-x- Genevieve -x-
With an outgoing and fiery nature, Genevieve wasn't one for messing around. She wasn't necessarily strong, but she sure could run, and she was a hard worker. She would always insist that she was stronger than she really was, but she wasn't. Her silver eyes and black hair set her apart from most, and she liked it that way. She was unique.
Hearing that there was a tavern nearby that may hire someone for work, the pale-skinned, dark-haired girl walked into the entrance, her heels clicking on the floor. She was dressed up, as she always was. Wearing a relatively small black dress, and onyx jewelry, she looked quite stunning. Though, as soon as she opened her mouth, most romantic thoughts fell from mens' minds.
Her voice was a good voice, but it was fiesty, biting, and sarcastic. Yet, it held a kindness that couldn't be overlooked.
What she didn't expect, though, upon walking into this tavern, was seeing all of the people that weren't human. She didn't spot a single human. Well, she took that back. There were three people that looked human. But, her eyes could be fooled, and they had been before.
Being of age eighteen, the girl was still young, but she was one to insist that she could do anything just as good as you.
Despite seeing the man passed out on the table, she walked over to the group- a skunk girl, a red-head, and a relatively human looking man. Her silver eyes looked at the wound on the man lying down on the bar, and she visibly winced. Ouch.
Soon, the man sat up, and looked at the other man. He seemed to be fine now, she guessed.
She cleared her throat and said, "Do you know where I could find any work here?"

Damon The Owner ▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰
"Hahah, Magic indeed," said the ancient male in his usual smooth tone. "But no, we don't get lost. I don't think so anyway. I've never gotten lost before. It's just a straight walk down, but I always check behind me every so often to make sure the other end of the hall is still there." That was how it worked. No matter how far you walked, you could always see the beginning of the hallway; the door that led to the stairs and down to the tavern. But you could never quite see the end of the hallway. It just stretched, and then became dark.
The vampire noticed the way she looked hungrily at the gold numbers and crystal chandeliers. "If you take anything, I would prefer it to be the crystal figurines on the tables. If the numbers were gone it'd be rather difficult to navigate the hall, and I doubt I could find any more like them to replace it. The chandeliers...well, I think you would hurt yourself trying to get some, and they've been here forever. The figurines would be easier to carry anyway." He didn't speak this in a teasing tone, or even a sarcastic one. It was matter-of-fact, even, as if he was telling her what the weather was going to be like later.
"Salem's a good name," he said after a pause. "I rather like it. Hmn...I think we found it." A door marked 1,937. Had they really passed that many doors? Damon really took no notice of it, and fished out a key ring that had a countless assortment of keys on it. He picked out the very one needed, and unlocked the door, pushing it open for her. She would find it to be spacious, with the same chandelier and a huge canopy bed, dressers and full book cases and chairs and a table. "Does this suit you, Miss Salem?"

Essence
Housecat
The feline meowed and jumped off of Halien's shoulder when he fell to he ground. She was suprised to see him bleeding, and tried to lick some of the blood away.
"And Lotus, take note that i'm a female."
She spat at being called a 'he'. She jumped to the wooden sink and grabbed some ripped up towels and got them wet, dragging it to Halien's wound and putting it on it. After that was finished, she followed Damen and Salem to the incredibly giant room. She padded into the room, catching and killing a few cockroaches and mice to keep the rodnt population low. She brought all of her catches outside, digging a hole and plopping them in. She didnt bury them though, because she didnt need them and any sort of animal could have them. She came back inside from the hole she came from before and layed down on Halien's chest, falling asleep right in that position.
(Meh, I missd alot from sleeping. This is a fail post also lol, I usually skim pages when I missed that much.)

Kora looked up at Ellzaio, her green eyes narrowed a bit as she thought. "Hmm make it a rum." she said. As the elf walked away Kora almost jumped on the the counter and yelled to him "Forget the glass, just bring the bottle!". She slinked back onto her stool. This was the kind of place Kora had been used to hanging around, usually the place to cheat a few people out of their hard earned cash but those days were starting to be behind her. "Hey!" She yelled out to Zorey who she saw was sitting at least far enough for comfort, "Got anymore of those cigarettes?" she said.

So it was magic.... She was fascinated by all of it. She was a bit afraid of it, too, though, as were all people when magic was first becoming introduced. She looked at the passing doors. The numbers were already passed one-thousand! The surprises of this place just kept coming, didn't they.
And then there was what Damon said. He surprised her. She swore she heard her jaw drop somewhere on the ground. How had he known she wanted to steal something? And he didn't even scold her for it, or get angry. He simply told her what he would prefer her to steal. Normally, if she were caught, she'd be thrown out. But.... He didn't seem to care. It was odd. Perhaps he had been a thief, too, once?
She was about to comment on how he picked out her thieving nature when he opened a door, and revealed her room for the night.
It was stunning. Sure, not king-seating material, but it still sent her into awe. It reminded her of her room back at her old home, but this room had more charm. Her old one had previously belonged to a man whom she assassinated. She was rarely contacted for assassinations, but if people wanted someone dead, she was the one to go to.
"This is perfect."
She turned around to look at Damon.
"It is much to my liking, Mr. Damon." She gave him a slight smile and a nod of her head. "I won't be turning in for the night just yet, but now I know what room number I need to look for when I'm ready to retire until dawn," she said, a small smile playing on her dark pink lips.

Aravel The faithful waiter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aravel sighed softly as he stepped into his place of employment, slipping into his vest only to pause and stare at his fellow employees and the current...state of the tavern. He shivered slightly, then shook his head and stepped in further. His violet eyes shone with curiosity, his too-long blue hair falling into his face, his hair-tie around his wrist."Why on earth are there these strange felines in the tavern...?" he asked himself, turning his gaze to focus mostly on the blue feline that stuck out the most. This was surely a curious predicament...but he supposed he really couldn't judge.
He shook his head and moved to tie his hair back and slide his hands into his pockets, taking the chance to look around once more and survey the area around him. Only a little late and he's apparently missed absolutely all of the important things. A small frown tugged at his lips at the thought, which he shook off shortly after. "You're late one day and everything goes nuts," he murmured to himself, lifting a hand to run it through his bangs before he took this chance to relax himself.
He glanced around until the discovered someone he recognized as part of the staff, moving over with a small smile. "Ah, Lotus...you wouldn't happen to know where Damon is, would you? I wanted to apologize to him for being late today and...apparently missing all of the fun," he said, looking over his shoulder again and shivering. "And would you happen to have any idea why there happens to be felines relaxing in here?" He stared at the cats again before lifting his violet gaze back to Lotus, utterly confused.
Then he noticed the man currently seated on the counter and groaned softly, pressing his thumbs against his temples. "Coming in late is hazardous to one's health," he murmured, shaking his head. "I'm not even going to ask what happened here, I don't think I want to know."
With that, he simply walked off, waiting to see if another customer would walk in at any time so he could do his job. This was simply way too much for him to simply walk in on, and he winced as a dull pain already began to throb in the back of his head. "I just got here and already I'm stressed enough to give myself a headache," he groaned softly, going back to gently massaging his temples. "This is going to be a very, very long day."
((Hope you don't mind me bursting in. <3))
"Ah, Lotus...you wouldn't happen to know where Damon is, would you? I wanted to apologize to him for being late today and...apparently missing all of the fun," Lotus glanced up from her work (she was currently wiping down tables that had been used by less insane customers) when she heard Aravel speak. Now that the Tavern's employees were finally showing up, maybe some sense would be knocked into the rest of them.
"You're later than me. There's a first," Lotus said and shrugged. "Damon's upstairs with some weird-ass vampire chick that walked in. Our new bartender just passed out and honestly, I have no idea why the cats are running around here. And don't call the blue one a boy. It went into a hissy fit earlier," Lotus said.
"I see Halien's doing better, Gabe," Lotus commented as she tossed the damp cleaning rag over her shoulder. "I'd stop doing stupid stuff like that. You're going to get yourself fired," she said.
"To be honest, I really shouldn't be allowed to walk freely."
A mixture of alarm and relief washed over the face of the redhead at the sight of the wounds being healed on their own. So he really was a magician of some sort. While that might be some reason to have concern, as magic users tended to be trouble, it made caring for him easier. Still, he felt inclined to stand by. Gabriel placed his hand on the fellow's lower back and helped support him stand up. "Easy there," he murmured, "That was quite a stunt you pulled. Why don't you just take it easy for now? Maybe even go home. Even if ya healed the outside of the wound and stopped the blood, the damage all ready done still will be nasty." Once this mysterious mage was stable enough, Gabriel just shook his head and wandered away from the table.
Just as he turned away, he saw one of the shifter wolf girls grabbed by her neck by another one who just walked in. "Woah woah hey!" he nearly shouted, pushing his way in between them, so that the girl trying to grab Akio couldn't get to her. He was getting fed up with people being stupid and violent tonight very quickly. "What the HELL is wrong with you people?" he snarled, glaring intensely at the werewolf. "Just sit the hell down, grab a freaking drink and shut the hell up. I'm sick of all you trouble makers starting problems in my bar, so KNOCK IT OFF!" Gabriel's voice roared, and a hint of the lion inside of him could be heard. With a frustrated growl, he stormed over to his place on the bar where his plate was waiting for him. He glowered a moment with irritation, then tore into his hunk of meat on the plate. The blood dripped from the corner of his lips to his chin. It was wiped off with the back of his hand, then licked off of that. His appetite had kind of died off, though, and he just whipped another cigarette out and lit up, leaning back in his chair.
Halien Bartender
Sighing in embarrassment, Halien shook his head and smiled lukewarmly at the red-haired man for helping him up. Hearing his words of advice, he grimaced internally and shook his head. He could rest when he was dead. The least he could do for this chaotic Tavern and its equally messed up owner was to help out. It could be a little "I'm sorry for all the havoc I've caused you" gift to Damon. Lord knows how HE dealt with this. What a hectic first day.
Dusting off his apron, he searched futilely for a band to tie his hair back in, and groaned as he pulled out a pink ribbon.
Damnit. Why'd he put THAT with him?
Gritting his teeth, he took it like a man, and strode over to the bar again, and took his place behind the bar.
Which was now, strangely enough, inhabited by another. One who was frankly, very gorgeous. Halien had no concerns over this, as frankly, he swung both ways and enjoyed the gift that Fate had presented him. Though not quite his type, he was smart enough to be able to appreciate the beauty of this elf. But wait. What was HE doing behind the counter? Was he another 'tender? Wait. Would that mean he would have to cooperate with others?
Coughing slightly, he shot the man an unashamed open mouthed stare (which ended up looking more like he was grimacing in pain, than anything).
"I wasn't aware I would be working with a partner."
He stated dully, mentally smacking himself in the head. Way to go, Captain Obvious, as if the open mouthed gape wasn't enough. He hadn't blubbered and stumbled all over himself when speaking to the cute, but feisty Lotus, or his savior; the Red-Head. And they about the same level of attractive as this guy. So what was wrong with him?
"God no. Wait. Forget that. Never mind. I'd expected as much." He muttered, ears turning a funny shade of pink. Shaking his head, he turned around and began inventorying the few magical ingredients left. Again.
"Just sit the hell down, grab a freaking drink and shut the hell up. I'm sick of all you trouble makers starting problems in my bar, so KNOCK IT OFF!"
Lotus raised a brow at Gabriel's outburst. "Your bar, Gabe?" Lotus said with a laugh and took the bar seat next to him. She tossed the rag from her shoulder onto the bar and likewise propped her elbow up on the wood. Her nose crinkled as she watched the blood from Gabriel's meal dribble down his chin. Though she may serve it, Lotus couldn't stomach any type of meat. Give her fruits and veggies any day.
"Easy there, tiger," Lotus said and leaned back a bit when Gabriel lit up his cancer stick. "You know trouble comes with shifters and well, our new bartender here isn't helping much," Lotus continued and eyed Halien as he gawked at Elzaio. Speaking of, Lotus hadn't even seen the man come in, much less take his station at the bar. Jeez, this place really was in total disarray.
"When'd you pop in?" she asked the elf.
HalienBartender
"Hey! I'm helping out a whole lot more than you are girly!"
Halien yelled irritably at Lotus' direction, having regained a few of his senses to recount all the olives after being interrupted by Red-Head's irritable outburst. Slamming another gin and tonic in front of an unamed patron who seemed to just want to drink his sorrows away (why the hell didn't he just order a bottle of tequila?) Halien glowered more at the raucous group shifters, youthful lust and desire quickly fading and annoyance becoming the main emotion. Why couldn't they just stay home and socialize and have their drama fests? They weren't ordering anything anyways. Speaking of which, he hadn't seen a single one of these customers pay for their meal. How the heck was he going to be paid? Assuming he would be paid at all, the rate he was annoying Damon.
Sighing, in despair, he poured another hefty amount of alcohol into the man's glass, who's now desperate wails added to the noise and din of the Tavern.
"Sometimes, I wish I could just give these people a gag and a spell to permanently shut up."
He groaned quietly.
