Zorey had apparently entered the ruckous a little too late- after smashing the chair, she simply stepped over the mound of splintered wood and dust, and took a seat at the bar. She had concluded that, because he was the one behind the bar. With a little shuffle and a muffled snort, she slapped the palm of her hand down on the surface, "Whiskey, on the rocks" she spat out in the tenders general direction.
She was nervous, that much was obvious. Her nose perked in the air, catching all sorts of smells. Though one in particular took her attention, from a few seats down the bar, the man whom had just entered, Gabriel, was smoking.
"Mind if a girl gets one of those from ya?" she smiled as courteously as she could. It had been days since she had been able to enjoy the fragrance and relaxation of inhaling the toxic substance.

"No...." Salem's silver eyes widened. "No..... No!" She was in complete fear. This wasn't her betrothed. She knew it. But the way that he sang- how he looked. It was like this was his doppelganger, coming to take his place as Salem's husband. "No..." She stepped backwards, her back pressing against the counter of the drink-serving area.
Upon seeing as to how that occured, she began to look much younger than she actually was, her cheeks turning pink with frustration. Her eyes still spilled over with tears, but that wasn't what was bothering her. What was bothering her was how this affected her. She'd never been so close to someone as her betrothed.
And he died. Not by her hand, but of a murderer's. She wrapped her arms around herself under the black cloak that she wore, beginning to shake. Now, instead of her ethereal betrothed singing to her, he was speaking to her, trying to convince her to marry him again.
"No, you're not real. I won't do it," she said, though her voice wasn't as smooth or seductive as it had once been.
Nothing else around her really mattered. She smelled something that she guessed was a flower, and heard a loud howl, but her betrothed kept her mind off of anything else. Quickly, she closed her eyes, finding relief in how she couldn't see him anymore. Still, she could hear him. Maybe if she....
She swore that if she ever got her hands on Halien, he was a dead man. He knew nothing of her. Nothing. He didn't know what it was like to lose someone you were to be wed to. To lose the only person you've been truly close to. To lose everything. She lost everything when she became a vampire. She had to leave her parents, and siblings behind. Her youngest brother was probably at her physical age by now.
But, she couldn't do anything like this. If she had to resort to begging Halien to get something to reverse the effects, she would do it.
And at that, she turned around, her eyes still spilling tears. She focused her eyes on Halien's face, though she could see her betrothed right behind him, his face peeking over his shoulder. "Please, Halien. Please, I beg of you...."
"Give me something to stop this," she said, her voice slower than normal. She was dizzy, and not feeling too well. The alcohol, she guessed. Hopefully that wasn't the effects of another drug that Halien had mixed into the cocktail. God forbid that.

((LOLOLO LAVI. OH GOD. Halien could turn gay for him. ))
Halien Bartender ~
Snorting at Lotus, Halien shrugged. Alcohol did seem to effect many of those with shifter powers.
"Your loss then,"
He grinned wolfishly, and downed a shot of murky amber liquid he had poured from another bottle. Shuddering as the effects to place, his pupils narrowed into slits, and he grinned even wider, showing off even, white teeth. Alcohol did nothing but enhance Halien's magic; the less controlled he was, the better he could hunt with his instincts rather than his brain. He sighed, enjoying the rush of of adrenaline through his bloodstream, and then drawled lazily,
"You get brawls in here often? There seems to be a crazy skunk girl on the loose. Though there also is a pretty hot guy here too; he your man?"
Chuckling lightly at the weepy vampire, he waved his hand lazily; and a spark landed on her nose. It would do to startle her mind back into reality - he had other im[injection]portant things to worry about, such as the fear of the skunk releasing horrible odor and therefore causing the whole Tavern to burst into flame because of his alcohol and phoenix wings currently flaming in a jar.
Pouring said drink, he offered it (albiet a bit warily) to the skunk girl and eyed her over curiously. Apparently she was looking for a fight? How curious. Nothing could be said about the Tavern, except that it was certainly different from those lonesome days killing nobles and hunting down criminals.

Salem watched her betrothed's face fade as the spark landed on her nose. She felt her entire body give a large shudder, and goose bumps rose on her arms and legs. She let out a relieved sigh, and, much to her dismay, the only effects of the alcohol also disappeared with the hallucination. Damn.
But no way was she drinking something from Halien again. No freaking way. Nobody could ever get her to drink a cocktail from him again. Next time, he may mix in silver. While she wouldn't die from silver if she ingested it, it would give her quite the round of throwing up, and she'd be weak for several days. Much easier to kill.
However, if silver was injected directly into her bloodstream in a large amount, it would slowly and painfully kill her. She'd be screaming in agony for days before the silver finally took her life.
The strange thing was that she kept the silver ring. You know what. No. She was getting rid of it right now. Right now.
She turned to Damon, the owner of the tavern, she guessed, and took in a deep breath. "You may need to control what your employees do to your customers, sir. I may not be coming back here." She brushed herself off, and dried her eyes. She pulled the ring off of her finger, and grabbed several gold coins from a coinpurse that she had strapped over her shoulder, resting on her hip.
"I will give you this ring and these coins for one nights' rent of a room." She gave him a straight face, and was relieved now that she was getting rid of her engagement ring. That was the only thing from her past she had held onto. Now getting rid of it. It was much easier done than said, contrary to popular belief.

Halien Bartender
Grimacing, he stared at Salem, who was apparently demanding a room, and from reading her lips, was also telling a threat to Mister Hot Shot Damon. Damn. He couldn't afford to lose this job. He needed it. For his sanity. But with any luck, the idiot wouldn't ever come back to order another drink from him again, effectively burying another face from the past, and he would be able to keep a job for longer than 12 hours. Shuddering slightly he remember the job he held at the meat market. How he had been tempted to kill everyone in sight. Clenching his fists and then gritting his teeth slightly, Halien let himself wallow in sorrow for a few moments before slamming his head repeatedly on the bar table, most likely attracting more than a few looks. Damn that vampire. Why'd she ever come back?

Damon The Owner ▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰
Damon had been watching the fiasco from across the room, lurking in the shadow cast by a large book case covered in oddities. His arms had come to lie across his chest, and he leaned back against the wall. There were some things that, yes, he knew he should interfere with, but this time dull, plain, blatant curiosity got the better of him. Halien would of course be punished later, but he was intrigued by the female vampire. Eyes flashing, he more or less tried a new little trick of his where he saw into the eyes of someone else, but as it was just her mind playing tricks, there wasn't much to actually see. And this Halien fellow seemed to be nothing but trouble; he was rude to Damon, and was terrorizing the patrons.
Shaking his head, the man pushed off of the wall to sashay up to Salem. He snatched up the coins quickly and stuffed them in his pocket, but took a moment longer to peer at the ring. He turned it over between his fingers delicately. Part of him wanted to ask about it. He could feel the emotions that coursed through the silly metal trinket, emotions that had been imprinted onto it. Pain, loss. He wasn't certain he wanted something like this in his possession. But if it was out and about, who knew what havoc it could wreak. Damon had found that ob[injection]jects with enough bad aura surrounding them could effect others who took the thing. it was as if they became cursed. "Hmm. I accept the offer," he said finally, tucking the ring safely into a different pocket than the coins. He would hold onto it himself. "Come. I will escort you to your room."
He walked past the bartender, flashing him a warning glare, not really caring that he was bashing his head in, before moving to a door at the far side of the bar. It led to a stairway. He opened it for the woman, and held it ajar, motioning for her to come. "Ladies first. Go all the way up, there will be a hallway. I'll lead you once we are up there."

Halien(now-severely bleeding) Bartender
"GAH. GAH. GAH." He groaned, still hitting his head against the really really hard countertop. Screw his brain cells. What he really needed was a load of alcohol and a memory potion. And quite possibly a first aid kit. Looking up for a second, he glanced over and had the unfortunate luck to stare right at Damon's butt. Sashaying.
"If there is ANYONE out there, God, please just kill me now. Or give me a concussion. Maybe some amnesia. Please. I did NOT need to see that."
Groaning more, he finally lay his head on the cool top, tempted to go bash in his head more, this time against a wall. Maybe tomorrow he'll throw in the towel and find a saner job. One that didn't involve crazy well-to-do vampires, ladies from his past, howling shifters, and skunk girls.
He wasn't too sure he could stand more of this.

"To be honest, I really shouldn't be allowed to walk freely."
Gabriel arched an eyebrow at the skunk woman. It wasn't very often that he freely shared his cigs; they were specially made, kept frosted, and not cheap. The man had expensive taste. Still, he drew a thin metal container from his deep pocket and drew out a long, thin cigarette. "Here ya go. No charge," he said in a half-joking way. Lotus still hadn't brought him his meat, but that was forgivable. The woman was always late no matter what she was doing. It was commonplace, and he didn't let it bother him. "They're pretty good. So I'm Gabriel, and you are, miss Tail?" he asked in his usual good natured way.
Then for some reason, the bartender started being very self destructive. Gabriel's alarm was obvious on his face, and he jumped up and hopped over the top of the bar in a very fluid motion that only a feline could manage. "Hey, hey! What's the matter with you?" he demanded, grabbing the man's shoulders and forcing him to stand erect. Gabriel stared at him hard, thrusting his face forwards to peer at the mans' eyes to make sure he wasn't raving mad. "Do you need some water or something? You're feeling pretty stiff, maybe you should sit down and relax." Blood soon covered his hands, making him shake his head and grimace. "I think you need some bandages too."

Salem was grateful that Damon just took her coins. She had guessed the amount correctly, then. Of course, she was actually filthy rich. She had a nice home in a different town far away, but the hunters had found that place, and ravaged it. Burned it. They had hoped she was inside. But she was too clever for that.
She bit her lip as Damon turned the ring over in his hand, observing it. She hoped and prayed he wouldn't ask about it. She'd get defensive if he did. She didn't want to have to tell her tale of sorrow and misfortune. She didn't want to have to speak of how her betrothed was killed by a murderer she was yet to find, and kill herself.
Her betrothed was more of a friend to her than anything. More of a friend than a love interest.
As he accepted her offer, she let her body relax, and she let out a relieved breath. She followed him to the stairwell, and, with no second thoughts, moved up the stairs to the top of the stairwell, waiting patiently for Damon to follow her to lead her to the room.
"Thankyou for accepting my offer, by the way. I know rings aren't very common payment, but I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. Sell the ring, and get a room," she said, rocking on the back of her heels, and leaning her back against a wall.

Halien (now heavily intoxicated and still bleeding) Bartender ~
In the midst of his quiet, almost peaceful reverie about his pain, he was interrupted and given the shock of his life when a shock of red hair entered his vision, and roughly pulled him to standing position, successfully bruising his shoulder, and wrenching a couple muscles.
"Owwww, what the heck are you doing you idio....."
Halien whined as the world spun, and his head tilted forward just as Gabriel's leaned forward. The result of which was another painful skull wound. Halien whimpered, the alcohol finally getting to him, and he went limp in Gabriel's arms, smiling goofily.
"Cute kitty,"
He murmured, now focusing on a spot in the ceiling,
"Nice kitty....."
Now feeling his forehead, which was suspiciously wet, he pulled it away and stared at it. Damn. Blood. He sure was going to regret it in the morning.
"Bandages... ye'...nice."
And Halien's world went black.

As soon as Gabriel entered, Lotus' smile lifted right up, face beaming. Now this was one man that she liked, one that could deal with her forwardness. Their friendly banter was something she always looked forward to whenever he came, which was quite often, considering he was a regular. "Finally, a familiar face. I'm alright, Gabe. Damon hasn't fired me yet," she said with a chuckle. "If you could get me an uncooked steak I'd really 'preciate it. You know I tip well."
"'Course and we've got a nice bundle of crazy tonight so don't get too comfy," Lotus said before slapped the bar and waltzing off into the back room, hips shaking from side to side. She hummed to herself as she went into the kitchen and hollered at the cook to get Gabriel's food ready. It didn't take too long. All he had to do was slap a piece of meat onto a plate.
On her way back out, Lotus snatched a napkin with silverware folded inside. She turned back to the bar and froze, chin drawing down as her lips parted in surprise. Halien had passed out in Gabriel's arms and blood was dripping from his scalp. Lotus slid Gabriel's plate onto the bar and looked down incredulously at Halien, then back to Gabriel.
"What the hell happened to him?"

"To be honest, I really shouldn't be allowed to walk freely."
Gabriel looked dumbfounded horrified. Not only because of his current bloody state, but also because of the statements "cute kitty...nice kitty..." Why did this man know his secret? Noticing the slightly pinkish hue of the man's cheeks, however, brought him to the conclusion he had been drinking.
Turning to stare helplessly at Lotus, he shrugged a little. "You weren't kidding when you said there were crazies. And I think this poor bastard's drunk as a skunk--no offense," he added quickly, glancing over to the skunk fur and smiling slightly. And then the color all faded from his face, and he looked about as pale as Damon. "Oh god. He was throwing his head against the bar. Not sure why. Damon really knows how to hire the weirdos," he said with a playful wink towards the woman. "Okay...let's get you horizontal." Gabriel's superb strength allowed him to lift the man pretty effortlessly, although not without a grunt. He was heavy, and all of it was dead weight. He shuffled over to one of the longer tables, built for parties, and laid him down gently. Grabbing a whit handkerchief from his pocket, he sopped up the bloody mes and saw the damage. "Ugh. He really wasn't holding back...Lotus, do you think we have any bandages or something?" He took a few napkins that were on the table and held them firmly to the man's gashes, but it really wasn't suitable.

A small woman walks through the front door, her dark green cloak only covering half of her body, she herself no higher than three feet tall. As she closes the door her black and red hair seems to twirl around her as she turns. She climbs up on to a bar stool and places her leather gloved hand on the table, she looks around her surrounding and smirks a bit. "Quite the group that seems to hang out around here." She says to herself.

Elzaio The dashing elf bartender
A rather dashing looking elf male stepped into The Tavern in that moment, not too long after the approach of the halfling. He noted her briefly, but for the moment said nothing to her. He was LAAATE. Like, by a lot, and that was never a good thing. Elzaio was almost NEVER late, unlike the waitress Lotus. You could never be sure when to expect her. Everyone accepted that, though, and no one bothered to chastise her for it. Maybe a tease here and there, but it wasn't like she was going to change her schedule just for tle="Powered by Text-Enhance" id="_GPLITA_0" style="text-decoration:underline" href="#" in_rurl="http://trkjmp.com/click?v=VVM6OTM0MTozNDp3b3JrOjRiNTE2ZWMyNTVjY2EzNjM1NzI4N2IxY2Y3ZjcxN2QyOnotMTI2OS02ODIzMDp3d3cucmVzY3JlYXR1LmNvbToxMzI6aW1hZ2Vfb25seQ">work.
Unlike most elves, Elzaio's hair was cut short. It was very unorthodox for an elf to cut his or her hair, but considering he didn't really have too many elfy friends, it didn't make too much of a difference. The first thing he noticed was that Gabriel wasn't around. That was good, maybe he could play it off like he was there the whole time. Then something else...why was there a bleeding stranger on the table, with Gabriel bowing over him looking rather frantic? The elf frowned. This tavern was weird...there was almost always someone bleeding or fighting. It was worrisome if there WASN'T. Deciding that Gabe and Lotus could handle it, he turned his attention to the little halfling woman. "Good day, m'lady," he said in a voice that had a strange accent to it, difficult to place. "What can I do ya for?" He wandered behind the bar, which had some blood stains on it, which he quickly wiped away with a wash cloth. Turning briefly, he found HIS apron, the apron that no other waitress or bartender was allowed to use, and threw it over himself, tying it in the back with swift, skilled fingers. "Whiskey, rum, something mixed? Or just conversation?" he added, flashing a dazzling smile.

Zorey sipped the drink in front of her, cigarette finding its way to chapped lips. Before lighting it, she turned to Gabriel, gold eyes glowing deep from under the greasy head of hair. Her lips curled up, teeth pushing her lips apart into a smile. Her teeth where awful clean, but her breath was that of liquor.
"Zorey. Thank ya for the smoke" she nodded subtly.
After the comment made of her race, she slumped forward again, and swug down the last sip of the fiery whiskey. Her hand reached forward, two claws extended, and tapped loudly on the surface of the bar, staring down the bartender. "Good whiskey ya got..." she smiled again "Keep it comin' and there will be a good tip for ya..." she shook her left leg, and the pocket closest to her belt jingled with the sound of money.

Elzaio The dashing elf bartender
Noticing the skunk woman at the bar (well that was different, a skunk woman?), he nodded a greeting to her. "Seems the other guy who was serving you's taken a bit of a stumble. I'll get you what you want, though. Whiskey ya said?" The bottle was still out, and with a dramatic, very elegant array of hand motions, slid a fresh glass up, twirling it as he placed a few sparkling ice cubes in, and splashed in the whiskey. It emerged like a little amber fountain, but not a drop was spilled, and as he slid it to the woman, circular ripples spread out from the center. "There ya go, missy," he smiled. At the halfling's comment, he could only chuckle. "Yeah, ya got that right. It's nothin' ya don't get used to though. Most of the people here are harmless. And if they aren't, the owner wouldn't let anything horrible happen to ya. So far no deaths!" Although that didn't sound necessarily good for the tavern, it was true, and the elf was proud that no one had died in front of his bar.
He reached back, and ran a hand through his short blonde hair. While it was true no one had died, he was still a little concerned about the man laying across the table. And the bloody handkerchief on the floor wasn't very uplifting either. Elzaio chewed on his lower lip, but looked again to the ladies he was serving. "Anything else?"

HalienBartender
Blinking his eyes, Halien groaned out in pain. Why the hell had he decided to cause self harm? Squinting, he struggled to make sense of the chaos and the shapes swimming around him, which were slowly fading. He probably had a concussion, and massive blood loss to boot. Wincing, he shook his head and gritted his teeth as enormous pain erupted again. "Concentrate...." He groaned and then healed his wounds and headache himself. Screw this. What the hell was he on anyways?
Twisting to catch a glimpse of what he was on, he nearly howled. Guess all his wounds weren't perfectly healed after all. But from his guesses, he was flat on the table. Damn. That wouldn't be good for his back. Taking in a deep breath, he blocked out the excess noise and reached deep within himself for his inner eye, and his magic. Reaching for it, he began to fully examine, and then heal his bruised and battered body and mind. He would pay for that in the morning.
A long multitude of minutes later, he was pale and gasping, but all well. Sitting up infinitely slowly, Halien took the time to look around for his savior. Though.... He wasn't really sure who had saved him. All he knew was that he had red hair, and there seemed to be plenty of redheads in The Tavern.
"Sss!" he hissed, as he unconsciously slammed his fist against the table, and ran his fingers through his now messy hair. What a first day

Damon The Owner ▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰
...Oh, how he did let his mind wander!
What she saw might have been a bit of a shock.
"Mm, all right. Let's find your room..." He opened one door, slowly, and a gust of icy cold wind shot out, nearly blowing him over. "Wrong room!" he cried, and with quite a bit of an effort, managed to shut the door tightly. And lock it. "Phew! I forget sometimes which door is which. Hmn..." He continued walking, and motioned for her to follow. "My name is Damon, if I haven't told you before. "

The vampire girl was glad that the male vampire seemed to be happy with her ring. At least he wasn't resentful of taking the ob[injection]ject. She felt much happier without it, now. Like releasing a bird that you had nursed back to health. Salem's sister had done that when the girl was younger. She was such a beautiful child. Salem had been envious of her.
She was stunned with the hallway. It was long, and seemed to never end. How did all of this fit in the tavern? "Magic...." she muttered, staring in awe at all of the ornate decorations and gold decor. Being a thief, it would be hard to keep her fingers from getting sticky. Perhaps stealing some numbers off of the door....
She wondered what the rooms were like. Were they as nice as the hallway? Pity the maid that had to maintain this whole place. She looked up at the ceiling. It was just as ornate as the walls. Chandeliers hung from it, and she wanted to snag one of the crystals that dangled from them.
"I hope we don't get lost...." She furrowed her brows after Damon had opened a wrong door, and was blown with an icy breeze. She giggled slightly, and smiled. The smile actually reached her silver eyes, and she could feel it there. It was a good feeling. One that Salem hadn't had in years.
"It's nice to meet you, Damon. I am Salem." She followed behind him.
Ooc:// I am joining as Salem's sister- the one mentioned in this post. Oh yeah. Family reunion.
