◤Introduction◥
In the year 2045, an undercover organization, codename Calamity, discovered a new type of matter that had only then recently manifested on the planet Earth. This matter was pure, untouched, and for the longest time, untouchable. Calamity sought to keep the matter a secret, wanting to uncover its power and potential for themselves. They fortified walls around this matter and set to running diagnostics on it. It wasn’t long before its existence was leaked; hunger settled deep in the high powers across the world. Calamity was captured, but not before all information on the matter was destroyed.
The matter itself, when searched for through the wreckage, had disappeared.
The Third World War broke out in the year 2047. Countries toppled, cities were reduced to rubble, and millions died. A year of anarchy came forth and eventually the human race fell into a dystopian society. Technology became a dependency for the human race; upgraded humans, cyborgs, and hackers became the norm. Survival of the fittest at its finest.
Ten years had passed since Calamity was destroyed. Violetta Burns, daughter of the most infamous hacker in the world, stumbled upon her father’s deadly secret: a microchip which contained a string of data, similar to DNA, of the lost matter. She sucked all information she could from the data and was able to find traces of the matter still left in the world, found that it had gone into hiding after Calamity was destroyed.
Violetta, however, was not the only one to find the matter once again. An opposing force seeks to harness the matter’s energy for themselves and use it to control the human race. There are two sides to this game. Which one will you play?

The Quintessence contains the power to control human thoughts, memory, and cognitive process. Similar to hacking technology, The Quintessence overrides natural brainwave functions and gives control over to the user. Matter from the Quintessence may be dissected at certain access points. All data and all power has not yet been extracted from the Quintessence. Neutral access points are slowly being taken over by two forces: Calamity and Resistance.

Calamity is the organization seeking to learn the Quintessence's origins and why it has manifested on the planet Earth. They seek to harness its power to restore the balance of mankind and rebuild the world. Calamity is under the control of Violetta Burns and has many subsequent leaders networked all over the world in small factions. Each faction is equipped with the following: one captain, one second-in-command, one hacker, and one protector. The small numbers in each faction increase swiftness of missions, decrease use in supplies, and have the advantage of a single, strong unit.

The Resistance has slowly grown in numbers over the years. Power shifts quickly among the group, though little is known of what has happened to previous leaders. As of the present, the leader is a man who goes by Bane. Little intel has been gathered on the inner workings of the Resistance, but their force contains high-level technology and ruthless warriors.

◤Rules◥
1. Players can choose to play on three sides: Calamity, Resistance, or Freelance.
Calamity players will then choose from the following: Captain, Second-in-Command, Hacker, or Protector. Hackers are equipped with MatterDecks, which allow them to hack into Quintessence Access points. Each Hacker may also have personal items that are weapons, personal decks, etc. Protectors are essentially the bodyguards, the warriors of each faction. They are usually upgraded humans, with either cybernetic modifications to the mind or body.
Resistance players will then choose from the following: Commander, Second, Operator, or Safeguard. The roles of each faction are the same.
Freelance players are hired guns and will do grueling missions for pay. They have no tie with either organization.
2. Players with fully organic brains (have no cybernetic modifications) are unable to be hacked by Hackers. This is an advantage. However, the disadvantages include: being unable to communicate telepathically, require handheld items that must be controlled manually and not by mind, and are typically weaker than other improved humans.
3. Hackers can hack into those with cybernetic modifications. However, for the sake of not GMing, please be lenient here. Players with cybernetic modifications will typically have defenses/wards up against attacks.
4. Players WILL be killed in this war.
5. Multiple characters are encouraged.
6. Romance is allowed.
