Mordekai heard the noise and hissed, leaping out of his father's hands to shoot further into the village, entering the hut through a window. Quickly shifting to human form, he moved protectively in front of his friend, emitting a low growl. "Don't hurt him!" he snarled, his fur fluffing out as his tail lashed at the air.
Endraen stalked silently towards the hut, melting into the shadows, ready to swoop in and rescue both children.

Cody looked up suddenly at his friend, he'd never imagined that he would be in his home. Ever. He sniffed, he didn't realize that he had been crying until just now and reached up to wipe his eyes. Cody's father repelled, backing up quite a bit and back into the wall behind him, horrified that mordekai had fallowed him and Cody back home. Cody took this opportunity to call to Mordekai, "What're you doing here?" He asked. Cody's father wasn't paying attention to Cody anymore, but Mordekai. "W-what are you?!" He exclaimed, looking at Mordekai's tail and ears. "Shoo!! Go back to wherever you came from!!" He exclaimed.

"I'm Cody's friend! And I'm not going to let you hurt him any more!" cried Mordekai. He turned to look at his friend, smiling softly. "I came to protect you. You're my best friend, after all,' he purred, moving to give the human child a hug, occasionally glancing back at Cody's dad. He hissed at the human adult, ears pulling back.

Cody hugged his friend back, closing his eyes and not looking at his daddy, sniffling a little bit. He hoped that his daddy wouldn't get his courage and hit them both with something. He'd rather Mordekai not get hit at all, he didn't do anything wrong to daddy. "Thanks..." He replied sullenly. His pride was a little sore now that Mordekai had seen him cry but thats ok. Mordekai was different from the kids in the village. Well, he felt different anyways.

Mordekai licked away the other's tears, then reached out to take his friend's hand. "Cody, I think you should live with me, my mommy, and my daddy. You'll be safer," he said, tilting his head slightly. "How long has your daddy been doing this?" he demanded, tail bristling again. He wanted so badly to just...claw his face off! |

Cody frowned, "Since mommy died." He replied simply. Yeah, he knew that his mom didn't just go to sleep. He was old enough now. But he liked to think of it as sleeping. He took his friend's hand and stood up. [fail]

Mordekai's eyes narrowed, a soft growl coming from him before he went to lead his friend outside, away from the evil human. Endraen slipped soundlessly into the hut once the kids were outside, his ears pulling back. "You're more of a demon than my son will ever be," he stated. "Children are beings of innocence, and should be treated like they matter, because they do."

Cody followed Mordekai outside of the hut and out into the village. He was afraid someone would see Mordekai and try to hurt him, but no one was around or seemed to be paying attention so he could relax momentarily. ".... You sure I should live with you...?" He asked quietly, uncharacteristically uncertain. Cody's father looked like he might have a stroke. All of these 'demons' running around and all.

Mordekai nodded, smiling warmlu. "My mommy's human, and if you live with us, you gain the protection of a family of tigers," he said happily. "But, you might not be able to come back...so if you have anything you really need or want in your hut, I can go get it."
Endraen tolled his eyes, hroaning before he simply walked out, moving in front of the children with a smile. "You must be Cody. It's a pleasure to finally meet you," he purred, his tail swaying happily back and forth.

Cody nodded, "I don't have anything..." He replied. nothing that he really needed that was. A family? Of tigers. that sounded very cool to the ten year old. He liked animal, especially cats. So Tigers were a plus. Giant cats. He stopped when Endraen got in front of him and Mordekai and looked up at him. "I-i'm Cody." He responded. "Nice to meet you~ Are you Mordekai's... daddy?" He asked curiously.

Endraen nodded, then chuckled a bit. "And please don't be surprised by Mordekai's mom," he purred, tilting his head. "We're an...odd family to say rhe least. He rubbed the back of his neck, ears twitching as he flicked his tail.

Cody nodded, not noticing that he stepped a little closer to Mordekai when he did. He didn't know what he meant by that, how would Mordekai's mom surprise him? He said that she was human, maybe that what his daddy meant. A human in a family of tigers might be odd. [more fail? o3o Aiden is gonna be: o.O~? Did you steal him? XD LOL]

Endraen nodded and moved to lead his son and Cody back into the trees. Mordekai looked at Cody and grinned happily, moving to curl his tail around the older child, very happy knowing he'd be safe from now on.

Cody followed after Mordekai's dad, making sure to stay close to his younger friend. He was excited to see where Mordekai lived and wondered if his whole family looked like him and his daddy, or if they looked like real tigers. [sorry, so much fail );]

They soon came upon the camp where they lived, and when Mordekai saw Aiden, he lit up and ran over, shifting into his kitty form mid-stride to leap into his arms. "Mommy! I brought my friend to live with s!" he meowed happily, moving to look back at Cody, tail waving happily.

Aiden barely had time to turn around to answer his son, let alone open his arms to catch him but he managed with barely a stumble backwards. "You're getting a little too big to do this, Mordekai." He said affectionately, referring to flying through the air and expecting to be caught every time. next time Aiden might not be paying attention or he might fall, he had limited human strength. He looked up in the direction that Mordekai was looking, at first he only saw Endraen coming towards them. But he soon spotted the blonde head of Cody. he looked the boy over quickly, growing tension and his gaze shifted to Endraen and back again. He knew that something must be wrong for Endraen to bring a strange child home. - Cody was still walked behind Endraen as he watched as Mordekai leaped into a man's arms and called him 'mommy'. Thats Modekai's mom? He couldn't help but frown at the thought. But Endraen had told him not to be surprised. Well... he couldn't help being surprised so he tried to look like he wasn't. He did see the look on Mordekai's mom's face and felt dread in his stomach. He was starting to get a little excited about living with Mordekai and he hadn't thought about what his parents were going to say about it. I'm not going to be able to stay... He thought sullenly.

"Mommy, Cody's daddy has been hurting him,so I said he could stay with us. He can, right?" he said, tail waving happily as he pricked his ears. He looked at him pleadingly, tilting his head slightly. "His daddy is really mean."
Endraen curled his clawed fingers gently around Cody's hand as tigers began to appear, smiling as that year's cubs came to investigate. He grinned when the tigers born juet before his son was born showed up, tail waving. "This child is not to be harmed. He is family now," he said, reaching out to place his hand atop one of the tigers' heads, tail waving lightly back and forth.

Aiden knew he didn't really have any say in this situation since he was only a human that Endraen's family had adopted. So he didn't say anything at all. But he was worried, his face showed it though he hid it well. Worried that Cody's father would tell the others and the tigers might just have a war brought in from kidnapping a child from the village. But he smiled at his son rea$suringly anyway before he set him down gently. === Cody gripped Endraen's hand when it was offered to him, nervous about so many big animals coming at him. But he was also excited, cats were his favorite animals and these just happened to be giant cats.
