(( One day in the running, and already 105 posts XD And I know only the basics, so I'm improvising here XD)) Fanning open his cards, Halien saw that he had an Ace of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, Jack of Hearts, and a 10 of Hearts. "Well, it seems like I have the Royal Flush ladies, I win." Halien chuckled, and stood up to get all his books together into his bag.

Bata scowled, and the one thing she hated most was losing. LOSING. She slammed her cards down, ripping the cards Halien had put down on the table, and examined them with a keen eye- or as keen as she could with contacts, anyways. Huffing, she as-sumed he had cheated. The air collecting around her dispersed, sending a light breeze from her direction, and she hissed at the boy. "How'd you cheat this time!?" And then she added in dragontongue- which would sound like a mumbled moan to humans- "Lying human..."

Raising an eyebrow, Halien replied back in dragontongue, hissing softly. " I as.sure you, I'm no lying human. In fact, I think you realize that I'm not even human. And I'll gladly play you again with store-bought cards if you wish for a rematch. Or don't you have the guts to lose again?"

For a moment, Bata narrowed her eyes, and then growled back softly, too softly for the onlooking humans to hear, "Shut up, overzealous one. It's no wonder our kind died out- they had overconfident people like you." Her eyes flashed and she smiled at him, finding him out. "Though I really don't care you know who I am now. Reveal me and our whole kind goes down the drain." "What's up with you people?" Jaryn blinked, not usually one to interfere, but with them just garbling and mumbling in some strange way kind of disturbed him.

Gazing at Bata stonily, Halien also replied, very softly, so only she could hear, "Or maybe our race has died out because of those, like you, who cannot understand losing, and their tongues too quick for their minds to control. It is very well to be overzealous, if coupled with a careful tongue and a nimble mind, however, more harm is done when one has no meaning of the word lose, pampered, with a tongue so uncarelessly inflicting harm to anyone. And why do you think we're here? Simply no coincidence that we were all sent to one place to 'learn' about these repulsive humans. Do you think I'm so foolish to kill the remaining of our race just to satisfy the threat of one foolish, spoiled brat of a dragon? I think not"

((>XO Internet fail, sorry.)) Bata smirked. "Interesting. You have quite the tongue, Halien...at least we're both able to speak up unlike some." For a moment, her mind wandered to her frail great-grandmother she had heard about when eavesdropping. Apparently, she had refused to fight back, clinging to peace and crying that if the humans dominated, it would be better just to go along and surrender. She had been killed in cold blood, throwing herself in the line of charging hunters, begging, pleading, and just plain...crying, to spare them and they could all live in peace. Her own death had stalled them though, and the rest of her family was able to escape. It only inflicted a harsh scar on their family though- she had tried so hard, only to die and prove there was no possible chance. No chance at all...
A shadow crossed her face, and she was silent for once, until she whispered, not in dragon tongue, "Forget it." She sat down, a small tear running down her face.

((I'm back. :x)) Natalie stumbled back into the room, feeling very faint. She hadn't called her parents, but her breakfast did come back. Seeing that apparently it was free period, Natalie sat down by Bata. She whispered, "What's going on?"

Halien had nodded at Bata's first statement, then froze the minute the tear trickled down Bata's face. Oh God. If she bursts to tears, I think I'll puke. Halien thought, silently panicking. His voice came out softer and kinder than it had ever been in his life. "Hey. You alright? I didn't hurt your feelings did I?"

"You haven't said anything at all except for your lovely introduction..." For a minute, she attempted to steer things away from herself. Blinking, she looked at Natalie, probably one of the sane people. Was she a dragon too? Was it that most of the people who were 'too fragile to go through the whole day' were them? She squinted, and had the sudden urge to flick the girl in the head and see how she responded. "Poker, drunk teacher," She stated flatly, gesturing towards the man who drooled sloppily over his folders.

(( Yeah. Srsly. Why can't you stay and watch Halien get all twitchy?)) Halien paused, then pulled out a packet of tissues. "Know they're quite flammable, but they help wipe away tears. Humans.." Shaking his head in disgust, Halien looked at Bata cautiously. "Really hope you don't have emotional outbursts like mortals" He said flatly, and looked sadly at the metal chain around his wrist. "I do my best to avoid talking, since the power of words is stronger than the power of physical movement. I...." Halien struggled for the right word, then said, "I'm not used to speaking in this form. I usually get my point across with a glare. I don't feel like I should waste my breath talking to deaf ears." Jerking his head at the clock, Halien smiled grimly. "Looks like free period's almost over."
