Casually walking into Algebra late, Halien handed the teacher a pas.s "Had to go to the nurse, strictly under doctor's orders" He said quietly, yet with a hint of steel in his voice. Walking over to his seat, Halien worked steadily through his problems, hating the stupid problems mortals came up with.

Soul put her head in her hand as she worked on the problems, speeding through them by using her 1600 year store of human knowledge. Never knew this would be usefull, she thought ruefully as she finished the last one.

((D8 All those trees!)) "Teacher's out today," One of the well-known substitutes stumbled into the room drowsily. "Sorry, I'm out of it. That lesson was for the other clas-s whose teacher wasn't out. I'll write the textbook as-signment you need to complete on the board..." It was evident the teacher was tired. Jaryn blinked, and then sighed. The test probably wouldn't be moved to make up for this day, and it would just mean he'd have to spend more time cramming for the test.
*** "Great," Bata replied airily, staring at the substitute. "I'm sure you'll want to do some textbook work too, no?" Without listening, she flicked an eraser shaving off her desk and yawned.

Soul looked at the teacher, who was stumbling across the room, "Yeesh," she hissed at Jaryn, "Is he drunk?" She looked at her immaculate writing on her book and sighed, Dumb math problems, I want to tear whoever invented them apart.

"Maybe just tired," He said, with the dull realization the teacher didn't even bother fighting against Bata or reprimanding the kids who spoke as she wrote math problems. Hunching over, he quickly copied the problems in his binder and began working on them, annoyed how he had to keep referring back to his notes on lessons he had been practicing and learning for a week. Meanwhile, some of the kids were already speeding through them. Bata smirked, doing all the problems in her head and jotting them down messily. It was a well known fact their teacher insisted on work being shown when coming to an answer, but there was little to be done about that when she wasn't there.

Staring at the substitute, Halien made no move to cover the look of scorn on his face. "Do you even know what you're doing? Oh no doubt, you'll want to flip through all our notes, try to be friendly, so you can *censored*ign homework that you won't even bother to pick up. what a GREAT teacher" Halien mocked, not bothering to hide his sarcasm either. "Tell you what. How about I pick my own pages to work on, like a good little child and you can go down the rest of your alcohol in peace?"

"Wonderful," Jaryn groaned, "Oh well..." The teacher dropped the marker to the ground, but didn't pick it up. He collapsed at the desk, putting his head in his hands and breathing raggedly. When encountering a troublesome math problem, he wasn't exactly the best teacher to ask at that moment. And these are what budget cuts result in, Jaryn thought, staring, before continuing working. Bata yawned, bored, despite the period not even halfway over. She'd be able to stay in her human form until the end of the period, but this... didn't sound like fun at the moment. Pettiful humans- relying on a mixture of natural substances to have fun and just allow themselves to slip over the edge the next day. She cast a dissaproving glance at him.

Soul giggled as the teacher collasped, she would never get humans and their love for booze. She closed her mathbook and grabbed her sketchpad, wanting to do something non-school related.

"Fine with me," He yawned, too lazy to fight back. "You kids wouldn't know the stress of life anyways. Go tell the principal, I don't really care... Do what you want. You'll all regret it later when you grow up stupid..." His voice trailed off, and he was silent, save for his raspy breathing. Bata blinked, and shrugged. "Hey, free period then."

Soul smiled to herself as she drew her dragon form, but inwardly cursed for forgetting her colored pencils. She outlined the body, making the lines thin so she could erase them easily.

Coughing slightly, Halien shrugged and spoke of his own free will, one of the only times for most of them. "Guess so. It's free period" He grinned micshievously, and pulled out a deck of cards. "Poker anyone?"

"Poker," She smirked, "Great- I'd love to gamble." She joined them, oddly sociable, and laid down a few coins- the humans' currency. While she had no use for them, perhaps these humans would. Or, at least, she could beat them all and laugh at their faces.

((Oh, okay. Just don't make it too controlling, lol.)) Bata played, keeping her cards hidden and her face emotionless. She manipulated the cool wind that came in from the window, bringing it closer and surrounding herself with its coolness. In a way, she used it as a cloak. A few papers scattered, and the area where she was sitting dropped considerably lower from the cool air, but she paid no attention to that. Her eyes were focused on her own ccards, ready to deal her own moves and win.

Not gonna get into specifics of the game here, forgot how, but let's just say Halien and someone else got a bit richer this past.. clas.s)) Halien nodded. "Great" Quickly shuffling the cards, he showed his prowess with dealing. Quickly dealing the cards, he stopped when he had evenly distributed 5 cards per each person. "For the sake of poker, let's play Texas hold 'EM. Form of poker. I'll play as dealer."
