Alisha grinned at the other two ogling at the contraption in her hands.
"It's a pokedex. Professor Birch asked me to use it to record all of the pokemon I encounter and catch on my journey." She snapped the device closed and offered the girl, Leanna her hand and a smile. "Name's Alisha." Near her feet, the houndour growled sourly at the riolu and flopped onto his side. Alisha giggled. "And that's Axel."

Someone had bumped into Danny, and this had triggered two reactions; one, Danny had given a yelp of surprise, and two, Juliette had leapt pretty much right out of her skin in fright (not literally, of course). Her Purrloin, Nala, gave a slight mew of protest when Juliette's hold of her tightened a little, and Juliette loosened her grip, whispering an apology as she did so. Danny glared back at the newcomer before shrugging a little.
"Sorry...guess it was my fault." he said, though he didn't sound entirely enthusiastic. His shiny Pichu, Chu Chu, examined the newcomer with curiosity before perching herself on Danny's shoulder. Danny reached up to pet his Pokemon and then decided that he might as well give the stranger his name.
"Well, anyway, the name's Daniel Jackson. But please, call me Danny." he said, flashing a smile. "This is my first Pokemon, Chu Chu. Oh, and this girl's name is Juliette...and her Purrloin, Nala. And before you ask, no, we're not 'together', and no, we're not related." Juliette just nodded. Nala squirmed out of her arms and ran into the bushes, and Juliette yelped and followed. Danny shrugged, completely unconcerned, and waited for the stranger to reply.

Leanna looked at the device curiously. She had never really heard of a pokedex, but she supposed that was because she lived in a cabin out in the forest. She had seen a houndour like this one before. They were smart and agile pokemon and they weren't ones you wanted to mess with. She did know what made them happy though, she had experimented on one of her parents houdour once. She reached out and took the girl's hand.
I believe you already know that this is Midnight and that my name is Leanna. Nice to meet you.
Midnight gave a mischievous grin and turned into a human girl, shaking the other girls hand. Leanna just sighed and stepped back. She didn't know how her sanity would stay in tact during their journey.

"My name is Nagista! and this is Riolu!" Nagista said giving Alisha a little peace sign. "I'm a new trainer!" She looked down at Axel and reached down to pet him. "You've got a cute one." she smiled.
"So Alisha, were are you headed?"

It wasn't long before Ulysses noticed a girl running through the trees chasing after a Purrloin. He cocked his head slightly, then looked down at Heatwave before he ventured forward. "Excuse me, miss, but...why are you chasing after that Purrloin?" he asked curiously, Heatwave squirming in his arms to twist around and stare at the girl with his mismatched red and blue eyes. The shiny Charmander tilted his head slightly, letting out a soft puff of blue fire before leaning back against his Trainer, blue-flame-tipped tail curling itself around him. The fire Pokemon soon turned his head to watch the Purrloin instead, seeming rather eager to get down so he could finally have a good battle.

While Danny was still with the one who had bumped into him, Juliette had finally caught up with Nala. She skidded to a halt, however, when another stranger asked her what she was doing chasing a Purrloin. Shy Juliette took a moment before managing to give her reply.
"Um...she's my first Pokemon..." she began, hesitantly. "Her name's Nala...she just ran off all of a sudden..." Nala walked back to Juliette then and looked up at her; she looked vaguely amused, as if she had been avoiding the chase.
"I'm new to being a trainer, you...you see..." Juliette stammered, smiling a little nervously. Nala looked at the newcomer and then adopted a cheeky feminine pose, with a sly wink to go with it. Juliette picked her Pokemon up into her arms, and the little Purrloin responded by sticking her tongue out at the stranger and their Pokemon.
"Don't do that, Nala, it's not nice..." Juliette whispered to her Pokemon. Nala purred a little, looking faintly smug.

Alisha stooped to pick up the houndour, rubbing her nose against his affectionately. His stubby tail twitched and he snuggled closer against her, yawning.
The girl thought about the question. Where was she going?
"I suppose I'll be heading on to the gyms and earning badges. I don't know if I'll make it all the way to the Pokemon League, or the Champion, but I'm going to try." She said with plain determination etched across her features.

Really? We have always dreamed of making it to gyms and training. Today is our first day journeying, but would you like to battle? You would be the first trainer we have, not just one of our wild pokemon friends.
Her eyes looked at the girl eagerly. She had always wanted to have a battle with a full fledged trainer. They had been able to practice on wild pokemon back home, but never a real, live trainer. Midnight looked up pleadingly from Leanna's shoulder at Alisha, her big eyes seeming to take up the entire forest.

"Me too!" Nagista jumped in glee. "My dream is to become strong enough to beat my brother. Hes in the Pokemon league." She thought about the day her dream would come true. She would be a legend. "I would also like to catch a Legendary on the way. Just one."

The little houndour gave a little half growl, half sigh and jumped down, shaking the sleep off and replacing his weary ex[injection]pression with one of determination. He'd win this battle, for sure. Alisha's grin returned to her lips, and she nodded.
"I'd love to battle!"

A wide smile ran across Leanna's face.
That's awesome! I know the perfect place too, I have seen people battle there.
She ran in between trees, Midnight on her shoulder. She wove her way through, making sure that she left a clear trail so they could follow her. Midnight jumped off and ran in front of her until they came into a large rocky clearing.
It was a perfect place to battle. there was a large rectangle of grass on the ground and surrounding it was cliffs that would keep attacks from hurting any of the surrounding forests.
I was thinking Midnight and I would battle with you first.
