It was always the same, every day in that godforsaken lab. Molly levered herself up with one arm, stiff from sleep. She yawned widely, showing pointed teeth, then stood to stretch her legs and wings. That's right, wings. Since she was in her tank-top, her gold-flecked Golden Eagle wings were given some free space, and she extended them outwards in their full 18-foot glory. With another, smaller yawn, she knocked on the plastic bars of her cage. They couldn't make her cage metal because of her ability to shape and move it. Because of course, they couldn't let her escape. "Hey, could I have some outside time? My wings are stiff." Molly called. Her voice echoed slightly in the large, square room before fading. There were other captives like her behind bars, though most were still asleep. It didn't matter. Molly woke them up early almost every day, so they were used to it by then. By then. Everyone in that room had been their for all their lives. Born, then taken by doctors and pronounced dead to the parents. After that, grafted with a DNA that was not human. Molly felt the familiar spark of anger in her chest when she thought it. After all, keeping someone in a cold cage for the better part of sixteen years was not something that gained her trust and support. Molly sighed and waited for an answer.

Dravius walked through the halls of the lab, occasionally kicking a cage, rocking it and making the failure inside cry out. He sneered with disgust. Failures. He was better than them, ruined limbs twisted onto hopeless bodies. He looked away, licking his lips. He was even better than the other bird kids, because he had two sets of wings, instead of one. When Dravius camwe upon Molly's cage, he bent his nearly six-and-a-half foot frame to stick his tounge out at her. His tounge was a mutation, jet black and nearly eight inches long. He smiled wickedly and laughed, "Enjoying our breakfast? It was a shame you missed the buffet earlier, it's always such a treat." He snickered, standing up and stretching his wings to their nearly 18 foot span. "Besides that, sweetheart, how are you?" He asked, tilting his head, mismatched eyes glinting in the half-light.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

Molly smirked. "Aside from the lack of food, cold plastic cage and sore wings, I think I'm doing quite well, thanks for asking." She replied, kneeling on the floor of her cage. She tapped her chin. "Do you think you could bust me out of here? I want a bit of space to stretch my wings." Since her little stunt the previous week, where she had thrown and bendt metal objects everywhere, essentially ruining a whole lab section, none of the staff there had trusted her enough to let her out for anything more than bathroom breaks. It was worth it, though. Molly thought, fondly remembering the chaos. She blinked at Dravius, staring into his oddly coloured eyes with her dark ones, tilting her head to the side. "If you get me out of here you could join me in flight. How about it?"
