"Yeah, I'm okay...it's clotting." Fang said awkwardly, shifting in his cage. Dravius made him slightly uncomfortable...then another experiment piped up, and Fang bristled; his feathers stood out, making him look larger than he really was, and he turned to face Matrix. "Reality exists, and trying to escape by yourself will get your wings torn off. You want that?" he spat a bit more venomously than he intended. "Erasers will kill the first thing that moves. If you're the only thing that moves, you'll have every Eraser in this damn place tearing you limb from limb. I would know-" Here, he tugged up his shirt to reveal the large, pinkish scars crisscrossing his left side. His skin was a shock of white in the darkness of his clothing, his wings, and the world around them. "I've fought them for 6 years, and without my flock, I would've been bird-kid pudding. Luckily, I only got beaten one time..."

Skai spoke again, distracting him. He faced her and tried to calm his heartbeat, but answered her question. "Yeah, me and five others escaped with Jeb's help...that was years ago. I've been caught twice since then, and this makes three times-..."

Then, another experiment caught his attention. Fang turned to face her, and tried to deflate his wings, swollen with adrenaline; this experiment looked frightened. "NYC?" He asked, slightly stunned that she knew nothing about the outside. "New York City's a thousand miles away from here, at least. It's over the mountains and across the Great Plains, in a hugely-industrialized corner of the US of A. Great city, great hot dogs."

Matrix narrowed her eyes and lifted one wing as she said, "I know. But the scientists grafted me with a little more osprey DNA than they planned too. It turned my hands and feet into the likeliness of the osprey's talons. Sharper, but still effective in causing damage." And if to prove her point, she set her a hand against the steel and scratched downward. A squealing noise sprange into the air and it sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

"Hot..what?" Dravius asked, and seemed horrified at the idea of eating a dog. "Why would you eat dogs?" He asked in dismay, eyes narrowed.

"They wouldn't taste good." He added, after a thought. "And why did they bring you back and not 'Tear you limb from limb'?" Dravius asked, shifting about. "Were you not moving?" He said, starting to fold himself back into the tent of feathers and flesh. "Great Plains? What are those?!"

The boy seemed completly dismayed at the ideas Fang was spouting, about eating dogs and the US of A. What was that?! He tried to calm down, to slow his breathing and his heart rate.

Skai flinched visibly at the noise created by Matrix. She flared her wings in the available space and hissed over at the awakened experiment.

"Will you be quiet!" She shuddered as she glared. She wasn't truly someone who was easily riled, but there was only so much pain and torture anyone could take before it started effecting them that way. Unfortunately, in the silence of such a place, harsh noises like that tended to put her straight on edge. She turned her back to that experiment, keeping her wings flared slightly as she tried to calm her racing heart.

Eventually she managed it, then looked back at Fang, eyes blazing as she held onto the bars on her cage on Fang's side. "You escaped that many times?... Surely... You have to have a way out of here..." Her eyes were almost pleading, but not quite. Her ex
pression was hanging somewhere between daring and hopelessness, thanks the fact she was so unsure.

Fang tried not to flinch as Matrix dragged her talons over the steel, but it was all he could do to maintain his composure. He narrowed his eyes, then exhaled slowly. A few moments pas.sed. After too long, he began to blend into the darkness until even with enhanced sight (as they were all bound to have), picking up Fang's outline would be nearly impossible. It looked like he had vanished from his cage.

With a snarl, Raj threw himself at the bars of his cage closest to Matrix's. He reached an arm through the bars, trying to scratch at the other experiment without success. "Keep that down! I'm trying to sleep here!" He snarled low in his throat, his white fangs ethereal in the darkness. Then Dravius mentioned something about eating dogs, which Raj found more entertaining. Apparently, the "empty cage" below him did, too. Fang burst out laughing, revealing a mouthful of white teeth in a sea of nothingness. With a shake of his head, he reappeared like the Cheshire cat.

"Not real dogs, silly." Fang said with a chuckle, "Hot dogs are made of beef. It's like a cow with ketchup and mustard on it. Amazing stuff. And as for how they caught me-...well, Jeb's been wanting to have me and my old flock caught for years now, just to be studied. To see how we've grown since he last saw me, when I was 10. The Erasers are strictly told not to kill me. That doesn't mean they don't hurt me..." He put a hand to his left ribs. "One of them put me in the hospital not too long ago. That was a sticky situation."

Raj interjected to answer Dravius's other question: "The Great Plains is a vast stretch of land between Colorado and Ohio. It's very flat there, and the soil is very fertile. It's hundreds of miles around, maybe even thousands."

Then Fang's dark eyes rounded on Skai; he nodded almost imperceptibly. "I'm working something out." He said vaguely, not wanting to get the girl's hopes up. She seemed to be on his side.

(Don't stick that needle there!)

NAME: Nylat
AGE: Around 16 human years.
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: 93% Red fox, 1% House cat(Can't think of a breed. DX), 1% wolf, 3% human.
PERSONALITY: Nylat is very calm most of the time, usually thinking about what a mess she is. A mix of four species, not any one alone. But sometimes, the wolf inside of her comes out, and when it does, she is quite foul-tempered. She is quite smart, for someone who spent their whole life caged. Out of boredom, she often talks to herself, and has actually created a spilt personality in her mind. Very odd creature, indeed.
DEION: Nylat remains very fox-like, despite the many animals she is 'mixed' with. She has shaggier fur, like a wolf, and is also slightly larger than a normal fox, though it is unnoticable unless you stand her beside one. Two of her top teeth, fangs, you may call them, are also longer, probably from the wolf side of her, but they only extend a slight bit below the others. She has a very feline grace, and her eyes are slitted like a cat's. Her pelt is a red-brown, like that of a red fox.
NOTABLE ANIMAL FEATURES (only fill out if your character is mostly human): N/A
NOTABLE HUMAN FEATURES (only fill out if your character is mostly animal):
Nylat can speak and understand human speech. However, having so many species mottled together, she often jumbles words with a hiss, grwol, bark, anything. She prefers to speak 'animal' as she calls it, though will speak human when needed. As far as life span, it is speculated to be that of a human, but they are unsure, due to the numerous amounts of DNA she has. :D
SPECIAL ABILITIES (remember, keep it realistic - a bear/human hybrid cannot fly or turn invisible): She is very strong, when she puts her mind to it, but rarely hurts anyone who hasn't hurt her in any way, due to her gentle nature. Other than that, only the keen hearing of a cat/fox, and the grace of a cat.
WEAKNESSES: Due to part ofher being cat, Nylat is overly curious. She often ends up sticking her nose in things that should never have been seen. Of course, this curiousity also helps sometimes too. Rarely, though.
PAST (you can choose to keep this secret, but it may be important to getting to know your character): Nothing truely interesting. Born and raised in the lab-place. *shrugs*
OTHER: N/A

((I'll read, then post, kay?))

Matrix stopped and rested the hand on the steel. Pretending she did not hear Raj, she furled the wing over her against her back to glare at the animal with her yellow eyes. Then she trained her eyes on something else as she covered herself with one of her wings. Now she was only vaguely paying attention to the conversation.

Fang seemed to let out a funny sound that Fiachra hadn't heard before. Though strange, she could tell it wasn't a frightening sound, it seemed to cut tension. "What's a cow?" Fiachra questioned. All these new words, named of things she knew not to exist, it was all rather ridiculous and odd. Yet strangely... nice in a way. Then talk of these Great Plains sprung up. This Raj, whoever he was, Fiachra couldn't quite see him from the position she was in. She shifted slightly to see who or what was speaking.

Raj appeared to be an animal of sorts. She didn't quite know what animal, she hadn't seen any like him before. He was a pretty one, that she was sure of. Raj was talking about how large these Great Plains were. It sounded wonderfull. Fiachra thought she could sit through an eternity just listening to talk of the outside and N.Y.C and Hot Dogs. Funny name though, Hot Dogs. If they were made of Cow, whatever that was, shouldn't they be called Hot Cow? According to Fang these Hot Dogs were amazing. She'd never heard anyone talk like that before, not that she usually listened to talk. Before now all talk was normaly spluttered from an experiment that had gone crazy. No one wanted to listen to that.

Fiachra had seemed to brighten up a bit now. She didn't feel as frightened as she origionally had. All feelings of doubt and hurt seemed forgotten for the time being. She was still holding onto the bars of her cage, it was a rather comfortable position. Fiachra then folded her wings behind her, keeping them tucked close to her body. The white of her skin, hair and the white in her wings stood out in the darkness. It was probaly the only thing that really stood out about her in the darkness.

"A cow?" Fang laughed a bit more, then moved to get a better look at Fiachra. "Well, a cow is a four-legged, rather stupid animal with horns and hooves. It eats gras.s...and we eat it. Um, then it's called beef. And they give us milk, too." He found it rather hard to explain what a cow was; this opened his mental door to how little these poor experiments knew.

Nylat had been laying in her cage, only a few away from the new arrivals'. The fox hybrid had been trying to sleep, but with all of the talking, it had been hard. So now she stood up, and glanced through the bars of the cage, to look at Fang.

"So, Fang, you've escped here, and are going to try again, hm? I've tried once. But those Erasers, they almost had fox hybrid for dinner. It's a tough thing to do, even once. Why push your luck?"

Her voice was raspy, like that of a fox, but she growled slightly when she spoke, making her words very hard to understnad. She sat, curling her tail so that it rested on her hind right foot, and kept her calm blue gaze on the raven-human. His dark appearance was very odd to Nylat, who had been raised among a bunch of white-coated scientists.

"I got it up to stupid... but gr*censored*?" Fiachra was about to ask Fang to explain what gr*censored* was. But he'd probably had enough of explaining things by now. Plus another experiment had decided to speak up. It seemed that this day had not only brought Fang and Raj but also some new hope. All this talk of the outside and strange animals. Fiachra thought it was changing the atmosphere in the school. The dull silence and depression seemed to have been cleared from the air and to fill its place were feelings of hope and a new sound that Fiachra had guessed was probably laughter. She'd heard of it before but hadn't heard it untill now.

Having these thoguht run through her head she suddenly realised she hadn't introduced herself to Fang. She felt it strange that she should know his name while he did not know her own. "Eh., by the way." Fiachra becan steadily. "My name is Nia. Nia Fiachra. The scientists call me by my second name so that's what everyone knows me as. Call me which ever you like." She smiled st Fang. Then tried to make out everyone else, Dravius was easiest to make out because of his white wings, which weren't so white at the given moment in time. She quickly looked to everyone else, knowing that this was the first time she had mentioned her whole name. "The same applies for everyone else." Fiachra told them with a smile. Maybe now someone would finally call her Nia.

((OOC: Thanks you guys. ~~; *falls over* I leave for two hours, and this is what I get! D: *gets to posting*))

BIC: Angel could sense Max's anger rising--man, it was like she could feel the heat radiating off of the elder girl in terms of how figuratively strong her feelings were. She was almost intimidated by it, but managed to shrug it off as she nodded and let the elder flock member have some space.

After a moment, however... "But Max, what about Iggy? And Gazzy and Nudge? Are they going to come with us too?" The young blonde mind-reader asked quietly, shifting on her feet as she bit her lip again. This was probably going to be the worst mission they faced in a while. And she...she was a little scared at the thought of it.

"Eh, I've busted outta this joint three times already. It shouldn't be too hard to do it a fourth time...but I may need your help." Fang said casually to the new experiment who was talking to him. He was playing casual, but was uncertain if he would even be able to escape his cage - Jeb would surely have heightened security now that he was in custody...

He flinched when Fiachra brought up gras.s. "You-...don't know what gras.s is?" He asked slowly, a light, disbelieving chuckle in his voice. "And of course, Nia. It's my pleasure." The raven bowed as best he could in his cage.

Dravius listened quietly to Fang;s explanations, looking at the floor and chewing on a finger. All these things tha the teenaged expirements had never seen, things that normal children knew ten times over. After pulling an especially large peice of skin off his pinkie, Dravius looked up as Fang said he would need help. "Um, I know how to pick locks." He said quietly, hugging his arms. "I would like to leave as well." He added, looking hopefully at Fang, Skai and Nia. "Gras.s is green plants that grow out of the ground that animals eat." He offered to Nia. "Oh. And I'm Dravius." He stated, retreating into his wings, as if scared that one of his peers were to strike him for speaking.

"But how can animals stand to eat it then? That green stuff called gra-ss?" Matrix asked suddenly, rolling onto her stomach. Her hands were near the edge of the cage with the talons hanging over it slightly. Confusion showed in her yellow eyes as she glanced at Dravius. "And my name is Matrix Void," she added softly.

Nylat nodded. As far as she knew, it had been heightened. Not just because he was here again. She herself was to blame for a main part of it. "Ah, so testing fate, huh?" She grinned, her slightly long fangs gleaming. "I'm in." She looked away for a second, then decided to share what she knew. It wouldn't hurt anyone. Except the scientists. Maybe. "It is stronger security. Especially since I always seem to escape. I don't even know how. it's just...one second I'm in the cage, the next, I'm out and their locking me up in a new one..."

She laid back down in her cage. After sixteen years of growing up here, she knew the scientists action by heart, it seemed. She could somewhat anticipate their actions. Humans are so predictable. She laughed to herself at this thought, a raspy hiss-like sound. She looked up again, a new hope filling her eyes. "I'm Nylat, by the way."

"I don't know." Dravius answered, his vioce issuing from behind a curtain of feathers. "How can people stand to eat Hot Dogs?" He returned, his shape shielded from view behind the wall made by his wings. It covered him on three sides, and since his cage was against the wall, he didn't need any more protection than that. He coughed slightly and a rustling sound ensued as he tried unsucessfully to fit his feet inside the feathers, so he left them out, a pair of shoes protruding from a pile of feathers.
