was met with a rage filled gaze, and a bloodied body. Adi gritted his teeth as the back of his skull made contact with the wall behind him dully as he was shoved against it, brief pain shooting through him like a lance, yet dissipating not long after. "I-I'm sorry..," Adi began, his voice wavering as if he was about to pour tears, yet that wasn't the case. He was actually nervous. Not only did he not know Burke all too well, but the rage shown by this man made him feel a bit inferior. "I wanted to go save her...! If I didn't, she could've died! I couldn't just leave her there in- in the street!" Spoke the smaller being, trying not to anger the much stronger mutant any more than he already was.

Seeing Jacklin free herself from the man's arm, the white headed male gave a relieved sigh. "At least now I don't have to risk my life heh.." Engel mumbled to himself as he quickly turned and got ready to run, though not before dodging a few bullets that were aimed near him. With rattling pipes, a burst of smoke shot out from the machine attached to Engel's back as he began to sprint quickly away from the humans, he glanced back to make sure the female was still following and he quickly made a sharp turn down another street. With sides burning from the injures that were previously given to him, he cursed as he slowed his pace. His mutant form instantly began to blow away, similar to smoke as he appeared in his human form once again. Holding his side, he quickly moved into an alley way, figuring they could hide there for a minute or two as he pulled out his crumpled and crushed pack of cigarettes. Quickly pulling one out, he lit it up and gave a large puff of smoke as he lifted his shirt and turned to look at the two bullet wounds on his rib cage. Engel gave a curse as he let his shirt fall back down and he scratched the back of his head for a moment, leaning against the alley wall. "We should lie low for awhile.." The white haired male spoke as he glanced at Jacklin a few feet away.

Green eyes filled with agitation examined the smaller male's face as he spoke, his teeth grinding harshly together as he listened to his excuse. "She doesn't look like she's worth saving to me. I wouldn't have wasted my time and energy, let alone my life for something lying in the middle of the road." Burke spoke heartlessly as he gave a small growl and leaned around the corner to look at the injured mutant, his eyes narrowing as he saw her. "Just forget it. If you end up getting yourself killed it won't be my fault. That's for sure." The dark headed male spoke as he glanced at the male with an almost hurtful look before moving back into the alley. Seeing the female, he sat on the cool ground a few feet away and rested his head against the wall behind him. The chilled air was a bit refreshing as he began to calm down from his recent outburst of anger. The pain from the gunshot wound on his right shoulder had been numbed by adrenaline and he slowly began to feel the sharp, burning feeling. Lifting his head, Burke looked at his shoulder and a bloodstain was visible on his thick coat. Taking off his jacket, he let his scarred body become exposed as he moved to take a closer look at it, giving a slight hiss as the cool air made contact with it.

Jacklin kept sight of him and followed him into the ally. She saw his wounds and looked around. She cleaned off what looked like a brand new rag on top of the dumpster. She held it up to his wound, focusing on his wound. "Just keep the pressure..." She said and let him handle it. "I would have turned into my mutant, but..." She looked to the ground. "I can't really control myself..." She twirled her thumbs. Jacklin didn't want to go on a rampage at the moment. Besides, she can really only summon her true self when shes angry. Jacklin looked back up to Engel and forced a small smile. "At least were okay..." she looked back down to his wound. "For the most part..." She said in a desperate voice. Humans didn't understand what it felt like. To be all alone, unwanted, on the run almost every second of your life. Thats how Jacklin felt until she met Engel. She hadn't smiled in years until now.

Spirit looked over at the male and then out to the street, she let out a small sigh and she rubbed her hand against her for head and lifted her other fingers and dropped them to the ground, from time to time. She looked over to the male who now had his jacket off, seeing all his scars she raised her eyebrow at the sight. "W-What happened?" she stuttered, her icy blue eyes just looking straight at him, usually she'd be trying to ignore other mutants, and all humans, but this one seemed to catch her eye with his scars. They made her wonder what had happened in his past, and how it all happened. "I-uh my name's Spirit, what about yours?" she asked as she turned her head slightly away.

Adi's brow furrowed slightly as he listened to Burke. He almost didn't blame him for being so upset. The man had told him to hide, to get out of the way. Those men could have easily killed him had they not been so preoccupied on trying to kill the enormous being that Burke had become.
As heartless as it was for him to say such a thing about Spirit, he chose to put it off as simply anger. The only thing he was doing was trying to prevent him to get into danger. Even with that, he was sure that the injuries sustained whilst fighting the humans did add into that rage. Adi didn't blame him for being so angry.
The youth followed him back into the alley, not at all far behind. Danger wasn't over with just yet. Adi sat across from the man, not saying a word. His gaze caught sight of a still-fresh bullet wound, the one which almost got him dead. Adi was hesitant, yet moved closer, all the while removing his scarf. He could use this to dress the wound, even if it wasn't much, it would keep it from bleeding out and getting bacteria inside. The young man didn't want to touch him without his permission, so he cleared his throat, gesturing to the wound as he held up the scarf.

"Nothing happened, and my name is Burke." The dark headed male responded to the injured female not too far off from where he sat. It wasn't hard to see that Spirit was curious about him, though to him he couldn't care less about what anyone thought or wondered about him. Watching Adi begin to remove his scarf and offer it to him, he gave a small sigh and received the scarf before wrapping it around his shoulder. Burke winced slightly as he wrapped the scarf tightly around the fresh wound, creating a tourniquet and shoving his coat back on. Now that he was a bit more relaxed, he could feel the agitation he felt a few minutes ago, begin to slowly fade away. Rubbing his head slightly, he looked out into the street as he heard a police siren edging closer towards their location. "We should keep moving, before more humans arrive." Burke advised with what seemed like a tired voice as he moved up to his feet.

"Thanks." Engel answered with a cigarette in his mouth as he took the rag and applied the pressure to his two bleeding wounds. It wasn't like he hadn't done something like this before but he was glad Jacklin had found a clean rag to place over his recent injuries. "You'll figure out how to control it sooner or later I'm sure." The white headed male spoke as he blew out a cloud of smoke before pushing himself off of the wall. "C'mon we need to meet back up with the others." Engel spoke with a small grin as he shoved his orange sunglasses back over his eyes and pushed the rag into one of his back pockets of his green pants. The originally white shirt he was wearing was now tainted with blood and the color had faded considerably since he had first bought it.

Thin brows pulled together slightly as Adi fiddled with the hem of his shirt. The moment he heard Burke speak, he thought to voice his mind at the sound of the other man's suggestion. "Shouldn't we find the others first?" His light brown eyes moved from Burke, to the lone girl sitting across from the two. He didn't want to leave just yet. Not without the others, despite the distant blaring of authority sirens.
Not wanting to agitate him, he quickly stood and dusted off the back of his pants. He offered a hand to Spirit, giving her a reassuring smile as he did so. "C'mon, don't let anything get to you. We're all the same, if you think about it, after all, right?"

"Thank you." she said a bit quietly and took his hand. She pulled herself up and put most of her weight on her right foot instead of her left. Her whole foot, and her left felt worse then any other part of her body.
She let out a small groan of pain and looked over at him then away. "W-Where a-are we going?" she stuttered and looked over at the second male, she let out a sigh and looked back at Adi.

((Let's try to keep the Ooc one liners to a minimum okay guys? And Sly, I'll try and help you find a picture through Rmail if you'd like.))
"We'll find them on the way. I heard gunshots not long ago so they're still in the area I'm sure." The large figure spoke as he glanced over at the smaller male who was currently helping the other mutant up. Straightening up his coat, he shoved his hands in his pockets and poked his head around the corner of the alley way, looking down both directions of the street. Burke was glad that the town of Gore wasn't heavily populated, though seeing how the world was now, he couldn't think of any town or run down city that currently held a high population. After making it was safe to proceed, Burke began to calmly walk back towards the apartment building before turning down another street where he could see several mangled human bodies left rotting on the ground carelessly along with a S.W.A.T. vehicle. It wasn't hard to assume that this was where Engel had fought with the humans, along with the fact that the scent of smoke hung heavily in the air. The police sirens began to grow, seeming as if they were nearing the area quickly. Picking up his pace, Burke quickly made his way over towards another street. His gaze locked onto the ground as he followed a few drops of a thick black liquid that almost resembled oil. Rounding the corner, a low grunt came from him as he ran into something that seemed to curse as he was knocked back. Burke then realized that the figure he had ran into was Engel himself, with a nasty large blood stain on his right rib cage and he watched him move to his feet with a groan.

"Ngh!..Hey man watch where you're- Oh! Hey Burke heh.." Engel spoke from where he sat on the ground in front of the larger being. Pushing himself onto his feet, he groaned and glanced behind Burke to see Adi along with a new mutant female. "Man there's a lot of us in this town huh? Hey I'm Engel." The white headed male greeted with a friendly smile as he held out his slightly bloody hand, hoping the female wouldn't mind too much.
