"So do I," Zallion said, nodding in agreement. "Me? I'm quite fine, thanks." he said and gave her a smile. He looked at the humans and growled softly, unable to ignore them. "So where do you wanna go?" he asked, resting his soft golden-brown eyes on Cleao.

Cleao looked up at Zallion for a moment, then lifted herself back into a sitting position. She glanced at the town, her golden eyes taking in the view for a final time that day. She stood up, and turning back to Zallion, smiled. "Anywhere away from here is fine with me... I may head back to the dens. I've been up here too long." She then padded away from the town, and towards the homeland of the wolves.

OOC: May I join? :3 I've been looking for a decent enough wolf roleplay for a while. I don't mind if you don't need an extra player, though. And I hate to be awkward, but I have to ask - must we join as wolves, or are different species allowed to play here? :3

((Maya: He's accepted.

Wolfeira: Sure, you can join. And I would prefer if you joined as wolves since I have intented for this to be a wolf RP.))

Lucian shook his head and stood up. "No thanks," he replied. "I had a rabbit a while ago." He stretched then shook his fur. "Shall we go?" He asked, padding toward the camp entrance and looking at Akari.

Ketavi stopped at the edge of the river. She began lapping at the water and pricked her ears up as she heard the squeals of human children. She let out a sigh then made herself lie down near a tree as she looked around her home.

OOC: Thanks, garcia. :3 I'll go post my bios now.
Red kite

Name : Keevler

Age : Eh. I can't work this out. I'll just say... approximately 35 human years.

Gender : Male

Rank : Curently none in a Pack; a loner.

Crush : Had one before, but stopped after she found a mate.

Mate : None.

Pups : None.

Family : Keevler was the child of a pair of alpha wolves in a Pack many hundreds of miles away from the current location. He eventually left them, not out of a betrayal or such, but simply to be free, and possibly to begin his own Pack. His family still exist, as strong as they ever were, but Keevler doubts he will manage to relocate them. The distances he put between them would make it a dificult task to re-find his old home. Tolto is not a blood relative, but Keevler protects him like a kind of uncle.

Other : Keevler can be immensely enigmatic, but is also wise and cool-headed. He seems more curious towards humans than hateful, yet is incredibly wary around their vilages.

Looks : wolf sepiatle="Black wolf image">

The link might not work, I'll try to get it fixed... The image is not mine, copyright to its respective owners. His face is as such, but his markings are different. His fur is a patchy mix black-and-brown, with a scribble of white on his face around his eyes. His stomach lightens to yellow and then white. His legs are long and lean, but he is still very sturdy and quite muscular.

Name : Tolto

Age : Approximately six in human years.

Gender : Male

Rank : Curently none in a Pack; a loner.

Crush : None.

Mate : None.

Pups : None.

Family : He came from a Pack seperate to Keevler's. Little is known about Tolto, for he recalls very little, but he can vaguely remember being with his Pack one moment, and the next, not. The truth of it was that Tolto's Pack had most likely abandoned him, although by accident or not is unknown. Keevler suspects that humans is involved, but Tolto can barely remember anything to supply enough information.

Other : Not really, other than the fact that Tolto hasn't actually ever seen a human.

OOC: I decided to do a story post seperately, so as to avoid a possible mix-up. ^^

Keevler sniffed the air. Once. Twice. A full three times before finally deciding the way ahead was safe enough for him, and little Tolto. But he had to check first. He'd heard rumours from fellow wolves lopes away from the place that a feud existed between a pack of wolves and a pack of humans. He hated the thought of being mistaken, by the humans, that he was one of their enemies. And he didn't relish the thought of being caught trespas-sing on the wolves' land, either. But he had no choice. It was this side of the river, or that one. Danger hung like an ominous black cloud on both sides. Keevler couldn't risk losing Tolto due to a pitiful mix-up. The humans, from what he heard, would inevitably kill him and his companion. But... maybe the wolves would give him a chance?

He padded forwards through the underbush, lowering down to a nervous creep as he approached a small dome that gently slid down to a very wide berth of gras-s. He peeked out between coarse, yellow strands of the common plant, and felt relief swell up inside of him like a soft, warm bubble. Nothing out there.

He turned around and trotted back the way he'd come, though thick bushes and tight-knit trees. "Tolto!" he whispered as loud as he could. "The way is safe. Come here; there's nothing out there."

The ferns rustled as a small, furry, plump form slipped out. Big paws clumsy with tiredness and his tender age, the cub called Tolto trotted forwadrs as best as he could. Keevler hurried to his side and stood by him, like some dark guardian hanging over the cub's every movement. "Not long now," Kleever reas-sured the child wolf. "We only have to stay this secret until we're out of the Strange Wolves' territory, alright?"

"But why?" Tolto asked, clearly unhappy at the exhausting prospect of the continuous, never-ending, danger-ridden journey he was on. "Why do we have to be so sneaky? Won't the wolves like us?"

"I don't know, Tolto," Kleever said softly. "I really, really don't know. But, just think of it as an adventure. We'll find a den for the night, and have something nice to eat before we go to sleep. You're a very brave and strong cub."

"Hmmmrf," grumbled the cub agitatedly, but Keevler didn't bother scold him. The cub was doing well, for one so young and vulnerable. As cruel though it was, Keevler had expected Tolto to die within a few days of travelling. But he hadn't - which made the adult wolf all the more eager to keep him alive. Tolto was a survivor. He just didn't seem to quite realize it yet. He didn't seem to understand the continuous flow of walking and walking and walking, always staying down, never making themselves seen. But it had become a part of Tolto's life already, a strong instinct. Lie low, stay quiet, and you'll get a prize for being such a good cub. Keevler had trained him well, but it was through compas-sion and patience that he had managed to earn Tolto's trust.

"This way," Keevler said after a short while, and the pair slunk warily through the wide copse, the adult wolf's tail between his legs, Tolto miserable and unhappy.

OOC: No, we don't hate wolves. Actually, we love them.

Akari nodded enthusiastically and walked by Lucian's side, out of camp.

Zallion ran after Cleao to walk in pace with her. "So..." he said. "Did you eat anything today? If you're hungry, we could go hunt together." he suggested with a smile. His ears pricked up at a slight sound and glanced over his shoulder. There was no one there. Maybe it's just my imagination, he thought and turned his mind to the path ahead. Now, he felt he could smell something. One wolf? Two wolves? Or wolves at all? Zallion wasn't sure. If it is a wolf, it's most certainly not of our pack. Smells distinct, he thought as he sniffed the air. My mind's playing tricks on me, he decided, but looked at Cleao questioningly and asked, "Do you smell someone? Or some two?"

Cleao stopped midstride and looked at Zallion, her golden eyes questioning. Her mind had been elsewhere, she had still been cursing the human's existance silently in her head, but now that she listened... She turned and followed Zallion's example, looking over her shoulder, ears forward and nose twitching. "I do" She said shortly... "Maybe we should check it out?" She looked at her companion wolf, an ear still facing the direction of subtle sounds. If they were dangerous wolves... Then the pack needed to be informed. If she and Zallion chose to go and check it out, they'd have to be careful. She looked back once again, awaiting his advice.

---

Teigo sat with his eyes on the human side of the river. As a fighter, it was his job to help protect against threat's such as that one. The human's, and even other wolves should the situation require it. His ears were constantly moving as his silver eyes remained focused some distance over the mas.s of water in front of him. It didn't seem like there was much threat here, not today, anyway... Everything seemed somewhat quiet and undisturbed.

Teigo stood and stretched, turning away from the river and heading towards camp. On his way down however, he caught a scent, or rather, two, and both of them he recognised. It was Zallion, another fighter, and Cleao, one of the hunters... What were they doing out here?... He hesitated for only a second before heading off in the direction of their scent. It had been awhile since he had just spoken to either Zallion or Cleao, and it would make a welcome change from staying sentry at the river all day.

Zallion heard Teigo and immediately recognized his scent. "I know Teigo's somewhere here, but there're other wolves too. Yeah, let's check it out." he said as he lead the way. Being a fighter, he could walk discreetly, and he did that now. After a bit of cautious walking, Zallion could see that the scent was getting stronger. "They're somewhere here," he said softly, glancing back at the she-wolf.

Cleao followed Zallion on silent paws, something she was unbelievably good at... Afterall, it was a needed skill for the hunter's and huntresses of the pack. She remained not far behind him, eyes and ears alert as the scent grew stronger. It wasn't a malicious scent... Not that of a killer wolf on the prowl, anyway. It was just the scent of foreign wolf. She looked around... "They can't be that far..." She spoke quietly, as she caught up to walk alongside Zallion, her eyes constantly roaming the area as they walked.

Before she could so much as say or do anything else, Teigo appeared shortly behind them. For such a big wolf, he was as silent as she was, and he padded up to Zallion's other side, his nose twitching. Another scent, another two scents... And this time, he didn't recognise them. A very small and quiet growl reared in his throat. It was instinct, afterall. "Who are they?" He asked, looking between Zallion and Cleao, referring to the new scents on the scene.

Zallion gave Teigo a quiet nod of greeting. "I'm not sure. Two wolves. Definitely two. One seems to be younger than the other one. But they don't seem to be vicious, but I guess we won't know that until we come face to face with them." Zallion stopped in his tracks. "I think we should hide here and wait. We could stop them when they get here. Ambush, the best tactic." he stated, sniffing the air again. "It won't be long."

OOC: No, I really hate wolves. x3

Keevler continued onwards, his yellow eyes constantly switching around the place, just as a wagtail's tail would endlessly tap away at the ground. Since he was in a stranger wolf's territory, he felt incredibly uneasy and afraid. He was not a cowardly creature, although he knew the times when fear would be understood. Thus it was that his tail had curled up between his legs, a sign of his uncertainty of being in an unfamiliar land. Even worse, a vulnerable young cub was following right behind him.

Agitated by visions of eagles flying away with the limp form of a dead cub in their cruel talons, Keevler swung around and said in a level voice, "Come on, nearly there. We won't be long now, I promise you."

Tolto resumed his hopeful, but wavering, gait. He was growing weaker. "I'm so tired," he sighed, and said nothing more.

Keevler didn't slow his pace, but kept his ears erect and sharp - just in case. They'd been fortunate this far - except for that one incident where a pine marten had gotten too curious, and that terrifying time with the eagle owl, nothing had really bothered them much. They'd kept at a swift, steady lope throughout most of their journey. Times like these were not unheard of, but they secretly still bothered Keevler.

Suddenly, he came to a disturbed stop. Freezing instantly, he stopped in mid pace, ears pointing forward. The hackles on his back and shoulders arose slightly as he caught the whiff of a predatory animal. A wolf. More than one. Of both genders.

"Quick!" he hissed, springing away and driving Talto to the protective cover of some drying ferns and coarse stalks of yellowing gra-ss. "Hide as best as you can, Talto. Stay still! Don't move!"

"What's wrong?" the cub piped up, completely unaware.

Keevler stepped out towards where he'd previously stood again, hackles arising. "Threats," he growled. "Stay still." The cub did not move again, and when Keevler flashed a single glance in the cub's direction, he was relieved to find that Talto was almost invisible amongst the foliage. If the Strange Wolves found him, they could not afford to find Talto nearby.

Cleao heard it clearly that time. That was the sound of a young wolf. Her ears and eyes focused on one spot as she slowly started padding towards the sound. She kept her senses on the smell and sounds. Just in case anything should change that would make the situation dangerous. She continued walking forward however with little hesitation.

Teigo growled slightly at Cleao as she moved away. It wasn't a nasty growl, more of a "be careful" sound. He walked forward slightly, standing just before Zallion, his eyes following Cleao. If anything should happen here, both he and Zallion, as fighters, would take on the foreign wolves if needed. He kept his ears forward, waiting for that one small signal that would mean he and Zallion needed to move.

Cleao stopped as soon as the other wolf came into sight. She didn't let her guard down, and she didn't make any sudden movements. She wanted to avoid violence if possible, and besides, the wolf in front of her looked weak. He clearly had not had an easy journey, wherever it was he had come from. She sat down, looking at the other wolf. "What is your name, stranger?... And why are you here?"

"They would find a reason. The humans hate us Felan, you know that. They take our land as if they own the world, they will kill anything that gets in their way as they expand their packs as if they are the only one with life, with families on this earth." She said moving to sit next to him. It was no secret that she liked him, it was difficult for her to hide her feelings about most everything. Watching the small human pups runoff back to their dens, it amazed her that the adults didn't seem to ever keep a keen eye on them as they played together in woods filled with wolves.

"I guess we'd better find them. If they intend to harm the pack - which I doubt, for they seem weary, more like travelers - we'd better warn the Alphas." Zallion said, advancing cautiously to stand by Cleao. "Who are you? What is your business here?" he asked with a slight growl, looking askance at the foreign wolf.

Keevler guessed appearing threatning would give them the wrong impression, and clearly, these wolves didn't really mean him - or Tolto - any harm. Yet he didn't have the amount of control he'd liked over his physical self - like the hackles that stood on end. He relaxed them as best as he could, and softened his reproachful glare to an observational one, but he was still stiff-legged and a little uneasy-looking. This was the first wolf pack, on his long travel, that had made deliberate, direct contact with him.

"My name is Keevler," he stated in a level tone. "I come from a Pack, a long distance away fom here. I am a loner. I sought out to find or start a pack of my own. But I have trespas-sed over your ground. If you so wish it, I'll leave." He hardened his stare ever so slightly. "I would not like to fight. And I doubt you would, too." He glanced from one to the other. One male, one female. He could probably take out the female if the need was dire, but the male looked quite strong. They both did. But Keevler was in no fit state to fight. The thought of trying to attack these two, and then, undoubtedly, their whole pack, was absurd and dangerous. Another questioin began to gnaw at him - was Tolto safe? Would they hurt him? Eager for a peace treaty, he stepped forwards and allowed his eyes to become soft and almost requiring. "Would you accept another wolf into your realm, even if only for the night?"

Tolto watched the whole discussion, his heart pounding faster than he'd ever felt before. Although these Strangers looked nice, they were big and strong. Keevler looked small and slightly wretched in comparison. Tolto knew that the older wolf had always been a slender, long-legged creature. But now, as he glanced repeatedly between the three wolves, his friend looked very hungry. And very tired.

Not daring to move or adjust his position to get a better look, Tolto remained stuck to the ground, his pallid blue eyes peeking out between the stems of dried gra-ss. One would have needed a true hunter's eyesight to seek out his soft, tan-brown self amongst his yellowing surroundings. So far, the wolves hadn't detected him. He hoped.
