Lillypaw swayed on her feet, not knowing what to say.  What kind of horrible Clan was ShadowClan?  She layed down, her legs buckling under her.

"StarClan is the Clan that lives in Silverpelt," she explained, gesturing up towards the first stars beginning to bl
ink to life in the pale evening sky.  "They watch over us, and send us prophecies.  When we die, we join them."

"Lillypaw!"

Lillypaw looked up in alarm, to see Pebblefur walk into the den.  She threw a glance at Lynxpaw, and then sniffed.

"We're going to the Moonpool," her mentor said simply, with a hint of stiffness in it.

"Oh!" Lillypaw exclaimed, nodding.  She had forgotten.

"Well, come on!" was Pebblefur's irritatted reply.  The silver WindClan cat stalked out of the den, headed towards the Clan entrance and exit tunnel.

"Bye," said Lillypaw softly, and then ran after her mentor.

Lillypaw collasped on the smooth ground surrounding the Moonpool, exhausted.  Pebbluefur, continued on towards the other Clan medicine cats with an annoyed glint in her eye; they were the last to arrive.

Lillypaw avoided Runningpaw's gaze and took her place beside Pebblefur silently.  She lapped at the cool water in unison with the other cats, and then closed her eyes.

Immediately, a whirlwind of dense white mist surrounded her.

The lark will save us form the Fog...

Lillypaw gasped.  It was a prophecy, but why had they told her, and not a real medicine cat.

Lillies will come after mist, bringing the Lynx.

Lillpaw shook her head, confused.  The dense mist--No, Fog, she relaized--surrounded her, but she could make out the faint forms of StarClan cats.  The stars in their fur glinted, then faded away... leaving her alone in the deep, drowning mist.

"NO!" Lillypaw yowled, jolting out of her trance. 

The other medicine cats were already awake, but none were making a move to exit. 

As Lillypaw began to get up, Silverminnow announced loudly, "Before we leave, I have an important announcement."  As heads turned, Silverminnow continued, "Runningpaw has completed his training, and is ready for his full medicine cat name."

Lillypaw looked at her friend in happiness, but she felt a hollow pang in her chest.  She has begun training before him, hadn't she?  Her thoughts didn't have a chance to continue, though.

"Runningpaw, by the power of StarClan, I grant you your full warrior name.  Runningpaw, from now on, you will be known as Runningwater.  May you share your healing knowledge for generations to come, and may StarClan guide your path."

Runningwater bowed his head and then touched noses with Silverminnow.  Though he had his full medicine cat name, he would still continue his training with Silverminnow.

"Runningwater!  Runningwater!  Runningwater!" Lillypaw echoed the chants hollowly, disappointed.

As the medicine cats got up to leave, Pebblefur interrupted.  "Lillypaw, too, has completed her training, my fellow medicine cats, and is ready to receive her full medicine cat name."

Lillypaw's chest thudded with excitement and joy.  "M-me?"

Pebblefur looked at her for the first time with some affection.  "Do you see any other Lillypaws here?"

At the mild shake of Lillypaw's head, she continued, "Lillypaw, by the power of starClan, I grant you your full warrior name.  Lillypaw, from now on, you will be known as Lillywhisker.  May you p*censored* down your curiousity, intelligence, and kindness for generations to come, and may StarClan guide your path."

Lillywhisker bowed her head and then touched her mentor's muzzle in turn.

"Thank you," she whispered, before they turned to begin their journey back home.

Lillywhisker bound into camp, bursting into the medicine cat's den.  She smiled brightly at Lynxpaw.

"Hi!" she said, trotting over to her nest and curling up inside it.  "Guess what?"
