Jared was laughing loud at what something Yuin said, that is why he did not hear the Shadow Rider. She came up from behind and grabbed at his throat, her dragon pinned Yuin down on the ground, there was no way to escape. He yelled as loud as he could manage with her fingers gripping onto his throat.

Charlie wasn't that far away from Jared so he heard him yell. He mounted his golden dragon and flew over to help the poor Dragon and Rider.
When they got there the girl was trying to stuff Jared into a cage. Kvior leaped on the girl, letting Jared escape. Jared wasn't going anywhere without Yuin though so he created two huge earthquakes, making the Shadow Dragon slip into the crack of the one and the Shadow Rider slip into the other. The two dragons and their Riders flew away to safety.
