Taro's ears didn't flatten. His tail didn't tuck. He just stood up from the tall grass, matching eye to eye with the alpha. " I am Taro. Pleasure to meet your aquantance, Gavaar and Millie. I mean no harm, and wish to joic uyou pack." he said, not moving an inch.

Angel came over and saw the commotion. She had 6 wolves gather for hunting. She sat beside Gavaar, and looked at the loner up and down, examining him.

"I don't suppose you actually think I can just let you into the pack just like that." Gavaar said, not unkindly. "I would love to, but I believe that you must prove yourself first. You may come to stay in the pack for a while until I decide if you are suited for the pack life. You will stay as a guest, and then after a few days or maybe even a week, I will state my decision. Fair enough?" Gavaar tilted his head and looked at hte loner. Taro didn't seem like he meant any harm, and was certainly polite enough. Secretly, Gavaar hoped that he could trust this wolf. He seemed like an exceptional wolf and a good asset to the pack.

"Well, I could show you back to our camp and give you a mini-tour, although there's not much to gawk about," Millie said, glancing briefly at Taro.

((I... don't know how to start. Fail post, sorry.)) 

Xylon padded silently through the grass, wondering how he should spend the day. He scented the air and was alerted to the distinctive smell of wolves. There seemed to be many of them gathered in one place. Must be a pack, he thought. Perhaps I shall go investigate. It would be good to find out whether or not they are hostile. I may even join them, he mused, then quickly pushed the thought from his head. No, befriend them, perhaps. Not join. Never again.

He quickened his pace slightly and began to trot towards the pack.    

((... Flame Pack...? Do you want that to be part of the plot? xD Should they be NPC characters?))

Millie dipped her head and led Taro to the camp. "Those dens are for the members. That large den is for the nursing wolves and their young. That den is for the alpha and alphess. That den is for the betas, and that one is for the deltas." Vermillion grabbed a large rabbit from the prey pile. She tossed it to Taro. "And that, Taro, is the prey pile." She narrowed her eyes. "This home is only temporary. We're staying here until we can find a forest like the other one that was burned down. This place is pretty much only a clearing with a bunch of dens. There's no forest; just a couple of trees. There's barely any prey. We've been having to live off of small prey like rabbits and squirrels. There's not that many small prey either. This is just some random formation of dens and a pawful of trees. We're going to be moving soon. I know that."

(( I just made it up, sorry. They're already dead from the rogues, lol. Which cshould be NPC's. I just thought I could suggest it for the plot...))

Taro frowned. " That's sad...Wish I could help some way. I know a few good elk-hunting spots. But it'd take about two more wolves to come. Its breeding season there, so it'd be best to go as soon as possible. We could get a double meal. A pregnant ellk. I've gotten many of those. That's how I've survived." he said, smiling.

Xylon arrived at the territory. He hesitated at the border, but decided that he could just turn tail and run if they proved hostile. He was quick, he could outrun them. He hoped. He followed the scent a few steps closer. "Hello?" he called cautiously. "I... come in peace," he said, feeling ridiculous. Stupid thing to say, he thought. I'm a loner, not an alien.

He sat back on his haunches and waited to see if anyone had heard him, not wanting to go too much closer for now.

Millie felt terrible after snapping at the loner staying in their camp, but she felt that it was terrible to steal the life of something that hadn't even experienced the joy of living and all the experiences that a living creature should have. Sighing, Vermillion drifted off into sleep, concerned about the pack and where they were going to live. The last thing she spotted was Gavaar slinking back into camp, two fat rabbits gripped in his powerful jaws.
