Lust turned back around, Looking at the shard. He was tempted to mess with it, or put it somewhere so that when she came back, she'd be in trouble. Giving in to temptation, he went back and grabbed the shard, went to the nearest tree, and began to climb up it. Once he was pretty high up it, he stuck the shard in a crevice in the bark.

With one wing out of commisions the most he could do was slow the crash if he tried to jump out of the tree. And he wasn't really that could at climbing down trees. He huffed. This was a stupid idea.
