She ended up fiddling with one of the golden hoops in her right ear as she watched him attempt to believe she was crazy. Even though he already believed in her ability. But, at his comment, she merely shrugged her shoulder. She didn't need luck of any kind, she just need to use it a bit more to strengthen the connections. Sylvari's pointed ears pricked up when she felt her phone vibrate against her thigh.
Weird spot, but she liked it there.
Pulling it out, she glanced at the screen. Oh goody. A text message from... Somebody. With a faint frown, she unlocked it and opened her Messages.
|| Yo! We're meeting for dinner at the Sanctuary. You game for a little Evisceration? --- Risky ||
The ice demoness pursed her lips as she drummed her fingers against the back of the iPhone as she thought about it. Her stomach growled in protest of not enough food and she sighed, quickly texting back that she'd come.
"Hey, I'm going to go grab something to eat with my... cousins--" they were since their fathers were brothers "--at this bar. It's actually not that far from here," she said as she replaced her phone and glanced at the closets street signs. "Would you like to come?"

[[:o My thing didn't say you posted. Or maybe I saw it and didn't realize it. o3o ]]
As she took out her phone, I thought this would be the perfect time to leave with out causing too much suspicion. I kept backing away slowly, lifting a hand out as though waving good bye slightly and just as I turned my head, finally feeling as though I got away from messing up once again real bad-
"Hey, I'm going to go grab something to eat with my... cousins at this bar. It's actually not far from here. Would you like to come?"
I swallowed. It's either stay with this girl, who didn't know me or who I was so that could cause trouble because I had no idea who she technically was either. Or, go back to the coven to hear the sound of their laughs at knowing I once again summoned the police on the streets because of my stupidity.
Turning around, I gave her a bright smile; white teeth glistening. "I'd love too."

Sylvari just now realized that he had been turning to leave and felt the faintest pang of guilt. But, that was soon frozen and kicked to the curb when he agreed with a full on smile that showed off his teeth. Cocking up a brow at that fast turn around, she felt her own lips curve into a smile.
"Fantastic!" she said. By coming along with her, maybe he'd stop that 'I must think happy thoughts' thing he was doing before. "Follow me," the ice demoness added as she continued the way she had been going before she stopped by him.

I caught up with her as she started walking the way she was before. I turned back once; knowing good and well that the girl was talked into believing that it was just her imagination. But it wasn't; that was the sad part. She was done with the notion that she saw a monster come out of a ordinary man's face, while I was stuck with being that monster.
"Sure thing." I responded. Hopefully this change in plans would get it off of my mind.

It didn't take long for the two of them to reach the Sanctuary Bar & Grill on Ursulines Avenue. But they were stopped by a tall, muscular male with double bows and arrows tattooed on his biceps. He opened his mouth to start his beginning spiel about no starting fights when Sylvari raised one hand to forestall him.
"I know your rules by heart," she vowed. The man looked skeptical before letting his eyes wander to the male at Sylvari's back. "But... he doesn't." This time, the man grinned.
"Fresh meat, huh?" he asked. Sylvari just shrugged. "Our rules are simple: Come In Peace, Or Leave In Pieces. Your attitude is welcome, but check any and all weapons at the door. This is the place to come and hang out, be seen, and just drink and eat in peace. Our policy is to Do No Harm and No Spill Blood. Anyone who has trouble with this will get a first class ticket out the door by our owner who is fondly known as Papa Bear," the tattooed male said, directing the rules at the male behind Sylvari before letting them enter.
Once inside the building, Sylvari led her new friend towards a table near the stage where a band was getting all set up. There were a group of people at the table already.
"Hey! Sy! 'Bout time you showed up!" one of them said as they came closer.
Sylvari made a face. "It only took five minutes to get here, Risky. Malues, cut a girl some slack!" she exclaimed.
The other woman smirked, hazy crimson eyes light with amusement. "Whose the stud ya brought?" she asked, switching her attention to the male.

I followed the strange girl in silence, feeling as though sooner or later one of the other vampires would come out of no where and snicker at me for making friends with a mortal. I wouldn't word it that way; it was more of me running away from my coven for the night by following the woman.
It still was bugging me how I wasn't as effected by her regarding her blood. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she had that 'gift'. Maybe I should learn what she really was before going forward with this.
I was just about to grab her elbow, take her away from wherever she was taking me, when I huge man started talking to me about rules. Where were we going? I swallowed; I thought this was just some bar. It didn't seem like no ordinary bar. I missed half of the words he said, my mind still on the fact that this didn't seem like any normal bar.
But I did nod my head in acknowledgement. I wasn't the vampire confident of my abilities just yet and I kept telling myself that he was a mere mortal; but his size, even though I almost matched him, was still keeping me from acting 'normal'. But, I've been confused as to what normal was lately anyways.
As the girl - now known as Sy - led me to a group, I put my hands in my pockets and let her talk. I knew there was going to be people she was meeting, but I still felt a bit out of place. I haven't been this close to people that weren't vampires since before I was bitten; this wasn't really in my 'comfort zone' range.
As the woman's eyes seemed to look to me, I gave her a tight smirk. I wasn't the best at faking. "Call me Travis." I said, not wanting to be in the center of attention, I didn't add on that. I could always mess up again that way. I shook the thoughts from my mind; trying to at least feel a little enlightened at the fact that someone -even if it was just a random girl from the streets - decided to tag me along.

Sylvari watched her cousin mouth the name of the man she had brought with her. The ice demoness just smiled. Travis was a pretty sexy name and she could tell her younger cousin was getting slightly jealous of the fact that Travis was here with Sylvari instead of her. Making sure her back was to Travis, she offered Risky a fanged grin to which the other woman ignored making Sylvari laugh.
"So when is Evisceration set to play?" Sylvari asked.
"Ten minutes," a male rumbled. Silver dyed black hair fell in one of his clear, dark crimson eyes.
Sylvari nodded. "Good." Turning to Travis, she asked, "Do you like Heavy Metal?"

I was more or less oblivious to the interactions between Sylvari and the group. I once again rubbed my jaw as I looked around; lost in my own thoughts. I was more of a paranoid one these last five years; I couldn't help but wonder when the coven was going to come and ruin the mood of the place.
"Hmm?" I lifted my eyebrows at Sylvari, blinking when her words finally registered. "Oh. Heavy Metal is fine, yeah. I... Don't have a favorite." I said, shrugging and slipping my hands in my jeans.
I was probably crushing any interest the group would have in me but I didn't care. I pursed my lips, finally meeting Sylvari's eyes with my own green ones. "Why, is that going to play?"

Sylvari shrugged. "If you don't have a favourite than you basically unbiased towards any genre of music. And that means, your open to sway," she said, grinning without revealing her own sets of fangs. At his question, she replied, "Yep. Evisceration is primarily Heavy Metal, but they'll cover any band who has influenced them."

[[ It would. :D ]]
Once again, her words went through one ear and out the other. And not because I was lost in my thoughts. It was because my fears and worries once having a nice party in my brain were coming to life.
The smell of the one that treated me the worst first came. Just the thought of him brought my ex pression to be laced in disgust. "No..." I groaned to myself quietly, drawing out the 'O' as I turned around in paranoia.
They couldn't be here! They'd rip these people - whatever they were, if they weren't normal humans - to shreds! They might not have ever experienced being around vampires before.
My eyes warily looked back at Sylvari. Since she was different, she wasn't human. Maybe it wasn't so bad that vampires came. Even though I had no idea what exactly she was. I swallowed, finally tearing my bright green eyes away and at the door just as my coven waltzed in. I shut my eyes a moment, wanting to disappear. Instead, I cracked an eye open to say Dave, the one I hated with all my heart, putting a hand on my shoulder. "What's the duffer doing here?" Duffer. He tended to use that word a lot towards me.
Dave looked to the group by Sylvari with a charming smile on his face, brown eyes sparkling. "Look guys! He found friends." I clenched my jaw as I balled my hands into fists. Some day. Some how. I'll find a way to sock him right in that jaw with out worrying about being kicked out.
I decided not to comment but I don't think Dave was looking for one anyways. Instead, he pushed passed me with a hard shove, reeling me into the table beside me. Lucky enough, I got my balance before anything knocked over. Cursing to myself, I looked back at him with a snarl. But he was already focusing on Sylvari. He looked at her with another one of his charming smiles, confidently showing his fangs. "Just call my Dave. So sorry to have Travis be a burden; he tends too follow people around like a lost puppy since he's a bit more... Eh. Slow. We can take him off your hands." Dave shrugged, stepping a bit closer; his voice going a bit lower. "My names Dave, by the way. And yours?"

Jace and Axis, along with the other two members of their band, were doing small sound checks with their instruments and their microphones just as this Dave character approached Sylvari. Her other cousins had one eye on her as they discreetly paid attention to the conversation that was taking place.
Her black eyes narrowed fractionally when they came over at first. "Duffer?" she asked Travis, completely ignoring the male before her. "What in the name of Malues is a duffer?" Clearly it was her first time hearing the word so obviously she was majorly confused.
When Dave introduced himself, Sylvari turned her attention back to him. His fangs were casually displayed. Stupid vampire, she thought. Though she did curve her lips into a sinister smile that showed off her pointed canines.
Go on and tell him who you are. Who you truly are.
That was Draek. Giving her the a-okay.
"I am Sylvari Arenus. Daughter of Shax and champion to the Goddess Hrasa," she said as ice slowly started coat the spikes of her electric blue hair. "And it seems that you... and your little coven... are not welcome here."

I ignored Sy's question. Just saying what it meant would bring me humiliation. My fists clenched and unclenched repeatedly as Dave went came closer to the group. This was just like him. Purposely trying to act friendly to look better then me. I wasn't much competition, he thought that much. So why put me down when I was already low?
"Oh, lighten up." Dave said, not commenting on her first statement.
"It's just Travis."
He added with a wave of his hand towards me. "If anyone isn't welcomed here, it would be the vampire that didn't know how to drain a mortals blood with out tears in their eyes." He said, laughing smugly before looking at me with eyes of mischief. I clenched my jaw, with out hesitation, I decided he wasn't worth it. As usual, I backed out as he asked for a fight. And he knew it too.
Instead, I picked up the chairs that had fallen when he had pushed me, and sat on one of them, crossing my chest and pretending as though I didn't know any of them. Or, we'll say, wishing I didn't know any of them. This was all too humiliating.

Sylvari's eyes narrowed as Dave waltzed closer to her cousins. She could see Ariskye's eyes flash a light crimson as her fingers twitched. Her nails tapped lightly against the wooden table. The ice demoness growled softly in her throat as she crossed her arms against her chest. But it was that innocent movement that caused ice to form around Dave's feet and the floor around him; keeping him there and forbidding any more forward movement.
The act was also hidden from the humans that frequented the bar.
"I'm usually not one to judge so quickly, but you are being such an @ss right now," she said dryly, eyes flicking over to Travis. He had that "I don't know them" feeling broiling over in is mind.

Just as Dave opened his mouth to say more things that I guessed would humiliate me in the end, he paused. I lifted my eyebrow, watching as his mouth stayed open in shock before looking down at his feet. I looked down with him to see ice formed around his foot. I looked up to Sy, surprise in my features. Not only did she have the gift of telepathy, but now she could freeze people? What was this woman.
My thoughts were interrupted by a tiny laugh that escaped from a deep voiced throat. The laugh turned into a loud menacing chuckle that could shake any mortals bones. I looked back up to see it was Dave; his head back as though something was humorous about the situation. Abruptly, he straightened his head and glare, easily with his hieghtened strength lifting his foot off as the ice cracked and soon released him. He stepped up to Sy, grabbed her forearm and squeezing tightly as he came close enough to where their noses were close to touching.
"That was cute."
He started, but I could tell this wasn't the end. I jumped from my chair, my chair flying against the wall behind me, and came over, putting a hand on Dave's shoulder. "Calm down and let her go."
I was oblivious to the fact that she could handle it herself.

Sylvari licked his nose.
Full on base to tip, center of nose lick.
She was aware that her cousins had moved suddenly, turning to face her. Except for the two on stage. They had to keep up the illusion that they knew nothing of what was going on. But when she did her little nose-lick trick, Ariskye let out a laugh. Her lips curling over her teeth to reveal her own sharpened canines.
"Nice one Sylvari," her younger cousin commented.
Sylvari smiled, tilting her head to one side as she craned her neck back to look Dave in the eye. Her black eyes shimmered with a challenging air before she snapped her head forward. Her forehead connected solidly with Dave's face.

( Dont hate me for mistakes I am on my kindle and realized I never posted. And there is no auto correct :c )
I blinked, surprise etched in my features as the girl lifted her head, her tongue meeting Dave's nose. Though Dave was startled, wiping his nose and oblivious to the silent interaction between Sy and the others, I was not. "Lets just calm down and -"
Dave's head snapped back with a hard crack. The smile that was laced in his ex pression soon disappeared. With a snarl, he ignored the crack on his forehead and grabbed Sy's forearms, squeezing them tightly and lifting her odf the ground with a growl.
"Thats all you got, princess?"
Dave sneered before flinging her gingerly across the room. I don't know what happened with her (not sure if she had powers to help her so lD ) but I once again I gtabbed Dave's shoulder to hold him back.

Sylvari vanished within an icy shadow.
Ariskye dashed off to warn the owners and to spread her conscious through the minds of the humans, making an illusion that nothing supernatural was about to happen.
Sylvari reappeared decked out in scales. An ice-blue scaled tail curled around long silver talons. Feathers on her back bristled as she unfurled a single set of wings. Beating them once, she snarled as she bared her sharpened teeth at Dave. Black eyes shimmering in a fury. Suddenly lunging forward, she grabbed the vampire by the throat and lifted him up into the air as she stood at her full six foot six in height. A forked tongue flicked out before hiding back behind her teeth.
"Try that again, vampire," she hissed. "The daughter of Shax dares you." Her claws started to dig into the skin on Dave's neck.

Sylvari could tell Dave wasn’t going to let a demoness – a female no less – take him out in front of his coven. He was their leader and the leader had to show that he was not one to be beat by a girl. She could feel his hands wrap around the scales of her wrist as he attempted to crush the cartilage. Her black eyes narrowed and she squeezed tighter on his neck, claws digging even deeper into his neck.
The rest of the coven, besides Travis, started forward to protect their leader and a line of black fire restricted their advance. Even from where she stood, Sylvari could feel the intense heat the fire gave off before it vanished.
“Take another step, you’ll lose more than just your foot,” Drakine rumbled from behind Sylvari. The ice demoness knew that the Hellfire user would make on that veiled challenge.
Dave looked from demon decked out Sylvari as she cracked open her wings, the blue feathers coating themselves in ice to make them look sharp, dangerous. Her tail lashed out once before arching over her back so the point of the spade faced the back of her neck. He could feel ice crawl down his skin, the temperature as cold as glacier ice.
Sylvari switched her attention to Ariskye when her cousin came back, her crimson eyes sparkling with pleasure. It was through that look that Sylvari knew what to do. She opened her wings a bit more, letting the vampire in her grasp see what she was one not to be trifled with. The ice tingled together like broken glass as she unfurled her wings to their full length. She set Dave back down on his feet since he had been dangling six feet into the air.
But, she didn’t remove her hand from his neck. As ice continued to creep down his skin, an electric charge passed from her hand to his body and she quickly removed her scale-covered hand as Dave twitched and fell to the ground, starting his convulsions.
“You just got zapped by electricity that has a voltage similar to the lightning on Jupiter,” she said nonchalantly as she inspected her claws as Dave’s convulsions lessened.
“You… b!tch,” he growled, narrowing swirling gray and red eyes.
Sylvari twitched and reached down, claws extended. But instead of grabbing him, she sliced open his face from crown to chin, his blood spurting over her nails and scales as it also dotted the floor. Then zapped him a blue and black bolt of lightning. He rolled over, smoking.
“Leave,” she snarled. “You and your coven.” But she turned and pointed one claw at Travis as the vampires collected their leader before fleeing the restaurant. “You. Stay.”

Through all my years - though not as many - as a vampire, no one has ever trained or prepared me for a situation like this. I had no special abilities like I had seen others in my coven have, none I knew of anyways. So as I watched with my mouth agape at Sy's demon 'form', I could do nothing but watch in helplessness.
I was just about to go for Dave after Sy told him to leave, hopefully to help him, but as I took a step forward, the other members of the coven took care of it; casting me a glare. Of course, I was used to the rejection, but it seemed as though the members thought this was all my fault. Green eyes looked up at Sy in shock as she told me to stay.
Yes, I was more gentle then most. But that didn't mean I was a coward.
"You tell me to stay after wounding my leader? I'm not your property and will leave if I wish." I replied, wondering where my fear had gone.
Oh right; I had no fear. I wasn't a coward. At least, I told myself such as I tried to control my wobbling knees.
