"We are heading... to the forest altar." Her voice was quiet - she still wasnt sure if they were far enough from others. "It is hidden deep in the forest, but the town has been cutting back at the edges, so it is not too far any more." She carefully picked her way over a log, and adjusted her backpack. "I cannot tell you any more, but you will see when we get there." ((Another short post is again short. We'll get there next post, probs.))

Dravius opened his eyes and said, "Alright." He nudged Torak, and gave him a look that can only be described as an outright order. Whining, Torak walked behind Rilia and barked, wagging his tail and tugging on her dress. He jumped in front of her and barked again, then pranced ahead, sniffing trees and rocks, yelping as he discovered the properies if fire ants. Yelping, he ran to Lior and madly rubbed his face against Lior's clothes, then jumped up on him, front paws balanced on his chest. ((Post ish Phail.))

Lior was too deep in thought about the forest altar Rilia spoke of to notice the look that Dravius gave Torak. He had never heard such a place existing before, and began to wonder if Rilia took care of this altar until he heard a sudden bark. He looked up and saw the dark wolf tug on her dress and then run ahead of the group, much like a puppy playing. He also heard him whine as he pulled his head out from the brush with little red ants about his face. Lior stepped back and watch with an anxious look on his face as Torak ran up to him and began to rub the fire ants on his boots and pants. Before he could reach down and wipe the evil, stinging things off his clothes, the wolf playfully jumped on him. Trying not to knock Torak over with along with him, Lior despartely tried to swat the fire ants off of his pants. ((Lol, ants in his pants. XDD))

(( D; Sorry about that. ))
Molly kept silent throughout most of their journey. She simply placed one foot after another onto the sodden leaves that covered the forest floor, carefully memorizing their route. Should she need to get out at some point, she would. If you accept to continue into the forest with me, you must realize that there's no turning back. No second chance.
Molly's eyes narrowed as the words Rilia had spoken sprang into her mind. She had made a promise to continue, even if it should cost it her life. But if I'm so important, wouldn't it be better to run and live than fight and die? Molly snorted softly to herself. Run from what? There's nothing out here, Molly, just some creepy trees and an old altar that we're heading to. Breathe, relax. She decided to ignore the original question.
Molly perked up suddenly, moving her hair aside to clear her vision. A solemn form stood, immobile, further on. "I think we found the altar." She announced, speaking for the first time since they had entered the wood together. "No turning back." Molly murmured to herself. She straightened and walked towards the altar.

((Gack, sorry for the wait.)) Slightly irked that she was not the first to spot the altar, Rilia sped up her pace heading towards the vine-covered stones. They stood in a small clearing, a central stone shaped like a table surrounded by three tall pillars. Their dark granite surfaces were lit by dappled moonlight filtering through the trees, throwing the rough surfaces into sharp relief. Rilia stopped by the table and brushed her hands across it, closing her eyes. We are ready. Her eyes flicked open, and her face broke into a smile. Quickly, but carefully, she slipped the bag off her back and pulled it into her arms. Opening the bag, she carefully pulled out three rounded objects and placed them on the table. The first was dark green, with with earthy brown flecks spaced across its surface. As Rilia placed it on the table facing one of the pillars, the moss and vines covering the surface seemed to curl themselves up the sides and cushion it. If one were to touch it, it was cool, with a slightly scaly surface that almost pulsed with life. The second was a cool blue-green, with swirls of watery shades covering its surface. It was cool to the touch, and if one was to get close enough, it made a small sound not unlike a river or the sea. Once it was placed on the mossy rock, a small trickle of water poured off the edge and splashed onto the ground. The final one was a little different. It was bright, and seemed to shine with its own light rather than reflect the recycled light of the moon. It was very warm to the touch, and its reddish-orange surface was adorned with glowing golden patterns. When on the table, it began to float an inch or so above the rock. Rilia smiled mysteriously and stepped back. "Come, say hello," She gestured towards the eggs, and seemed to be asking the others to... speak to them.

Molly stared at the precious objects, transfixed. They were beautiful- more beautiful than she could describe. The red one especially. It seemed to glow with an inner fire of it's own, like red-hot coals, powerful and soothing all at once. It was a moment before she found her tongue. "W-what do you mean?" She asked, tearing her gaze away from them to face Rilia. Molly. The voice echoed inside her briefly, driving out all other thoughts from her mind. Molly's eyes snapped back towards the objects. Her gaze once again settled on the third one. Who are you? She asked it without thinking. There was no reply. Who are you? She repeated, this time closing her eyes. She could hear them- no, feel them pulsing. Each of them had a distinct pattern of their own, like snowflakes had their own designs. Similar yet different. Molly opened her eyes reluctantly. The pulses disappeared and she felt cold. "I-I don't understand, Rilia." Molly said quietly. "What are they?"

"They are the Creatures." A mysterious smile played apon her lips, which, combined with the moonlight on her skin, made her seem somewhat eerie. She turned to look at the three objects on the rock. "They are your creatures. You are the Guardians, chosen by the Creatures to guide and protect them. They have been waiting many years for you..." She gently caressed the closest egg. "We have been waiting many years for you." She turned back and faced the three humans. "Now. Why don't you introduce yourselves to them?" ((It's creepy tiem. 8D))

((Heggo)) Dravius walked up to the ob ject, drawn to thwe first one in line. He brought hs face close to it and reached out his hands, running them over the ob ject, and tracing the scales with his long fingers. As he did this, he had a distant smile upon his face, and his eyes were unfocused, as if he was hearing someone far away talk to him. Breaking ontact with the ob ject, he turned to Rilia and bit his lip, then asked, "What kind of Creatures?" saying this, he retreated from the objects and rubbed the sides of his arms uneasily. His eyes were as hard as rocks, his hands clenched into fists. Torak, too, seemed uneasy, but not of the altar. He cowered behind Molly, crouched to the ground with his ears pinned to his head and tail whipped between his legs. He was whining loudly, and he licked the exposed part of Molly's ankles. Torak then peeled his lips away from his teeth and snarled, a horrible and savage sound that echoed through the forest. Then he started barking, a bark different from a dogs, more fierce, while his white teeth flashed in the shaded forest. Dravius seemed surprised, then lifted his lip, and put it back down again, edging away from the wolf, eyes uncertain and scared. His heel hit a rock, and he fell bakwards, hand landing on the stone to keep himslef crashing to the ground. As soon as he recovered, he jerked his hand away, rubbing them together to get rid of the clammy feeling from the surface of the ob ject.

Lior watched the unexplainable, almost unsettling smile appear on Rilia's face. She seemed now different from the woman who lead them here. These round stones were beautiful; there was no doubt about that. Especially the soft blue one, Lior thought. Its smooth suface shimmered brilliantly in the moonlight as the water trickled out of it seemingly from nowhere. But what were they? He noticed the uneasy tone in Molly's voice as she spoke and watched the unnatural, fierce behavior of Torak as he flashed his teeth. Lior was very uncertain. Had he made the right decision by coming here? Lior went over to Dravius as soon as he heard his body hit the ground. He offered his hand to him while he turned and looked at Rilia over his shoulder. "I don't understand, Rilia. What are these "Creatures," and why have they chosen us? What are we supposed to do?" ((Blech, short post. :S))

"Our Creatures..." Molly whispered, eyes reflecting the warm glow of the egg. She felt Torak nudging at her ankles but ignored him. She felt a strange urge to hold the ob ject, but her mind was telling her not to. For once, she ignored it. Lurching forward, she put her fingers around the egg. Heat seared through her hand and up her arms, encasing her whole body in warmth with an electrical grip. It was the same feeling of hitting your elbow too hard.
She paused for a moment, then leaned forward so that the light shone powerfully onto her face, hair like flames, shadowing the rest of her body. To someone watching her she would seem eerie, even frightening. Molly could hear it's heartbeat. The same one she had noticed back at the clearing before they had entered the forest, and just minutes ago when she had closed her eyes. It was alive. Abruptly, the egg fell from it's spot a few inches above the altar. Molly's eyes widened with surprise as she nearly dropped the now-heavy egg. No longer floating, it had weight all of a sudden, and it's heat seemed to subside slightly.
Molly frowned. "Did... did something just happen?" She asked, confused. Almost subconsciously, she brought the egg close to her chest, cradling it.
