Liz's hand rested back down to her side when someone came out to see her. "Elizabeth Lee, and Nick Craig.", she began matter-of-factly, "Hope to trade medical supplies for fresh food and water, and perhaps a few nights stay, in the van, to think about the next best city for supplies, if our space wouldn't be to much? We're currently northbound."
When she finished the girl flicked her eyes to the dog. "Pretty, nice teeth, strong stature", she started to herself, then louder, "I take it that's the home security system? I don't doubt what she could do to me if I caused any trouble. Anyway, care to look at what we've found? We've got pain killers of all forms, gauze, packing, muscle relaxants, allergy remedies out the wazoo, and some antibiotics that won't last much longer in our little cooler, but could keep for a while in a proper fridge." Hopefully they can use them, we only stole the damn things for trade anyway. It would suck if I had my arm sucked on my Toothless Wonder for fifteen minutes for nothing. --- Nick flinched when he first saw the dog, then chilled again as he saw its obedience. It struck him as interesting the way both women's pets seemed to have frozen in place by the masters for the time being. He'd have imagined Apollo to have at least twitched at the sight of an animal that should be eating him with the way he reacted to walkers, and the dog to have been more curious about the two of them. It wasn't til the end of Liz's little speech he realized that perhaps both did want to do their own thing, simply knew better without being told. He wondered a little what it was like to have a creature be that way with someone.

Sebastian began to open his mouth to reply to her before the woman's dog spilled out onto the floor and bounded over to him. "You're a cute lil' dobie aren't you?" He gushed as a large smile parted his lips as he pet the puppy for the split second she was trying to scramble up his leg. Quickly he stood back up from the kneeling position he'd gone into to pet the hyper pup. "Giving you supplies is not my call, sadly..." He began. "This is not my house, it's our leader's." He continued and cast a slight glance at the narrow hallway that lead past the staircase and into the living room. "Knowing Phoenix, she'll probably say we don't have supplies to just give away... we've got a small group here for the time being... but Phoe's the caring type and will probably take in more if they can prove they'll be useful." He finished before turning around and glancing at the living room again. He paused for a minute as if weighing his options. "I'm going to need you to put all your weapons on the coffee table in the living room... After that I'll take you to go see Phoenix." He said as he turned back around to look at the girl.
||~~~||
"Phoenix Blaise Endellion, owner of this land." She replied to be formal, though she didn't extend her hand in greeting. Her tone was short as her words were clipped and straight to the point. Though she wanted to smile at Liz's comment about Arrow, she kept all sighs of emotion off of her face as she usually did. The only time she genuinely smiled was when things were going according to one of her plans or she was surrounded by her animals... and these two hadn't been around long enough to see either. "Lock up your car. Leave all your weapons in it, then follow me inside. We will talk there." Phoenix replied. Her crystal blue eyes had taken a slightly icy look. Her left hand was placed on her hip while the other dangled by her side. Her red hair fell in delicate waves over her shoulders and down her back, the front framing her face neatly. As she stood there waiting for them to do as she said, she didn't slouch. Her head was held high as it usually was, her posture erect and her eyes never left the two newcomers in front of her. She remained silent for a few moments before finally speaking again. "Whatever you are will to trade, bring it with you." She finally added after what must have felt like an eternity of silence between the three of them.

Rika was a bit surprised the man didnt push Nikki away, but actually went out to pet her snd call her cute. She was also a bit relieved he wasnt mad and sent them away. The guy said that the leader wasnt willing to give away supplies unless Rika could prove herself usefull. She sighed snd put her bag on the coffe table as told so. But she couldnt help but bring her pocket knife with her, just in case. But overthinking what the man said to her made Rika furious. Couldnt the leader just give her some supplies and she would be on her way? Not controlling herself, Rika grabbed her pocket knife and drove it into the wall angrily. She hoped the man didnt hear the sound of wood cracking and Rika growling. If not, good. She then followed the guy down the hall. "So.. hows the leader and life here?" she asked trying to strike up a conversation. As she waited for his response she put Nikki on the ground and her conscious came into play. Ok, this is what you're going to do: Gain this guys trust and everyone elses. Let them think you are on thier side, and when they least expect it. Knock them all out, grab supplies and bail. No no, I dont think that right. After all this person is actually going to ask permission if you could stay and live with them. You cant just betray everyone you meet and leave. Rika wasnt sure who to believe. She was always arguing with herself. She just couldnt decide. Maybe she could just stay, if they let her, and see how it works out. Besides, She looked down at Nikki who was obiediently following her, Being with more people is good for Nikki. There wasnt a decision yet..

Sebastian followed behind her in the direction of the living room. he watched her intently as she put her things on the table. he'd only turned away for a second, but spun back around quickly to see her stabbing the smaller blade into the closest wall. "If that's how you're going to be, leave and don't return. Phoenix won't take kindly to you destroying her house, even if the damage is a whole in the wall. She won't have it, I can promise you that." He said flatly with a shake of his head. Before he could say another word, Jamie came out of the kitchen, his cool blue eyes trained on the unfamiliar woman near his other group member.
"Take her out to see Phoenix before she does any more damage to the house... otherwise it's OUR heads she'll be having once she finds the whole in her wall." He said with a short and clipped tone... which was so uncommon for him, it was bordering on freakish.
Sebastian sighed and nodded before walking to the door.
"LEAVE. THE. POCKET. KNIFE." Jamie added in a stern tone. "If anyone was going to attack you, we'd have done it already. You need not feel threatened here unless you threaten any of us." He finished flatly before going back into the kitchen.
Sebastien stood there silently and waited for her to put her pocket knife down. "To answer your question, life here is good for now... I wouldn't say easy, but in this day and age it's probably the best your going to find." He finally said in response to her attempt to start up a conversation. "As for how our leader is... Well, she's pretty fair, tough... but fair... however, should you be allowed and choose to stay, you'll have to decide that for yourself." He finished as he glanced towards the stable where he saw three distant figures, one of them her recognized as Phoenix due to her hair.

Nick packed up the medicine and bandages with the exception of a few bottles of Tylenol and carried began to follow Phoenix. His eyes moved up and down her body, trying to decide her age, and what she was doing in a place like this. She was a pretty thing, he thought, and didn't seem like the 'country' sort. In any case at least she seemed reasonable, and level headed.
When he glanced back, Liz had the doors locked and was bouncing the little lunch cooler with the chilled meds between shoulders. The rat seemed to be bouncing too. "Stop! That! APOLLO! We don't have enough ice left for you to have one!!! GETOUT!" Nick had to try and stifle his laughter at the pair, and it didn't work completely. Maybe I was wrong about his obedience. At any rate, he couldn't blame the little fellow. When they first got the ice he could take and eat/lick/play with all he wanted, before it started melting. They really shouldn't have spoiled him so much. Nick went back and grabbed the cooler too, and the him and Liz trotted back to Phoenix's tail.
---
Now that Apollo had no access to the ice he sat still on Liz's shoulder till they were just about at the step of the house, where he crawled onto Liz's head to get a better look around. Everything was so new and fresh, he could just run around the whole place! But, what if one of those mean bitey thingys tried to get his mommy? Best stay here and protect her! OOH A DOOR OH MY GOD!!!

((I LOVE Apollo's part of that post. It make me laugh so hard. XD ))
Phoenix watched them for another few seconds of so before turning and heading towards the door. It was a few minute walk between them and the door. Upon nearing the door, Phoenix's eyes caught sight of Sebastian and an unknown girl. "And now someone is in my house?" She said with a growl as her gaze landed on Sebastian.
The boy flinched slightly and shook his head. "She came in through the back... She didn't know anyone was here, so I was bringing her out to meet you." He replied after looking back at her.
Phoenix looked at the coffee table. She'd opened her mouth to speak, but Jamie's voice calling from the kitchen cut her off.
"Breakfast is done. Come eat while it's still hot." Was all he said as he brought the baking pan of Quitche out and set it on the center of the table. He returned to the kitchen for a second and returned back at the table with a plate with a stack of buttered toast on it and set it next to the baking pan. His eyes looked at the three newcomers for a second before returning to the kitchen and getting three more glasses. "Water, orange juice or lemonade?" He asked after returning to the table and setting their glasses down.
"Come... you all must be hungry, or thirsty... we will discuss the items at hand at the table." She said before walking and taking her seat at the head of the table. As she walked across the wooden floor, her black cowboy boots made a low thudding noise with each step. After sitting, she unfolded the cloth napkin and lied it across her lap, the deep burgundy cloth covering the faded grey color of her boot-cut jeans. Her black, seamless, spaghetti-strap tank top clung to her torso and moved neatly with the rest of her.
Sebastian said nothing and headed to the table and took his usual seat towards the far end away from the others
Arrow followed Phoenix inside, her bright amber eyes locked on the girl inside the house. Her fur bristled on end for a second before she sauntered past and plopped herself down on the cushy bed next to the fire place. Still in perfect viewing position, her eyes remained trained on the newcomers, though she didn't show any signs of aggression, she was very wary of them.

Rika sighed and put the pocket knife on the table reluctantly. "OK, ok . And sorry 'bout the wall." She said quietly. Another man came into view , telling this, Sebastian to bring her to Phoinex. Rika supposed that was the group leaders name. Right, 'tough'. Whatever they want to think I guess its fine by me. But the group looks a bit to big to take out by myself. Drat! That's my only choice now. To stay with the damn group. Rika thought bitterly. Another person came in too. Another newcomer? How convienent. Next to the newcomers was who she supposed was the leader. Rika guessed having all her weapons on a coffee table wasn't too great of a first impression. A man asked her and the other two what they would want for breakfast. First time she's heard that in a while. "Um orange juice? Haven't had that for a few months." Yea cause last time you did you ditched your last group along with their stuff. Her consciounce told her. Shut up. She replied. Nikki pawed at Rika's side, saying that she was too hungry. "Um, I'll be back in a few minutes. Mind taking care of Nikki here?" She asked them and she went back to get her katana. Erika then swung the katana over her shoulder and started outside. It felt weird to just leave Nikki there by herself with these stranger who she just met. As she walked out the door Nikki started to cry out loudly. Nikki then whimpered for Rika to come back but she told her to sit and stay until she got back. Rika then headed out into the forest to search for squirrels or other small vermin for Nikki's meal.

Jamie nodded and poured her a glass of Orange juice... it wasn't the best orange juice, one of the frozen kinds actually, but it was still good.
"Jamie, give the pup some of the leftovers you gave Arrow last night." Phoenix said as she put the napkin back on the table beside her plate. Silently she rose to her feet and walked out of the room after the strange girl with the katana. Once she was outside, she looked around for a second and shook her heard. "Stupid girl... she could easily see Arrow... she could have just asked if we have dog food..." She muttered with a growl as her eyebrows knitted together for a second before she turned and headed back inside to take her seat at the table once again.
"You are currently our guests. Please, eat." She said with a polite, but forced, smile before taking a small slab of the egg combination and putting it on her plate.

Rune came riding around shortly before Rika got to far into the forest. "Hey! This is private property, state your name and reason you're here." She said as she steered the solid black mare in front of the other woman. Her voice was cold and unfeeling. the pitch was to low to be female and a bit to high to be male, so her gender wasn't revealed by her speech. She sat tall on the mare, her bow already drawn and stretched between her muscular arms with an arrow pointed at the girl. Her icy blue eyes were locked onto Rika, being this woman was unfamiliar, she didn't bother lowering her weapon in case something should happen she was completely ready for the girl to turn and run. As she waited for an answer, a light gust of wind blew through the trees, causing the assortment of birds, rabbit and squirrels that hung on a rope slung and tired over Rune's shoulder to shift slightly.

Rika gasped as an arrow was pointed right at her head. "Look, ive had this conversation with your buddies back there. Im kinda new and im just headed out to the forest. What do i need a permission slip?" she said sarcastically. Rika then sighed and slowly reached for her katana. In case the person, there was really no telling what gender, thought of it as an offense she first warned her, "Im going to pullout my sword and lay it on the ground kay?" Rika then pulled it out and lay it on the ground as she said. She then put her hands up and wait inpatientlly for the person to surrender her weapon as well.(( sorry its short))

"No need to get snide with me... Simply making sure no one is here that isn't supposed to be. We don't get very many people through here, and when we do, they often try to rob us of what little bit we actually have. As for your comment about a permission slip, no oh smart one. But this isn't your land and I hadn't been in the house all morning, how was I supposed to know you'd met Phoenix or either of the boys already?" She retorted and slowly withdrew her arrow and put it back in her quiver. "So why are you out here if you've already seen Phoe?" She added flatly as her gaze searched Rika's face. Her stare was cold and disarming as if she could see a lie before it even left it's creator's lips. Surely the tan blonde boy has breakfast done by now... so what business does she have out here? She couldn't help but muse silently to herself as her eyes narrowed slightly. In the silence, the mare stomped a hoof on the ground several times and let out a low nicker as she jerked her head towards the house. Rune patted the mare's neck gently. "I know, I'm thirsty too..." She muttered before looking back at the girl, still waiting for her answer.

"Water would be nice.", Liz answered to the one who had asked them about breakfast. "Thanks for all this, but we already ate.", she was trying to be polite and not take more then she needed, and didn't want to look bad while staking out possible trade agreements and shelter. She watched as the other girl took off suddenly and without her dog. Strannnngee what the hell is she up to? It was quickly dismissed in her mind though as she heard the scraping of a fork over a plate beside her. "Nick!! Apollo!!", she snapped seeing the two of them eat "Wha!? Whatever happened to we ate already?"
---
Nick shoveled another mouthful of the warm quitche into his mouth, then passing a piece off to the rat. It felt like ages since he has had something warm to eat, and he was just tempted to ask for that lemonaide...That would have been too much though, with the way Liz was snapping, she'd just tell him no when he started on about it.
When he finished his plate he finally took note of the other dog and missing girl. It was a bit odd that two sets of new folks would find their way to a rural farmhouse on the same day. I hope they don't think she's with us. She seems...sketchy. He jabbed Liz in the side and pointed to the dog.
"I don't know...", she replied, still flustered and now slightly sore, and turned back to Phoenix "So where should we start?"

Phoenix couldn't help but watch the pup Rika had brought. She then looked at Liz and Nick. "What did you eat? A can of soup, Vienna Sausages, black olives perhaps?" He asked with a barely noticeable smile. "We have enough, so don't worry about eating... It's perfectly fine." She responded to Liz's small scolding to her rat and Nick. After taking a few bites of her own breakfast, she looked back up at Liz. "You said your intent was to trade some items and possibly stay the night." She began, now cutting straight to business. "Is that still your intent, or are you planning on staying longer than a night?" She continued before taking a small drink of her juice. "If you're asking to stay for more than a single night, I will have to prepare a room for you. I do not allow Visitors, or those in my group to sleep in their vehicles under most circumstances." She explained. Her words hinted at the possibility of them becoming permanent members of her small group, should they choose to do so. Phoenix was never one to keep someone at the farm against their will... and with the farm's location, it was nearly impossible to remember where exactly the land was unless you'd traveled it numerous times.
Jamie had poured everyone's drinks and silently took his seat and looked over at Phoenix. "What about the girl that was here?" He asked during the silence.
Phoenix's ex[injection]pression seemed slightly amused, whether it was at his question or her coming answer was unclear. "Rune should be returning any time now. Knowing Rune, she ran into the woman who decided to come in through our back door. Also knowing Rune, if the woman puts one foot wrong, she'll have an arrow through her skull before she can even begin to utter a syllable." She almost purred before taking another sip of her juice.
Sebastian remained silent, her gaze trained on the plate in front of him. Though he didn't respond, he listened intently on everything that was said.

Rika let out a sigh of relief under her breath quietly. How many times have you doged a bullet before betraying a group Rika? Her conscious asked her. Just shut up, this has nothing to concern yo! She answered back angrily. She then dusted her shoulders off before grabbing her katana again and putting it over her shoulder. "And anyway, I was originally out here to get some food for my dog but I just needed some fresh air too, after noticing you guys also had a dog." she then gave the woman a sly smily and walked past her. "Anyway just tell Phoinez ill be in later kay? Thanks!" Before even recieving an answer, Rika ran out into the woods. She looked around at the tall trees. Rika could finally relax and look around at the roses, well trees and bushes in this situation. She breathed the fresh air in deeply and continued to look around.

Rune said nothing in response to the part about the dog, or the girl's smile. As soon as the girl sauntered past, Rune spurred the mare into charging in front of Rika, cutting her off once again. "Um, no... Phoenix obviously hasn't accepted you into the camp yet, therefore we can't have you running about all willy-nilly. If you need your fresh air, the talk to her before going about your business." She said flatly. her suspisions of this girl were growing with each passing second of being in her company. Rune's eyes glared down at the girl. "Now, the way I see it, you have a few options in front of you. Either head back to the house and talk with our leader without any more nonsense, you go back and collect your dog then leave or you try to pick a fight right here and now and get an arrow or knife through your head before you have a chance to draw a weapon." She finished. Her penetrating gaze never left Rika. Her muscles tensed as she readied them to reach for the closest weapon on her body as she waited for the girl's move. Rune honestly wasn't trying to seem rude, hostile or what ever else you might label her actions... She was simply being protective. She didn't trust others easily, and she was never one to give anyone the benefit of the doubt... she was also out to protect herself first and for most... but in doing so, this group was taken care of as well.

Liz gave up and served herself something to eat too muttering, "Twinkies and olives" as she did so. Her head perked when Phoenix mentioned staying longer.. Cought of guard she stuttered nonsensically for a moment "I-We-Uhm-Uh? Well we...", before her eyes shot to Nick who was staring very intensely at her and what she was about to say. She felt his hand slip around hers and pull in under the table. A tickle in the shape of a 'Y', combine with puppy eyes gave her the answer she seeked to continue.
More collected this time she started again, "W-well we didn't really expect to find anyone out here, and the few people we have passed or traded with before have been hostile at be-best... Its nice to be with others even for the short time we've been sitting here, so if you'll take us longer that would be great, but I-we, uh, well I don't thing either of us want to be a bother. We're good for raids, and heavy lifting...I've got no problems with animal care either...We'd do our parts."
It was times like this, when pressure built and she was never quite sure what to say that Liz wished Nick could jump in to help. She'd gotten so used to them not needing to bother to talk anymore that her own social skills were shot, and times like now when she was supposed to be negotiating she was left a begging mess. When he wrote to her, in the past before things got weird he was always so clear, strong, and proper. Only a few times did it ever occur to her it was because he couldn't just say what he was thinking, and had to review them in advance to write them. Why did the days of pen and paper, and failing attempts to learn her sign alphabet turn into this? Dead should stay down...She should be in collage, or working, not on the verge of a mental breakdown in a farmhouse middle of no where.
---
Nick could feels his pulse rising at the idea of staying with actual real people again, and eating proper meals with a roof overhead that wasn't attached to a motor vehicle. Oh god this is great! But what if we read them wrong? What if that was a comment on us instead of an invite... What if it isn't! What will I do if we stay? Why is she babbling, oh brain shut up! The hand around Liz's clenched tighter with nerve. He'd have to learn to work with others again, and yet he wanted to be in there company, now more then he ever did before the breakout. It had restored his faith in humanity in a way.
---
Haha!! Crazy humans are distracted, and mommy left her food out!!! Apollo parked himself be side Liz's plate and began to munch away. He started with a bit of her crust working his way in a few nibbles to the middle, then taking a bit of ice. More for me!!...OMG its got egg! Food, food food, ice from her water cup! Food food-heeeeey, why is mommy stuttering is she okay, didItaketomuch ? Better hide where she can't find me. When he took all the quitche he could fit in hise mouth, Apollo hid in Liz's pocket with only his tail left to stick out.

"No one expects to find anyone out here dear... Even I didn't expect to find people coming onto my property, or find them in town, but I did. And you found us here." Phoenix began with a slight smile. Her voice was almost soothing and full of understanding at the way the girl panicked. "If you can hold your own and pitch in, I have no problems allowing you to stay here. Just know the both of you will have work to do every day just like everyone else." She continued as her gaze shifted to the rat. She watched him long enough to see where he'd scurried. "As for your lovely four legged friend, all of his mess is yours to clean up. I do not want to see anything stuck in the carpet or on any of the furniture from him. He is also going to have to learn our food is not his food unless we offer it to him." She finished. Though her tone was light hearted, she was very serious. Phoenix did not take messes well... she was slightly OCD when it came to her house, vehicle or the stable.

Rika frowned after the woman had explained that she should either just go back to the house and talk to Phoinex or stay here and fight her. "I really don't want any.. Problems right now. So.. I'll just get back to the house and.. Talk to Phoinex.." She said trying to control her temper. Every pause was just a knob coming loose to release her anger on the nearest thing. No, Turn back around! This girl obviously wants a fight! You can't bAck down now and look like a cowards. No just leave the poor woman alone Rika! You wouldn't want trouble on your first day now would you? Don't any of you shut up for once? Rika had to keep her arm steady from rising up to get her katana. " Bye." She said with an annoyed tone and went off in the direction of the house. Rika opened the backdoor once again and saw everyone at the dining table eating breakfast. Rika didn't look anyone in the eye but took a quick glance at Nikki and Sebastian. Phoinex was talking to the other two newcomers about their rat and other stuff she didn't care about. "Sorry for leaving her here." Rika said reluctantly. Nikki wagged her tail furiously and went up to Rika licking her fingers. She noticed that Nikki wAs eating dog food from a bowl too. " oh and thanks for feeding her too." Rika dared not to talk about the woman outside or the fact that she really didn't go hunting for food at all. Just took a quick glance at the woods and came back. Rika sighed heavily and had an urge to just punch something right now. There was the drywall but she knew Phoinex wouldn't like her wall reconstructed after Rika would have punched it.

"Smart girl." Rune said in an almost sarcastic purr. Though she wasn't trolling for a fight, she wouldn't have minded putting this girl in her place. No respect... at least none that I've seen yet... look like I'll have to keep an eye on her... Rune mentally hissed and refrained from shaking her head. As soon as Rika moved back towards the house, she followed until Rika was inside. Once Rika was inside, Rune dismounted the mare and lead her back to the stable. Quickly she untacked the mare and brushed her down before putting the halter away. Once she was done, she headed back inside, coming in through the front door.
Silently she took her usual seat at the table across from Phoenix. She said nothing to Rika, instead her eyes found the other two newcomers whom she hadn't met or even seen until now.
||~~~||
Phoenix looked up from her plate as Rika reentered the dinning room. She'd heard her say something about feeding Nikki whom she assumed was the puppy's name. She smiled slightly as she looked at the pup again. "Not a problem... animals have just as much right as us to be taken care of properly..." She replied. There was an actual smile parting her pale pink lips for a fleeting second as she mentioned the animals, but as soon as she had finished speaking, the smile was gone and replaced by her usual demeanor. "Now, what is your intent now that you know people are here?" She said after a brief pause. Best to just cut to the point... I'm not entertaining them and unless they plan on staying and helping out, the sooner they're gone, the better. I'm not running some kind of shelter here only to get **** on later when they've had their fill. She mentally hissed as she impatiently waited for Rika's response. I
don't think I have anything to really worry about with the boy and girl
that arrived... but this girl with the dog... something about her is...
off... Her mind added as an after-thought to her previous mini mental rant.

Rika didn't exactly know how to answer. "Um, yea. Sorry about breaking In here. Didn't know people actually lived here. Anyway.. Sebastian told me you were accepting new people as long as they were willing to help you. I can help with anything really, the cook , the crazy horse lady, or whatever Sebastian does." She said a bit rudely, but when she mentioned 'the crazy horse lady' she meant it seriously. Rika didnt know what to do. But as she waited for Phoinex's answer she mulled over (( vocabulary word! XP)) the idea of the possibility of being in a group. Rika looked at the table fulled of people and noticed the woman outside had come back without so much of a side glance. Wht do i do now?
