Roderick finally realized that the blistering light searing into his eyes was in fact the sun. He turned away, the slight movement bringing a wave of dizziness over him as he felt the ground begin to tilt. He dug his fingers into the sand to keep from falling off. In a moment of bewilderment he noticed that he was on the ground, having no idea how he'd gotten there, and sat up sharply. He gasped in pain, nearly crumpling right back over onto the beach. A burning plane was the only thing now in his field of vision, but it took him a little while of silent gawking to understand that he had probably been on that plane.
He touched his forehead without thinking, quite surprised to find his hand covered in thick blood, which he could feel trickling down the side of his face. He staggered to his feet, looking around, still quite disoriented.
There were people over there! He wobbled over to them, clutching at the side of his chest, not even knowing what to ask first. He couldn't even remember the crash itself.

"Hello." Aki turned, seeing a boy about her age. "Are you another sur-" she stopped mid word. Just the thoguht of the word surviver made her eyes well with tears. She remembered her sister's body and turned away, starting to leave again...

"I guess." the young boy replied, "I just can't seem to remember what happened..."
Hunter drifted off when he saw the fox-woman approach them again. This time she wasn't alone. There were three others, one a fox-person like herself, the other two were more like wolf-people. The red-haired, fox-woman was at the front and walked up to Hunter. The fox-man, had white fur and hair instead of red, walked up to Aki and attended to her wounds. The wolf-people gathered the dead scattered around the area and took them away.
The red-haired fox-woman, latter know as Yuin, tended to Hunter. The boy sat down on the dirt ground and didn't say a word, to shocked to say anything.

Roderick stopped in his tracks, gaping, wide-eyed.
He'd hit his head harder than he thought. The boy fell backwards onto the sand, scrambling away a little bit. These had to be some of the most disturbing hallucinations he'd ever seen. And the only hallucinations he'd seen, for that matter. He tried to scream, but his throat felt too dry and tight all of a sudden. It looked like he was going to die in the middle of nowhere on a beach. A sad smirk lit onto his features.
What a way to go...

After all of the dead were buried and all of the survivers were bandaged up the half-humans helped them into a large hut. They talked to a centaur family, they spoke in a language the children couldn't understand. Then one wolf-human, the male, walked over to the children and pulled them outside."
"They have agreed to allow half of you to live with them. It is a big hut but considering all of you you will still have to sqeeze. This will be the males hut, the female's hut is right across." he pointed to a simular hut about a yard away. "I will let you settle in and pick you up for school in the morning.
With that the half-humans bolted off, to a place the children knew not. Hunter walked into the hut with the other guys while the girls left to go settle down in the other hut.
"I hope you enjoy your stay here at the orphanage. You will live here until another creature adopts you." the male centaur said,"My wife will live at the other orphanage, for females, and I shall live here."
The centaur gave a tour of the house, showing them their beds and explaining they would have to pull their weight around here and do some outyard work. Finally, when the tour was ove, he let the guys retire to their beds so they could be well rested for school in the morning.
Hunter plopped on his bed and got under the covers. As soon as his head hit the pillow he was out, having dreams about the day to come.

Aki sat near her sister's grave, more like lying on it. This was the person, her twin, that she had spent her entire life with. It was hard to believe that she was gone. She sighed, hoping her sister was with her parents in a better place. Her mouth twisted in a forced smile as she closed her eyes to sleep on the roucgh ground, ginoring the fact that there were comfy beds close by..

Roderick couldn't have slept if he wanted to. His head was still throbbing and he was so certain that he was insane it was hard to imagine. For a while he just hid curled up in his bed, coming to the conclusion that it wasn't so terrible to be stuck in this weird dream. It was sort of a neat place, right? And it wasn't as if he had anywhere more pressing to be.
After a while he wobbled to his feet and limped out of the hut, taking care to be as quiet as possible. A walk would clear his head and possibly get him more used to the idea of living with terrifying mutants. But then he spotted the girl. He approached her slowly, unsure of himself, before recognizing what she was near.
"Hey.." He said, nudging her with his foot to try to gently wake her.

Akilina blinked open her eyes and stared up at the boy. She whiped the tars from her eyes and got to her feet, folding her arms. "Isn't everybody asleep?" She asked, wondering what he was doing out here...

Zita sat on the bed, still being quiet. She hadn't said a single word after they had crashed, and she didn't intend to. She just wanted to rot and die, she didn't care about life anymore, it felt so distant now.. She had gotten bandages, but it still hurt, she didn't show it. She saw two people with each other, wondering how they coped with all of this.
Without darkness, there wouldn't be light, without sound, there wouldn't be silence, without chaos, there wouldn't be peace, without doubt, there wouldn't be faith..

"We're supposed to be asleep in those huts," he replied softly, stressing the last three words of that sentence. Roderick felt too bad to let this girl lie here on the ground in mourning. He understood grief- but it was still a little heartwrenching to see those people that were devestated by the disaster.
Then again, how good could any of them be doing? Even if he stood by this girl, which probably wouldn't help much of anything anyway, everyone else was probably in pretty low spirits too.
"Were you travelling with her?" He asked suddenly, apparently having lost interest in nagging her to get inside already. He motioned toward the grave as he spoke, having *censored*umed it was a female by the name.

Roderick stepped forward, about to call out for her to stop, but didn't. He'd reached out toward her, but let his arm drop to his side. How stupid of him to think he could help. He didn't even know this girl. Yes, people who were grieving needed others around them for support, but a stranger hardly fit the bill.
He sighed, looking down to the grave marker. It seemed like the whole lot of them were just doomed to live miserably on this weird island for the rest of forever, trapped in a dream. His only hope was that sleeping would snap him out of it somehow. He couldn't exactly expect to get rescued- if anyone knew about this island then the gigantic half-animal things would have been notable. *censored*uming they were real.
But he had to keep looking on the bright side. Seeing strange creatures like this was pretty exciting, right? They were living out the fantasies of bored kids at home everywhere. This was sort of like an adventure... Even though it was more like being trapped.
He wandered around for a little while longer, but the encounter with the girl had left a bad taste in his mouth, reminding him of the countless people they'd lost in the crash. He headed back to sleep fitfully in the boys' hut for the rest of the night.

"Are you all right? You need to sleep, dear." Zita stared at the female centaur. She didn't need somebody to tell her what to do. They would probably just eat her while she was asleep. She walked out the door, and looked at the sea. So far away.. She kicked a random rock, and saw a girl cry. She didn't care, she didn't have to. No, Zita was strong enough, she would meet death with a triumphant smile. The thought of that made her smile a little bit.
Without darkness, there wouldn't be light, without sound, there wouldn't be silence, without chaos, there wouldn't be peace, without doubt, there wouldn't be faith..
