Soulstar glanced around happily as her kit's sightless eyes glimmered with joy. Watching the other apprentices she sighed. "I wish I were an apprentice once more, basking in the care and concern of my mentor."

Willowleaf now looked at Coalpaw. "Let's go get some fresh-kill and a little break before resuming training again, okay?" she suggested.

[[Psh, Willowleaf is jealous xD ]] 

[[Then perhaps we should practice battle-training... no wait.... nevermind x.x]]

"A cow?" Coalpaw exclaimed, getting up and giving his fur a quick shake. "I'll bet I can bring down a cow faster than you!" Coalpaw paused for a moment, then thought that he was acting like a kit. He then shrugged. 'This is fun!' He thought. Coalpaw turned around when he heard Willowleaf. "Willowleaf! Where were you? Sunflare said he could take me hunting with Bluepaw! Can I go, please?" He begged.

Sunflare watched Coalpaw get on his belly to grovel and plead. He padded up to Willowleaf. "Apprentices." He said, but he chuckled good-naturedly. "I think it would be nice to as-sess these two and see their hunting skills. What do you think, Willowleaf?"

Sunflare laughed at the eagerness in his apprentice's actions. "Come on, you two." He padded out into the forest. "Now, you two have probably learned all of the hunting moves, correct?" Sunflare was sure that Bluepaw had a clear image of each stalking technique, and Coalpaw nodded in silent agreement. "Coalpaw. Go scout near the tree." Sunflare flicked his tail in the direction of a large oak.

Coalpaw followed the deputy. When he was called to investigate the oak, Coalpaw nodded obediently and quietly made his way to the tree, careful to not snap any twigs or crackle any dry leaves. His ears picked up the scuffling of a mouse. Coalpaw's eyes quickly focused onto the familiar brown shape, just underneath a leaf that lay near the tree. He narrowed his eyes and dropped into a hunting crouch, slowly weaving through leaves and twigs. He was about a tail-length from the mouse when Coalpaw pounced, using his sharp claws to cut the throat of the little creature. He proudly lifted up his catch, hoping that it impressed Sunflare.
