Vinny couldn't help but laugh at the first two comments Maya made. She sounded so much like... Well, him. He glanced back at Aryia and Mason and couldn't help but smile at the two. Mason looked... somewhat bored, or maybe it was a different emotion, but Vinny coulnd't tell; and Aryia seemed like she was having the time of her life. "Good to know you too," Vinny said with a grin.

Mason thought about Aryia's suggestion for a moment than shuddered. A few years ago a bookshelf had been knocked onto him at the library. It had been stopped by the wall, so he hadn't been seriously hurt, but he'd gotten plenty of bruises from having five-dozen or so books suddenly drop on his head.

"Um, I'm not a big fan of libraries." he said shyly. Feeling awkward again, he went back to twirling a bit of his hair around his finger nervously.

Maya stopped nibbling and lifted up the cookie to eye-level to inspect it. "A sugar cookie. With M&Ms. Mmmm." Maya grinned and took a big bite out, catching a falling M&M with her other hand. "Want some? There's a whole bowl of 'em over there." Maya pointed at a gla-ss bowl that contained a variety of cookies on the buffet table.

Aryia noticed Mason's shudder. 'Oops, did I say something wrong?' She thought. "You cold?" She asked. "I'm sure outside is warmer, since it's... summer. And everything." Aryia shrugged. "And the frogs are croaking outside, which I think it a better sound compared to this rock music blasting through Aphrodite's speakers." Aryia grinned.

Mason smiled at her suggestion and stopped playing with his hair, glad that Aryia had said something that didn't make him feel awkward. It was hard to get Mason comfortable in a conversation, but this girl was at least starting to get him to relax. "Sure," he said, his voice having a bit more spunk to it. "let's go."

Aaron nodded then perked up when the song changed to a slow one. Now that was more his style. He wasn't the best at party dances, but he'd spent most of middle school learning how to slow dance because he knew it'd impress the ladies later on. "May I have this dance?" he asked Alley, continuing his cheesy French impersonation.  

"Oh, we're going outside?" Aryia asked, standing up. "Alright then." She grinned again and extended her hand to Mason for him to hold. She guessed that Mason didn't really like being dragged around, since Maya didn't either whenever Aryia got excited and dragged her everywhere she wanted to go.

"Hmm... how do you dance?" Maya asked, looking around to observe the other dancers. A few close and real couples, while a few other just-friends couples were dancing. "I don't know how to dance." Maya grinned. "I guess I never did bother to."

Maya grinned. "Sure, then." She said, shrugging. She observed the other girls, and placed both of her hands on Vinny's shoulders. "The rest of 'em are doing it." She said, nodding her head towards the other couples on the dancefloor. "I hope I got it right."

"Like you could get it wrong?" Vinny asked with a grin. "I take it you don't go to a lot of the school dances? He added with a half hearted chuckle. Vinny smiled softly at Maya and started listening to the song. "You know, I don't think I've ever heard this song before..." He paused and then shook his head to confirm.

((It's all good. ^-^ It just took me another half an hour to find a good hot spot in my darn house. xD We don't have wireless so I mooch off the neighbors... o.o))

Akila giggled and started dancing with Kylie. She smiled.

 "Well, it's one of those chart toppers, you know," Maya said, snickering at his cluelessness with songs. "You're just like Aryia. She doesn't know any famous actors, and won't be bothered to catch up on all the gossipy things. Then again, I guess I gave her that trait." She shrugged.

Kylie noticed the change in beat with the song and started to laugh as she continued dancing quickly. She probably looked like an idiot, but she didn't care... She was, well, Kylie.

"Well, maybe I should have asked your sister to dance instead," Vinny teased harmlessly. He smiled sweetly at Maya then shrugged. "But I guess she's off with what's his face with blue hair... Guess I'll have to settle for you." Vinny winked at Maya and chuckled softly. "Just kidding," He added quickly, just in case she thought he was serious.

((I don't know what song is playing either... xD))

Shane smiled and put his arms around her. "So....."He smiled.
