OoC:// Me too. Or atleast god-mod. D: I did a lot of that when I was a n00by rper. BiC:// Drakine's eyes narrowed as her sword cut through the air, missing Drake by centimeters. She readjust her stance and put her sword as a guard as she moved to get into a better attacking position. Just then, the back of her foot caught on something and was down; landing on her back and getting herself winded. Black eyes widened slightly as she struggled to regain her breath.

Ooc; I power-played like there was no tomorrow. |D I should see if I can find my first role-play here xD He felt his foot connect and Drake pushed himself off the floor with his hands and quickly approached her. While she was winded, he kicked the hilt of her sword from her hands and held his own at her throat with a grin on his face. "Do you remember the terms of our agreement?" he asked, an even broader smile curving at his lips, smug as he looked down at her.

OoC:// XD BiC:// Drakine's eyes narrowed and she stiffened slightly as she felt the cold steel of his raptor sword against her throat. She was... defeated. With a sigh, she closed her eyes and forced her body to relax before nodding once; not wanting to speak her answer.

He pulled his blade away from her throat and pointe it at his brother who had attempted to approach silently behind them. "Get," he said as if to push aside a dog. He flicked the sword toward the door and Storm followed orders, surprisingly. "The puppy's learning," he said as he threw his sword onto the ground a few feet away from them. "Well," he said as he clasped his hands together. "I'm not going to force you to go on a date with me, though that was the deal. I just want to tell you that you can give me a chance," he said with a shrug and stood from his crouched position. He stretched his hand down in an offer to help her up.

Drakine let out a breath she did not she had been holding after Drake pulled the blade away from her throat. She raised on hand to her throat and gently messaged it, easing the faint pressure of the steel blade away. She listened to what Drake had to say about the terms of the deal. When he offered her his hand to help her up, she grabbed it like the good sport she was and used it to pull herself up. Though once she was on her feet, she let go and moved over to her katana. She picked it up by the blade and held it gently in her hand. Then, she moved back to Drake. Drakine tapped the pommel of the katana on his chest a few times as she said, "I'll give you a singular chance. One. And if you screw it up; I get to find out what charbroiled phoenix tastes like." Stepping around him, she moved back to where she had removed the katana from the wall and replaced it.

"That's all I'm asking for," he said calmly as she moved to place the blade back on the wall. He went to pick his own up and stretched to place it back up on the rungs where it came from. When he turned back to her, his brows shot up as an idea struck him. "You know this place has a library," he said as he pushed his hands into his pockets, not really phrasing it as a question. "Let's head over there. I'll show you something you might like," he continued.

Drakine turned her head so she could look at him. A brow raised as she crossed her arms against her chest. "Is that a request or a demand?" she asked. [[ Short post is fail post... ]]

Drake only shrugged and began to walk out of the gym. He saw the mess of his brother's black hair disappearing down the hallway and Drake snorted. He waited by the frame of the door to the gym, glancing over his shoulder to Drakine to stare at her for a moment. He continued down the hallway, hands in his pockets, and hoping she would follow.

Drakine scowled at his shrug and watched him walk out of the gym. When he was out of her sight, she cocked her head as slight curiosity got the better of her before she followed Drake. [[ -fail- I be distracted... ]]

Ooc; It's fine. There's not much for her to do anyway. xD Bic; A smile tugged at Drake's lips as he heard Drakine's footsteps behind him. He continued through the halls until he reached the school library, but it wasn't the library he wanted. When he had first come to the school and he had been nearly as adventurous as Storm, the brothers found another library hidden beneath this one. The scrolls and ancient books they had found below had been transfixing, and the pair had already read them all. He hoped Drakine would enjoy the secrets of the scrolls. When he reached the library, he headed toward the back where the history section was. When he reached it, he scanned the shelves and rows of books. Tales of the Land caught his eye and he pulled the book from its shelf. He slid his fingers into the newly made hole and pressed a switch in the back. The bookshelf shuddered before sliding into the wall and then moving to the left. Stairs appeared beneath him and he tucked the book under his arms. --assuming she's there-- Drake looked back at Drakine and grinned before winding down the steps.

Drakine hesitated as she followed Drake into the library. She had to be in her more than a hundred times during the long years she lived at the school and had read almost every book in here out of boredom. But when she heard something shudder and grind against the floor, she snapped her head to where Drake was and her jaw nearly dropped as she saw the hidden staircase that led down. Drake had already disappeared down the steps as Drakine grew closer to it. Sniffing slightly with her other senses, she could tell that whatever was down there was old. Like... ancient old. Letting her senses return back to human, she followed Drake down the staircase.

The comforting smell of must and dusted book pages met Drake's nose the deeper he went down the stairwell. Finally, he reached the bottom. The dim stairs opened up into a small, cozy room that was unlit for the moment. Drake grabbed the match box where he and his brother always left it on the desk and he lit some candles. The flames flickered with soft crackles and Drake moved a few of the parchment pieces away from the flame, his gentle fingers gingerly handling the scrolls. He cared about the books, but he trusted Drakine to take good care of them. He fingered a few of his favorites which were laid out already; Spells for the Calming of the Mind and Dragon and Mythic Lore. "This stuff has been here forever. I found it during my first few weeks here," Drake said as he ran his fingers across the desk that was wedged into the corner of the room. Two chairs were set against more bookshelves and he sat in one. "Like?" he asked softly.

Drakine stopped at the bottom of the staircase and glanced around, taking in the ancient scrolls and books in the must-and-dust-smelling room. She heard Drake mention that he found it during his first week here and she frowned. "In all my years of being here, I never found this," she said as she moved to a bookshelf and gently ran her fingers over the spines of the books that lined one of the shelves. Hearing his soft question, she replied with an equally soft, "Yea," that also sounded slightly distracted as she continued looking at the shelves.

Drake smiled a smug smile to himself as he watched Drakine look through the shelves. He got up from the chair and stood next to her, hands scanning the array of books and scrolls. "We don't take anything from the room, to preserve the pieces and we think it keeps the magic of this place," he said as he looked up to glance at the heavier books at the top of the shelves. "Most of these are handwritten, too," he said with a chuckle. "Try this," he encouraged as he pulled out the Dragon and Mythic Lore. He held it out to her with a gentle smile.

Drakine's black eyes flicked to the book in his hands and she gently took it in her own before moving off to the desk in the room. She also moved on of the chairs so she could sit and read at said desk. Plopping down in the chair, she gently opened the cover to the first page and began to read.

Drake grabbed a nearby scroll without needing to glance at the ti tle. He sat down in the chair across from Drakine and stretched out the withered parchment. he sc ript was nearly illegible after so many times of unfolding and folding it, but he knew enough of what it said to have it make sense. After more than a few minutes, Drake's gaze flickered up to Drakine. He removed himself from his reading position once he realized he had started it; his elbow was on the arm of the chair and his thumb was placed just under his chin. He blinked, the sc ript on the scroll still swimming before his eyes. "So how am I doing with the whole first chance thing?" he asked with a lopsided grin.

Drakine had read several dozen pages in the book Drake had given her to read when she heard him speak. Her head cocked to one side, but her eyes never leaving the page she was working on. "Not screwed up as of yet," Drakine said as a small smirk curved her lips. Her black eyes flicked off the page long enough to meet Drake's eyes before they settled back on the yellowing paper.

Drake contented himself with what she said and attempted to return back to his own read. The words didn't very well meet his eyes, Drake's gaze constantly flickering upward to look at her face. Giving up on reading something he knew all the words to, he rolled the scroll up again and went to put it back into its place. He searched amongst the shelves, itching to do something with his hands, and to keep himself away from Drakine. The room seemed even smaller with her in it, but that was probably Drake wanting to get close to her. He moved from the section of scrolls to some of the different finds in the room. He squatted down and flipped open the long-broken-lock on a medium-sized traveling trunk. Dust made him sneeze as he opened the lid and his eyes grew glassy as he peered into it. There were different, ancient weapons and gadgets from the medievel times. He looked for something in particular, clicking his tongue once when he fingered the silver chain of a necklace. He stuffed that in his pocket and figured he'd give it to Drakine later, if he didn't screw this up, that is.

Drakine looked up from the ancient text when she heard a sneeze. Her black eyes blinked and she turned to look at Drake, who was crouched over an old trunk. Tilting her head to one side, she said, "Bless you," indicating to the sneeze. Even Drakine had manners when she wanted to use them.

"Thanks," he said as he rubbed his nose to stop the tingling of another sneeze coming along. He snapped the lid of the trunk and walked back over to Drakine, only needed to have walked a few steps to actually get over to her. He peered over her shoulder and wasn't surprised to see how far of the reading she had gotten into. As much as he didn't want to leave, it was getting late, and he honestly didn't know how much longer he could go in the small room with her without making a move on the girl. "Ready to head out?" he asked through a yawn. "Time passes quickly down here, doesn't it?" he said with a smile.
